Gallo is a nice guy and a good teacher for a difficult and uninteresting (to me) subject. Really cares about whether students are getting it or not; moves slow and explains a lot. Gives good reviews before tests; tests are challenging but in a good way. Isn't strict about attendance or homework, but is a class to keep up on for success.

If you've never taken Calculus before, take Gallo. He makes sure the class gets it before moving on. He jokes with the class and keeps things interesting. He uses quality overheads and gives the students a copy to keep notes on. He hands out a good test review and the tests are fair. He makes calculus as easy as calculus can be. A great teacher.

Everything in these ratings are true. Don't wanna say he's easy, but ... ? , The best part about Mr. Gallo's class has got to be his sense of humor and his wanting for you to learn. He'll stop going on with the lecture if anyones lost (Not his fault if you don't ask questions)! Definitely, a superb teacher without any doubts!

Mr. Gallo was a great math teacher. He tested what he went over. Explained things in simply terms and tried to be funny with some of his jokes. Homework was optional. Very helpful if you didn't understand something that he went over. Handed out powerpoint sheets that covered things that he was going to be covering in class.

Absolutley great teacher, he loves his subject and his students. He really cares if you learn and is helpful anytime. He is very friendly and pleasant. He gives great handouts and review sheets for tests. He makes class fun and uses alot of real life examples. He is also very organized and structured on the board, that's a plus in a Math course.

Good teacher and willing to work with you. If I had any skills in math I would have gotten an A. He will help if you have problems and is available. Lectures are what the tests are based on. Not an easy A, but with a little work it shouldn't be too hard. I would take him again.

He's great for a math teacher! He gives you the formulas for tests and explains everything very well. Had him for evening class. If you're there all the time, it makes complete sense.

He is possibly the best math teacher I've ever had. He devoted some classes to working out problems and our questions. Try to get him if possible, if you go to class, you will pass.

I was dreading taking Stats, in fact I put if off until my last semester at the VB campus. I am SO glad I took Gallo, as I am fairly certain I would have failed had I had a prof that was less clear, and in general not as good.

Nice guy but very deceiving when it comes to tests. This is guy is willing to help out and he nice however, his class is EXTREMELY hard. The projects are a pain, in fact they are even harder than the actual material. Unless you have experience in Derive and are good with a calculator than he is for you.

he gives you power point slides for notes, it made it a bit difficult. he wasnt always clear on what he was teaching but he would spend a whole class explaining something if you asked, always avaible for help. allows make up test for a new grade, and test are only up to 20 questions long. hes a nice guy

I love how he uses slides to explain the problems. also he addes comics in the slides. He is every helpful and if you do the homework you will be fine for the quizzes. I am really enjoying math and look forward to taking stas. with him. he is one of the best teachers i have had.

The best math teacher I have had. Makes math easy to understand, especially for beginners. Quizzes every week off of homework, and you can use your notebook. Must work hard, no easy A. wants all of his students to do well so he will spend extra time if any are falling behind. This can put the class behind but you cannot have everything.

Took online class. Very organized and well paced. Excellent class notes (with examples) and powerpoint slides to learn concepts. Lots of opportunities for grades (homework, assignments, quizzes, exams). Fair grading system. Excellent study guides for exams. I never met Prof Gallo personally, but this was the best online class I have taken.

Very funny guy. He grades kind of easy. Just make sure to show some work and you will get some credit. I have no idea what I learned, but I got an A. Diffy Qs are tough everywhere though!

Gallo is great, easily in my top 2 for math prof(Enoch Bently is #1)I dreaded taking stats but he mad it so easy,very patient & helpful, go to class you'll do great. He gives you everything you need to suceed,useful study guide,(even the formulas on the test). I'm not a great Math student and I've gotten an A on every test,Take him, he's great!!

He is very helpful and cares about his students. He helps them when ever he can. But he does power points for the basic notes, just print them out and do the math next to it. He does 2 projects over the semester, witch is an easy way to bring up your grade. Home work not mandatory, but it does help. Take him he is amazing!

Mr. Gallo is a terrific math teacher. I was dreading having to take Statistics, but he makes it fun to learn. He is very knowledgeable and willing to help you when you are stuck. Helps in Math lab 1x per week which is helpful outside of class. Has 4 tests and final. Just study notes, powerpoint slides, do the reviews and you should do fine.

