This was the best class that I ever took in college. Professor Frazier is super-interactive and listens to students responses. Took this class over MDC school Corna shutdown and Frazier always had us talking and drawing. Midterm was rough as online I thought I could look everything up but got flustered and fell apart. Frazier helped me recover.

This was my favorite and best class and professor as I graduate MDC and head to UF. Frazier is amazing but you will have to work for your grade. Daily readings and video screenings with notes, philosophy conversations, discussions and midtern and final. None of work is hard but you will think a lot about art.

Frazier is the best teacher in the world even online. After finishing his online Art History class I am even more disapppointed were weren't in class. Fraz is amazing at explaining art and its importance and museums without trying to influence your thinking. Most interactive class ever and we were online. Only issue is that he expects a lot.

How to start? Frazier is amazing. He gives a lot of extra credits, so be ready to catch them. Because of the pandemic, we had a flipped classroom, were we do the majority of study on our own, but everything is clear. You know wat to expect. You also know what and when is due, so there is no excuses to not get an A in Cinema Appreciation.

Art History with Professor Frazier was best class I took in college. Professor is so kind, funny and smart. We had a flipped classroom so we watched his lectures online and then came in and talked about art during class. He actually listens and helps you think about art in world in new ways. Fraz is just the best. Class is awesome, and his lectures are fun. For a summer class, there was a huge amount of work, but teacher is amazing and works on movies himself. Make sure you keep up with 4-5 assignments per week as they are not hard but take up some time.

Professor Frazer is one of most caring people I have met. When I was struggling with some health issues and then depression he checked in on me a couple of times even after I had to drop the class with my issues. I really can't wait to take his class again in the spring.

He really opens up your perspective towards the world. For being a virtual class it was SO ORGANIZED, he makes his own YouTube videos which helps make the homework alot more fun to do.

Best was the best class I took. Professor is great and his lecture videos he makes you watch before class are interesting. There are a three assignments every week that he grades so only issue is if you have full time job and school and family like kids its hard to keep up. He is always willing to help you out. Movie class was great as each week we had an old movie to watch and then discuss in class and professor pushed us to understand how movies are put together. He is fun.

Very smart film class.

This was the most challenging class I took this semester. Professor wants a lot from students but he is always there to help and explain. If you want an easy art class this is NOT it. I can honestly say it was best class I've had so far in college because Frazier cares if you learn and makes lectures about art meaningful to students.

this was my best class and favorite. Frazier cares deeply for students, but I agree with comment before that he makes you do a lot of notetaking. Notes are on the artworks we cover so they are useful for quizzes but there is a lot of them. Also I took Blended class so more work on own as we only saw professor 1 time a week.

Frazier's Art History class was only non studio class in all of college that made me think for myself and argue what I believe. There are multiple homework assignments so beware but Frazier treats you like an adult and helps when there are problems. Connects art to current problems we have to deal with which can be depressing but he loves teaching.

Film Professor Frazier is great at getting students to work in classroom. Every class we were discussing and arguing over films. As a CS major I was afraid I was going to be left behind and not understand the class but he makes everything so easy with his lectures and clear grading criteria. Wonderful professor who is nice and kind and helpful. He encouraged me to get the help I needed to do well and didn't make me feel bad about it. He even brought me lunch when I couldn't afford to eat and was waiting for help.

He is the best professor/teacher I have had. He cares about you and will check in with you when you need. Lots of opportunities to make up work which is good because he asks for a lot of work. He wants you to learn art and why important for everyone to understand art.

Frazier was amazing. Asked us to challege us when we were having disucssions on whether his interpretation and lists were right or wrong. He listened to us and our opinions and then helped us understand that there was a better way. He is the best teacher and one of the most friendly people I have ever worked with.

Class was most interactive for an online class. Frazier makes you make art and turn in as part of attendance and you must answer questions during class in chat for attendance--he checks. Wonderful teacher & person and caring but you must do the work or you will fail. He requires you watch lectures before class so you talk about art in class.

