Dr. Hensley is a very good teacher, he is kinda hard but is worth taking as a teacher. He helps out in anyway he can before and after class and is a very nice person. I would take him again in more psychology classes I may need to take.

Although I am not making a very good grade in hi class, he does know what he is talking about. He is very knowledgable.

I found this class to be really interesting. Although I walked out knowing about what I knew going into it. I would recommend this teacher.

Disreguard other reports, this is not a hard teacher. and one of the smartest professors I have ever met. He was a joy in class and I learned more in his class than in any other. My friends and I have all taken him and loved him.

I took his Human Sexuality class.The exams were multiple choice and not hard.His lectures are interesting and funny.

His lectures are very informative. He integrates real life situations with what he teaches and if you take good notes (i.e. bring a recording device) then you will do good on the tests. He also has very funny stories as examples!

There is NO reason for the profanity, not even in the name of education...which is a conflict in itself! And to warn students of his "style" DOES NOT make it okay or justify bashing the Jewish faith or any other!!

This teacher is ausome. You do need to show up for class though because most of his test material is from his lectures. If you don't show up on time then you loose points too. But I was late all the time and I still made a B in the class. This was my morning class even if I was late and I knew I wasn't going to get the points I went anyway.

I had Mr. Hensly @ 7:00 a.m. and I enjoyed going to class every day! I got a C in class, but I still totally enjoyed it and learned alot!

intro, human sex, development, group dynamics. john is a great teacher and can keep your attention with anecdotal stories. every class he teaches is formatted in the 1-A, i-a format. this makes for great notes and easy tests. he's such a great teacher that i won't take anyone else for psych if i can help it.

fantastic teacher. blows all other tcc psych teachers (at least at metro) out of the water. love the mix of insight and candor.

An excellent instructor. Personally, I disagree with him on alot of issues, but I learned alot because he teaches well. Would recommend him and will take him again if I can for other Psy classes.

If you are any more motivated than your average house plant, you should do well in his class. I disagree with A LOT of his philosophy though. He insists that in terms of sexual attraction, a man's worth improves with age because women are attracted to financial success and a woman's worth declines with age because men are attracted to looks.

He's a really funny teacher. Its mainly lectures so take good notes and pay attention and you'll be fine. My favorite class all year. Worth waking up @ 7:30 for.

GREAT teacher! At first I thought he was really boring and I thought I would hate the class but he ended up being really funny. Study for the tests..make sure you study the study guide in the book. You don't need to read the chapter. I definately recommend him.

I didn't fall asleep once in his class which is surprising cause it's a lecture class. over all good person. very oppionated but then again that's something that makes it interesting. it's like he says exactly what he's thinking which I veiw as a good thing. makes him an honest person.

This was a hard, but great class. I studied hard and couldnt break his C average. I got one B one time out of 6 tests. Definately worth the effort, just dissappointed in my grade. Very outspoken, would be a good class for someone who needs to open their mind.

Taken 3 of his classes. Arrogant, Atheist, Male-Chauvinist & will resort to ridicule & bullying if you challenge his views. He makes blanket, erroneous and unfair statements about Christianity & will not tolerate his opinions being challenged. Tread lightly. If you are a liberal you will love him. If you are a conservative Christian you won't.

Awesome teaacher! I don't know about that last post..i'm a christian and i dont remember him crossing the line in either of my classes i've had with him. Very organized and interesting. You definately learn a lot about yourself and others in this class. I definately recommend him and this class to everyone!

His class was an easy A. However, I thought he was kind of arrogant and his lectures were long and boring. Take good notes and read your chapter and you will pass his test. All test are mult. choice. He can be rude when he thinks you are questioning anything. BEWARE READ YOUR SYLLABUS...BECAUSE IF YOU QUESTION HIM ABOUT IT YOU WILL BE SORRY!

Great teacher, although somewhat hard, even if you get a 100% on all tests you still will not make an A. Attendence is very critical in this class, but worth its worth it, he's a great & funny teacher.Only serious students should take his class, otherwise, they will not pass it. Use the online study guides from your text book & take good notes.

i took him for intro, human relations, & human sexuality. great teacher/lecturer, show up to class, take good notes, and study for the tests. i mainly got low A's and high B's but b/c i showed up everyday to class I got an easy A. if you are truly an open-minded & tolerant person you can handle him :) not hard to at least get a B if you study!

