Very knowledgeable and articulate. Unlike many instructors who merely repeat what is in the textbook, he seems to really enjoy what he teaches and it shows in his lectures. His papers all ask for opinions on what you have observed, even if you hated it.
Great teacher. He loves to tell stories of his family for examples. My sister didn't like him at all, but I think he is excellent if your willing to keep up w/ his email, hw, and tests. Tests are exactly like study guides.
Even though his lectures can be very boring. I really learned a lot in his class.. Test were easy and the papers were really easy. Would recommend to anyone. Really Like him
He knows his stuff!!!

Mr Edwards was very interesting and you can tell he really enjoys and knows what he's teaching.
I had him for 20th century, he was very intelligent and if you study his study guides its hard not to get an "A"
Excellent instructor -- knows his material and inspires his students.
run!!!!!
He was a wonderful professor! I took him two semesters in a row. He really knows what he is talking about...if you study...you pass. An easy grade, but he also makes humanities interesting.
He talks and talks about the most boring stuff. Tests are written definitions, written identification, and a few short essays. Weakly reports (300 words) on the reading, and a term paper (1500 words) is HW but all must be done for gordon rule!
He knows the material very well and tells you everything you need to know to pass the course, but his classes are nothing but a monotone lecture in which he doesn't allow students to contribute much of their ideas and opinions. Very frustrating.
I was only in this class for 2 days because I could not stand his teaching style. A person can't grasp what he is teaching because he is very BORING. He does not make it fun or remotly interesting at all. Dont take him.
yea he knows his stuff, but its boring how he teaches. great person and very nice, but wayyy too much work. Every single wk u have 2 read like 15pgs. and then a summary of every section u read!! Horrible!
The way he teaches is soooooo boring!!!! He is a nice guy and knows what he is talking about, but talk forever. He also gives way too many writing assignments. one every week and each are like 10-15 pages to read each.
He knows alot about what he teaches and is easy to understand. Weekly reports are easy only 400 words. Test are easy if you study. The research paper is 1500 words, not to bad and is on who ever you want it to on. If you love greek and roman he is the teacher to take. I got a B and still partied
Lectures in monotone. Not exciting. If you answer too many questions he does not let you participate in lectures. he never lets you state your opinion on literature.I guessed the answer to a question and he made a loud buzzing noise and started laughing that I got it wrong. How rude.
wonderful prof! very knowledgeable and passionate. weekly 400 wd reading summaries, 1 1500 wd paper on whoever you want, 3 exams & final. exams have mult choice, writing, matching, and identification- easy if you study. he spends most of class lecturing, so don't take him if you can't stay awake.
he talks the whole time & the wkly reports are ridiculous. EVERY SINGLE wk u have 2 read about 10-15pgs & write a 400 word summary on it. The class is very boring. He just talks about what you already red the weekand before. Auggg! Although, he is nice & undertanding, but i wouldnt take him again.
Not sure what everyone's talking about when it comes to the weekly reports because we don't have them this semester. However, I do get how bored everyone gets with his monotonous tone and lack of interesting material. I had no choice, VCC dropped me into his class
If you are looking for a class that you can just sleep through, then this is not the class for you. His class is simple enough but you still have to apply yourself. Writing a short weekly paper, or 3 mediuim sized papers are a lot easier than writing 1 or 2 huge papers.
Prof. Edwards' class is very interesting. This class is not an easy 'A'. You must apply yourself in order to make it through w/ an A. Lots of papers (3 unit reports and one term paper) Plus his tests consist of essay questions, identification of art works and some multiple choice.
most boring class i have ever taken. seems like he goes out of his way to make things harder on you.
Class was a little tough, but if you write the papers and read the book you can get an A
No Comments
This teacher is hot and his class is easy if you apply your self and do the papers. I never knew that humanites could look so good.
Expect a lot of homework, but he grades fairly. If you do your work, you get an A. He's very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject, and uses lots of support material, but he speaks in monotone, and reads full texts of medieval poetry.
