He was good as a teacher, but make sure when you do your political cartoons at the end of the semester you draw them well even though he says he doesn't care how they look!!! His tests can be confusing, but do the study guide, and you'll be fine!

WOW!What a great class!I absolutely hated history with a passion before I took this class.Now I find myself repeating lectures 2 my roommates b/c I'm so fascinated by history.This class covered American history from about 1850 to present...not so long ago that its boring.Fitzgerald is enthusiastic about the subject and teaches flawlessly.Take him!

What a great professor! He really knows his stuff! He brings in videos related to class topics and also starts off the class with current events. This is a class where you actually learn the material covered, but he doesn't expect you to memorize 8 chapters for an exam. He offers students his notes on his webpage, so you can review them. Amazing Teacher,. Took him for both POS2041 and AMH2010. Honestly my favorite professor. I learned so much simply through his teaching. His test comes straight from his notes which he write out and also posts online. Highly recommend. Take him before he leaves. From my understanding he only has one semester left at SFCC.

Mr. FitzGerald is a wonderful teacher. He is very funny and he makes the class extremely interesting and lively. He posts all his notes online so you don't need the book. He is great and I really looked forward to his class each time. Tests are easy as long as you study notes well. I wish all my classes were this fun and interesting.

Usually I despise Yankee fans. John, however, has changed my perception. He understands the student, especially the fact that we have to drag ourselves out of bed for his class at 8AM. He is open to most any topic of discussion (within reason) and all viewpoints of that topic. Now if only we had more politicians like this guy. Get him if you can.

I know you read these so, "HEY" Mr. Fitz. Students, expect lively class discussions, fair grading, semi-easy tests (if you study even a little) and some videos. His lectures are clear and he uses his "words", he's pretty funny, fairly easy going, and most of all, teaches his classes with the intention of PASSING his students. Highly recommned him!

He is a great teacher. Really cares about you passing the course and enjoying it while you do it. You can tell that he really loves what he does. His test are very easy, and no homework. Just make sure that you study the notes he writes on the board and the notes that he posts on the website.

He is a caring teacher that really wants everyone to get an A. If you like politics, take his class and have fun discussing current events with an intelligent and well informed man. His tests are harder than he makes them seem but if you study, YOU WILL PASS. This was one of the only classes that I actually looked forward to.

Definitely a great example where a teacher's passion and energy makes the class. Current events, and a general awareness of politics, all came to play in this government class. Was not too demanding. Entertaining. I'm not sure if he is still teaching though.

I am taking his online history class this semester. He is very helpful with all the effort he puts into teaching. His notes are wonderful. Personally, I hate history and always will, but the teacher is pretty great. If you have to choose a history class to take, choose Mr. Fitzgerald's. Online is the way to go.

Just read the other ratings. Great teacher! Really knows how to get conversations going that are positive and educational. Applies a lot of daily life conversations to class material. He brings great clips to reinforce topics. Just study the notes and you'll do great. Awesome guy!

Very easy teacher... taking it right now... has a good sense of humor... take him online... the easiest class offered at Santa Fe... he gives about 10 quizzes and a midterm and a final and 5 discussions that you'll have to answer... its easy just read the power points and you'll be ok.

Very good teacher. His online classes are set up so nicely for people with busy lives. You have a week to read the chapter and powerpoints and then just take the quiz on Sunday. No way you can't pass if you just use the notes and read the chapter. He doesn't set the quizzes up to trick you. Very helpful and straightforward.

I took this class online and it was awesome. This professor is really nice and willing to work with you. He is very fair...maybe even more fair than he should be. As long as you read the chapters, you will do awesome. He even gives detailed notes for you to use for the online class. I HIGHLY recommend.

Online class- Very clear instructions, helpful powerpoints, easy quizzes and discussions. Read the book and there's no way you won't pass. Great instructor; gives feedback on assignments quickly and tells you what you did wrong. Highly reccommended :)

I took this class online and it was fairly easy. You have an online quiz every Friday and you have a midterm and a final. You will also have 2 discussion questions.

Fitzgerald is awsome!! Your grade is based on small quiz which are 5 questions and all the answers are in the powerpoint that he gives you. Took this class inline and it was easy. I highly recommend him trust me you wont regret it. If you want an A, take him.

Excellent professor.(online) Material from book and PPT. Chapter quiz each week, discussion question or short essay each week. Great sense of humor! Really helpful and you can tell he loves his job! I took this as an online class. This was by far the easiest online class I have ever taken. All you have to do is read the assignments and you will pass. Professor Fitzgerald is extremely helpful and provides a lot of information. There's a lot of reading but luckily it's very interesting and you will really learn a lot about U.S. History.

Was very hesitant about taking history online. This was a great class though. I learned a lot and I got an A in the class. Quizzes and discussions are straight forward, two essay discussions that make you think a little but aren't difficult. Midterm and Final are straight forward as well. Best online class. I've had terrible history classes online but his was super easy. I learned a lot without being overwhelmed with too much work. As long as you do the weekly quizzes and discussions, there's no reason to get lower than an A. His midterm and final are super easy too.

Excellent professor, and very interesting subject provides Power Points for every quiz and most of the questions comes from his Power Point. Only downfall is that your quizzes and tests are timed.

