Great teacher, he is absolutely hilarious, fun to be in his class, is able to hold the class's attention even through dry material, great guy...very highly recommended.
What a guy... great sense of humor... Will remember you a year later.
The guy doesn't know anything. This class revolves around the redundancy of "privacy is good" and other obvious and boring parts of the Internet. Simple class. 3 essays and the midterm and final. DO NOT DO 4TH CREDIT with him.
awesome teacher.. you learn so much.. a lot of work, but worth it. he keeps class interesting and is really funny. take him!
Really nice guy. 3 essays per semester which are really easy. Just cram as much info into 4 pages about the topic and you're golden. Midterm and Final which are fine if you study for them. Never have to read for class. Just show up and you'll do fine.
Very helpful. His lectures are always funny. Gives examples and extra credit that really add to the lectures.
he was cool and pretty easy
great guy, always in a good mood regardless of the day.
This guy is absolutely hilarious. Take him for 101 if you can. He'll keep your attention and the tests and other work aren't that hard.
HORRIBLE!!! STAY AWAY!! huge womanizer, talks out of his ***. not a nice person, his tests are extremely hard, and if you don't read the book cover to cover your screwed. seriously, take someone else.
horrible 103 teacher. stay away. funny class but screws your GPA in the end.
Great guy. But he does expect students do work and prepare for class. If you are looking for an easy A this is not the best class to take. But if you put in effort it is easy to do well. Smart guy. Very knowledgable about the law.
Expects you to know alot, ont he harder side but not too bad, but is a really nice guy and is very funny.
This guy is hilarious! There are only 3 tests on the readings/class notes + one paper. He may be a little difficult, but he's sooooo funny.
This guy is wicked hard. However, if your studious and can pay attention you'll be set for a 3.0.... dont plan on getting higher than a 2.3 if your chillin in class
one of the hardest GB103 teachers, but he is SO funny and one of the few classes that i actually look forward to going to. He grades easily on open response test questions & essay. you just need to do well on the multiple choise and t/f.
He was very good/easy for GB101 but he was very hard for 103. Completely different teacher for 103- do not take him for 103. Would not highly recommend.
don't take him for 103, not worth the stress. hes a funny guy but not funny enough to have him screw with your gpa.
Have to do your reading. Must hand in papers on time. Open book and note tests.
Good 101 Teacher....HORRIBLE 103 TEACHER!
This guy is a tweak-bandit....dude needs to chill out....wicked hard class unless you love LAW...if you don't then F*CK that class
Do NOT take this professor. He'll mess with your GPA. Average GPA in the class was a 2.7. Only 3 exams for the entire year, one paper, and a final. True/False questions are ridiculous. He's amusing, but not entertaining enough.
Good luck having him. You'll need it. Participate... then you'll maybe get a 3.0. Or ace the tests which are nearly impossible. Otherwise, get ready to get a 2.
Absolutely fantastic prof. Funny man with a squeaky voice who gets overexcited about law. Has legal experience and that helps, was very knowledgeable. Grading not bad at all, if you put a little effort into it. Quizzes are very easy if you just go over the chapter in the book (not the notes). Always in during office hours and very helpful.
This professor is a jerk. He's a tough grader, has expectations for papers that he won't tell you in advance but grades you on anywaysl. Plus he's bad at clarifying and answering questions. Don't take him unless you're insane.
He's an alright teacher, not too hard, not too easy, tests require studying for.
He's an alright prof for 101, but clearly a law prof. There's fields where he doesn't know too much about, and the workload can get intense towards the end of the semester. He likes to talk about ethics a lot. Just grader, though, and overall, a fair prof.
Not a hard teacher at all. I missed two weeks of classes due to Jury Duty and I was still able to get back on track. You must be the laziest person to fail this course - got a 3.7 with 3 quizzes and one paper. DIdn't do one extra cred assignment (and he gives out quite a few) - On a side note - this guy is hilarious.
Very good prof.. just be active in conversation with him and do his assigned hw...quizes are easy...funny guy too (also funny lookin..hehe) I got 3.7
Very unclear on assignments. When you go to his office to ask for help, he will barely respond with a legitimate answer. Also extremely stubborn. Will often argue in class to prove that his POV is the correct one. I worked hard in his class and got 90-100s on everything, yet still only managed a 3.7 so don't expect an A. Nice guy but a bad teacher
great class. he's a funny dude. definitely do your reading.