Expect almost 2 hours of lecture (every class session), constant reading, and less than 5 tests the whole semester (which makes it easy to fail the class)
dude likes to listen to himself talk... constantly.. if a hand goes up, he will continue to talk until hes said what he ahs to say then will answer a question. his test are easy, but you need to study and do the work. he will lecture for the whole class... 2hrs. 45 mins. no ifs, ands or buts.he likes to talk... did i mention that? f'n A.
This guy will talk to death. There is no class participation or student teacher interaction. He does not speak to you, he spaeaks at you. But he knows his stuff, just try to keep your attention focused, read the material, use the study guides, and you won't have a problem passing. you will loose letter grades for excessive abscences though.
This guy is the absolute worst teacher I have ever had.He thinks he's better than everyone! He didnt show up 4 our final I came back at 7am to take the final the next day n he sent the wrong test.He didnt even notify anyone. He will mark off points on papers even if its gramatically correct but if its not the way he would state it.waste of time!
Straightforward professor. This is one of the best classes that I have ever taken. The professor was very helpful in explaining certain issues and will work with you to get the grade that you deserve. Easy A... Will take him again.
Prof. talked all 3 hrs, monotone. Drink some Mt. Dew before class to stay awake. He actually yelled at a kid for sleeping in his class. He knows his stuff but makes it really boring.
Very interesting and loves his subject.
He is a nice guy, his class was easy if you grasp the material. I on the other hand was horrible only because i couldnt get interested in the subject. A lot of lecturing, moderately difficult tests. MUST STUDY. He does grade tests on a curve, though!
Great teacher-- really knows what he's talking about, passionate about the subject matter. Very well structured class. Always gave out study guides, tests only included material on study guides. Just make sure you do the reading. Quizzes and tests were really easy if you read. I got an A without much effort.
HORRIBLE! I was really looking forward to this Humanities class until I went to the first class. I never want to take a humanities class again after this. Talked all 3 hours and had such boring lectures. He knew his stuff but was the most boring speaker i've ever had to listen to.
Pros: What is expected is crystal clear. Nothing ever out of the blue. Weekly readings and 4 mild critique essays are not difficult. Prof is very knowledgeable and helpful. Cons: Lectures quite a bit / no early leaving. Details expected to be remembered on tests can be slightly too specific. Overall a fair, quality humanities professor
terrrrrrrrrriiibleeee! dont take him..hard and strict about everything..teaches the full class time and does not give breaks for extra credit or anything..STAY AWAY!
Very good teacher. Fair as well. Comes across at first like he's tough, and on some things (essays), he is. Exams are easy once you do the first one. It's a formula. Lecture style teaching, which for me is great. Sometimes comes across humorless and arrogant, but still worth taking the class!
Professor is fair and crystal clear about what he expects. Don't wait until the last minute to study from your study guide and you will do fine on tests. Use good grammar and MLA format on essays.
Great professor! Lecture each class. You will need to beat essay style writing. If not prepare a visit to the writer's lab each time. His class made me a much more structured essay writer. Take him if you'd like to learn. Exams are extremely easy if you study for them. Flash cards are key to success. Good luck and enjoy.
He's a great professor. If you're interested in the subject, he presents it well with powerpoints with great clarity. Answers any questions you have to the best of his ability and elaborate on it. Hw is not bad, actually, there is no hw lol, just a weekly quiz online (5 or 10 Q's each depending on the Ch.) Test can be hard, you definitely need to study but if you know some stuff and listen, you can slide on by. And then one course project near the end, no big deal. Overall great professor.
Prof. Edwards is phenomenal. He is brilliant and one truly learns the subject with him. His tests are grueling as his questions (3 tests/5 Essay questions) can be quite abstract. The final is cumulative and he will NOT give a review. You must study every term/Concept you ever learned for the final. Its easier than it sounds but very stressfull
Prof. Edwards is very smart and passionate about his subject. He also teaches a religion class so there an emphasis on that early, but it evens out as the class progresses. He likes in-class discussions so don't be a wallflower. He is clear, helpful and gives few extra credit options. Homework is online. Late is late so turn your stuff in on-time.
