Knowledgable teacher who seems to care about what he does! Unlike instructors who just tell you to memorize slides, he wants students to define movements in their own words and acquire a taste for art. His choice of material is also interesting and his grading policy very fair. Highly recommended!

This instructor makes you feel like a criminal if you have any questions or concerns. He also randomly picks on students, including myself, which was very uncomfortable. I wouldn't risk your money or time with John Kaufman because he will gladly give you poor grades for passing work. Please take this review seriously.

work is simple but dont get comfortable. Stay focused!. He has a weekly routine:Assignment, class discussion, and test. every week!. He is serious and passionate for art waayy to much. smh. But Answers emails and is there to help. But his attitude can be to cocky when it comes to art. Nothing overbearing, You can still have a life.

He will make you write about the class by the end of it using the terms and descriptions he gave you, easy if you do it the same day you had the class. he will give you extra credit if you write a few extra essays from an online page which would be your "book" (its free tho). very particular guy, very passionate about art. He will help you.

Mr. Kaufman does a great job at making a simple class more difficult than it needs to be. If you stick to his orders you can pass but me and the few class mates I knew were really not ok with his behavior. This teacher is can be so strict and so rude and our grades were so harshly graded. Find someone else to take this class.

When the term started, he gave class rules and SEEMED strict but he's really super nice, funny, and makes passing SO EASY! Every assignment's done at the end of class -1 paragraph for each work- and offers extra credit! Tests are on everything you learned and SUPER easy! Plus, he gives real insight into art and understanding it in new ways.