Quizzes are tough except for matching sections. Classes are a bit on the dull side. Listen for the boston accent.
I was so suprised by his appearance that I didn't pat attention for the first week. That aside, his tests are all stupid because they have multiple choice parts that are intentionally ambiguous.
Lot of work, hard grader, don't take.... but if you do bite your tongue to stop yourself from laughing the first class.... hint hint: HUGE TUMOR (??) or watever it is
FUNNIEST VOICE EVER... take his class just to listen to him talk.. it's well worth it no matter the grade you get.
Everyone who doesn't get a 3.3 or better in his class is just lazy. I knew nothing about law before I took it, but I studied hard for the quizzes and ended up with a 4.0. He's a nice guys and gives extra credit opportunities. The material is tough but just pay attention and do the reading.
Prof Hayward is awesome. He's this hilarious little man, who makes a boring subject fun. He can be strict, but if you know him at all, he's a really good guy. ALways helpful, gives extra credit. Highly recommend
Awesome dude. Do the reading and you will get a 4.0
Hayward is a really crazy guy. Strange, but that makes the class worth going to. Not too hard, three tests and a paper. He gives you a study guide for the test, so just have to memorize. Easy A, just work a little.
Hayward is the man. Class is kind of hard. But he goes over the readings in class. Gives study guides for the quizzes. Definitely worth taking. Hes a funny little man who keeps the class interesting
a real ****
The class is alright in general. Class is mandatory, but all he does is lecture on what you probably won't read until quiz time. As long as you use his study guides and read everything for the quizzes you'll do fine (3.3-4.0), but there are definitely better 103 profs that are much less work.
Funniest little guy ever. Just look at him and you'll fall in love. He failed at his own law firm because he was too nice so now he teaches here. Definitely worth taking if you're at all interested in law. If not, maybe find someone else. His lectures are dry, but gives interesting examples. Pay attention in class and you'll do fine w/ little study
Hayward is the best! His appearance will make you laugh everytime you see him. He makes funny comments and gives entertaining examples. There are 3 quizzes that count more as you go plus one paper worth 10%. It's pretty easy to get a 3.3+ if you put in a little effort. What's nice is that he gives a lot of extra credit.
CRAZIEST teacher I have ever had! Every time I looked at him I had to laugh he is the best! On the first day I was a little apprehensive- but I fell in love! He lectures a lot but all of his examples are about sex which keeps everyone laughing! Good teacher and he is so sweet! You can't help but smile in his class. :)
Crazy guy, class is usually pretty fun, can be boring because its 103 Tells you exactly what is on his tests.
Had him for 101 & 103, got A's in both. Funny guy all around, not too much work for a GB, just do your work. And try to take him seriously
I had him for both 101 and 103. A much harder grader for 103 and gives an additional 101 project which takes up alot of time. His quizzes are difficult but not impossible. If you have to take hime do but there are easier teachers out there
Talks way too fast, but he's not that hard of a grader. You don't really need to read the material to know enough for the quizzes and tests. Two papers, but I wrote them the night before they were due and got 9.4/10 on both. Take him for this class.
Very hard professor and talks pretty fast. You will use the book most of the time to teach yourself. Two quizzes determine 40% of your grade; you will work in teams on four case studies.
WOrst teacher at bentley..hardest grader ever. he makes his test which are like hard 20 to 30% of your grade. He is a grade killer. Makes you watch pointless movies and speeches. You work on teams for like 2 papers and 100 cases.. The WORST!..
This guy is all over the place! The class itself is VERY easy, 4 Quizzes (all easy), a midterm, a short written assignment, and the final. However, Hayward is crazy. He doesn't know a ton about cyberlaw, so he mostly teaches out of the book. He will bore you to death and repeat himself in every class. HE HAS A NO LAPTOP POLICY!
Not a hard class at all. He is a little out there but it can be entertaining. You do have to do the readings but if you do the tests are easy and the final is not accumulative.
