My favorite professor of freshman year. For Faith and Critical Reasoning, even though the class was mostly made up of lectures, he filled it with funny and interesting personal stories. Grades easily, and lets you out of class early. Highly recommended!

This man is hilarious (Ever met a priest that said crap every 5 seconds?) Really easy class, hardly any assignments. Don't bother buying the book, just come to class prepared to laugh. He lets you out early a lot too.

best professor, it doesnt matter how hard u work, ur grade is going to be a B or and A-, just show up to every class, he gives a quiz when alot of people arent ther, just tell him ahead of time if ur gona miss a class. class was interesting until we started learning. always let class out early usally no more than an hour into class usually 45mins

Plays favorites, but to become one it's easy. Just talk in class. Participate all the time. Talk to him about anything. He always tells stories, ALWAYS. He's interesting and knows his stuff. He's not just funny and smart, he has a heart too. I liked him a lot.

father denniston is a gift from God. if you want the easiest class possible take this man--he even types up his lecture notes and hands them out every class in case you are too tired to write notes in your notebook. no attendance policy. hilarious and a really sweet man. not taking him would be an idiotic move on your part. & you'll actually learn

Very easy class. He's sooooo funny and nice. He even gave us cookies on the last day of class. Lots of handouts so be sure to carry a folder. :) Awesome teacher!!!!

ok no one will get below an B but you have to kiss up majorly and become one of his favorites. the key is making him think ur smart cause he hands out RANDOM grades. he gives you the grade he thinks you should get instead of the one you earn

Easy-going and funny. He might as well pick names out of hat for grades since he gives all his favories A's and everyone esle B+ or B if you aren't a complete idiot. Requires no work; you don't even have to take notes since he gives them to you.

Easy A. give handouts with ntoes most of the time, thgh yuo will have to take some every now and then. Teaches stuff, but not very in depth about it. I took the course in hs so I didn't learn anything new. Very nice guy, funny. You do NOT need to kiss ass for an A, just answer one or two questions in class and do well on the MT.

best professor i've had in my 3 years at fordham. class goes back and forth between lecture and some really funny stories. teaches exactly what you need to know - nothing more. you may have to light him on fire to fail this class - easy B+ if you show up and aren't sleeping. for a laugh and straight forward work, take one of his classes.

Probably the best teacher I have EVER had. He is easy, but you also learn SO much and still a great class! He is hilarious and teaches you about life! he's a priest and he's such a good guy that i would let him be the priest at my wedding! ( long way away-no worries) That should tell you something. Very easy teacher, spends more time talking about his life than anything else. You will learn nothing except strange pet terms of Denniston such as "Post-Modernism". Bought both texts and he specifically told us not to read them. Tests are easy, grading is totally arbitrary. Fun dude, learn nothing, get through the core.

Father D is smart, interesting, funny, and caring. Father D cares about his students, teaches how one should live their life in addition to theology, and he WANTS you to pass. He's tell the class what's on the midterm and final and his papers are interesting enough. Denniston is one the wisest, coolest, and funniest people I've ever met.

Fr. Denniston was the most engaging, funny, intelligent, inspiring, and caring professor I have had at Fordham. He is worth every headache if you try to get into his class. In spite of his unique style of teaching, I have taken a lot out of the class. Very hard to get less than an A in his class. Take him if you can, but, "Try not to get arrested."

It's extremely easy to get an A in this course. TAKE HIM IF YOU CAN! He doesn't take attendance (but he notices if you're absent, so go to class), he's super laid back, he's probably the most lenient grader I had at Fordham, and he doesn't assign any work. TAKE HIM IF THE CLASS IS OPEN!!!

The guy two posts below summed it up perfectly. Hes a real nice guy, funny, and the class itself is easy. The final however was hard and had nothin we did in class. Everyone failed it. I got an A- in the class cause I did good on everything else. Everything is easy til the final where he screwed everyone.

However, and if at all it matters to you, you may want to do a little fact-checking about some of the things he's says about the topics covered. He's by no means unintellient but I def remember him saying things that I knew weren't accurate. great professor!

You're missing out if you do not take Denniston for at least one course. He is a brilliant lecturer; a bit arbitrary at times, yes, but it's your job as a student to make connections and think, right? He also does not overload students with work. Don't listen to any negative reviews. They probably did nothing and expected an A.

Easily the easiest class I have ever taken in my life; not just in college. The midterm was a ten question matching quiz. Yet, he grades written assignments thoroughly and while he never lectures about anything important, hes great to listen to and has a lot of knowledge. Clearly cares about the personal welfare of his students. Very down to earth.

