The guy assigns you one chapter per week to read. Then you take a quiz about the chapter, all of them are written by him. Then you go over them in class. Two exams, non-cumulative, no curve. Questions are extremely convoluted and also written by him. I got my first F ever after taking this class. Avoid this professor at all costs!

This class was tough, to say the least. You must read the chapters, even twice sometimes, to succeed on daily quizzes (only need to get 710 to get daily credit), quizzes and tests written by him are quite difficult. He spends most classtime going over quizzes, so there is quite a bit of self-teaching involved. Take Solcher if GPA is crucial.

This class was ACCT3350, just at a graduate level. He gives one quiz per class, and bases the lecture over going over the quiz. Each quiz was 2% of your grade. It was excruciating to listen to his lectures. If you got 8/10 questions you got two points. However a 5/10 got you 0 points. Interesting lectures but not geared towards tests material.

Very inconsistent professor. The syllabus is unclear as to the way your grade is determined. Gives two exams. You have to pass the quizzes or you won't pass. His lecture style is poor because he bounces around & tells random stories. My biggest issue was he seemed annoyed when I asked for guidance in a real life situation.

He doesn't really teach too much during lectures. Every class he would just have random court cases googled and talk about them. But, some of those court cases are on the exam so go to class if you can. The exams are crazy easy. He passes out reviews and gives the answers every class. So just memorize the questions and answers. Easy A.

The professor has a fun personality. The class itself is based off the review questions and the textbook. Attendance isn't required but if you miss class that's a big portion off ur test that you wont know about. Not a bad way to learn blaw tho.

Pretty funny guy. Four exams, which are all easy as long as you generally read the textbook and look over the review packets he provides. He talks about court cases and current events in classes, but it's good to go because he goes over things that will be on the test. Very straightforward.

He is a fun professor, and his lectures are entertaining. But that being said, attendance is important because the worksheets he gives are crucial to passing this class. He has 4 tests which count for your entire grade; there are no extra credit opportunities or homework you can earn points for, so make sure to read the textbook and worksheets.

I liked the class, but there's a lot of reading, which could have been more interesting. The tests are medium easy, but I liked that the professor did chapter review notes that helped on the tests. Four exams are all that are graded. The lectures are somewhat dull, but I wouldn't recommend skipping class cause he doesn't post the review.

4 tests that make up your grade, no extra credit. Attendance isnt mandatory but if you don't go then you do not get the chapter review packets. Amazing test reviews before a test, but lectures can be very boring.

Professor Gamino is a pretty underrated professor in my opinion. His lectures are actually really interesting and he connects real-life events with the topic being discussed in the lectures. You definitely have to pay attention to what he says in his lectures and somewhat put effort into reading (which is not too much) you will be just fine.

BLAW 2301! I would only take him again cause he curved our final sem grade by 10 points, so like I had a B- & he gave me an A- for the sem. really pay attention to lectures cause he takes insignificant things he says & puts them on the test. only 4 exams no other grades, surprise extra credit pop quizzes based on reading. kinda funny but boring too

Gamino was a good teacher in means to in class discussions. He was very clear in his explanations but you have to take notes on the discussions cus there are no slides and they make up questions on the test. There are 4 tests which are the only grades but there is a curve at the end of the course. I recommend!!

Good professor, 4 exams were the entire grade. Exams included things only discussed in the lectures, so active listening and note taking is required for success. Textbook heavy, but you could likely pass if you just paid attention to the lectures. Often gave a list of what each exam question would cover, which made preparation easier.

Textbook chapters will be assigned for reading before every class. The only grades are three exams. Lectures are boring, but you need to pay attention because what he says will be on the exam. If you put effort into studying you can get an A. Exams are not too hard if you study. He does a test review with the topic of each question which is helpful.

He's a friendly guy but the class itself is not. Three exams (I think he changed his format because they are not all from review questions he gives us) that are pretty hard. He expects you to read and listen and immediately remember everything. Also the classes itself were pretty boring. I hear other professors are better.

If u don't read thoroughly + attend lectures, it'll be quite hard to get good grades. 3 exams only! so if u do badly on exams, there's nothing else to save u. exam questions are concept-heavy, so you better know ur stuff. Take notes, don't skip reading anything, know the differences between similar things & go to review days bc they're very helpful

A very straightforward professor. Three exams, which were all easy if you took good notes in the textbook. Lectures are good concept reviews if you already read the chapter(s) and elearning modules. He tells you exactly what will be asked on exams during the reviews, which saves a lot of time studying. Has plenty of humor to balance boring topics.

The pros of this class are that there is no homework except reading the textbooks. Cons are that the only grades are from 3 exams, so if you do badly on one exam, you must do better on the others. We also only got a 3-point curve from our final grade, not as much as I expected. It's hard to max his class - I'm surprised his UTD grades are so high.

Your grade is based off three exams (noncumulative). You must read the textbook and take notes if you want to succeed. Attendance isn't mandatory but some test questions are from in-class discussion. His lectures are informative but boring. Do not take this class if you're a bad test taker!

4 tests, 25 questions each. A total of 100 points through the semester. Everything from the test is taken directly from the lecture. He writes down the topics talked about during class so that he can make sure each test matches what each class talked about. DON'T MISS THE REVIEW DAY. He tells you exactly what will be on the test.

Very tough professor, I loved his teaching style, but there are minimal slides, and it is a tough class to take notes for. I enjoyed listening to him teach, so I took minimal notes. He brings news and current topics related to our learning, making learning interesting. The textbook for the class is also incredible.

Be prepared to feel as if studying its not enough in order to pass this class. Quizzes are extremely heavy and hard that it doesn't matter how many time you read the book or case studies he gives it's not enough to pass the quizzes of 10 questions. There's only one exam same as the quiz but with more questions.

I am so saddened to hear that professor passed away a week ago, he was a great professor. I took him for undergrad Tax one and Tax research for Grad school in Spring 2025. We had to write a paper every week and he would put the papers on the screen to blast us on how we wrote, it was so funny at times to see how awful we were writing. Fun class!!