Hensley is a great teacher. His lectures are entertaining, and keep you involved in the class. Easiest class to ever get an A in. Just write your papers, get C's on the tests, and you got it made. I would refer him to anyone wanting to take a psy course.

Amazing teacher. His lectures are fantastic but you need to study the chapters in order to pass the tests. Does not tests over his lectures. This class is extremly interesting and I loved it. Smart guy. Again, does not test over lectures. Read the chapters and the study guides in the book to make an A in his class.

This professor is pretty eady. Being in class is mandatory unless you want to read chapters out of the book. Some of the lecture notes are helpful, mostly the study guides in book are most helpful. Pretty interesting teacher. Watch how he words test questions. Outgoing, funny comments. Tests are very hard if you don't study!!

Hensley is an evolutionary psychologist which may account for some finding him misogynistic. I am a female and had no problems with the things he said, It is necessary to disregard ones beliefs and focus on the FACTS presented. If you find yourself offended just remember that. He is by far one of the greatest professors I've had in my schooling.

GREAT PSYCH PROF! He is cery clear in his lectures, doesn't go off the book a lot, but the book is very beneficial for study and reference. SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT! You won't find a better prof who sticks to the subject and actually teaches you! Tests are consistent, not too difficult, but you will need to study some. He's AWESOME! ENJOY!

I just started taking intro to psyc this fall semester and Hensley is my favorite teacher so far! very opinionated but yet fascinating point of views. I feel lucky i selected his professor with no prior knowledge of him.

This guy aint that bad. People should stop whining. Ya, if you ask a question he'll kinda make you feel stupid, but I always made sure he knew it. I enjoyed him a teacher and im taking another one of his classes. If you don't wanna be bored, take Hensley.

I had this guy nearly 15+ years ago & can STILL remember him & the stuff he taught--which really speaks highly of the impact made on my life. He's not easy, but is interesting & makes you THINK. So if you want an easy "A", or to sleep through a course, this isn't your guy. Otherwise, you'll be thinking for the next 15+ years.

Hensley is one weird dude. He sure does like to talk about himself, but he makes the class fun&interesting and he really makes you think. The tests can be hard because he doesn't give a solid review. He doesn't lecture out of the text but most test questions come from there. Warning: don't take him if you're easily offended or can't take a joke! ;)

I have had ALL of the classes Hensley teaches except one. I ADORE him but tell him I said that or he will get vain:) There is nothing about Hensley that is abrasive if you are and adult and have enough self esteem to dress your self. If you feel he is belittling you when you ask a question perhaps you asked a dumb question.

Hensley was a great teacher. ive taken his class twice now and successfully passed! he hands out a study guide and he goes over it in class. then hell test over it! he stares at a wall and dont fall asleep in his class! i remember i did and he slammed on the table! lol good times! hes an awesome teacher all in all

I just got done taking his Intro Psyc class and I loved it. He is an awesome teacher. He explains things clearly and if you dont understand something then just ask and he'll explain no problem. If your not really enterested in psyc then take the class at 11:30. He'll explain why in class. He will definately make you laugh and its an easy A.

Hensley is an awweeesome teacher, he has this sarcastic but very witty sense of humor which always keeps class interesting. Believe me i am sooo not getting paid to write this. Attendance is a MUST. He averages it in with your grade at the end of the semester. The tests weren't hard at all, just take notes! YOU WANT THIS CLASS.

Great teacher. I took his Intro to Psych class and passed with an 86%. Come to class, take notes as he goes over the chapter outline and study that before the test. There were 6 tests with 25 questions. They weren't too bad at all!! He is quite intelligent about and teaches very well. At times he would get totally off subject and rude but other than that he's great! I would recommend this class.

I LOVE THIS CLASS! Dr. Hensley is extremely knowledgeable and articulates his points very well. Attendance is mandatory though, as well as being in class on time. Tests require studying (as all do) but are taken individually, and then again in groups. Come to class, study, and do the work and you'll get an A. Highly recommend Dr. Hensley!

Human Relations is a class that every single person should be required to as a young adult. Most helpful class for my growing as a person in general.

he is a good teacher never used the book dont buy its a waste must show up to class he will give you a hand out and you fill it in in class no homework ever test not to hard as long as you go over the worksheet he gives you

Don't be late. If he writes it down, it's important. Tells little stories that were really funny and interesting. Every young person SHOULD be required to take HIM because it really is helpful to understanding the "other side of the coin" really enjoyed the class.