I took this class one a week, I don't recommend it unless you already know a lot about religion. Homework is once a week, easy. but the midterm & final, HARD!!! in my class only 3 kids got an A, 1 got a C, and the rest of the class got F's for the midterm. I studied for like 15 hours to pass the damn FINAL and couldn't study for my other classes.
Really knows his stuff. Class is easy if you pay attention and review your notes. He gives 10 question homework assignments on every chapter that are really easy. The tests however are fairly difficult. He sometimes drags on and becomes a little boring, but for the most part it is a really interesting class!
Mr. Edwards had a very good layout to his class. He stuck to the course outline which made it very easy to remember the work. I had a difficult time and he was more than willing to spend time with me to help me come up with new study techniques and also offered extra credit. I highly recommend taking this teacher.
The class isn't a breeze, but an A can be achieved pretty easily. Do the homework and study for the tests and you can't fail. Prof. Edwards knows a lot of support information related to the course and can answer pretty much any question.
This professor is GREAT! Very knowledgeable, and informative. You need the book and you will have to study, but he is very thorough in explaining everything covered. Not hard to get a good grade if you study. His project is very relevant to class. I would definitely take him for another course!
What a wonderful professor! He is so knowledgeable and helpful. Ensures that everyone understands the material. Easy homework for each class comes straight from the book. Attendance is mandatory and there is a project that you have the majority of the semester to work on. I will take another Humanities class with him! One of my best prof. so far!
He is great! I honestly thought this class was going to be harder. As long as you do the homework (basically T/F, fill in blanks, answers in the book) you will be fine. He does get boring sometimes but the slides will be available to you online. He is very neat and organized. USE FLASHCARDS FOR TERMS!
I was really unsure about taking this class, especially because it was 3hrs long. However, this Professor was very interesting and passionate about his subject. His syllabus clearly outlined everything expected. Every test had a helpful study guide. It will stimulate and encourage your heart & mind ... TAKE THIS CLASS!
I just took this class, and it wasn't easy but it wasn't difficult either. You only need the textbook for the HW, so borrow, or photocopy from the library. 1 midterm, 1 final, and study his study guides. He is very organized which I like.
Outstanding instructor. will challange you, but you will be a better student for taking his class.
Professor Edwards is one of the rare professors out there with a truly innate gift for teaching. I am taking another humanities course right now and I honestly wish he was my professor again (due to scheduling conflicts I couldnt make that happen). TAKE HIM FOR YOUR HUM CLASSES! You will not regret it.
Prof Edwards = respectful, honest, organized, & most importantly TRULY DEVOTED/knows what he teaches - religious studies/humanities. Encourages a lot of group discussions during class. Homework is VERY easy - fill ins from chapter readings/provided PDFs. Tests are not cumulative and not too difficult -some essay questions and 'religion' vocab.
Doesnt respond to emails, good teacher but overall too strict, almost wants you to do poorly. I got an A in the fall but I worked my tail off for it, and my other classes suffered. NOT WORTH IT RUN
Professor Edwards is an excellent teacher. He always replies to e-mails and his assignments for this class are not hard at all as long as you actually pay attention to the lecture. His exams require you to use critical thinking and really apply what you've learned, so as long as you study and do all of your work, you're good!
His class was amazing. If you do your assignments it's an easy A. He is a bit strict with some things but he spells everything out on the first day of school. I am taking his class another two times.
this class isnt hard as long as your not a lazy person. one homework WORKSHEET each week along with a pop quiz that it easy as long as you do his learning outcomes each week! he had 3 three page essays. hes kinda boring but i recommend him
SUPER EASY A! you have easy 5 question pop quiz every now and then. one hw worksheet each week and write a total of 3 easy essays. He knows what hes talking about and even offers extra credit. i didnt study at all and i left with an A. take HIM!
I've never disliked a professor before. Maybe I'm reading too far into things, but he seems so pretentious! Super easy class, but if you don't do things EXACTLY as he says, especially on essays, he'll mark off for it.
Class wasn't hard just do ALL homework and your fine. Prof Edwards is great if You dont take notes you wont pass test they are worth 15% each.