He walks you through the steps, answers questions in detail, and is always ready to help in and out of class. He's a smart guy who can teach. Highly recommend his class. Good sense of humor, nice smile. Do the work.. no extra credit.

I took this class online. This class is a lot of work. You have 18 assignments you have to complete, a couple of which are minitab assignments. Quiz weekly, and the 2 tests you have to take on campus. If you are confused about something, he doesnt bother to email you back.

Mr. Gallo is a really cool down to earth guy. He makes statistics as easy as he can, and he makes the class go by very quickly. Yes there is a lot of work, but that's a good thing because you don't have to do super well on tests to get a good grade in this class. Take him if math isn't your strongest subject!

He's kinda lame and nerdy. He likes to tell silly jokes too. But he's very calm and takes his time explaining. I never feel apprehension to ask him questions in class. The HW's online, and he makes you buy the book. Make sure you buy the calculator he recommends too! Anything else and you risk not being able to do certain operations.

Stat class was great. Highly recommend. Breaks material and formulas down and explains in detail. Also gives study guide for test, practice it and you should ace the tests. Also you can tell he loves teaching and is willing to do anything for his students to help. Bonus, because he is quite funny.

Mr. Gallo creates a welcoming classroom environment, one in which students feel just as willing to learn as they are to ask questions when they are uncertain. In addition, he is excellent at communicating otherwise abstract material (i.e. math) in a manner that simplifies it and makes it accessible. One of the best I have had in a while!

Mr. Gallo is an awesome teacher. He is very thorough and clear in his teaching and knows the topic of statistics very well. He only teaches on items that he will test on and gives a great test review guide. If you do the test review you will ace the test, because the questions are all the same. You really don't need the textbook.Made learning easy

Homework is on mymathlab, goofy personality, but really helpful. Do the assignments that he posts on blackboard they are easy you just follow steps and are guaranteed at least a c. Testing isn't difficult but if you do the homework on time then you will do well. He is very understanding and gives extensions on homework as needed. I recommend him!!

Fantastic teacher! Really wish he was teaching precalc. 2 next semester. Don't miss classes for he goes over every possible example so you know exactly how to do it. Gives great test reviews and a couple additional assignments, plus mathlab homework. He will push back due dates when necessary. He's very clear and good with answering any questions.

Great professor, funny, easy going. Statlab homeworks take forever, gives a lot of assignments. Don't miss many classes because he goes over examples that help when studying. Good about answering questions in class and through email. I would take him again. Do homework and study and you'll pass!

Mr Gallo's class was really fun. He's hilarious and even though stat is pretty boring he makes it an interesting class. It's still a tough class though and it's easy to fall behind if you miss an assignment or a class. I definitely recommend him

Mr. Gallo is such nice guy and a better teacher. He reads off powerpoints and then works problems with the class on the board while the information is still fresh in your mind. He answers any questions you might have and will throughly explain everything on the tests. His homework are questions on Blackboard and you have weeks to do it. reccomend

Very nice instructor. He is knowledgeable and willing to help. Be prepared to log 100+ hours in web assign over the course of the semester. There are additional assignments as well. This work does help. Very generous with partial credit. I would take again.

Mr. Gallo is a great prof. and an even better person, but the insane amounts of homework and assignments will surely make this course way more time consuming than it should be. Also, he does NOT make you memorize the majority of the formulas that you NEED to know for CALC 2. If moving on to higher level math, DO NOT TAKE, if not he is your man.

I'm taking him for Pre-Calculus, he is easy to understand however, the homework assignments are anywhere from 65-80 questions long online. He also gives additional assignments over the course of the semester and regular tests which he gives a review for. He is very nice and is willing to help in anyway he can. no extra credit though.

Statistics is tough, and he makes it fairly easy to understand. However, his test grading is rather harsh. Small errors will make you lose all your points. He gives a lot of out of class work. Online homework, and turn-in assignments. He is a very tough grader. He is a really nice guy though, and you can tell he really wants you to learn.

