He likes to talk off the subject which is good cause it waste time

hilarious guy! he's always trying to make biology as simple as possible so it's easier to grasp. easy A if you just go to class and take notes. i didn't read anything, studied my notes for an hour and got an A. if you don't mind a teacher who gets scatter-brianed, you'll like him.

He is a fun teacher. He makes learning bio fun and interesting. The test can be a little hard but if you study and listen in class then you will be fine.

Outstanding teacher. Very funny and is very clear when teaching. As he teaches he tells you questions off of his tests. As long as you study and keep up with the material you can get an A easy. Best Microbiology teacher by far.

Relatively easy class. I went but only studied for a few hours before the tests. He really breaks down confusing concepts and describes them OVER and OVER again. The final is comprehensive and worth more than the other tests so prioritize studying accordingly.

Doesn't stay on topic. Lectures and study guides follow tests very much. A lot of self teaching, but his stories are funny. Whole grade is tests, so don't take if you are bad at taking tests.

He really gets into his lectures and makes them interesting. He also cares that his students are learning and answers their questions really well.

He was very entertaining and helped make the material aplicable and clear. He was very patient even with the whining students in my class. He was the funniest when he didn't mean to be.

I loved Bro. Griffith. Made microbio interesting - tests easy if you study slides and go to class. Definitely recommend him! Tons of fun, and prepares you for exam.

This guys the man! All his test are taken right from his powerpoints. Your grade is 100% unit tests. No extra work. This man is funny stuff!!!.. usually goes off on some story.

Bro Griffith is great guy. He makes Micro interesting and applicable. I think he teaches well just don't be afraid to raise your hand and ask questions if you don't understand. If you study for the tests really well you should do great.

Love this guy! Class is relatively easy. Doesn't use book, all his notes are on powerpoints you can print off. His test are all taken directly from the powerpoints as well. Marks only based on exams. Will tell you straight out if something with be on the exam. Really funny, and loves to tell stories. Only puts on the exams what he has gone over!

He tells a lot of stories and goes off on a lot of tangents. There is not a textbook, just uses power points and talks and articles. The test isn't that bad, unless you don't pay attention and don't study for it.

Bro Griffith is a great guy. He loves what he talks about, he is passionate about it. He doesn't make the class too hard. The test is the most difficult, but as long as you do a fairly good job of studying, you should be fine.

He is a very funny teacher. He knows his material and is always telling stories and going off topic, which makes class so much fun. When there is homework, it is fairly easy. Tests are easy if you study them, and he always give a study guide which goes along pretty well with the tests. GREAT TEACHER!

He is a fun teacher and does go off on tangents from time to time. I dont think a lot of the ratings he has is very fair. He does cover the material and gives you a study guide thats very similar to the test. All the answers you need are on the powerpoint. I think he does a good job and is a funny guy. I recommend him to anyone.

Im surprised hes ratings arent higher. I really enjoyed his class, very funny guy. not alot of points in the class,so study hard.all the info is in the slides/readings etc so READ IT and know it! And you'll get an A. his office is open if you need extra help. Id take another course from him.

He is way nice and goofy! and a great person, but really boring and kind of hardish class. Make sure you read the chapter and fill out the study guide and you should do fine if you study hard. That was my mistake. I would recommend him.

I LOVED Bro. Griffith. He's one of the goofiest teachers I've ever had, and I thought it was hilarious. His quizzes were super easy if you did the reading assignment, and his tests were pretty easy if you fill out and study the study guide he gives out. He was very helpful and clear about what he wanted. I would definitely recommend him to anyone.

If you need FDSCI 101, YOU MUST TAKE THIS TEACHER! Want an A? Take Griffith. If you do like the 4 quizes the whole semester and do good on the 3 test you are good. Dont worry about the tests (he gives you a identical study guide and it pretty much the test) he will give you all the answers. Quizes are a cake walk. He is a great funny awesome guy!

Honestly, At first I was scared to take this class. But brother Griffith makes things really clear and super helpfull. His jokes bring a great sense of humor to his class. He also mentions questions that will be on the test, this was super helpful because they are easy points. Case studies in his class arnt bad at all. Look at the power point= test

Brother Griffith is great! He knows everything about his subject and can make class fun. His explanations can be a little funky and he sometimes comes across as scatterbrained, but class is easy: fill out the study guide, do a few out of class assignments and you'll get an A, (also no study groups! :D).

He is a great teacher! His humor is able to keep the students attention. He can get sidetracked at times, but if he misses material, then it won't be on the test. His tests are fair, and he curves them to where the high get an 100%. I would definitely take him again if I could! He teaches FD courses as well, and I heard those are cool too.

Bro. Griffith is a wonderful man. His class isn't too hard. If you pay attention to the lectures, you'll do fine on the tests. He will do absolutely anything to help you understand. He's so easy to talk to and he has a TON of knowledge crammed up in his brain. Take any class you can from him.

