Mr. Gannon makes an otherwise boring class fun. He tells you EXACTLY what is going to be covered on exams, so if you fail, it's your fault! Attendence is required.

Makes a requirement fun and fascinating. Multiple choice tests(for you lazy kids) and it's all about repition(i.e. cue cards).Covers the history sociology with its past scholars and merges it with the ongoing study of society today. Great facts and interesting statistics. And make sure to ask him to play the guitar in class! Gannon rocks!

HE EXPECTS YOU TO READ THE CHAPTERS, AND SOME STUFF ON THE TEST THAT WAS NOT IN HIS LECTURES. VERY COOL GUY AND MADE THIS COURSE VERY FUN. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THANK PROF. GANNONS CLASS.

I loved this class! His unique way of teaching kept me interested all semester. He said at the beginning that we needed to read the book, and those of us that actually did, got good scores.

ud have to be a bit of a 'tard not to get at least a B in it. and if u study (otherwise known as cramming 2 hrs before class) for his exams, which are all MC, you'll get an A easily. 5 exams, no homework, no essays. must show up to class cos lots of groupwork and exams based on lectures. its one of the easiest A's. a funny guy too.

I took his online class. Class is easy if you read the book and his study guides. It is important to participate in the online discussions -do well and he gives extra points. There are 4 tests + the final- you drop the lowest score and can take each test 2 times (don't have the same questions). Just read a chapter a week.

The online class is great...it is not overwhelming at all. As long as you participate in the discussion questions and study the guides, you will at least get a B. Very good class. Would recommend it!

I took his live class and it was great! He makes the lectures fun, does interesting in class activities, and really makes a person love sociology. If you show up and take the notes, and study before the test you will get an A. He really wants his students to succeed.

AWESOME teacher! He keeps his class interesting and really fun. No homework. Show up to class to get group activity points. He tells you pretty much everything you need to know for each test. He's great! Took his online class. There are 9 discussion posts, no major assignments and he provides notes to download for his exams. 4 exams - all can be taken twice and he drops the lowest score. The final can be taken twice as well. He even posts pics of himself so you have an idea of who he is.

Took an accelerated 3-week class during the summer. Heavy on the reading but do-able. Don't be intimidated. You *can* do it. But definitely print out the online notes, read your chapters and make your own notes as well. I got an 'A', which means you can too.

Take any class that John teaches, he is the best!!!Excellent online teacher. Goals are clear, but if you have a question he will answer you immediately. Tests are somewhat hard, but you have 2 chances, and he will drop the lowest score. Weekly postings, which is expected for an online class. I would highly recommend him!!!!

I took the 4 week online class. Mr. Gannon is a great online professor! I wish I could have taken his class in person. The class requires quite a bit of reading and is very time consuming when shortened to 4 weeks. You must understand the material for the tests as opposed to memorizing information. Took the short 4 week summer course. There are 9 easy discussion assignments and 5 exams (4 + final) with lowest score of those 5 being dropped. The exams can be daunting but if you read the full chapters for each exam and do an outline of all the key words and subjects, you will do well. Interesting subject!

The work is simple as long as you do not procrastinate and read the book. The teacher does not seem very quick to help when students have problems, but states his rules clearly in the syllabus and it seemed like the only students with problems were the one who waited until the last day to take the test then Angel would fail and then he couldnt help

Took his full semester online class. 5 exams including the final, and 4 discussion that's it. The good thing is you get to drop your lowest of the 5 exams(including the final). It wasn't an easy class, but if you read the book you should get an A. I never read the book, and got a B.

I highly recommend Prof. Gannon. His class was fascinating to say the least. The material in the textbooks were easy to follow and the tests/assignments cover many sections in the book as well as the notes he provides. Application questions are used heavily so make sure to understand the concepts. In a nutshell, he's awesome!

I took Professor Gannon's class online and it was tough, but he is very helpful and really makes himself available to students via skype and other means. The class which I was not interested turned out to be very interesting and he has a very good textbook. In a world of average professors, CSN students are lucky to have him.

Took online class. Test questions are hard but you get to take it twice and use the notes and book. READ and look over the notes and you will be fine. Plenty of chances at extra credit. Took his online class, you have to do 4 writings 4 tests 1 final and he drops the lowest test score out of all of the tests you take and the adds all the points plus your writings. the tests are easy because he takes right out of the book. so read the book and you should do well on the tests

Take this class online!! There are 4 exams and 4 short 500 word essays. Two attempts at each exam. Hardly any book use other than some essays from the readings and to study from. Very easy course compared to taking it in person. He is also available on Skype for online help. I feel like he wants to see his students succeed unlike most professors.

He is very chill. I asked for help, and he gave me ways to study for his exams. Drops your two lowest journals, and lowest exam. he gives out extra credit by note cards , and also work done in class. Every day is some sort of points. He is inspirational, shows you the meaning of a real teacher, and expresses himself. He'll even crack out a guitar.

This class was awesome. A bit of reading, but fairly easy. The semester is divided up into 4 modules. 4 practice quizzes in each mod (not graded) and one exam per mod which you have 2 chances to take and plenty of time. Everything is due twice a month, 1 exam and 1 assignment. Not much work. Do not expect to pass the tests if you do not read. The tests are 50 questions. No, the answers are not easy to find on quizlet. The assignments are easy.

Probably the easiest class out of the 50 credits I have taken so far at community college. He practically begs you to turn in your homework on time. I almost felt cheated.

I took this class for the credits but I got something good from taking it. The book is kind of long but you need it for the journals. John makes passing this class easy and fun. Do well on his four exams and you don't have to do the final. I truly would take another class with him because he's caring and gives good lessons.