If you value your life you will not take this class! He is not helpful and he does not compromise with students. He is ridiculously hard and expects you to know everything you read in the book. Every word. DO NOT TAKE!!
Hard 110 professor. You will learn alot, but grading is unnecessarily harsh. Tests require verbatim memorization of textbook material. Will not work with you on problems and will not bend his grading policies or allow rewrites under any cirumstance.
I don't know what everyone's complaining about. You dont need to know verbatim definitions, it's matching. He's very bizarre but it makes such a boring subject entertaining. You don't have to do the reading (but it helps). Recommend to anyone who wants law to not be as boring as possible. Funny dude
He talks a lot and covers ground quickly. Take notes. Make sure you know your stuff for the exams. If you have him first period, enjoy the fashion show when he walks in. I liked him, but the class was a challenge.
I took Law and Society with Professor Hayward and I thought he was a great teacher. When he lectures, he summarizes what is important (what will be on the test) at the end of each class for whoever wasn't paying attention. He doesn't use powerpoints, but if you pay attention you will do fine. I think he is one of the best teachers at Bentley!
Funny guy but going to class would be pointless if he didn't make it mandatory.2 tests if u study for both you will do fine even if you dont read. Assigns a lot of group work but its only worth 10% of your grade. pretty fair grader
Hayward is hilarious and he relates everything from the book to real life law situations. You don't have to read for any class because he lectures about the important info in class. Take Hayward if you want to learn a lot. Pretty easy grader and a great guy. Hilarious mannerisms. Lot of info for tests but if you work enough you ace the class
Did not like him. I would avoid his class because if you miss a class or fall behid he is not willing to help. For a class that should be really easy he makes it really hard.
fairly easy. he goes through all material in class, gives a study guide that outlines the test along with essay questions. no hw, little group work, 3 tests. he is a technophobe, nothing electronic while he's teaching. eagle eyes, so no cell phones. lastly, you must be able to get over the fact that he could've played the voice of mickey mouse.
Even though he goes through the material fast, Hayward is a great teacher and is really funny. His tests are very straight forward. As long as you as respectful and don't use your cell phone, he is willing to help you out!
Very funny, his examples in class make the class interesting. Relies heavily on the book, but overall not too hard. Take him if you can (he offers a lot of extra credit)
Definitely one of my nicer teachers of the semester. He is very interested in what he teaches; this along with his experience keeps class interesting and entertaining (his Mickey Mouse voice also helps).
His classes consist of running through the textbook page for page and giving extremely interesting examples. If you want a good grade though, you should read the textbook anyway. Lots of group work but take him!!
Lectures involve him going through the textbook definitions word for word and little to no time for participation, which is "mandatory." Loses students attention quickly. He has a thing for phones being out in class and treats students like middle schoolers when he sees one, which is at least once a class because he always looks for them
Very tough grader. He expects specific terms on the quiz, and the essays need to be perfect. Goes through the textbook page by page...i wouldnt reccomend him
He is an old fashion teacher. Uses the textbook a lot. If you don't like group projects/essays, don't choose him. The tests are hard but there is a 5 point extra credit question at the end of the test.
He reads all of the material straight from the book. If you outline the chapters yourself then the class time will be a complete recap. He makes lots of good examples in class that are really interesting. His exams aren't so hard, and he gives opportunities for extra credit, and gives out a study guide before all of the exams. Overall he is fair.
Hes very funny, loves to make awkward jokes. Incredibly smart. Old school and wants everyone there. He is very corkey with weird rules but they are funny to watch. He is straight forward with his quizzes and he uses study guides. Definitely better than a lot of other GB110 teachers
Had Madek for the first part of the semester, and Hawyward for the rest. I couldnt even understand what he is saying, his voice is so high pitch. Literally anyone could have taught this class better. He just reads straight from his outline from the book, word for word. I couldnt stress enough how much this class is awful now. Dont even bother forgetting your laptop because A, he reads to fast to take notes and B) youll need to entertain yourself somehow.
Madek came in, missed many classes then Hayward came in. The guy has a Mickey Mouse voice. Old school reads straight out of the book. He gives you a study guide that is pretty much. You NEED to know everything that we covered which is everything in the book. He pulls out a couple of terms here and there then some confusing concepts. DO NOT TAKE.
