The book isnt used much during the course. thoroughly covers material on tests during review. Tests are short answer - no multiple choice. Excellent at explaining topics and material. Offers some extra credit. Kriz made this class fun!

If you made it this far (through Math 153 etc.), bite yourself through this one as well! The class can be interesting. Be patient. He takes basically fairly small steps, and it mostly is directed towards the SAR (semester project). The SAR can be fun to do if one doesn't wait until the night before.

I recommend taking him if you need to take ECON 103 and 104. He is an excellent teacher, very friendly, and funny. He thoroughly prepares you for tests. If you pay attention and take good lecture notes you will get an A.

Kriz is a really great teacher. You won't even need your book! Everything is clear and concise and he shows you why things are the way they are. Highly recommended.

When I saw him at first, he looked like a mean guy but hes not at all. Nice & helpful. I appreciated how he took time out of class to teach me why our dollar is losing value. (which I couldn't understand at the time) One other rule of thumb: save some money don't buy the textbook.

Take good notes, ask questions, do the homework and study. If you do the work then you'll do just fine. He's a nice guy and tells you all viewpoints-- doesn't let his personal bias get in the way of the material. I got a C in his class because I sort of slacked off towards the end-- you get the grade you earn. Recommended.

The best teacher I ever had. He explains the subject well using his own words, making economics subject very interesting. I wish all the theacers could teach like him, which is rare. If you have a chance sigh up for his class, you'll love it, I promiss. Mr. Kriz is the best, best, best....I will always recomend him to everybody.

Great teacher but, his tests are very hard because they are short answer or essay. You have to remember formulas and things word for word. I got my only D ever in this class. Only take this if you are good at exact memorization. His is very helpful if you have questions. Good luck!!!!

He expects you to pay attention, take good notes, and do the homework. If you do that and study for tests, you'll be fine. He'll hold your hand through the whole thing--from telling you exactly what to right down to answering questions minutes before the test. As long as you'll go to class and put forth a little effort, highly recommended.

He is a great guy! just take good notes, very few hw assignments, some in-class activities. His tests are not too hard but you have to memorize a lot of stuff because he doesn't have multiple choice test! but he lets you know exactly what is goin to be on the test! Easy A if you do good on the test!

Mr. Kriz is a great teacher. He taught a majority from his own notes, telling you that the text book was a compliment to his teachings and not vice versa. I took Econ over 5 years ago at a different university, and I can honestly say that I learned more with Mr. Kriz than the other teacher. Awesome job!! Pay attention in class and participate!!

Good class. You learn a lot. The last 2 tests are pretty difficult I thought. Pretty much whatever he gives you for notes, know backwards and forwards. You need to go to class every time too otherwise you miss a lot. All and all, I'd look around for an easier professor if I were you.

All his tests come straight from the notes, so take good notes, write EVERYTHING he puts on the bord. he tells you prior to the est what to study, most of it is word for word from your notes. Mr Kriz is an awesome teacher. All test were take home! The Big SAR report was pretty easy as long as you do all the tests. He is a really good teacher and he makes the material understandable. From experience he is more difficult than other professors but the work is well worth it, his sections fill up quickly for a reason. Mr. Kriz made Macro class seem soo easy. I would look forward to going to his class. Every topic in class is relevant. DONT BUY TEXT BOOK...he is strictly from his notes...i would love to take him again

Great teacher. I would recommend anyone who has to take an economics class to take him. Everything is based off of the lectures and notes given during class so if you're not one who likes to attend class I would not take him. He makes understanding the material realistic by relating everything to everyday life.

This teacher is really cool and easy. He conveys the material in a way thats easy to understand. YOU MUST ATTEND inorder to pass. The class is NOT an easy A but its not bad. THe test come straight from his notes and lectures. If you don't go, you don't get homework and you can't make it up either. Overall hes a really good teacher.

Statistics is a boring subject, but Mr. Kriz makes it easy. His instructions are very clear. Quizs are easy. Do the work, start ahead for SAR, and you should get a A.

Basically, go to class and write down everything he does. You only need the book if you want a second way of looking at the material, but his way of teaching is just fine. He's pretty good when it comes to grading. Like I said, just write everything down because the test are directly from the notes.

Mr. Kriz is a funny guy, well he thinks hes funny! Its the akwardness of his jokes that makes you laugh. TAKE NOTES!!! "Everything" he writes on the board right it down & the examples he gives write those down too! For the tests he tells you EXACTLY what is going to be on the test no suprises you just have to STUDY! As everyone said, don't even bother buying a book. We didn't use it at all. He's an awesome Economics teacher, though, and his notes are VERY in depth. He made economics seem fairly interesting too, which is a feat especially in a summer class.

Although he's understanding and will take time to briefly go over what you've missed (after copying notes), class examples and discussions help to understand material. Wish I had him for 103.

If you miss class then you have to get the notes from someone or you will punch yourself in the face the day of the test. His class is semi-easy if you do hw, take notes, and pay attention. If you can pull your weight then you'll be alright. He's pretty cool too, I actually like his class a lot.