Great class. Hensley uses stories from his personal life to illustrate points, which is helpful and entertaining. Tests are done individually, then as a group. Four writing assignments that were enjoyable. Be respectful - don't use your cell phone in class, he will berate you. Great guy.

Took many of his classes. Including Evolutionary Psychology. He knows his stuff, and uses personal experiences to articulate his stances and course material. Will be the first one to complement a student when he raises an issue that is not one he is aware of. Gets an A in my book, but wish I could take more classes.

Dr. Hensley does not teach from the textbook. His tests are based entirely on lectures and if you miss a class, you better hope someone took good notes! Get a recorder for this class. I highly recommend it, as he flies through a topic. He uses scan cards & doesn't give the test back out. I want to see what questions I missed! Overall, great teacher

One of the best classes I've ever taken, with one of the best teachers I've ever had. I LOVED HIM. He's hilarious, intelligent, and very upfront about things. Everybody should take either Human Relations or Human Sexuality from him.

I was not looking forward to this class at all but came away pleasantly surprised with what I learned and appreciative of the it was taught. I like the way he uses his own experiences as examples because it solidifies the ideas he's covering. He puts quite a bit of effort in making it entertaining, which helped hold my attention. I recommend him!

I had Dr Hensley for intro to psych and he was funny as hell! He doesn't typically go by the book, he prefers his theory better. Make sure you show up on time and don't get caught texting or he'll kick you out, first test is hard next 4 are easy and last one is tricky. Attendance will boost your grade A LOT!!!

Alright kind of guy. He is very liberal minded like myself so if you are conservative don't take offense. We took three test and three writing assignments ( right time for sex, sexual fantasies, and unanswered questions you may have). Also, if you are a women try not to take what he says seriously, even though the research is there to back it up.

I would recommend this class if you can take time outside if class&attended every class-mandatory. I should've applied myself more to get a higher grade. You'll need to read your text along with the lectures-but it is worth it! Straight lectures & he can come off as rude or uncaring but I believe he does. Some things I didn't like but recommended.

Attendance is a must. About 1/3 your grade is attendance/completion based, the rest tests. Tests are multiple choice and require reading text attentively. Forced to buy new 160$ textbook he edited, which is scummy. Taught for around half an hour each day, then we broke up into groups. Great course for building interpersonal skills, would recommend.

I am a woman &I took Hensleys Human Sex class and I enjoyed it! He is a wonderful teacher and makes class fun. Take notes on his lectures, review chapters in book before test, and do the written assignments you get an A. attendance is a must as well. Attendance is a mandatory and be on time. He will mark you absent if you came in a minute late or leave early. He have simple rules that you have to follow: don't sleep or use your phone in class. Record his lectures and listen to it before a test. Study the pictures and questions from the book. Don't expect for him to dismiss class early.

The class was easy. If you attend regularly and study the chapters before the exam, you can get an A. His lectures never cover the test material; so, you can tune out during class and read the book later. The best part about this class was that there weren't any papers or homework.

Dr. Hensley is a very interesting lecturer. He does not give grades, you earn them. You will quickly discover he gives many scenarios disguised as little interesting stories over all topics he discusses, but warning these stories are to help with his comprehensive test, so make sure your writing as you listen. Attendance is mandatory.

If you get the chance to take one of his classes, DO IT. He is an amazing professor, and you can tell he really knows his stuff. He isn't the professor for everyone because he really doesn't have much of a filter (which is why I loved him). No tolerance for bs so go to class, don't be late, and stay off your phone. STUDY FOR THE TESTS!

Dr Hensley was definitely a one of a kind professor. Very cool classic car if you took his class, lectures were not specific to test particularly. Exams are your points along with attendance. Blah blah. He taught that messed up Phil guy who he talks about. Best man?? That's a level of therapy we cannot provide as students. But a brilliant mind

When I had Dr. Hensley back in 2008 his class was crammed to the walls with desks and you had< 3 days to get a spot in his class. He lectured without any technology or media. No eye contact and recited the txtbk chs by memory. My favorite class ever!!!!! Good luck Dr. Hensley in your retirement!!! Thank you for your contribution to the world!!!!!