Frazier is most caring professor ever. He checks in with students constantly, doesn't harass you about late work, and treats you like an adult. He expects you to do work before class like reading and watching his lectures which are awesome and interesting. There is lot of work and writing about art so not for lazy student. A delight to have! Very nice and genuine and wants the best for you. The class has so much work though, if your schedule doesn't fit the time and work required, take a different professor. Midterm and final are open book, take good notes, highlight important details,etc. Lets students know how they're doing via email, before/after midterm.

I learned so much from professor and class. More work than some of my intro science classes but Frazier makes work fun somehow as its interesting. My favorite class in college so far. Honors Art Appreciation with Professor Frazier was life changing. He made me think about parts of the world vs how US works like I have never thought about. The class on how ais ll people want same things everywhere in world and how governments and people use art to get these things. I look at everything differently now-movies, art, life.

Film and Frazier--only college class I ever looked forward to going to. Frazier could teach Art for 3 Year Olds and I would take it. He may be most positive person I have ever met and supportive of any idea if you can defend it. Beware of workload as its not for everyone-grades easily-but every week watch 2-3 lecture videos, film screening & quiz.

I don't regret taking this class with him AT ALL. He's very smart and truly enjoys his students about the course material. If you read and put in the work, he will help you pass and do well on his exams. Reflection paper and community project required. I'm really happy I took his class instead of AP Art History. Definitely worth it.

My only B this entire scool year, and I deserved it and worked for it. Frazier is not a gimme class-you'll earn it from the best teacher on planet. Read what this professor has done and think this is why Frazier is pushing us to learn because he wants us to succeed in competitive arts field. If you don't want to work don't take his class.

Loved Art History so much with Frazeir. Took another easier art history class before his and learned nothing. I learned more in his class than I thought possible as class connects everything art, science, religion, government. And Frazier cares about what you think which was nice.

Enlightening class on all of the Nonwestern world art and cultures. Professor has been everywhere and seems to know aobut everyplace so you can ask him both pros and cons of each culture and artwork. Multiple assignments each week so make sure you have time. Best college class and helpful teacher I had.

Imagine having lunch with your professor who works on movies, hangs out with celebrities over summer and works with refugee children in African. Take his class and go to lunch as it is a humbling experience to understand that your life can make a difference. Brilliant, caring and humble when you are with him he is inspiring. Just be ready to work.

Class was fun and insightful in analyzing movies. Only issue is that if you are a fan of film magic some of the things that you don't know how they do you will learn how to do so can ruin certain films and movie rides like Haunted Mansion. Frazier is great and expects you to participate.

Took summer blended course with 1 class in person and 1 class online. Frazier is so good wish I had taken it with him 2x in person. Life changing, eye opening, changemaking class. All Honors students should be required to take Professor Frazier as his class opened my eyes to how world really works and thinks. Most useful class for understanding China, India, Africa, Japan, early Latin America and history of whole world. Like other raters, there are many assignments each week.

Film Appreciation class was outstanding in summer six week fashion. Just enough time to learn concepts and analyze film for no film majors. If you are a film major recommend taking full longer semester as theres a lot of vocabulary to creating a film. Frazer is one of best professors at MDC.

Film Appreciation was my favorite class at MDC. Professor Frazier is outstanding and cares what and HOW you think. There is a lot of small group work that Frazier then evaluates to make better like shooting Hollywood lighting, how to use zoom lenses, and using a moving camera. There are mulitple assignments due each week so not for lazy students.

Class was very interactive with student groups solving art related problems every day. Designed museum display, learned how impressionism works, created political cartoons, broke down cultural appropriation in Disney movies and talked ethics. Nonwestern Art Appreciation is most eye-opening class I took in 12 years of school. I learned about parts of the world for first time that are important like China, Japan and India. Professor is best teacher I ever had.