Amazing teacher and VERY knowledgeable on his subject; I learned so much more than basic textbook material on our economy today. dont get the book, you never use it. if you dont show up for class your screwed, he tells you exactly what will be on every test which is usually all the notes you take in class. hes really nice & understanding. the lectures do tend to get boring 45% of the time.

Awesome guy with a weird sense of humor, class is challenging with a massive 50 page report due at the end of the semester. If you put in the work you will get a good grade. Need to go to class to be able to do well on all the quizzes.

Mr John is awesome. He knows his stuff and very very helpful to the student when you need help. Always answer you through email and his notes is beneficial for the test. Kriz is a great guy! He tries his very best to teach this difficult topic. Make sure you group up with people in the class in order to get an A. The SAR throughout the class can seem challenging at times so make sure you don't wait until last minute.

I took him for business stats. You need the book to pass the class. Don't miss class because he goes over a lot. Lectures aren't too bad. They're a little boring but he explains well. Great teacher. There's eight take home quizzes, a large report and a final that make up the grade. You really only use the book for the tables in the back, so if you take good notes the class should be an easy A.

best teacher i have had, went out of my way to take his class my next semester. His tests are strictly based off of notes and he tells you exactly what will be on the test from your notes. He also offers a lot of extra credit.

hands down best professor at JJC. really easy class went into the final with 109% passed the class with an A. If you need Econ take his class. BTW don't buy the book , test are based on the notes. He doesn't use icampus at all but prints out grade reports after he grades the tests.

he is very knowledgeable of the subject and likes to challenge students. the class is not an easy A but everything is straight forward. i would recommend him as a teacher but if you plan on transferring make sure the school your transferring to does not require you to know how to do the work in a different software package

You must pay attention and understand the information that he throws at you; it is essential to passing. Easy-going, I recommend him to anyone taking Econ.

This professor is amazing. I've heard that Business Statistics is very challenging, but Professor Kriz is amazing at clarifying any topic and/or questions. Make sure you're always in class and you take very clear and concise notes because the notes are pretty much the whole class. I do not recommend absences because the class time is vital.

Professor Kriz is a great teacher. He is very clear on what he expects. Class usually is in lecture format. He does not teach out of the book, which is nice. Also before an exam he outlines telling everyone exactly what is going to be on the test, making it very easy to be prepared.

Perfectly prepares students for each test and makes it very clear how he will grade which is a godsend. Many other professors say that they'll do that and then don't. Take notes and participate and you'll be fine. Just don't doze off

Kriz is a great teacher but sometimes lectures can turn dry. Tries his hardest to make sure every student passes. If you take his once a week class make sure you come prepared for a VERY long lecture.

Absolute 10/10 God. Take him any chance you get. He will give out numerous extra credit in his econ classes, and his stats class is really interesting. In the stats class, the final project is extensive and time consuming but it isn't half bad and I enjoyed doing it. Take this God.

Business stats is a very hard class. However, the class grade is only made up of 8 take home quizzes, a project worth 30% of your grade, and the final. Kriz drops the lowest quiz score. This class is very challenging but if you stay on top of your work and dont procrastinate the project you should be fine. Attendance is very important.

This class was very hard for me. Kriz is very nice and would do anything to help if you need it. There are 8 take home quizzes, that took hours for me to do. There is a huge project assigned at the beginning of the year, due at the end. The final was open note. Somehow I got an A and I barely knew what I was doing. Do not procrastinate!!!

Took for both 103 & 104. Tests are based on the notes, so you don't really need the book. In class activities are done in groups, but are easy & top scoring groups get extra credit. It's an easy class & one can learn a lot. Not a lot of homework. Highly recommend him. It's not hard as long as you take good notes.

Great professor. Does not continue if you do not understand. Simplifies a lot of ideas into small single line logic chains and makes tests so much easier to understand and answer. EC on tests to collect points lost. Highly suggested. Takes views from liberal and conservative unlike most professors who focus on liberal and despise conservative.

I had professor Kriz for my Econ 103 & 104 classes and all i have to say is TAKE HIM! you won't regret it. John is a really good professor. Make sure to take really good notes, you don't need the book so don't buy it, go to all his classes otherwise you can be lost if you miss one class. A week before the exam he will tell you what is going to be in the exam. Study hard for his exams, do homework (pretty easy homework) and you'll pass!!

Kriz is an interesting professor. A lot of people might say his classes are hard, but that is not true. I took Kriz for Econ 103, Econ 104 and Business Stats 205, and got an A in all of them. Now beware though this class is not an easy A, it requires work but if your willing to step up to the plate then you should be just fine.

You know exactly what is going to be on each test and he curves grades. Overall one of my favorite professors.

Professor Kriz is a great teacher. He is very straight forward, he teaches/discusses all of the material on the test. The class before the test, he goes through the notes again and says what will be multiple choice, short answer, and extra credit. If you put in the work, you will get the grade you deserve.

If you are taking Econ or any Bus class you must take this professor! He tells you what is on every test and the final! You have to go to class and take good notes or else the tests will be hard, and do the homework, they are essentially a short version of the test.

