I cant pass math without this guy, if you same problem i advise you find this guy he is at gcc north for the most part and i would not have got out of math ever if not for this guy.

I hated math until this class, only took it to fulfill a prerequisite. After the first lecture I knew I was going to have success. He literally goes through EVERY step, EVERY time. At first I thought it was a little much but then realized because he is so thorough everything sank in and I formed good habits doing my work. Thank you John!

I absolutely hated math before this class. He walks you through every step, step by step. He has an online tool to help along the way if it is needed. He has an open door policy. He is the best math teacher I have had from elementary to now. I wish that he was teaching MAT142 I would sign up for his class right now.

If you watch the videos and do the homework, he lets you use a 3x5 card for the tests. His finals are optional if you're happy with your tests scores. He is constantly available for help and truly wants to see you succeed.

John Grima structures the class, lectures, & materials for the student success! He is not only the best math teacher, thus far he is the best teacher I have had at MCC. If you need any of the classes he teaches I would recommend taking his classes, even if you have to travel to another campus.

Math has always been challenging for me - I missed some major building blocks when I was a youngster in elementary school - anyhow, if Mr. Grima can help a student like me pass Math 120 and do WELL, than he can help anyone. He teaches in a way that is step-by-step. If you struggle in math, try his 5 credit, 4 day a week class.

He is so patient and really takes the time to teach. He teaches to each person's learning ability by using his YouTube page, working all of the odd numbered problems in class and answering questions on them, he teaches by doing, he is pretty funny when he tells his stories, he is calm yet he can control the class, and he is very nice.

Mr. Grima is excellent he care about student's budget which is why all his lectures are recorded and no book is needed. Class attendance is not necessary as long as the homework is completed and turned in via email the day before the test and are present for all 4 tests. I highly recommend him to those with busy schedules and cannot always go.

This was one of my best math teacher I have had in all the math classes I have taken. I took a hybrid class which means that the lectures were all on you tube. However, they are so easy to follow and he is great at explaining things to the T. Now the videos can be long and tedious but if you watch them and do your homework you will pass the class!

Great teacher! Don't have to buy an expensive book because all materialhomework is online. Lectures were long, on youtube. However, if you get the concept you can easily fast forward through the lecture to be able to complete homework. Had test reviews before the tests which helped to know what to study for the test.

Even though this is a hybrid class, it was great because all of the work you need is online and if you don't understand something, he will explain it to you either before class, during class, or during his office hours. This is my second time taking his class and I don't regret it. Exams are like the review's so show up for those. Great teacher!

I honestly didnt like this class. Its in class to take tests and do reviews, and you learn ALL the material online watching youtube videos. if your willing to put in hours and hours teaching yourself in a way then this is for you.

Grima is the math god. Math is my weakness but strangely I understood math when I took his class! Seriously he explains math in the simplest terms where I'm like thats it?? thats so easy. He's mini stories are hilarious during lectures. I love his sense of humor and his teaching style. I wish he teaches all the higher math level.

This class was great! Lectures are very long videos online, but it's nice because once you get it you can fast forward through some sections. John was an excellent teacher. His practice tests have problems exactly like those on the real test, & he is always accessible. He is very forgiving of stupid oversights. He also lets you use a notecard if you show him your homework, & has videos if you can't (or don't) attend class. He knows many other MAT teachers & can help with future classes.

Prof. Grima is by far my favorite math professor!! He is super helpful, has his own website that you can re-watch his lectures just in case you need any further instruction. I never thought I would do so well in math and he is the very reason why!

Prof Grima is truly one of the best! I was horrible at math when I was in high school, so much so that I had to drop out of Algebra II just to graduate. I actually understand what I'm doing! Good explanation, teaches many ways as to benefit the most number of students. Spends lots of time on each question which is great if you do not understand. Overall great class and fantastic professor!

If math is something your struggle with, take Grima. He did great explaining the material, and if you have any questions he will answer them for you. His tests were very similar to the practice tests, and there was even an option for taking extra credit.

AH MAZ ING ! The best math teacher ever! I have taken a lot of math classes in my life and this was by far the best math teacher I have ever had. He breaks the material down so easy on his YouTube videos that I'm confident my 5 year old would pass. Yes, he is that good. If you don't get an A you are really slacking.

YES YES YES This teacher is the absolute BEST at GCC. I never want to take another math class that isnt taught by grima. He is the way to go when pursing math classes at gcc. He has around 7 exams throughout the semester, the homework is optional. And the final is optional.

