Great overall professor. Very fun class, very easy to learn, and also fun. Nothing bad at all.

Most awesome prof ever!!! He's sooo much fun in class and really makes an effort to get to know each and every one of his students. He's sooo funny and smart, which makes for 0 dull moments in class! Make sure you take this class, even if it's just for the heck of it!

Great Guy!! he really knows how to make the lessons fun. little fruity with the dancing thing but its all good he knows how to get everyone into the lesson and definetly sees everyones views on the subjects! i recommend him for sure

John is an awesome guy. If you are a guy and have to take this class, take it with John. He makes class really fun and is a really cool guy. only downfall of the class is that the tests are hard. he gives you everything that is on them just make sure you study. overall he is an awesome prof.

He is very enthused about what he is teaching, and clearly shows it. This class is a lot of fun. I didn't know what to expect at first, but Dr. K. made it clear what he expected out of us and helped us get there. It's rare to find a teacher this experienced and passionate about his job.

Dr. Kilbourne is a wonderful teacher. He loves what he does and he is so helpful. The class is a lot of work but well worth it in the end because you end up with a wonderful portfolio of dances that you will have the rest of your life. I absolutely LOVE this prof. I wish he taught more classes other than dance and Mov 101. I took his Ballroom Dance class which was a new class for Fall 05 semester and I loved it, it was pretty much like the Ped 200 dance class he teaches but it was a great review and if you can get ur significant other to take it w/you its even better.

This guy is amazing. Class was actually fun, I had him first thing monday morning and was actually eager to get up and go to his class. He's funny, intelligent and just an all around nice guy. If you get a chance to be in one of his classes, consider yourself lucky!

I had to take this class over and got him for a new prof and did way better in the class. He is by far the best teacher whom teaches this course. I got an A- in the class but worked my butt off for the grade. If you go to class, take good notes, and study hard for the exams you'll be fine. Don't just write down what he puts on the board.Everything!

Great prof! He is very intellegent and enjoys what he does. Never gives up on students and uses very creative ways to teach and communicate with students. You would love him for any movement class!

prof. kilbourne is a really good teacher. he knows exactly what hes talking about. he refers to his life experiences a lot (esp. the arctic). make sure you do all the work.. its a really easy A. just checks for complete-ness.. study all your notes for the test. he wont put anything on the test that you havent written down so take good notes

Dr. Kilbourne is an amazing professor. His passion for this subject is unbelieveable. If you're intersted in the History of sports and why we play, You'll LOVE this class. The tests are fill in the blank and short answers but they can be hard if you'e not in class often. It's such an awesome class & he knows what he's talking about.

Extremely easy class if you go to class and take good notes. He is the most energetic person you'll ever meet. I don't agree with all of his views but he doesnt force anything on you. Easy class...good guy

Professor Kilbourne is by far my most favorite instructor. He is loaded with energy, full of motivation, and very good at what he teaches. Study your notes that he writes on the board and you will be dandy! Take him if you can.

Kilbourne is the strangest teacher I have ever had. He is a really nice guy and very interesting to listen to. I've never had a teacher so passionate about what they are teaching, which I think is wonderful, but sometimes he can be a bit nutty. I would definitely recommend him though, he makes the class very fun and not too difficult.

I actually had Dr. Kilbourne and his wife as professors at Bridgewater State College, and they were both amazing in all classes they taught. They are energetic and helpful and I think he was one of the most influential teachers I ever had.

Had John & Elizabeth for Ballroom Dance and they are both just the best. They are kooky and passionate about dance and are just the sweetest people you will ever meet. Any chance to take a class with them I would take.

The class was very exciting, I looked forward to going to it everyday! He is very helpful and wants you to succeed and is willing to do anything to help you. If you pay attention and do the work its not difficult at all. There are a few projects and things that are required, but aren't bad at all.

He is wonderful. He wants you to learn the material and presents it in a very fun and interesting way. I would take the class even if you don't need it for your major, It is just all around fun and doesn't take to much outside work.

This class is nice to have when you are loaded with tough courses. It's a nice break and I'm almost sure that if you even make any attempt with projects you get 100%. Him and his wife taught this course which was interesting. Both very sweet, creative people.

Wonderfully engaging, encouraging and exciting! He is great and having various ways of learning the material in class, all of which are actually pretty fun or interesting! You get to play games, draw, act out stuff. For a 101 class, it's perfect. Make sure you participate.

Prof. Kilbourne is literally the best professor I have ever had. It's not your traditional way of learning from a textbook. He gets you to learn by doing. There's reading but the stories aren't long and they're really inspirational and good reads. And he's a character! Never boring. I would definitely take him again for any class.

Kilbourne is by far the most inspirational person I've ever met. Even if you don't need to take this class, I would highly recommend. It is obvious that he cares about each student and their futures, and teaches you how to care with the same enthusiasm about life that he has. Very easy grader because he has a different perspective on learning.

Kilborne was great. His lectures were interesting and he brings a lot to the classroom. Prepare to study for the exams but he is a good grader. I loved this class and would definitely take one of his classes again.

Had Kilbourne at 7:30am. Most of the class was still asleep, but Kilbourne was always off the walls with energy/excitement about his subject matter. We only read the book a couple times(don't pay $100). Participate in class otherwise he'll shout/be disappointed. I'd highly recommend; his energy was contagious and he has super cool stories(NBA ring)

I had Dr. Kilbourne for my honors junior seminar, Games in the Circumpolar World. He was a fantastic prof and had many enjoyable lectures where we would do fun activities and other fun things, culminating in a showcase with live reindeer at the end of the semester. Great guy and would definitely take him again.

I really enjoyed Professor Kilbourne! He is very energetic and non-traditional with his teaching methods. He shared some good stories about his experiences in the NBA and living with the Inuit. Take him for LIB100 as an easy way to fulfill your philosophy Gen-Ed requirement!

Non-traditional methods. A lot of reading. Tried to get the class engaged. Different educational techniques. Do the work, write your papers, do the readings, contribute and you'll get an A.

Favorite professor at Grand Valley! His classes were interesting with different teaching techniques and encouragement in participation. He really cares about what he teaches. Just show up to class for notes, study for the exams, and do something for participation and you'll get an A.

Prof. Kilbourne is by far one of the best professors at GVSU. He genuinely cares about each of his students and their grades in his class. The course work is easy if you pay attention to his lectures. He also basically gives you the test questions if you pay attention during his before exam "games". Tests can be hard, be sure to study.

Kilbourne is a fantastic man and loves to share personal stories. He cares about participation, so if that isn't your thing, I wouldn't recommend him. You need the book, but honestly you could get by without reading it. He doesn't post lectures so you need to attend classes. He is very funny, and by the end of the semester, you'll love his class!!!

Professor Kilbourne has been my favorite instructor in all my years of education. He really cares about his students inside and outside of the classroom. Dr. Kilbourne is extremely experienced and passionate about what he teaches. He does not have a Blackboard page, but it never really seemed to matter. Trust me, take one of his classes.

Best professor at GV by far. Very inspirational and really makes you think. There was homework every week or so but it was only a couple of questions, not bad. There was one group project. Great class, would highly recommend everyone take it!

Kilbourne is a great guy. He definitely values participation. You will not have a ton of homework, but some small projects throughout the course. MAKE SURE YOU PARTICIPATE. It's part of your great. Exams are all based on notes. That will be your best bet when studying. Really funny guy with great energy.