Dr. Professor Frazier is perfect, I have learned more about the world in his class in 8 weeks than in my 12 years of school. He is so engaging, interacting and willing to talk about any topics about the culture we bring up. Also has fun midterm and final with evaluating movies and Disney rides. He's brilliant. My last college semester and my last class was the best with film with Professor Frazier. I will never watch a movie again without thinking of what he taught me. Went to Wakanda Forever and all I could see was how shots, angles, editing & mise en scene were everywhere and how used. Now I wish I was a film major.

Film Appreciation was so incredible I changed my major and can't watch a movie now without breaking it apart and figuring out why the director and cinematographer did what they did. Frazier is most gifted and hardworking teacher I have ever seen. Final exam was fun--remove 10 films off of top 100 list and add 10 new ones!

Professor Frazier really is a great professor. If you're an art major, this class is perfect for you. But, if you're thinking of taking this class as a humanities credit, it is extremely demanding. He gives a TON of homework so you will really have to pace yourself with your other classes wisely. Overall, good teacher, way too much work.

Professor Frazier is a visionary in teaching Art History. I couldn't keep up with all the new ideas that raced through my head about the nonwestern world each day. His class became daily dinner conversations with my family. He transformed my way of thinking about the world. I am astounded that he was my teacher-won everyone teaching award you can.

He is the best teacher that you will ever have-he may not be your favorite because he assigns 4-5 hours of homework every week and you have to do it as it makes up like 50% of your grade. So if you don't want to work hard take another art teacher. But if you want a real college class where you have to think and discuss and rethink he is the best.

A quiz, and 2-3 homework assignments every week. Can be demanding if you're busy with other classes so you should take him if you know you can have a hard class slot in the semester. Good conversationalist and listens to what you say. Would recommend doing his work the moment it's assigned so you don't get swamped at the end. Very good professor!

You can seriously tell this professor loves what he does. This class is work heavy for sure compared to some other classes, but its worth it. The final is quite hard so make sure to prep.

Best way to learn film is from people who know and work in films. Professor is overly caring and wants to engage in conversation/debates about movies and what works and what doesn't. Best professor in best art department around. Worked so hard in Art History, 3-D with Silva and Figure Drawing with Basile. When showed my portfolio at portfolio review day many of best art schools waived admission fees and said whoever taught you is amazing at what they do. Frazier is a life changing professor. Mentored me to receive every academic award I could even through Bachelor's when I was 2000 miles away from Miami in New York. Fought for me to receive more finanical aid at dream college to make it work. Now I am in Harvard Law School and the only reasons are my hardwork, my family and Frazier. Love this man.

Film with Frazier is a great class, He does make you talk in class so not for everyone and create mini film scenes like a horror scene and a love scene. I look at ALL movies and TV shows differently now on how editing and camera shots used.

Art History 1 was fun and active. Professor Frazier wants you to think and talk and be on camera so if your not you can't get an A. There are 4 things due ever week so don't get behind. If you don't love art take someone else but if art is your life he is one of best art history teachers in world.

His classes are unbelievably interesting. He wants you to talk and argue over art issues with him in class. He listens and responds back to you and your ideas. I love MDC and classes here but I don't understand how Frazier is here. He seems to know a bunch of celebrities and works with UN and Disney and museums. Professor's Cinema Apreciation class is also best and most fun class I have ever taken. He seems much more like a Havard Professor than a MDC Professor. You will learn in his class.

Professor Frazier is the most organized and caring professor. All assignments are on canvas for whole semester on day 1. Completely helpful with deadlines and life when it falls apart. He does make you do at least to 5 hours of work each week and you have to do it as homework and participation are big part of grade. He is just a wonderful teacher.