I really enjoyed this class. Brother Griffith knows a lot about what he is talking about and has lots of examples to share. He provides study guides on ilearn that you can print out and fill in as you go along. All the information you need to know for the tests is covered through the study guide. By using the study guide this class is fairly simple

Brother Griffith is so funny. He makes the class fairly enjoyable with his humor. I'm not the biggest fan of science, but he made it more fun and understandable because we integrated religion with it, which was interesting. Be sure to study for the tests. You'll get an A in the class if you take time to study effectively. Great class!

BEST TEACHER EVER! He is hilarious and makes funny jokes that are not that funny but the fact he is laughing at them makes them makes them 10x funnier. Class is not that hard. Many assignments to read are long, though it is not that hard to find the answers to them, no textbook needed, power points online, test easy if you work on the study guide.

Great hilarious teacher! made us leanr, and rmeber things due to his stories, if you like comedy and humor take him. He makes the class enjoyable.

Such an awesome teacher. He gives you everything you need to know for the tests and if you study that, you are guaranteed to get an A. He does have some quizzes, but they are open notes and not hard and there's barely any homework. Attendance is not mandatory but he grades a lot on participation and if you aren't in class, you can't get any points.

Brother Griffith's class was somewhat boring for me since I don't really enjoy science. Tests aren't too bad if you study with someone and fill out the review sheet throughout the lectures. He tells the same jokes every semester (and you can tell) but he's still pretty funny and a very kind guy. He is very passionate about his topics.

I saw some really bad rating on his FDSCI 101 class. My honest opinion is that these were ratings given by stereotypical BYU-I students who are too unaccomplished to get in to BYU and so are at BYU-I and lack the resolve to get a decent grade in a general credit class. Bro. Griffith is awesome and warrants a better rating.

He grades off the the material on his slides and explains things really well in class. Sometimes outright gives you answers to questions on the exams. Only grades off of exams and a few case study quizzes. Case studies can be taken twice. He does not curve tests. Put in the effort and you'll get an A. He is a little corky but in a good way.

Brother Griffith knows what he is teaching and he teaches it in a very effective way. He was fun to learn from and he tries hard to make sure that everyone succeeds in his class. He loves to joke around and make you feel very comfortable. He is a good teacher and a great personal, he works with you and anything else that may come up in the semester

Difficult class, but very enjoyable. He knows what he is talking about and his study guides are great format for notes since they are exactly what the test is going to be like. Extremely fun to learn from. Overall grade is test and quiz driven, so be sure to study carefully. Class TA's really help and they all truly want you to succeed.

All the material is taught by powerpoint. He is very enthusiastic about the material and an entertaining teacher. He's very willing to answer questions. He provides study guides that go over all the test material and will help you if you miss an answer to a question on the study guide.

The most fun I have ever had in a college class. He keeps things interesting and answers questions very well. The rating you see is entirely deserved by him. Make sure you do the reading though, and watch out for I-learn problems! He is NOT tech savy.

I loved Bro Griffith's class. Easily one of the best classes I've taken here. I was dreading a class on evolution here to be overly-religious & focused on creationism, but he's really about the science & leaves religious interpretation up to you (THANK GOODNESS). Really kind guy, learned a lot in his class. Fascinating subject matter too.

Brother Griffith demonstrates a clear understanding of how a lecture should be conveyed, and he understands the material he teaches. He is a little goofy, but it only makes the lectures even better. . He does a great job at treating his students like their in college and not still in High school. Great professor!

I'm not a huge fan of science, but I enjoyed coming to this class-Brother Griffith made it interesting. He is very nice and has an odd sense of humor that will keep a smile on your face. Show up for class to fill out the study guide - because that information is what you need to know for the tests. Work hard and you should easily pass.

Bro Griffith was a great teacher! He is super goofy which makes class really entertaining. Your grade in class comes from tests and case study quizzes that are open book and internet (basically you get a scenario and you identify the microbe that causes it) There isn't credit for going to class but if you miss class you won't do well on tests.

Amazing class! Bro. Griffith is a great teacher and encourages class discussions. Not a ton of homework and the book is very interesting, there's study guide you can use to take note and he is clear about what will be on the exams. You need to be very open-minded about the subject though or this class will not be easy for you to digest.

All I have to say is that he is a great Professor. His class was my favorite this semester.

4 tests including a comprehensive final, but he provides a study guide for the entire class which he makes sure to cover every question on during lectures. You will need to know how to study for an A, but he sets you up for success, he even gives actual test questions in class. The book is unnecessary, tests are completely off his powerpoints.

Make sure you study for the tests since that is about 80% of your final grade. Use notes taken in class, the tutor, and his powerpoints to study for tests and you'll do great!

Brother Griffith is an amazing professor. He not only shows how passionate he is about biology, but teaches in a way to where you are sharing his enthusiasm and find new things to love about biology. Brother Griffith is hilarious. He does get on tangents a lot, but they were always interesting tangents due to the nature of the class (Evolution: Neanderthals and other successes). He is very respectful of student opinions and finds a logical way to weave the Gospel into his class. The class is fun, and the topics are intriguing.

bro Griffith is super cool and interactive and funny but I think he overcomplicates things in his lectures. he's really knowledgable and that's cool but he says way too much and it gets confusing because almost none of it is on the test. not a lot of assignments, only like four and then three tests. good guy, dumb class

Brother Griffith is so funny! He teaches in lectures, but they are very entertaining and interactive. All the material on his exams is presented beforehand in a study guide-- as long as you fill out the study guide, you should do well on the exams. Pay attention, show up, and do the online assignments and quizzes, and you should be fine! 10/10.