Really enjoyed his class, he makes sure if anyone has any questions before moving on. He brakes down each upcoming test so everyone knows what its going to be on. Totally recommend not skipping, youll miss a lot of material thats crucial to the upcoming test. Tests get harder and harder after each one, study hard and pay attention.

Suggest this teacher when you really want to learn the material. If you miss one class, you probably will miss valuable information. He makes sure you know when homework is going out and due, and when the tests are, and also if there is any questions before he moves on which is great! And he makes sure you know what exactly is on the test.

He covers a lot of material and despite a lot of people doing well in his class, you better study your butt off because those tests aren't a piece of cake. He's funny and I love his lectures. Taking Econ with Professor Kriz was an amazing time. You must attend his class in order to understand anything that is happening in the class; however, if you attend class, he gives you the exact material you need on the test. All the Homework and Test are based on his own notes. If you read and understand his notes you should be fine. He is helpful and wants you to succeed. Since this was an online class he was very helpful with zoom meetings.

Not a lot of homework, but his notes are so hard to understand. He is not the best at explaining things so if you have no back round with econ I would suggest a different teacher. His notes/videos are 45 minutes at the shortest and his tests are hard. He gives large homework packets and its almost impossible to get an A on due to his tough grading

I would recommend sitting through the entire zoom lecture he sends, cause reading his notes/lecture wont really explain more in depth. Notes are heavy, he creates his own style so you wont find anything in Quizlet or etc. But he lets you use your notes on quizzes. I personally had a semi-hard time for it being online. But he curves a lot.

Class taken online during Covid-19. 1 discussion per week and a homework assignment close to the test. He posts lecture videos which are extremely helpful. Everything on the test can be found in his videos or notes. Easy class as long as you look at the notes. I would recommend taking his class.

He's an awesome teacher. You can tell he really cares about his students and his class doesn't even require the book. As long as you follow his notes you will be fine.

Highly recommend taking his Econ course, he is very straightforward, has informational lectures and always provides feedback on assignments. He also makes sure you fully understand the content and is always open to emails.

Good lectures. Mr. Kriz gives a clear answer on what will be on the quizzes and tests, and helps you review everything that'll be on them. Extra credit is often available, and his notes are clear and concise. Definitely take Mr. Kriz if you're pursuing econ/business.

I would highly recommend this teacher if you are looking to take Econ 103. I would have taken him for Econ 104 but it did not fit within my schedule as well as another econ teacher. His lectures are easy to understand and are mainly on papers that he hands out (filled in). The best part is that he will let you know what is on the test.

Definitely a GREAT professor! Show up to class and take GOOD notes and tests will be easy. He tells you exactly what will be on the tests. Discussion posts and Homework only before tests, that prepare you very well for the test. Kriz made class simple and easy to understand. Take Him!

Take him you won't regret it. Took his hybrid class we went to class twice a week and quizzes/tests were online. Show up to class and take notes you will be fine. Easy A+ with extra credit I had over 100% and barely studied.

Mr. Kriz is the best prof. at JJC. He is very down to earth, and he explained economics in a great way to help you understand. If you came to class, paid attention, and wrote down everything he had written on the board, you are sure to get an A. Kriz will ask you to participate in class, but he won't make you feel stupid. Tip: do the extra credit.

Definitely take this professor!! He makes the class to have the students succeed. Just show up to class everyday and on-time to make sure you get any announcements said in the beginning of class and take all the notes he provides you will be guaranteed an A on test. I will be taking his ECON104.

He does lectures almost every class period where he expects some feedback and minimal participation. Great teacher and goes in depth with material when needed. Not showing up to class will definitely affect your grade because a lot of information is given in a class period. Great teacher, very nice and supportive. Would definitely take him again.

Great teacher! If you write down everything on the board you are set. Will go over topics covered on tests right before them as well.

Professor Kriz was so good I had him in the fall of '22. Trust me you'll be good if you're a quiet student you'll be fine! He just wants you to participate. Do the homework and you'll understand the material. Don't miss class because it's his own notes!

I took Prof. Kriz online, and for the most part the class was easy, but he is not very tech savvy. He wants his students to succeed. Everything is in his notes and lectures, and he writes his own HMWK and Tests, which made them easy. He offers extra credit in Tests and HMWK. For the online class there was a Zoom before each Test.

Prof. Kriz was great and I really enjoyed his class. Definitely try to go to all the lectures because he does cover a lot of material in each class. Your grade mostly consists of take home quizzes that can be a bit challenging but as long as you take notes it shouldn't be too bad.

He covers a lot of important material, its easy to understand when present, but if you miss class, it'll be hard to understand the assignment/tests. He gives out extra credit often, mainly on tests. Only assigns one discussion and homework assignment before a test. He's willing to work with his students and answer their questions to clear doubts.

Straightforward professor who gets to the point in the lesson which helps you understand more about macroeconomics. As well as the modules to learn, homework, and discussions are pretty straightforward. Overall, great professor.
