I had a terrible chem 1201 professor and thought that would affect my performance in chem 1202. It did not and I credit most of that to Professor Hopkins. He gives a lot of homework but it is worth it and you learn as you do it. No need to buy the textbook his class notes are sold for only $30. Not the most polite person but he's understanding.

He is a fairly good teacher however, the biggest problem is the extremely faulty homework website. You cannot skip questions, go back to previous ones, or even review old assignments and you are lucky if you get through a homework assignment without running into some sort of bug with the program or seeing a "Solution" which demonstrates wrong steps

The ONLY reason why this teacher is getting a 3 is because he mega curved the final and I ended with a B in his class. This teacher gave way too many competencies/homework, that take well over 2 hours to do, with almost 30+ slides for each assessment. The test practice he gives doesn't resemble the test. Funny person, but bad teaching style. 2/5!

Although this class was demanding, he clearly knows what he's talking about. Before class, you're expected to do "pre-lectures" then answer graded polling questions in class. There are about 3-6 homeworks per chapter graded on a pass/fail basis. His exams practically mirror the homework, so if you do them/read his textbook, then you should be good.

JHop is a great teacher and makes the material understandable. Homework is due often but he always drops low homework grades at the end of the semester. There are three exams and a final but they are only worth 65%, so participation/homework is very important. Go to class and pay attention in lecture, and you will be just fine.

Kind of has a flipped classroom. You have to learn the material outside of class then come to class and do some practice problems. Homework and prelectures are on this website that he made which is absolutely horrible. You have homework due everyday and they can take a long time. WATCH CHAD'S chemistry prep on YouTube, he helped me a lot!

Professor Hopkins values and cares about his students more than any other professor I've had. There's lots of homework, but if you truly invest in doing the work, making a good grade is inevitable. He takes value in explaining the "why" of the topics being discussed, whether the topic is strictly chemistry or about life and success in general.