Lots of reading between the assigned chapters and the powerpoints but if you read it all and pay attention it will pay off and be a simple A. Weekly quizzes and discussions, a mid term, and a final. Pretty simple and clear what is expected. I would recommend this professor.

Take this class for AMH2020! Prof. Fitz is awesome. He is clear about assignments and this is a pretty easy A. Just make sure you participate in the "weekly academic challenge" and read your textbook and you will be fine. Very interesting. You learn about important topics in this class.

His announcements make me smile because they're pretty funny - even though it's an online course. I can tell he is old-fashioned. While the history book was a little boring, this class was overall enjoyable. I felt relaxed the entire semester, even as I prepare for finals this week. I LOVE this professor, and I wish I could take him more than the two times I have. Professor FitzGerald is truly passionate about the subject he teaches which is history! taking this class online in a mini-semester is sorta a handful if you have a full-time schedule just be prepared to do quizzes, read two chapters a week and 2 discussions typically. Overall only had to write 3 essays for him very straightforward class.

I took this class for a 1/2 semester online and i loved it. I personally love history but i really enjoyed the way Mr. Fitzgerald taught this class. If you do the readings and discussions you'll be fine and the tests are not crazy hard.

Took this class online for 1/2 semester. Lots of short assignments through the week, but he opens the 2 weekly quizzes each Friday and closes them on Sunday. The work isn't difficult, just know that is you work on the weekends, you'll need to find an hour to be able to sit down to do the quizzes. The discussions are heavily weighed, but fun.

This is my 2nd time taking this professor. Absolutely love him and I wish I could take him for my next history class. Lots of small assignments and weekly quizzes, but very easy to do and keep up with. No midterm or final. You can tell he is very passionate about the subject he teaches. Best history professor I have every had, somewhat of a tough grader but presents the work in a way that you actually learn it. I took it on the mini semester and even with the quick deadlines it was fun and stress free.

This Professor is very passionate about the courses he teaches. I took this course as a Fall B course and it was super easy. As long as you do the assignments on time you should have no problem passing this course with Professor Fitzgerald. (PS. almost everything in this course is on quizlet)

Prof. Fitzgerald's class is pretty straightforward. Discussion posts, quizzes, and exams - all easy if you look over the material available. Be careful on some of the quizzes due to there being a few where the answers were recorded in his system incorrectly. If you feel you got something right, email him. He is very accessible and understanding.

He is a great all-around professor. I had a lot of medical problems throughout the semester and he was understanding and so so helpful. He is by far the best professor I've had. If you have zero knowledge on government and want to learn all about it I HIGHLY recommend this class! Your textbook will be your best friend, so don't be shy with it!!

This class was easy while being fun. You actually learn stuff even if you don't study. There are weekly discussions on very interesting topics and he mostly just gives you an A for participating. The quiz questions are on quizlet so you don't have to buy the textbook. He also provides PowerPoints if you want to read them and not pay for the book.

Such a great professor. He really cares about making this course fun and knowledgeable, while also giving out manageable work. I took the Summer A course, we usually had 2-3 discussions and 2 quizzes per week. Definitely a manageable for the summer time. I really would love to take him again.

He's really nice and doesn't assign much work. I don't like government but he made it easy to learn and the textbook isn't necessarily needed. As long as you submit your assignments before they're due you're golden.

Prof Fitz was awesome. The class was online, so it consisted of one discussion post & reply and one quiz per week, then just the midterm and final exams. He's super kind, gives the best feedback, and always has extra wisdom to share with the class. He is obviously left-wing, politically speaking, so I wouldn't recommend if you are conservative!

We are assigned to read one chapter each week, sometimes two. This will range between 35-45 pages per chapter. Also we have about a 15-20 page powerpoint that is very down to the point. He replies with amazing feedback on discussions. Quizzes are about 20 questions. If you did horribly he will likely allow a retake. Emails back same day. Caring guy

He gives you slides, podcasts, videos, and pdf with everything you need to answer the questions. Also, there are quizzes every Sunday but they are easy and shorts. The final is a test but if you read the material, you'll get an A. TAKE THIS TEACHER! A very manageable amount of assignments each week, and the class is completely online with no tests, final, or quizzes. He gives instant feedback and answers emails within the day, he also gives great feedback on assignments and you can tell he truly cares about his students in class. I have no complaints, easy A, do the work.

I am usually the "odd man out" with my views in politics. Dr Fitzgerald is amazing and it is clear he just wants to teach people. I would have loved to have had his class in person. Great professor. My low grade was mainly due to missing homework. He assigns 4 assignments every week and allows late work with points deducted. Assignments were pretty simple, mainly a bunch essays, but they are simple and straightforward. As long as you get the work done, this is a very easy class.

Professor Fitzgerald was the most passionate and kind educator I've had this entire year. It was a wonderful experience learning under such an instructor who cares so deeply about his work. I would retake this class, as well as any other class he is willing to teach.

Incredibly passionate teacher, provides many opportunities for students to succeed. Writing-heavy class, with 1 group discussion and an individual essay (can go up to 8-14 paragraphs) a week. The essays, however, are incredibly easy; just copy information from videos provided and compile it into a paragraph, no elaboration or fake fluff needed.

This was the easiest course I've ever taken. Theres like 4 assignments each week and took me about an hour to do all of them. He seems like a super nice guy and emails back pretty quick. Also, there are no tests.
