Dr. Holliday is a great teacher. Very clear examples are given during his lessons. Helps you anytime you have problems. Doesn't lecture to you like you are a part of a class but gets involved with you as you are an individual. Overall GREAT teacher!

very good teacher. Nice person, and does tons of examples. Explains things well, his test aren't bad, short, i would recomend him!!!
He's very easy. All you need to do is take notes.
This man is HORRIBLE! He's VERY scattered and unclear. He may know that he's doing in his head but he CAN NOT teach it!!! I've always been pretty good in math but had a horrific time in his classroom. Whatever you do avoid this teacher!!!!!!
Very nice and very willing to help. He gets very nervous though when he teaches! No surprises on tests- they are exactly homework problems and what he teaches. It is not an easy class though!
Very nice guy! He is willing to help all you have to do is ask. Take notes and you'll do fine.
Dr. H is the bomb. He's a young professor & is still learning the ropes. He's very helpful & easy to laugh at/with. Ask him if he's ever written on a pulldown screen for the overhead. Ah, good times... Anywho, any brain dead can get this math. Make sure you know the difference between a bar graph & a pie chart & you'll make an A on the 1st quiz.
Holy Crap...don't even need to take notes! He is Funny though, very corny. He can grade a little tough, but it doesn't matter...I haven't taken the first note and made 100% on almost everything, including the first test! Of course I don't think it's him...I think the class is just incredibly easy!
Had a fun time in his class. Highly recommend taking any mathematics course he teaches. The man is brilliant. He can explain things in more ways than you can imagine. By studying the notes and attending class, anyone would do fine on the tests. Great corny math humor. (What other kind of math humor is there?)
He is very easy but if you value your intelligence you will not take his class. He is so repetitive and boring. He is so corny, I did not like this class at all.
He's so easy it's sick. I sat in the back of class goofing off from about half the semester and still didn't have any problems. If you know math at all, coming to class was a joke. Make sure you can do the little practice crap he gives you and, if you aren't inclined to math, work through the practice problems he does in class.
He is a very good and understanding teacher that cares how you do in his class
One of the best Math teachers I've ever had (by far)! He explains everything so clearly that you can't help but understand. Dr. Holliday was very helpful and never hesitated to stop to help you get caught up (if you didn't understand something). He made a stressful class lighthearted and laidback. His policy must be "No one gets left behind". Great
Highly recomend Dr. Holiday. It was easy, but I didnt die of boredom either.
Professor Holliday teaches on a way that is very east to understand. His class is not easy, but it not extremely difficult, and he is very willing to help his students succeed.
Dr. Holliday is a great professor. He is very kind and helpful. He teaches clearly and explains everything thoroughly. Always available during his office hours.
VERY VERY helpful! Always around during office hours, and always willing to make an appointment for extra help when you need it. I swear I would have completely failed this class if it weren't for his help. I would HIGHLY recommend!
So I hate math, but he is by far the best math teacher I've ever had. Just take notes, go to class, pay attention, get the general idea. You'll pass.
I loved him! He really makes time for his students and his quizes are fairly easy if you study and take notes. I want him for STAT 2400 really bad!
Dr. Holliday is a great professor. He is very fair. If you miss a class or can't turn in a project on time he won't ding you for it if you have a valid reason. He is easy compared to other professors. He tells you what to expect on tests and quizzes and as long as you study what he's told you, then you'll do great in his class.
He is a pretty good teacher. you have a quiz every friday and you get to drop your lowest three quiz grades. test arent that hard. your final is comprehensive. I would strongly suggest taking this teacher. i am taking him for STAT.
Makes Math interesting. Calculus itself is pretty boring unless you are a math nut, but he keeps the class entertaining with his puns and mannerisms.Made a couple errors on tests and such and made them really hard to do, but then was fair about his mistakes and ended up with better grades than you would have had. Take Him if you want to learn!
He is a really good teacher. He explains everything really well, and he goes slow when people need it. Tests aren't hard at all if you know the material. And he gives study guides for them. He gives group assignments sometimes, and doesn't collect homework or anything. I would definitely recommend him to anyone!
Great Math teacher! His study guides are harder than the actual tests...so if you do the study guide you'll get an A on the test. The only thing that sucks is that the final is worth 35% of your grade and it's cumulative.
He is an amazing math teacher! Best I have ever had! He is very funny and helpful. I was very scared about taking Calculus but he taught it very well. He helped me easily understand all of the material.
Very Hard Course for anyone who is Mathematically challenged! The Professor was good, the student was bad!
Math 2460: Dr. Holiday is a very strange teacher. Sometimes he's clear, sometimes he's not. His tests aren't very difficult, especially if you've done the homework. Not a bad class, not a bad teacher, just kinda strange. I would recommend him if you just wanna get Calc 2 out of the way.
