You have to work in this class, but I enjoyed it. I ended up with an A. Plus he gives out a lot of extra credit opportunities

He is an awesome teacher! He is so passionate about his work, his homework assignments are so much fun! You get to go to the Art Institute of Chicago, see a play, go on a Tour, see Blue Man's Group or anything like that! I HIGHLY suggest taking this professor!

Great teacher! He makes this class easy and enjoyable. The most important thing is that Mr.Frazier loves what he does.

He is very thorogh with projects but he is very clear and fun to learn from. I really enjoyed coming to his class everyday!

He's really smart!There was a lot of homework assignments though. For example, we had to do a wood carving, read some poems, write about an artwork, and spend 45 minutes drawing something all due on the same day. But he grades pretty easy and is fair. The tests are short answer and you get to choose which questions to answer.

One of best professors at COD. Profesor Frazier is awesome. He does give a lot of assignments and makes your earn your grade. Some assignments are even fun-watching movies, painting with food. He has traveled all over the world and shares his stories.

Prof needs to turn this class into a book--the things that he taught us about American culture sound like a made-up mystery novel--but they were true. Class makes you question your stereotypes of others. I left his class and did more outside reading on my own! Fab prof and class!

I enjoyed this class a lot. Mr Frazier is VERY informed and I learned so much in his class. Not only that, but I remember it, and it is helping me in at least three of my five classes this semester. I gained a good awareness of different cultures, their religions, and art. I highly recommend this class, if you are willing to do the work.

Most energetic prof you'll ever meet. 24-hour a day caffeine rush can be overwhelming at 8am. Prof loves to teach and get students to try things like paint with food. Never interested in art before class but now I will even watch the history channel! Make sure there on time everyday as he reviews exam questions in first 5 minutes of class.

Professor Frazier is brilliant and smart. But he is not typical prof. Loves to talk sports, movies, and even current music. Worked harder than almost all my other classes besides chemistry but worth it. He is just an awesome teacher. I took my kids to Field Museum and could teach them about the art.

This is one of my favorite classes. Class discussions are interesting and professor is brilliant. Make sure you come to class on time as most exam questions are reviewed at the beginning of each class. The only issue is that there is too much work for a general education class. We often have two assignments due on the same day.

John is one of the few teachers that actually likes to teach. If you don't understand something, he will spend all day helping you understand it. The only negative to this class is that there is a lot of difficult reading.

Professor Frazier is a great teacher. He is really smart and I learned a lot of interesting things from this class. There is a significant amount of homework that he collects in a portfolio. The portfolio is worth 80% of your grade and you can use it on the midterm and final. Great class! He is such a brilliant professer!

One of my favorite classes ever. You should learn this much in all college classes. Professor Fraser is super-smart and helpful. Got a kick out of his references to Gwen Steffani, "300," and Brad Pitt. The only downside is he expects a lot from his students so it's not a blow-off class. Mr. Fraizer is easily the best teacher I've ever had. He is excellent at realating what he teaches to the world today. He's exceptionally knowledgeable on everything he teaches; and he is also very understanding.

Professor Frazier is a great teacher and man. Travels to Africa to save African children when not teaching. A student critized my Hindu beliefs as unbelievale in class and Professor quickly had student recognizing how all religions require faith in your beliefs rather than facts. This encouraged all students to speak up as Prof would have our back.

Very good professor! His class is pretty easy if you attend it and do the portfolio of readings that are assigned.The readings are easy. He gives you final and midterm questions and they are very short and mainly your opinion.

Claas rocks but is intense. We discussed race, torture (even giving up your life to save millions), immigration, abortion, gun control Prof will push you to support your ideas with real info rather than just having an opinion. You will learn both sides of every issue. Everyone is class admitted to questining at least own of their own positions

The class was very interesting. There was a lot of assignments but the work wasn't to bad. He is very engaging with his students so that when you leave class you remember the material. He grades easy. There is alot of extra credit available. Sometimes he thinks hes all that, that no one is better than him.But I highly Recommend him.

If you want to learn to think like an adult, this is the class for you. You will read about every modern American issue from both sides and have to know both sides of the argument for the tests. Class is fun as you work in small groups sharing opinions every day. I learned more in this class than in any other. Recommend highly!!!

Very interesting class. John was very helpful in studying and learning the basic concepts of art and history without all the small details. I liked how he put in modern day references to how the artists impacted today.

John Frazier is the man! Do your homework and get an A. One of the most interesting things about John is that he said the word "ASPECT" 390 times and the word "NOTION" 293 times. Keep a count going when you take him the first day of class. I guarantee these numbers are low as i did not start counting untill the second week. FRAZIER=AWESOME!

In our class we learned the pros and cons of abortion, capital punishment, advertising to children, school uniforms, gangs, spankings in school, if there is a God, guns,why so much evil...And then we had to defend our own opinions using facts. Great Professor! You have to answer questions from the book you get and he will grade certain assignments from your portfolio...You have to write 2 papers..one on a painting and one on theater? (I did Blue Man Group), As long as you do the work you will get a good grade..No tests, just a Midterm and a Final..

Amazing at the way that he makes you look at the U.S. & social problems. As a woman, I may even make more money from his class because you learn to negotiate your salary. Only downside is that you will have to work as hard as a science class!

so nice and fun. it was a really easy class. all we'd have to do is the readings and then have group discussions which nobody would ever do. the big part of your grade are your portfolios but you just take notes from you book readings. and then you have to do a project, either service learning to or papers. on the final, you can use your porfolio.

Great and helpful teacher if you let me know what is going on. He even lent me a book when I lost mine to finish the class. This is not a blow-off class like other HUM classes though.

Amazing professor. Extremely knowledgeable, tries to keep it interesting, and very passionate. Tests were fair in their difficulty. No quizzes. Portfolio homework almost every day that got a little overwhelming. The course is easy if you attend every class. Do the extra credit! There are 100 available e/c points. It will be worth it.

I have never seen someone so energetic on a Friday morning. You will work your ass but it is not busy work and will help you remember the ideas. You also can do volunteer work for part of your grade as he wants you involved. A great class.

Prof. Frazier is honestly one of my favorite professors. He knows his stuff is very passionate about his work and teaching and it inspires you in class to work hard and do your best.