Super nice guy. Really knows his subjects. I enjoyed coming to class.
HE IS A TOUGH GRADER!!! HIS TESTS AND ESSAYS ARE RIDICULOUSLY HARD. HIS 20-30 PAGE SYLLABUS SHOULD BE A RED FLAG TO DROP THIS CLASS. DO NOT TAKE HIM UNLESS YOU ARE A GEEK AS WELL.
Very strict on what he's looking for in papers. He says he doesn't give out A's and he means it. Even if you are an A student, he will find some way to bring you down to a low A, borderline B. He really doesn't want people to have an A unless he believes they should. He can be kind of boring, he teaches his favorite version of history.
He is not helpful at all, I saw all good reviews on here so I took him big mistake!!!! The homework assignments are easy but the tests are extremely hard and have nothing to do of what you learn in the lectures. You need the textbook for the tests and homework. He is also extremely strict on attendance, if your late by even 5 minutes your absent.
It's hard to get an A in this class because there is not much to grade on. Only 3 tests, about 10 homeworks, 1 project. Bomb one test and you drop at least 3 grades. He also grades for attendance. Interesting class, nice professor, I definitely struggled to pass though.
I was super excited about the class but the professor was incredibly boring and gave super long lectures!!!!! However, the class is a incredibly easy A if you study for exams and do the few homework assignments given!
Great professor! He really knows his stuff.
He tells you exactly what to do to pass the class in the syllabus. Super clear grading and extremely organized. Taking an online class is scary but he was so quick to answer all my dumb emails(and there were a lot) and was in his office if I need to speak in person. TAKE HIM!!!! you will not regret it.
Not a very interesting professor. There homework do once a week and an exam approximately every month. The exams are on 4 chapters so it's a lot to remember, but the study guides help tremendously. He's an easy grader
I am taking him at the moment and it is a great class, as long as you do your homework and study for the exams you will do great! If you have perfect attendance and an A in the class you will not have to take the final exam!!!
Lectures are long and boring, the textbook is the only way you're going to be able to pass this class. Homework is due weekly, and there were a total of three tests, and three papers to write. Grading on papers was rigid but you always had a chance to make up 1 letter grade. He is STRICT on attendance. Watched half the class get withdrawn.
He has a strict attendance policy, and only lectures. Nothing interactive and the homework is very small and linear but tedious and requires A LOT of reading from the book. The tests are MUCH harder than the homework. He WILL withdraw you from the class if you are a minute late regardless of anything! Very tough grader as well. Would not take again
If you want an easy A DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS. He has a very strict grading policy, as well as an even stricter attendance policy. His homework is simple and easy but the test is like playing Dark Souls with only 1 toe. I would not recommend to take this class unless you want to waste your money and time!
Hardest professor I have ever met! Your grade revolves mainly on how well you can test. The lectures will not help you on the test so the only help you will have is the textbook. You'll have to know every myth in and out, and there are about 4 myths minimal per week you'll have to memorize. He is VERY strict on his attendance policy.
Professor Edwards is not an easy grader and is devoted to what he is teaching. His motives aren't to confuse or to make the class too difficult but truly wants it to be treated as a serious college course which you will have to WORK for a good grade. Studying and showing up is a MUST.
DON'T TAKE HIM!! He is a very very tough grader. He has 3 essays which are literally same grade as the exams, no matter how good you do on them, you won't get better than a C. Took him online, worst experience in my life. He gives so much work and alot of readings. I would recommend choosing another prof. I had to pick him cuz no more prof was left
I took Professor Edwards World Religions course online and while I feel like I learned a lot I would not take his class again. While I excelled at anything that did not require writing whenever we did have to write he gave me bad grades with no explanation. While I'm receiving A's in my other classes for essays he is giving me D's and F's.
If you take Humanties with professor Edwards you MUST do the study guides. Half of the stuff he talks about won't be on the test so mostly focus on the study guide and your basically guaranteed an A.
