Professor Hsiao is indeed verbal abusive but its hilarious!If someone comes late for class for example he makes the student tell the whole class 3 private things about themselves and then he makes fun of you( and the whole class is applauding), if you say something stupid of course. Hard in grading but you learn a lot and get a lot of laughs

Very skilled professor; will give you a real outlook on life. Not a sugar-coating kind of guy. Heart is recommended for this course that will make you stronger not only mentally, but rhetorically as well.

Mr. H is a very straight-forward person/teacher but for a good reason. Honestly one of the best professors I've had at Harbor so far. He really cares about students and their progress. The class is a challenge, but it's definitely worth while. If your a slacker you'll either drop or fail. Take it seriously and stay focused, you'll be fine.

If you are looking for an easy teacher, this is not the one to take. He will help you with bettering your writing skills, but it will not be easy. Over half of my class drop. I spend countless nights writing essays until 3am. He is one of the most hardest classes I have taken.

He's understanding. Professor Hsiao knows we have other classes and whenever a deadline came up and we needed more time he would give us an extension. I was a parent and I kept in communication and he always allowed me to turn in work late. Very compassionate and worked with us. Down to earth and humble and worked hard for all he has!

Favorite English professor I've had. I took this class the beginning of college, and I do not regret it. For a class that everyone has to take, he made it worth our time and taught us lots of valuable information. I would hands down take another class with Professor Hsiao He was very caring and kind and made you feel important to your learning process and a valued student too

There is a lot of writing assignments during this course, so be prepared to write lots of essays. He does in-person assignments that are graded so attendance is mandatory or else you will lose points. All assignments are worth 100 points so missing will hurt.

He will make you think outside the box we did pbl on social media and Prof gets the class involved in real life topics that matter literacy reading writing speaking.