In class you have the opportunity to go over the subject with him to make sure you really have a good grasp on it. He definitely cares about the success of each student. I highly recommend him.

Im not a math person and i have a really hard time even understanding it. He puts all his videos on how to do things on youtube which is great because i can watch it over and over. Just show up to do the tests and study with his videos and you will be fine. He knows that math is hard and teaches it in a way you can understand.

I loved this class. Homework is very easy and the lecture videos are on YouTube, but if you have any questions you can see him in his office. Practice worksheets when there is not a test. If you do all the homework you are allowed to use a notecard on each test. Easy A. I would take him again if I can.

John teaches the coursework by video accessed by youtube. You also go to his class once a week since it's a hybrid. You have 4 tests during the class and one makeup. His style of teaching is on a level you will understand. If you do the work you will get an A. I haven't taken a math course in 25 yrs. Great class!

Hands down my favorite professor since I started college almost three years ago. I have taken three of his courses although I live next to main! I passed each semester with above a 92%. He was such an amazing prof and had the setup locked down to make sure we still learned despite required online classes. The semester is graded off of five tests but he's such an amazing lecturer that it's easy to get a good grade. I took mat212 before and had to drop out because it was hard to understand the prof, but John made it like a breeze!

The grade in the class is pretty much just from tests. If you watch the videos he provides and do the practice tests, you should pass with an easy A. The practice test are just like the real ones.

The class is very straight forward. You can choose to be lazy and only take the test, but you'll probably fail. As long as you watch the videos and do the recommended homework and practice test, you will be set up for success. The videos are very easy to follow and this has been my favorite online class ever.

took his MAT212 online, was worried about online math but he made it easier than any other math class I have ever taken! quick to respond and cares. His lectures are all online and sooo easy to follow. For my class, homework was not graded nor behind a due date, so you can take your time to learn at your pace. Only tests are graded. Best professor.

Attendance and punctuality is crucial with professor Grima. He is an amazing professor though, prepares students well for exams and really breaks down material so it is easily absorbed, he cares for his students and is passionate about mathematics!

This is the first math class I have ever taken where I got an A freaking PLUS! John is an absolute angel. His lectures are full of information, the best math teacher I've ever had. I was able to take the math tests within 10 minutes and pass with an A. Got an A on the OPTIONAL!!! Final as well.

Coming from a person who always thought of themselves to be TERRIBLE at math, Professor Grima helped me understand the subject like no one else before. He has all of his lectures on his website. He goes over the test reviews, and the test itself is 99.9% identical to the practice tests. Zero loop-hole questions, amazing lectures!

John is an amazing professor! He made it clear that if you showed up to class, you SHOULD pass! HW was on his website, but it wasn't mandatory, it was only required of you if you wanted to retake a test. Lectures consisted of test prep, and for once, a teacher went over all that was going to be on the test! Never been good at math, but I passed!

I took MAT142 with Grima years ago, and I still remember him because he is just that amazing. He explained math in a way that I could actually comprehend. When I had a job interview during finals, he let me come during office hours to take the test. He went out of his way to be there so I could still pass the class and get the job I needed.

This professor was AMAZING!!! I had always been very bad at math, but I had Grima for MAT151, and ended with a 98%. He is such an amazing teacher and explains everything so well. The study guide and old practice test are IDENTICAL to the test, just different numbers. If you do the HW, you can use a flashcard!

I would recommend Professor Grima for brief calculus. Straightforward lectures; punctual.

Great proffesor. He does a phenomenal job explaining mathematical concepts. The only downside is he runs through lessons fast so you have to have a mind that can keep up and be okay with getting back on topics you don't fully understand so you won't get behind on the new information he is teaching.

Mr Grima is great teacher. If you took MAT 114 or the class to prep your for 151 then this class wont be that difficult. If not you better be savy algebra before hand or you will struggle. Basically, tests scores determine your grade. Attend lecture, watch all his videos on how to do the homework packets, and practice the test reviews and you will do well in the class. This is a practice problem heavy class but trust me you will be better off. Professor is nice and as long you ask questions he can help you understand the material.

Incredible professor. I came into the class taking it as review as I had a 4 year hiatus from highschool. Professor Grima does not waste your time or make you do unnecessary homework. Generally he will go over how to do every problem once then proceed onto practice tests which will well prepare you for real tests.