The class is very interesting and the material is presented well. Simply put, it's a lot of work. Sometime 4 discussions a week with a minimum of 3 responses each (that's 16 posts/week). There are 3 papers that aren't terribly difficult but are graded very harshly. The exams take forever to finish, but they are open book. Overall, a good experience
I took professor Edwards for mythology, and what a great class this is. You have to love reading to enjoy his class, no way around it. But if you love to read and enjoy ancient myths and religions, this class is awesome. His tests are very easy if you do the reading and homework. He assigns two 1-page papers. Easy A, great teacher!
A whole semester of his arrogance. Are you sure youre up for that? And he teaches in a monotone voice. so boring.
If you like reading and you like Mythology, then he's the prefect teacher. He gives out 3 essays two of them are pretty easy, maybe at least a page and a half long, the third was longer and near the end of the semester. He had us watch Star Wars and talk about the traits of a hero. Really, as long as you don't slack off, you'll be fine :)
He is an amazing professor. He really wants you to pass so he makes the tests and all his works extremely easy. Hes extremely easygoing as long as youre coming to class on time and not leaving early. Do all the homeworks. And hes an extremely easy grader. All of his lectures are interesting since he makes them into stories.
Would greatly recommend to anyone. The Test is fairly easy if you study the study guide he gives.
Professor Edwards really knows his stuff, he sometimes goes over things that will not be on the test. I suggest taking the study guides and only focusing on noting that material from the lectures. For homework, you have to read the textbooks and answer 10 questions, but then in class he reads passages straight from the book. Easy if you do the work
No group project which is awesome. Class is boring but he makes it as enjoyable as it can be. The test is basically the study guide. One easy 10 questions homework almost every week. One easy one page paper due the end of the semester. Do your part and you will pass.
I really enjoyed my class with Prof. Edwards. His lectures are very interesting in my opinion and he is very fair and somewhat lenient even in his grading. The class is kind of hard because of all the reading and memorization, but that is to be expected. Would definitely recommend.
A well-read and kind professor, but a rather tough grader. Especially with papers. Very textbook heavy, prepare to spend a lot of time reading. Things like homework are a very low amount of your final grade, so things are weighted heavily around tests. Overall, a solid choice.
Okay so if you wanna feel like youre in the 1980s then I recommend this course! He does not post lectures online, only accepts work in person and cannot be submitted online. Insanely boring, with his monotone voice. You have to memorize all of the readings, tough grader & his tests are pretty hard & make up pretty much all of your grade.
Professor Edwards teaches a pretty easy class. Tests are pretty easy with matching with a word bank and 2 pretty easy essay questions if you understand the values taught in each unit. Homework is 10 questions fill in the blank or true false and you don't even have to read the chapter to answer the questions. I got an A in the class.
this class was my favorite class because the professor mad it so easy we have about 7 test the whole semester and its basically 12 vocab words and 12 matching and the 2 essay questions but its more like 3 sentences for the answer and he gives you all the answers before the test and every test is the same format!!
He is a solid, fair professor. Gives a study guide that has everything you need for the exams (which are straightforward, mainly vocab) and as long as you study it youre solid. There are about 4 exams and a project with homework for each unit. You have to use the textbook! Easy to get an A when you do all the work and study.
He is very passionate and caring about what he does. Test can be passed easily (they are matching and answering about 2 easy essay questions). Homework is 10 questions and it helps bring up the grade. One of the nicest professors I have had. Would take again!!!
Prod Edwards made the lectures super interesting. All of the work is super easy as long as you pay attention to lectures, and take notes. Same with the test, as long as you are paying attention in class, taking notes and studying you will definitely pass this class.
This is a good professor but his tests are with a lot of critical thinking. Very detailed. makes sure the lesson has been definitely learned.
Each assignment is weighted the same. For example, the test and the discussions are both worth 100 points. No cumulative final and work is easy. Do not wait until the last minute.
Personally, I really liked Prof. Edwards! I found the course to be interesting, and it really helped that all assignments were graded the same. So an essay earned the same amounts of points as a discussion. I recommend doing your own study guides, because mine helped me in the final. There are weekly discussions and three papers, but they're easy.

He does three discussion boards a week, and one quiz. Overall there's three paper and three test. Super easy class. Just participate. Everything is due sunday's.
