Professor Harris has a great sense of humour, goes out of his way to help you, and marks very fairly. Also, he was able to answer our questions on English grammar with perfect clarity in less than 10 minutes...things that my English prof wasn't able to explain in 50 minutes. I would recommend Professor Harris to anyone!

John is an amazing prof, he is passionate about mythology, but his class is tough if you are not good at memorizing a million names. His exams are half MC, half fill in the blank with spelling counting; So difficult. There are like 12 lectures+ per exam. I withdrew as our/my class averages were very low, also his grade scale is bumped really high.

AMAZING PROF! Slides had tons of detail and he explained the myths really well during lecture. Only 3 exams, NON CUMULATIVE, worth 33% each but if you know the myths you'll do just fine. Answered questions well and made sure to get pictures from myths depicting what we were learning. Cannot recommend enough!!!!!

I loved this class with John. He is a great lecturer, very knowledgeable, and accessible outside of class. There is only 3 things to be graded on, so study hard. I didn't take notes for this class but made Quizlet flashcards as he lectured and got above 90 on all of the exams. Truly an interesting course that I always recommend to everyone.

Dr. Harris is so knowledgable, very approachable, and a fantastic lecturer. Greek is not easy (not at all), but he made it so much more accessible through his teaching methods. Awesome professor and an awesome class. Take him if you can.

He intimidated me at first but you can ask questions and he's really good at lectures, he definitely puts in effort for the class. He assigns quite a bit of homework but it's just good practice. I guess it's not his fault that ancient Greek makes me loose my mind…

I appreciate Prof. Harris so much. Lectures were early, and sometimes attendance and participation would suffer as a result, but he gave some of the best lectures anyways. He was never deterred and gave interesting and engaging lectures every time. Greek is hard, but it would've been 10x harder with anyone else teaching it. Harris is the best.

Fantastic class and prof. There would be slides given to study for, and the exams are straight up memorization. It included questions asking for names, locations, definitions, some Greek/Latin vocab, and some author/philosopher names. The questions are all found from the lecture slides. Atrocious font tho. Absolutely breaks my brain.