Dr. Holliday is a good teacher, but the class was really hard. Pay attention in class and ask questions when you don't understand. It's easy to fall behind. Gives a lot of practice problems, make sure you do them all!
Dr. Holiday is an excellent teacher. He is fairly clear at explaining the concepts and does many example problems in class. Get the book and study the problems from it because it seemed like most of the test problems were similar to the ones in the book and not from webassign.
He is awesome. Homework are optional, but you should do them cause it helps. Test are not hard at all. He wouldn't put impossible problems on his test for you to solve. His jokes are lame but amusing.
Holliday is a great person. He is a great teacher as well, only if you already know the material. He was always there to help and if you asked in class, he would explain something. But, if you didn't ask... all he did was examples of the problems. It was very hard to follow and I ended up teaching myself most of the material.
Dr. Holliday is an awesome math professor. He really wants his students to succeed and makes sure to do everything he can to help make that happen. If you do not succeed in his class, it is only because you did not try.
I love this man! I don't think I would have pass Stats if it was not for him. I signed up for (Stats/2400) 3 times at 2 different schools before taking it at NGCSU. Dr. Holliday was so helpful. He can be hard to follow at times you have to pay attention and take good notes and you will pass the class. I was so happy with him. I got a "B" good luck!
Awesome professor, is willing to work with you if you don't understand and will answer all your questions. As long as you take notes and listen to his lectures you're in the clear. Will work with you to help you pass, and curves grades. Has a sense of humor too :)
Great professor! He breaks everything down and teaches at a slow pace. Easy schedule and I got to leave early on Friday's because you just take a short quiz. Made a 100 on the final.
Super nice guy! His class if easy as long as you do the online homework and follow the study guide.
Excellent math professor! I loved him! He is super nice and helpful! If you take notes, do the webassign online, and do the study guide you'll do fine on his tests, I definitely recommend him!
This Pre-calc class is easy in the sense that he don't call on you, he just writes out problems, goes through the answer and that's it. I found he took test Q's from the text because nobody uses it. If you do text examples, webassign & work the studyguide, class will be a breeze. Use the free tutor if needed! He also gives partial credit on T & Q.
Holliday has a pretty easy class. Go to class, write down the notes and examples he puts on the board, do the web assigns and you'll have no problem passing his tests and quizzes. There's a quiz every week but they're not hard. His study guides are VERY similar to the tests.
He is a good teacher, but goes a little fast, just try to write down all examples. if you don't go to class you will probably be confused. Do the web assign before the final day its due. Study guides help a lot & the tests are not very hard. overall he is a good math teacher!
Very nice teacher but he teaches a little different than most. Goes really fast in class so just copy whats on the board. DONT wait to do the webassign. There are alot of them and they can be very long. Doesn't respond to email well. He will work with you to make-up quizzes or tests. Does give study guides and a quiz every week. Must attend class.
Professor Holliday goes very fast and can be confusing. His tests aren't hard, he gives study guides and always tries to help you understand! He went above and beyond to help me. Attendance is mandatory or you will be confused. Overall, I recommend him!!
I took him for Brief Calc over the summer, so it was a really short amount of time. He tries very hard to give you as many points as possible and is fair in grading. He's so nice and really wants to help you. His notes can be a bit confusing at times because he goes quickly, but he's eager to help. I would highly recommend him.
I love this man. He is the sweetest, kindest math professor here. BEST TEACHER EVER!! I've had him for a number of classes and every one was awesome.
Dr. Holliday is a great professor. He's really good with the material and is usually very clear on teaching the material to you and making sure you don't understand. He'll also usually go over anything you're having trouble with. Very friendly, and highly recommended. Without him I don't think I could have gotten a B in calculus.
Very willing to help! Weekly quizzes and online assignments, but its not a very hard class. We spent numerous days just asking questions over stuff we didn't understand. Take good notes of practice problems so you can review them for quizzes. Study the tests for the final. He literally used some of the same questions.
I wasn't the best at Calc 1, but Holliday helped me immensely in Calc 2. His tests aren't the easiest, but if you pay attention in class and practice you should do great. Just don't skip any classes. He also goes out of his way to help students. Quite a few class periods were used up totally on students asking him questions. Definitely recommend.
Dr. Holliday makes sure you understand the material before lecturing further and welcomes questions during the lecture. Gives study guides for the tests.
Professor Holliday was great! He helps you and is very understanding! I would definitely recommend him!
I loved Dr. Holliday! He was awesome! He makes topics easy to understand and will help you with whatever you need. He tries so hard to make funny jokes--laugh and make him feel good. Give him a joke or two back. He goes slower than any other professor in the dept (AMAZING!). Does not use WebAssign. Take Dr. Holliday!!
made lots of corny math jokes and most of the quizzes were group and take-home quizzes. really enjoyed the class.