Brother Griffith is very informative and well educated. He knows the subject matter well and his lectures are great. Beware: He may go off track.

Bro Griffith is super understanding. He knows his stuff for sure and only wants us to do well in his class. He has study guides with the exact answers and questions that will be on the exams. He's hilarious too, which is handy since some people (including myself) might think that the science we learn is pretty dry. I had him for FDSCI101 too.

Seriously the best. My sister and her husband took two classes each from Bro. Griffith; he was the only professor they told me I HAD to take. He tells the same stories and jokes every year and they're good every year. He takes you through every expectation of what you need to know and is quick to help if there's a problem. You won't want to skip.

Brother Giffith is one of my absolute favorite teachers. He is so nice and really cares about what he is teaching. He is usually very good about giving you all the resources necessary to succeed. He usually does this during class. I barely went and it was hard but he was willing to teach me during office hours so I could be successful on tests.

He is one of the best professors I've ever had. He wants you to get an A on all the exams and provides a study guide that has the questions for the exam directly on it. If you memorize the study guide and take the practice exams, you will get an A on all the exams.

Br. Griffith is seriously the funniest professor I've ever head. Like many have said, he gets distracted easy, but fortunately the class is easy enough that it doesn't impact the class very much. The tests are straight forward and based heavily on the study guide. He is very accessible outside of class and more than willing to clarify missed ideas.

Brother Griffith lectures every class, however he makes it fun. He's constantly cracking jokes that actually pertain to what we're learning. He prepares everyone well for the exam. You're given a study guide that you can fill out while class is in session. Just memorize the study guide and there's no reason you won't get at least an A.

He is incredibly smart but also able to admit he's a human being and doesn't know it all. He doesn't act superior to students and he is willing to work with you.

Yeah, I got a D, but I'm going to retake it with Brother Griffith again. He gives you a study guide with everything you need to know for the exams. He's happy to explain something 10 times if you need him to. He would sometimes make review sessions outside of class before the exams.

Attendance is not a grade, but going to class benefits you a ton. He is very clear about what is on the test and what is not. Very understanding as a professor. Makes class enjoyable. Do not invest in the textbook. He says that you should read before class but it doesn't affect understanding.

Its a long study guide, but it is worth your time to do it. I made note cards from it and if I didn't do that, I definitely would not have passed with an A

Attendance wasn't mandatory in my case since it was during the quarantine. Lecture links were provided for my own personal time. He's awesome. Humorous, great at explaining concepts, and really structured. Just listen to lectures, do the homework, fill out the study guides, and you will pass the class very easy.

I love Brother Griffith. Yes, this is a hard class. But he tells you exactly what you need to know. You will do well, if you work hard. He is willing to help and answer any questions you may have. I loved Brother Griffith! Easily one of my favorite teachers. He does get off-topic and behind sometimes, however, he will always adjust the exams to the level where the class is at. He is always sure to tell you exactly what is on the exam, just pay attention. He won't round final grades but is willing to help you understand so you won't need it.

Br. Griffith is awesome. I took immunology with him and there is a lot in this class but he makes it very simple about what we need to focus on for exams. He explains things very clearly for everyone to understand and even postpones exams to get through the material and make sure his class understands. He makes this class straight forward course.

He gets off track sometimes in lectures but the way he explained concepts made it very easy for me to understand. I came to every class even though it was not required just because it was the easiest way for me to learn. No homework, just a few quizzes, and exams. Recorded lectures are available as well. He's also very funny.

Bro. Griffith is a great professor. The study guides really are not small but often times he even tells you the exact same answers from the exam. He also can repeat anything that is unclear as much as needed. There is no stress within his course.

He makes going to classes a fun experience

There is no busy work in this class, no assignments throughout the week except for the occasional case study (super easy). If you go to class, the test will be incredibly easy because he tells you exactly what's on it. He isn't the best at answering emails but if you put the smallest effort into this class you will get an A

Brother Griffith is great! The only assignments are case studies, quizzes and tests. Tests are the most important by far. Brother Griffith gives tons of test questions in class so go to lecture. Brother Griffith was a good teacher, he would give us some of the answers to exams in class and would try to help us the best he could to prepare for the exams. I learned a lot and he tells a lot of cool and interesting stories about him being in labs. He often goes on tangents but it helps us all have a break from lecture for minute.

This guy is a hilarious professor. His humor is amazing. He helped me a lot outside of class. I respect him. His tests were hard. It was difficult to know what we needed to know, even with a study guide. textbook interested me in immunology- it is written like a story. Go to the tutor before exams if you want an A while also maintaining your sanity