His class has a very set structure. 3 Discussions and a quiz every week, 3 Papers and 3 Tests including the Final. If you stay on top of the work you'll be fine, it's very manageable and easy.
Doesn't really communicate for an online class, he gives a couple assignments a week. As long as you complete them you'll be fine, he provides a lot of book material though and some videos to go along with it. To lessen the impact he provides study guides for each unit, if you complete and understand them you'll do fine.
His lectures were always very good and he prepares you for the tests and papers well. He's a bit of a tough grader when it comes to papers but the papers and homework aren't very difficult and the tests are easy if you study using the study guides.
If you care about your education this professor is awesome! An online meetup where everyone can engage would be incredible. Love this class and the weekly discussions left me wanting more. Professor Edwards thank you, I hope to take another class and learn more from you in the future if you read this. Straightforward and articulate teacher!
One religion a week: 3 discussions and 1 quiz weekly. No word count for official posts. Reply to one classmate with a minimum of 3 sentences. 3 big exams and they are frqs. 1 extra credit opportuinity. 3 big papers and they are "harshly" graded. Most people get 89's even if you do everything on the rubric.
3 discussions a week and one quiz. 3 exams which were difficult, they are all open response questions, and you will not pass if you don't actually learn the content well! 3 papers throughout the course but beware he is a very tough grader and takes off points for everything, even if you do everything he wants, you still will probably get a B. Meh.
Professor Edwards is a fair grader and seems to just want to make sure you critically thought out your responses. Easy quizzes that are only multiple choice. Exams have a long response question usually worth a third of the test. He gave extra credit. His final project was extremely easy. Be prepared for lots of discussions though.
Professor Edwards is great! His lectures are interesting and full of passion. He supplies you with a study guide for every test and if you just review the study guide you'll pass. There's no busy work and he really wants you to participate in class but it's not required.
Class consists of two discussion posts and one quiz due weekly. Total of 5 exams. His lectures are Youtube videos and excerpts from various famous works. He provides all the readings, there is no need to purchase a book which is awesome. The assignments were predictable which really helped contribute to getting an easy A. He is fantastic; take him!
Took Prof. Edwards (online) for Summer 2023 and he is by far the BEST professor I have had since attending Valencia. He is very kind, only gives a few assignments a week(a quiz and 2 discussion posts, only 1 peer response for each). Every few weeks, there is a 10 question exam and one pager due (VERY easy and worthwhile! 3 total each, no honorlock)
He is a tough grader but it isn't impossible to score a perfect score on his papers. You will receive feedback that should lead you to a perfect score for the 2 other papers in the semester if you don't do as well the first time. Light workload and is easily manageable as long as you don't leave it all last minute. Quizzes and exams aren't bad.
Great proffesor very supportive and teaches well. homework is straightforward and the test are very simple to understand as long as you study.
This class was fairly easy. This teacher is very organized and you can always understand what is expected of you for each module. We talked about a different topic each week and at the end he quizzed us on everything we learned. You will have to write a couple of papers which can be time consuming but nothing crazy, very manageable.
The class consisted of two discussion posts and a quiz each week. 5 exams for each topic are worth 10%, generally given biweekly. He provides the readings so there is no textbook involved, although they are a lot. Also provides YouTube videos where he goes over the material from each respective topic. Final project and overall class was easy.
Prof. Edwards' REL2300 class is well-structured and engaging. While the grading can be tough, the workload is manageable. Staying on top of the weekly discussions and quizzes is key. Unstuck study's practice tools were a lifesaver for exam prep.
He's great at explaining the concepts of humanities. One thing I really appreciate is that he doesn't assign a lot of homework. However, I will say that most of the information learned is in class, so if you do not attend class, you will fail. That being said, the material is concise and easy to understand and his exams are very simple too.
He is a very good professor, especially for freshmen. I cannot recommend Mr. Edwards enough! Homework was due once a week, very simple to do, and exams were aligned to information taught in class. Recommend doing the readings as not only are they interesting, but they provide all the information you will need on the homework and exams. :)