Awesome Teacher. If you pay attention and show that you care about your grade, you'll pass. Oh and the Corny math jokes are a plus as well. :)
The only professor to take to understand and to succeed in CAL 1 in Dahlonega. A lot of online assignments, quizzes (which are one or two questions taken out of the homework), 3 tests and a final. He is willing to help with you, during or after class.
Brief Calculus is a very hard class but he made it the easiest as possible. There are 10-12 quizzes, and 3 tests and a cumulative final. As long as you understand the study guides for the test you will do fine. He is so sweet and goofy, he made the most out of a difficult class.
He's a really nice person and he's good at his job. He's willing to help you during office hours if you need it but the class is not hard. You do in class assignments and a test. You usually have one webassign quiz a week.
Calc 2 was extremely tough for me but I'm glad I took it with Holliday! Great teacher and really helpful.
Discrete Mathematics would have been a very tedious class with another professor, John Holliday is a ridiculously sweet man and grades based on your understanding of the process instead of just the answer, attend class and pay attention and you will do well. Highly recommended.
I had Brief Calculus with Holliday, and I'm glad I did. He wrote problems out on the board step by step, so you will need to take notes to pass his exams and quizzes. What he writes on the board will be on the exams. Dr. H is very sweet, but the only downside is that he is super busy. It can be challenging at times to see him if you need help.
Brilliant man, respected teacher, and husky lover. John Holliday gives beautiful amounts of partial credit and feedback so that any student has the opportunity to learn from their mistakes, and master his course. Easy A if you're a moderately hard worker.
He is a super nice and helpful professor. He tends to give out quizzes every week that consist of 2-6 questions though, so they tend to get you if you don't do well. Webassign is used for hw, and it is helpful enough. He provides answer keys to all graded material which is super great. Overall he is just really cool to talk to and ask questions to.
Great professor, ver helpful, gives study guides and webassigns that are due before each exam, we have 4 including final, not hrd, weekly quizzes
10000/10 AMAZING PROF.
I took precalc in high school, so the class was really easy. He taught it in a way you could understand it. Gives lots of webassigns, I recommend not doing them the night before an exam. You have short quizzes every week and he gives study guides which are just like the tests. He will answer questions in office hours. Normally finishes class early.
Great guy! Wants you to succeed! I got an A in a half semester class and I skipped four or five times. His lectures are good, pay attention. Loves to help and answer your questions.
Had Dr. Holliday for a short session precalc and he was great! Lots of homework but always answered questions and wanted you to succeed. Gave study guides similar to the test and dropped lowest quiz! Would recommend!
I struggled a lot in math but he made it to where the material was completely understandable! Such an angel and so sweet!
Prof. Holliday is probably my favorite professor that I've had. His lectures are very thorough, and he always posts videos and notes an hour or so after. His tests aren't necessarily easy, but he gives partial credit, so it's really hard to fail them. I personally didn't have to study until the day before the test and I never made a B on anything.
Professor Holliday is a great lecturer, but the one thing I'd say negatively about him, and I hate to put it that way because he's a great guy, but he often made simple mistakes while lecturing and on tests, like leaving out a symbol where one was needed, and even today on my final he left out a crucial part of a problem, so it was unsolveable.
This dude was amazing, my professor quit right before thanksgiving break without telling us so he took our class. Really helped me understand what my old professor screwed up at. Super nice and caring. Basically saved my grade, a wonderful guy.
great professor. work load is easy and the class is a breeze
Dr. Holliday is the nicest professor ever! He is super accessible outside of class and once spent over an hour helping me outside of class. He gives great study guides for tests and grades very generously with partial credit. He also loves puns and has a very funny sense of humor. Take him if you get the chance.
Honestly one of the best teachers I have ever had. He really tries to help everyone understand, and even takes class time going over homework problems that people can't get. The content is hard, but he makes it easy to learn.
He was able to realize that we as a class were not picking up on the content and that we needed a few more lecture periods for review in preparation for exams. I respect that a lot, I feel as though other professors would have just let the class fail. Overall, he is a very genuine nice guy!
He overworked himself this summer but he still did everything he could to help the students and to make the class doable for everyone
Amazing guy. This was a phenomenal class. Him and I are having a special topics class ran because of it
Dr. Holliday is good. Graph Theory is a difficult class however holliday makes it seem easy! If you have him as an option please take him.
Holliday is the saving grace of math teachers, whenever me and friends discuss our algebra professors it just makes me realize how much better he is than the other professors, just follow along with his lectures and you will pass.
He is a great teacher who really cares about his students. Very accessible outside of class and he's happy to help whenever you need it! He gives unit tests and those count for most of your grade. If you study, you'll most likely do well.
If you don't already have an idea of the material and want to teach yourself, this isn't the professor for you. He only goes over examples at the literal speed of light unless questions are asked. I did all my work, went to office hours, studied and cried over his homework for hours everyday and still failed every test and had to drop the class.