He's funny, and interesting and just great! And he like created the lawnmower or something ASK HIM ABOUT THE LAWNMOWER
Hayward is a good guy. Quiet, but he cares about you and your grades. Offers extra credit on all of the tests--which aren't bad at all if you prepare based on the study guide he sends out. Had Madek the first half of the semester and was disappointed with the switch at first, but Hayward turned out be a solid prof and I'm taking him again for LA211
A short, cute, and excitable old man. He is really nice, and cracks some jokes. He basically just reads you notes and you copy them down. Easy presentations, and group work is not challenging. He offers a lot of extra credit for every test. I love him.
Hayward is AWESOME! He's very clear about what he expects out of students, and wants to see you do well. Two quizzes, one essay, group work and a final. He tells students what is on each quiz. Overall, it's a lot of memorizing but not difficult.
The only homework assigned is to read from the book and do little groups assignments. Then in class his lectures include reading from the section of the book that was assigned.
I FREAKING LOVE HAYWARD. He kinda just reads from the book, but the quizzes are pretty easy (like as long as you know the stuff he puts on the study guide, you'll get an A). There are a lot of small group projects, but those are really easy. He's an adorable old man & he seems to really enjoy teaching lol. Gives lots of extra credit.
Great teacher. No surprises, and a safe choice overall. Interesting class. No nonsense makework like in other classes at Bentley. Funny guy too.
Class is pretty boring- he basically reads his chapter notes to the class. Tests are okay- some questions can be tricky but he gives a study guide for the final. Takes attendance every class so you have to show up and bare through it. Generally an easy grader
The class is lecture heavy, but this is mainly due to the fact that the content cannot really be taught any other way. Grading is based off of two quizzes, one essay, and a few group papers. As long as you actually do the assigned readings and take notes in class, you should have no problem getting an A.
This guys pretty unique. I took him for Gb110, and hes pretty easy, he gives a study guide for his 3 "Quizzes" one at the begining, one as a "midterm" and one as a "final".. so its pretty easy,he is super hardcore w/ attendance. Also, he refuses to allow any technology in, phones or laptop. Honeslty hes pretty annoying, but good grade is ez to get
First off he's a good professor. He practiced as a lawyer so he knows what he's talking about. lectures are boring but he tells you whats on the test during them. gives study guides that are exactly like the test. pretty easy grader. assigns a lot of reading. offers extra credit on every test and the final.
It's boring material so you can't expect much more. He just reads his notes which are exactly what the textbook is the whole time. Not many opportunities for participation but he values attendance and occasional questions. Very fair tests. A few group presentations that can be done online, essentially just rewriting a case detailed in the text.
Hayward is very unique (in good and bad ways). He's a really nice guy and knows his stuff, as he practiced law in the past. It's one of the classes where you'll learn a lot, but not necessarily get an awesome grade. He's a conservative and you'll pick up on that quick, so if that bothers you, don't take him. But I recommend him, he's a great prof.
Professor Hayward is a solid professor. If you want to do well you got to be in class, pay attention, and want to study hard. Between him and the textbook you have all the tools needed to get a 4.0, it just takes a little ambition. He requires long study hours with lots of reading to get the A, but you will learn. Hes a funny guy and makes it fun.
All lectures are him just reading off his notes and its impossible to follow. To prepare for the tests you basically need to teach yourself everything and memorize a lot of definitions. Its not a hard class if you put in decent effort. Expect to be bored in class.
Hayward is kind of wild but if you study and participate in class you will get a 4.0. Stars everything that will be in tests in class so just show up and study the terms on the study guide and you'll be fine. Lectures are boring but he's funny. Literally just put effort in and you'll get a 4.0.
Joke of a prof, but it makes the class super easy. His lectures are okay but he's so old and often repeats half the lecture on accident. Reads off a paper, no slides or visuals. Just two quizzes, a paper, group case work and final. BSed the paper and got an A. Gives a study guide for every exam, just study it and you'll get an A. No cold calls.
Professor Hayward is such a sweet man. He doesn't use powerpoints, so if you like that then you shouldn't take the class. His exams are fair and they are based on the textbook and the lectures. He gives a study guide a week before. If you try a bit it is easy to get a good grade.