I took Mr. Gallo for Statistics (MTH157). Mr. Gallo is funny and makes the lectures interesting. There is online homework that can sometimes be lengthy, but easy to get 100%. Assignments are detailed and not too difficult. Tests are easy if you study the review guides. Fair grader, bonus Q's. Grades on your knowledge, not your final answer on test.

Mr. Gallo is so personable and helpful.. Make sure to do ALL homework, study guides and expect for the tests to be as difficult as the study guides. He has a quirky sense of humor and will ensure that you feel welcome in the class. He clearly understands that statistics isn't for everybody.

Mr. Gallo teaches because he enjoys teaching and it shows, he's great at explaining things. Super nice with nerdy humor. Homework is plentiful but very easy with step by step instructions. The test reviews are helpful and every test has bonus points, plus he gives partial credit if you show all your work. One of the best math profs I've ever had!

I took Prof. Gallo's first semester teaching MTH243 Probability and Statistics for Engineers and Scientists. This should transfer to ODU as STAT330. It was a great class. The textbook is fairly optional as he gives detailed PowerPoints that cover everything. You should go to every class and pay attention. Do the assignments.

Prof Gallo was awesome. I would definitely take him again. I got a B in his class, It was not because I didn't work for it. I am not a math person, I am really terrible at it, but I passed his class.

Prof Gallo is by far one of the best teachers I've had at this school. I would recommend taking his class, especially if you're not a big math fan. I ended up with a B because I didn't study for the final as I should. But, I carried an A throughout the whole semester. Plenty of homework and he's funny.

Professor Gallo was an excellent teacher for statistics. Not only was he reliable and open to give office hours and extra help, but he provides study guides and anticipates on his due dates. Passed with a B because I slacked in the beginning but passed the final with an A. Do the assignments!!

I'm not the best at math, but I did well in this class. There's a lot of homework but it helps your grade. He provides test reviews, so you know exactly what you need to know for the test. He is good at breaking down and explaining math. He's funny too which helps. Quick grader, good communicator, and gives an extra credit problem on every test.

Great guy, great lectures, he explains everything well however, he gives A LOT of assignments. A LOT. So many that it was hard for me to focus on my other classes while also attempting to complete all of his assignments. Don't take this class while you're also taking a science. Especially a biology.

Amazing Professor. First test, CAL2 Chapter 8 Integral test is very difficult for a lot of people. It is the only test I got a 69/D on. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE... and you will get an A.

Good guy, good professor. Taking him for my third time this semester. If you take good notes and study everything he puts on the test study guides, you will do fine. Class is hard, but he gives partial credit on his tests (which helps ALOT) and has extra credit problems on every test.

Yes, calc 2 is a very difficult class, but he is one of the better teachers because he is passionate about the subject.

Gives detailed syllabus of assignments with due dates. If class is cancelled, he gives an updated syllabus with updated due dates allowing for time to get work done. Reviews info in class before it's due. Gives study guides that closely reflect what is on test. Study and do all the assignments, if you do you will be fine. He's very kind. TAKE HIM!

Very funny and kind professor. Kind of a lot of homework. One take-home assignment per chapter (but its very difficult versions of related material). One extra credit question at the end of each test. Calc 2 is the hardest class at community college level (Calc 3 & ODEs are easier) and profesor Gallo makes it all very easy. Take him.

There was a lot of assignments, I would not recommend taking any other potentially difficult courses in the same semester as taking his STAT course. His lectures aren't very helpful due to the sheer volume of course material you are required to learn.

He's one of the better teachers I've had. If you pay attention in class and do your homework you'll get an A. He does give a lot of homework but it's pretty easy and covers all the material for the test.

Hes an incredible professor. Though it can get boring sometimes, he makes sure to throw a little humor in to lighten up the class. He made learning the material a breeze! Really easy to study bc study guides look just like tests. 10/10 would recommend.

Amazing teacher, really lays out all the material and takes his time to make sure everyone understands. Very personable and I enjoyed going to my math class. Give test reviews but does post a lot of homework. Homework can be overwhelming and teaches time management. Also posts "assignments" like projects but they are grade boosters.

I've never been great at math but he really helped to make sure everything was clear. Statistics is not an easy class but he does everything he can to teach well. Take him.