Fun teacher. Subject material can be boring but he makes it interesting. His midterm and final were easy. If you are actually interested in theology (I am not) than I would recommend him for an upper level course and not for a core-requirement

If you don't take Father D at least once while you're at Fordham, you're missing out bigtime. Gives great lectures, very helpful outside of class, and doesn't try to trick you on tests or papers. If you're a soon to graduate senior, take him for eschatology!

A very funny professor. He understands that the his class is mainly a requirement and acknowledges that many students mainly want to get it over with. Gives a take home mid-term and the final is really easy. Make sure to take good notes (its not hard to do so). Hopefully, I can take him again for another core requirement!

If you truly care about the class, you should be fine. He curves in the end. He once said a "C" in his class is equivalent to "F" in others'. Great professor, learned a lot!

Honestly the BEST teacher I have EVER had at any level: from elementary school to high school to college. He's an extremely smart guy, but he does not make his class difficult at all, as long as you do the work. He's one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and his theological insights are fascinating. He has an awesome sense of humor!Hysterical!

Father D is one of the best professors you'll ever have. He understands how hard your other classes are and tries to do everything he can in order to boost your GPA. Like he often says: you have to try to do poorly. He tells amazing stories in class and never fails to make you laugh. Take him!

Father D is not only a great teacher and priest, but also a great human being. He takes into account your major and your involvement in the school when he grades you. For example, he understands that science majors have a lot on the plate and tries to help them out. One thing you must do: GO TO CLASS. Go to class, laugh at his jokes, get an A.

Prof. Denniston is hands down the greatest Theology teacher you can have. He is hilarious, tells great stories, has a very interactive class, and you end up learning a lot about the subject. No one ever missed our class because they couldn't miss Prof. Denniston's awesome stories and enjoyable teaching style. My highest recommendation.

Father D is the bomb dot com. Many students are turned off by taking a theology class, especially with a priest. But Father D teaches materials that are about many faiths and belief systems. He also peppers in a ton of hysterical real life anecdotes that make his class all the more worth while.

Father D is the best Theology prof. His class does not require a lot of work and he tells the best stories. Midterm & final and 3 short papers. TAKE his class!

Father D is GREAT. Lectures are never boring and a really easy grader in terms of writing assignments. A very nice and funny guy, probably has the lowest workload among the theology professors (3 2-page essays and a few quizzes over the whole semester). Don't skip class too much though, he will notice.

Father D is often recommended for the f&c class because he is really funny and is an easy grader. He goes easy on athletes and science majors, which is good if you are one. Papers are really easy. Quizzes can be confusing, because since he teaches so many sections,he asks questions about content not covered in class. He has extra credit options.

Great professor and easy class. Only problem is that everyone does too well, so the average ends up being pretty high. Just take notes on everything he says, you'll get an A.

If you have the choice, take Father Denniston! He is such a nice man! We had no papers; we just had to read some chapters and fill two pages with bulleted facts (which is really simple). His tests have questions that we didn't really cover in class, but he's pretty lenient with grading. Also, he keeps his lectures interesting with fun anecdotes.

He is overall great man that respects everyone whether you are a student or student athlete. He understands how college is for everyone so doesn't give a lot of homework. It's a stress free class and he's a funny guy once he starts giving lecture on the lesson. Notes wise, he basically says everything so be on your toes when writing down the notes

Gotta love him! Funny, laid back. He had a smile on his face every morning. Class rarely ever lasted the full 50 minutes. The notes were sent to us by an appointed scribe in the class. No papers! 4 quizzes- mainly true or false questions. If you get the opportunity to take him, DO IT! Father D is amazing.

FrD is the best professor you'll have. If you show up to class, do the little bit of work that he asks, and engage in discussion, you will learn an unreal amount about life in general, and most importantly, God. Keep in touch with him after your course. He has a stellar reputation around the university and knows everybody, so he can help you out.

A great prof! I've had some friends with less than optimal theology classes at Fordham, but Fr. Denniston was a true gem. He's hilarious and always cracks jokes to make the class laugh, not to mention he genuinely cares about his students. One of the kindest professors I've met. A few quizzes and tests but they're light. I wholeheartedly recommend!

I had Father Denniston for the first half of the semester before he had to cut things short due to some sort of emergency. He was charismatic and really connected with the students. My only gripe is that it was semi-difficult to reach him outside of class. Easy grader, assigns very little, fun to talk to. 10/10.

I had the privilege of taking Fr. D's class this semester. He is truly an amazing guy in general and aims to teach theology through humor and life stories. Very few assignments were given and they were all incredibly easy. He keeps lectures interesting and only wants the best for his students no matter what. I cannot recommend Fr. D enough!