Frazier genuinely wants his students to succeed in his class and generally in life. He knows the material well and enjoys sharing his passion with the students. He is always willing to help a struggling student. Assigns lectures to watch outside of class but the quizzes online are easy and can be retaken twice. you have five skips for assignments

Professor Frazier is a super human walking amongst us humans. He is the most generous and wonderful teacher I will every be around. And his way of teaching is like sitting around and talking with your grandfather about life's lessons. He's unreal.

Professor is the most caring and interactive teachers I've had. He even sends good job messages throughout term--I got 4/5 and ended up with a A even with a C on midterm--had a great final.

Frazier's a wonderful teacher who cares if you learn. Listen to him about midterm as it's hard. I didn't take his advice and make midterm cheat sheet on aesthetics and important artworks and failed midterm. Will definitely make cheat sheets for final exam

Frazier was very involved with us and learned names and talked to us not at us. Had weekly check ins to learn about us on zoom for online class with things like favorite movies and bring pets to class day. He made class interesting and didn't lecture at all. Most highly recommend.

Great Professor. I have him for one of my classes right now and I'm definitely taking him again. He cares to much for his students and great lectures.

Frazier is hands down one of the best professors I've ever had. He offers many lenient options to students with busy lives, truly cares for each student, and has personally made me feel so comforted and involved in the classroom. Although there is a lot of work, the exams are not proctored (although require a handmade study guide) and hw is easy.

Professor is very encouraging and wants students to talk and be involved in the learning even in a zoom class. He is very engaging and makes you do a few different activities to turn in for attendance points. Loved this class as he cared more than any other teacher I've ever had.

Give yourself the gift of taking this class & ARH2050 with Frazier. His heart is huge, & his passion is unmatched. I'm at FIU now & have yet to meet a better professor. I miss his energy & interactive classes. You need to study, but how he gives his lessons makes it worth it. He remembers his students. You'll love him & he'll love you

hes an amazing professor. learned more in this class than in any other class. one of the most caring professors. he cares for his students and will help you if any questions. has hw assignments but its to watch yt vids and reflect and will use what you learn in his class. would recommend again

Amazing teacher and very understanding when you miss class. Yes, there will be 1 hour lecture videos due once a week but trust me it's not that bad. Plus you received quizlets and notes the first week of class, as long as you put the time in you will make it. Very easy!!!

He's a pretty fun professor if you're looking to take art history classes with him. But you've just got to be prepared to know the material when it comes to homework like videos or quizzes.

So good I went back for AH2! He is genuinely one of the best teachers and you learn so much from taking his physical class. Although AH2 is much more intense than his first course, he makes everything very engaging and articulates everything extremely well. Videos and one test every week, take notes, and you'll be good! W professor for sure!!

It was my first time taking this professor, and I can say that he is a very professional and respected person. With a good amount of effort, you can pass his class. I highly recommend taking his class.

Videos and a test every week (multiple choice, super easy). Work in AH2 starts to get harder than AH1 but he compiles everything in manageable chunks! Allows late work, responds at reasonable times, great guy, and clarifies anything you need. Take heavy notes and start your final exam as its given to you day one!! One of the best on campus!!!

Great class if you're genuinely interested in art history, Professor Frazier is passionate and upfront about the workload from day one. There's a lot of material, including long videos to watch before each class, but he's very chill and lenient. I took this with six other classes and still managed fine. Would definitely take him again.

Frazier is by far the best teacher I have ever had! He is an incredibly caring professor who takes a personal interest in every student, even in a full classroom. If you have the chance to take his class, I would absolutely recommend it!

Professor Frazier is genuinely the sweetest teacher you could ever take. He take time and puts so much effort into his lessons and it shows. As someone who never found art history interesting he truly made it one of my favorite classes! definitely take him if you can!

Frazier is amazing. He is super caring and helpful. His IDH 1001 class consisted of weekly notes of videos and readings. These were easy and interesting. The class also had lots of teamwork. At the end of the semester you will have to turn in 2 essays of a project you will be doing through the semester. The class was easy and fun; I recommend him!!
