You have to do the work and participate, but he makes the class interesting and is pretty fair on grading - effort/improvement counts. Lots of discussion, not just lectures. Good sense of humor - a little on the goofy side. Honestly, he's probably one of the best teachers I've had - just wish he teached other subjects!

I had him, and he admitted he pretty new. Due to this, his knowledge was limited to most books/the textbook students have their own access too, so he doesn't have expansive knowledge. Yet, he engages in some great discussions, wants students to stick with him, and is fun. He expects respect, but that's not hard. Pay attention, and you'll be okay.

Excellent teacher if you understand the basic principle of participation. He encourages free thinking, he believes that while it is history it doesn't make it fact. He is fair and helpful. His wants you to succeed and understand what is telling you. But he is very adamant that you do the required reading. Overall he is the best teacher I have had.

Awesome Professor! I took a hybrid course so I only got about a 90 minute lecture and it's kind of difficult taking in as much information as he was teaching in such little time. A lot of reading; Textbook AND 2 novel things. Although it was the most work I've had so far going to NOVA, Kincheloe was entertaining and very kind!