In general, really good at teaching. The lectures are short but productive. The homework gives everyone a fair chance to get their grade up. I highly really recommend to anyone.
Dr. Holliday is great! The class is definitely difficult and you will have to work for your grade. He tends to go over the examples a little fast, so be prepared to go back and watch the lectures. He gives you an assignment before each test that basically tells you what you need to know for the exam. Take Dr. Holliday!
I took discrete math online over the summer and I enjoyed the class. Obviously you will have to do your work and know the material to succeed in this class but the professor was great. He was very understanding and answered emails quickly. He also was very good about giving weekly updates of what we are doing for that week of the class.
I have always been good at math until this class. His lectures are so boring they can be painful. He isn't great at explaining something to you when you're confused. It usually just makes it less clear. I did not learn a single thing the entire semester because he isn't good at teaching, he just talks. I hope that makes sense.
He can be confusing occasionally but he is willing to help. I highly recommend to keep up with the homework as opposed to leaving it before the day before the test (that's when he makes it due), it made tests infinitely less stressful. He records his lessons and is also lenient on tests and quizzes. The homework software he uses is also good.
He does issue lots of Webassigns, but other than that he has clear wants from you as a student. Test typically only have 10 questions. He is always willing to give extra help. He is great at teaching what he teaches. Tests are never multiple choice, but he grades everything you write down not just the answer. He is an awesome professor!
He is very nice and sweet, but he goes SO fast during class and his explanations do not make sense. If i hadnt taken precalc in highschool I would be failing. He assigns 5-7 webassign hws for every test that are each like 20-25 questions and theyre so unecessarily hard and take forever. also final is cummulative
He is super kind, but his class can be difficult. The homework takes hours on end if you do it last minute. The tests are pretty easy if you study, and his study guides are similar to the tests. His class is very work-heavy, but typically lets class out 15 minutes early everyday which is super nice. He did end up curving my grade in the class.
Don't be scared off by his first class, he talks fast but lectures are online. He has note templates you can print and take notes with- which I highly reccomend doing. Do the work and take the notes and you'll pass. His take-home assignments are wonderful study tools for the test. Gives partial credit Very caring teacher and cracks a lot of jokes.
His online lectures were very informative. Very doable class.
Dr. Holliday is one of the sweetest professors I have ever had. His homework isn't due until the night before his exams; homework is online and based off of practice problems in class. He's very understanding about absences; I emailed him once at 2am to tell him I couldn't make his class due to mental health and he excused it.
He was a very sweet professor, and loved cracking jokes. I really liked him, he just moved super quick in the teachings which made it hard to keep up sometimes. Homework for every unit, it's a lot but he assigns it at the start of the unit and it's due the day before the exam. Make sure you take really good notes and review them.
Really enjoyed his class. The best math class I've ever taken.
Fast lectures but good quality
I would 100% recommend Dr. Holliday. He was a very nice professor and told a lot of jokes. Makes the assignments and test fairly easy. He does assign hw but it was helpful in my opinion. Overall great professor and would take again
I took Professor Holliday for Calc III and really enjoyed the course. Everyone in there was very active and engaged. His assignments reflected what was going to be on the test. He's one of if not the most caring math teacher I've ever had! I highly recommend him.
I really like this professor. He shows up every day with a smile on his face and is really positive. He cracks a lot of jokes, I wish more people would laugh. Overall he is a helpful teacher and you get a note card for every test. The study guides show exactly whats on each test. Very easy class.
He shows up late and when you ask for help he just does it for you and does not show you how he did it
I enjoyed his class. It is definitely important you attend class or you will miss a lot of notes. He posts class lectures online. Very understanding. Good amount of grades to balance. He likes to make jokes with the class. 4 unit tests along with a final, + quizzes Lots of homework, however it is very helpful.
Really great professor. He makes calculus a lot less scary. Really enjoyed his class, wish I could have him for Calc 2! Just don't leave your homework until the last minute because he assigns a lot of problems.
The professor is a very nice guy but he is a terrible teacher. He speeds through all lectures and wont slow down at all unless questions are asked. Thankfully, I had prior knowledge because I had to teach myself the whole class. The class wasn't difficult but he made it harder just because of the incompetence of his teaching skills.
One of my favorite professors I've ever had, Holliday goes over the material extremely well as long as you listen in class, the homework's cover what's on the exams very closely, if given a chance definitely take this class it is quite enjoyable.
He is a funny and respected professor. Unfortunately, for me anyway, his lectures went by way too quick and he didn't clearly explain how to get a certain answer.
Mr. Holliday is a great professor who genuinely cares about his students. I struggled in this class and i went to his office hours and he took the time to explain it. usually i learn slow and get embaressed that i learn slow but he taught it in different ways until i understood it.