I took his online SOC 101 class and wow is this easy! Very nice grader and he barely gives any homework. A very, very. very laid back class. A few tests, definitely not hard to pass. Really great, easygoing teacher! Gives consistent feedback and puts in grades in a timely manner. To do well on the exam you have to review his notes and go through the textbook, but its nothing too complicated! He has a fair amount of assignments and exams, for you to receive a fair grade. Took this class online due to quarantine, though I dread online classes. This was a really easy one, We got about 5 assignments, and 5 Exams, lowest exam dropped (I Think). And really everything was super easy and spaced out, I probably only had to log into canvas and complete an assignment and exam ONCE EVERY WEEK, which I couldn't ask for better

This professor is great. He grades within a reasonable timeframe and always provides feedback which is nice. If you submit an assignment early, he will grade and will let you resubmit if you want fix to get a better grade by the due date. He has optional discussions where he replies to every one who contributes. He is always willing to help. Great!

This professor was amazing! Whenever I needed help I could reach out and get a reply less than 24 hours. Gives extra credit. He will drop your lowest quiz grade and two low reflection assignments. It is impossible to fail, unless you dont do the work.

It was a pretty simple and easy class but there was a lot of reading. He's a decent and simple grader but beware grammar mistakes will be caught if you make any. quizzes on every chapter read and some reflections. One paper and that's pretty much it.

Prof Gannon is an amazing teacher. He is kind and caring. You have mainly quizzes and reflections for your grades. There is a paper but is was easy if you are keeping up on the course. Expectations for the course are very clear, I took the summer course and it is hard no to pass this class. You basically gotta read 2 chapters which are not too long, do one reflection (short paragraph) and take a 25 question quiz all related to the material on the text book.

Professor was nice and helpful when I emailed him. After his feedback my grades improved. As a professor he is great. Every two weeks you have a reflection which isn't too hard. You also have a 25 question quiz. Read and use lecture notes. Quizzes are all pretty difficult to get done. You will definitely use all 50 minutes for your quizzes.

The short paragraphs he asked for each assignment are super easy to complete. as long as you can link one of the many subjects covered in the weekly readings to your personal life. He paces the course very well and makes it very easy. Every 2 weeks you are going to have a short writing about the last 2 chapters and a fairly simple quiz. It helps to read the book about the key topics but, in some cases just skimming it will do.

Mr. Gannon has clear grading criteria. English is my second language and I managed an A. Just show that you care in your assignments and you will do just fine. He really does give you everything you need to be in control of your grade. Even second attempts on quizzes. Take him and you won't even have to buy another book! Free text resource.

Kind and supportive professor. He gives you two chances to complete the quizzes. NONE of the questions will be found on Google or Quizlets. So the bottom line is to come to learn, read the book, PowerPoints, and Lecture Notes, and know your material before taking the quizzes. If you miss a class, you can do a quick write-up to keep points. Easy A.

Sweet teacher who provides good feedback. Each week you do either a chapter quiz or chapter reflection (pick a chapter key term and write about how it relates to your life and experiences). Watch out for spelling errors to not lose points. Would say the only downfall was his quizzes were overly detailed but he gives 2 ATTEMPTS ON QUIZZES AND FINAL.

I would tell anyone going into his class to do the notes the way he recommends and to read the textbook. If you do those things to study you will do great! The learning part is on you! I can honestly say this Professor made me cry.... because his compliments on my work was so nice! I've never had anyone be so kind and encouraging to me.

Professor Gannon was the most efficient and comprehensible professor I've had. You genuinely learn in this course. There is one chapter test and one 250-word paper every week, with optional discussions. (There are also self-evaluations for points too). Prof. Gannon always provided excellent feedback, stuck to criteria, and was benevolent.

I took this online. Lots of reading. One week you read two chapters and write a small reflection on a key term that relates to your life. Next week is a quiz on those two chapters. He sends you what to study and focus on. Plenty of time to study and very low work load.

The textbook is free and easy to use, and you're graded off of 1 quiz and 1 chapter reflection per week. This course was fairly easy and the professor was very helpful and understanding! He seemed to care a lot about his students! He also gives good feedback for assignments. Grades are based on super easy reflections and quizzes. There's also an optional final since your lowest quiz grade is dropped.

Take Professor Gannon! He provides the digital textbook for free and offers lecture notes and slides for each chapter (use them!). His class consists mainly of chapter reflections and chapter quizzes (two attempts). The reflections were easy and super fun. As long as you follow his rubric, which he makes very clear, it is an easy A!

Prof. Gannon is an amazing professor who cares a lot about his students. There are chapter tests online about every week that are easy if you take notes and pay attention in class. He also gave us the book for free! He makes learning soc fun :)

TAKE HIS CLASS!!! Best professor I've had. Discussion posts optional, only 1 quiz every other week on 2 units and 1 reflection paragraph every other week (6 quizzes +1 final quiz + 6 reflections + 1 midterm/final reflection). He's very nice, and is very responsive to any concern you have. Gives back great feedback on every reflection!!

Professor Gannon makes this course fun and engaging. With free textbook access, regular quizzes and reflections, and helpful feedback, you can easily earn a strong grade. unstuck study was a game-changer for study prep.

This class was so simple. One chapter read a week, then one quiz to the chapter. That's it.

Professor Gannon made online summer school EXTREMELY easy to follow. All you had to do was read the assigned chapter/ chapter notes and take a chapter quiz. Would recommend this class if you have a hectic schedule.

Super easy class, and the professor is really nice. Textbook is free, and all he has is quizzes for each chapter and some easy written assignments for midterm/final. Take him!

Loved this class, it is mainly quizzes, but if you read the chapters assigned you'll be good. He was very responisve and understanding, overall great professor definetly take this class.
