He is very helpful to his students, all you have to do is ask him for help and he's there.I dont know why everyone thinks he is a bad teacher when he is the only one in the department who actually cares about the success of his students

Although this was one of the toughest courses I have ever taken, Mr Iacozza took the time to help out me and other students in order for all of us to be successful. I believe he is one of the best instructors in the department.

Gotta admit, he hates his teaching first year courses, so he is a real ass to his students, But heck, his tests are easy and his lectures are clear, He's not a bad prof. I'd recommend him still.

he is very funny in class-and if you want his help he is there-he does not bother with students who do not put effort into his class. i would recommend his class-as long as you are prepared to work hard!

He puts a lot of effort into his notes (PPT) and labs. Very organized and a fair to easy marker. Follows the text well. A little cynical but sometimes his dry wit will make you crack a smile. Not all of his explanations are clear - supplement by reading the (excellent) text. Don't miss his exam review class. Exams are straight forward - no tricks.

Had him for numerous classes. Great prof. Clear notes, and if you go to class he pretty much gives you the exam. No tricks, and yes he is bitter but if you do your work and get on his good side he is great. Has a good sense of humor

I've taken various classes with him - he's a big help and very understanding with issues that come up. He'll give you the entire exam if you pay attention and attend review classes. Great prof - I recommend him for anyone who is actually interested in learning.

I can't help but have a gigantic crush on him. I think he's a great teacher. Straightforward, explains everything and bitter. People here take him way to seriously. I think he complains about things in a humourous way.

Great teacher, but only respects students who are thereto learn and try. if you do not go to class, or do not pay attention in class you will not do well-rightfully so! oh and if you are smart enough to get his sense of humor-he is so funny!!!!

Overall a great guy to learn from. He can be a bit much sometimes with his sarcasm, but it really shows that he is an easy going guy. He talks tough, but is really friendly if you need help with something. One of the better Professors at U of M

Well organised, easy to understand, intensely straight-forward, more than fair and has a sarcastic/dark sence of humour that I enjoy. Also, I have never fallen asleep in this class. This might be the first one in five years of post-sec school for me. Has time for you, if you have time for his class.

Really enjoyed this prof. Txt book was extremely boring, but lectures were interesting. He often asks the class questions and encourages you to think and support your answers. Good amount of sarcastic humor, well organized power points. Assngmnts very involving, but worth A LOT so do them! Would definitely take a class with him again.

Good prof, can be a little intimidating at times, but is very helpful when needed. A difficult class to take and materials were dry but he had a good sense of humor which helped. Class is mandatory and be prepared to take notes! Overall a decent professor

His class was ok, you have to review notes and then supplement it with the text readings. He's helpful most of the time, just ask and he'll be glad to assist you. Lectures were clear and he really explains it in detail, the textbook was not use by this prof but readings he gave helped He can be funny at times when he tells stories Overall good prof

The course content is kinda dry but he managed to make each and every lesson interesting and add sarcastic humour which I like! The text is helpful in the assignments! Assignments were fair as well as the final! But just one thing I didn't like is that the final is purely written but I think that it's for our own good! Overall great prof and class!

Do not buy this courses textbook, it is a waste of $130. I had to blow the dust off it at the end of the year. His sarcastic humour can keep you interested in a moderately dry course. He makes all the topics extremely easy tounderstand, which is nice.

Attendance is important as notes aren't posted but very thorough in class explanations and exercises. Dry but hilarious sense of humour keeps students attention mid afternoon. Assignments are very time consuming and demanding for 2000 level, but aid in comprehension of the material. Great prof overall.

Awesome prof! Funny lecturer and nice guy. I was sick during the second term test and he let me do a make up test instead. Don't know why he's getting so many bad reviews, I thought he was great. His course is tough though and the material is quite dry but he adds humour and good examples. Great prof.

Jotting down some notes in class to go with the powerpoint slides highly recommended. Course followed the textbook almost word for word. Lab assigments were fair but be prepared to lose points for very small details that you may never have even noticed or thought you would lose points for.

Boring class but he made it better with dry humor. Likes to hear himself talk, but he'll help you a lot if you ask for it. A little pompous but overall a really good prof.

A tough but fair grader. You really do need to go to class and pay attention if you want to pass, the textbook wont really do it unless you have a mind for statistics. Makes jokes, most are pretty subtle and you wont understand them if you're taking what he says at face value. Good professor all around.

You have to go to class to get access to the lectures

He doesn't post lectures, so attendance is important. Majority of mark is based on tests and the final, but they are very fair tests and all based on lecture material given in class. Tests aren't just multiple choice, there are some short/long answer questions. Very fair in marking and good feedback is given on short/long answers.

I've taken classes with Iacozza several times now. I've enjoyed his classes, and his lectures and dry sense of humour keep it interesting. Very fair with grading, if you show up and do what is asked of you, you will do fine. This class that I've taken with him has been my favourite and the textbook isn't really needed for the in class option.

I enjoyed his teaching. Very sarcastic, dry humour used throughout his lectures which I found to be funny. Assignments have very clear grading criteria and he was very clear at what he expected for the final. I regret buying the textbook because it had a bunch of typos and was outdated; hardly ever used it.

take course with John couple times, not sure about him lecture but he online class is pretty easy. lots of useful stuff, take note of the video you will pass.

I took the online course and thought it was fine. I did well in all the assignments, they're pretty easy. I hardly studied for the final exam, got 56% and still got a B+. Had I actually studied i would have gotten a much better grade. I would recommend this class/prof.

I thought John was a nice guy, lightened the morning class with a good sense of humour. Very lecture heavy though, but as long as you go to every class you're guaranteed an easy A.

Has 5-6 assignments and a final take home exam. Lectures are pretty helpful although you need to understand how to use SPSS which is not gone over in class but he does give explanations how to use it in the assignment instructions. I would recommend getting the textbook to clear up things that was confusing in class. Also helpful for final exam.

Solid Professor, do the readings and the assignments become very straight forward.

This class was somewhat difficult to take notes as the PowerPoints were mainly voice over so it was a lot of pausing and rewinding. Lots of work, but the work is not overly difficult. The discussions/assignments/quizzes are very straight forward. Overall a good class filled with interesting info.

Took several classes. All were relatively easy as long as you showed up to lecture. Did not read much of the textbook and still did well. Depending on the assignment, some were short and others were 5+ pages. He was good at communicating and responding quickly.

I enjoyed the class. As much as it sucked to not have recorded lectures, it forced me to pay more attention in class. He gave quite a few assignments which were lots of work but if you put in the effort, you'll do good. He was good at answering questions too. His sense of humor might be a bit dry but I thought he was funny.

Was terrified to take this class based on reviews but it was good. When i emailed with questiond he replied quick and was nice. His lectures are engaging. The lectures are way more important than textbook. I found his grading to be fair, you'll be fine as long as you answer questions in full. The assignments are fairly time consuming.

I found him very funny! Need to pay attention during lectures as posted slides are minimal. Ask lots of questions when given the opportunity as email responses are limited to business hours. Assignments require detailed responses as he can grade on the tougher side. Considering everything I loved the course and enjoyed attending his lectures!

John is a great instructor. Always made time for questions before class. He is thorough, funny and engages with students. He made time for several days worth of exam review at the end of the course.

John has been doing this for a long time and wants to get students engaged in Lecture with jokes and questions. I found him to be a fair grader, and a good lecturer. I think as long as you ask lots of questions about assignment outlines you'll be fine, just make sure you actually attend lecture as he doesn't post any online notes and they matter.
