Kropf is the most entertaining instructor I have ever had both in high school and now at DVC. The guys needs his own TV show. SERIOUSLY. Kropf was one of my favorite teachers this semester! He is very passionate about world events and how they pertain to us. In my class, we had to write a lot. Which makes keeping up with the readings VERY important! He loves it when people speak up in class and get discussions/debates going. Don't let him intimidate you with his sarcasm!

Mr. Kropf is the best. There are NO TESTS and NO FINAL EXAM. All you have to do is 2 kind of long research papers and some journals. Make sure you are their every class because he takes attendance. He really gets you thinking a lot. He is SUPER FUNNY. He will change the way you think about the world. He is also really helpful. Guaranteed A+.

An extremely easy summer class. He's a pretty easy grader so it's really hard to get anything below 90 on your papers. I think he also curved the final at the end (I had an A for this course but I didn't really study for the final).

Words alone cannot describe how incredible this man is. I had him back in high school senior year, and it was one of the best experiences I've ever had in my life. He is extremely useful when you ask him about confusing stuffs. Besides all that, he is one of the funniest teachers ever alive. Recommend for those who has interest on politics.

I highly recommend Prof.Kropf! Just took his summer class for international relations, one of the most entertaining teachers I've ever had! He always makes class fun, and he always lets you out early. No tests at all, just one research paper and some one page journals. An easy, fun class, but you also learn a lot here.

Awesome professor. I had no interest in anything related to poli sci at all (business major) but he made class fun and entertaining. I took this class over the summer; it was an hour lecture followed by a movie. attendance was part of your grade but it's a class worth going to. definitely would recommend, even if you have no interest in poli sci.

It's a really interesting class that opens your eyes about a lot that's going on in the world. Plus, you will get an A and you'll actually like the class. This class is a win win. I love this teacher! He's so great at what he does, and is so knowledgeable. He knows so much, to any question you ask him in class. And does not shun someone down if they have the wrong answer, but asks why they think that answer is correct. Favorite class I took at DVC!

All you have to do in the class is write a monster of a research paper and attend his stand up lectures where he jumps off of the walls cracking sarcastic political jokes. Do not be intimidated when he tells you you'll need to write two 13 page papers! That is literally all the work for the class (no final, no other homework, no testsquizzes). He is really knowledgeable on the subject and encourages students to want to learn about political science. He is a great teacher overall, despite being opinionated! :)

This guy can be my favorite teacher, easily. In order to get an A, show up to class, do 1 small journal per week, and turn in your essay. That's it, nothing else. His lectures are amazing. Big Daddy aka King Kropf is the greatest teacher I have ever taken at DVC (and College Park). He is so funny with his political comments. His class is really laid back. TBH don't let the 2 big essays scare you away because it's definitely worth having him as a teacher. There's also weekly journals but they're informal so you can cuss.

Had this guy twice, his lectures are long, but are very bearable because he makes an active effort to keep his students engaged. He is always very clear about what he wants from his students in terms of his papers or homework (which are not hard, really), and is very accessible. The dude can also be pretty damn hilarious.

I am taking him for a summer course and at first I was a bit nervous and not looking forward to a summer class but this professor is amazing. His class passes like minutes and you actually learn everything. Every single person in the class remains engaged and his style of grading is awesome too. Come to class and you're golden.

Mr. Kropf changed my life in high school, so I'm taking him again at DVC. It doesn't matter who you are, what your beliefs, you will like him. He's funny, easy-going, but also extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and committed to understanding the truth and encouraging others to do the same. He doesn't wanna change your mind, he wants to open it.

This professor will literally change your life, forever. You leave each week seeing the world in a completely different light, and yet with all the darkness, he still remains a completely bright gem that will keep you hopeful during heavy times, or at least he'll relieve your sorrows with some great humor. Very hilarious. A warning for Christian students, though! You may feel a bit offended as he might say some not so honoring stuff to the class.

Workload is light, only a one page journal for each lecture, and a final 13 page report that is easily manageable. He's a good teacher who cares about the students and what he's teaching. Accepting of all opinions, doesn't give busy work. We had lecture journals to turn in at the end and a research paper. He gives the paper back and you fix the mistakes turn it back in for your final grade. Overall he's an amazing teacher who provides an open discussion forum.

He's really into the material, making the class more interested. Definitely does not give a lot of homework so watch out for due dates for important papers because they're a big chunk of your grade. Really understanding and accomodating, always ask for help or clarification because of the intensity of the subject. Communication is key with prof.

Knopf is truly a gem. He should be teaching at some top tier university he is that smart. HIs class is graded on journal entries and a BIG research paper. DONT under estimate that research paper, but that little burst of hard work will get you far. His lectures are awesome and the entire class is engaged in what he is saying & he's a great guy.

I've taken him for 3 pre-reqs so far. I'm surprised he's not teaching at some top tier university. He knows his stuff, explores all perspectives, gives a boatload of resources. Classes for all three were just journal responses and big research paper. Easy A but he is one of those gems amongst professors that every college student wishes they had.

Kropf is an amazing teacher. He is funny and keeps the class engaged. No tests in the class but there are journals and papers. Make sure the big paper follows APA format. The class is not a lot of work but keep up with the journals.

I took political theory with Kropf and it was awesome! Hes hilarious and the workload is light. The large paper might seem daunting but its fine and he tells you exactly how to get the grade you want. Hes super sweet and will work with you. John has got to be one of the best professors I have had. He is very humorous and does not assign any tests, quizzes, or finals. Your grade orbits around your classroom attendance, video participation(not being on your phone), and a really big research paper which he gives a lot of time to work on and revise and turn it in again for a better grade.

Kropf has to be given a GOAT Tag. He gives great lectures that are filled with fun and great things so it isn't boring. He normally lets students get out before class ends. You need to attend every class and make sure you aren't on your phone. Easy A as long as you do what he wants and do the research paper.

THE best professor I've had so far. Very interesting lectures that will blow your mind! He's easy on grading and loves what he teaches and that makes you love it too. He played very interesting videos through out the semester and talked about the stuff you don't usually hear on your daily conversations with your buddies.

Super funny chill guy. Really understanding. His lectures are all online so you dont need to take notes in his class. You do 6 or 7 journals before spring break and 7 after break and then one big final 13 page essay. Honestly not that bad. He puts funny memes too in his lectures and isnt afraid to say his opinion.

Mr. Kropf is a funny professor that makes learning about political science fun by having entertaining lectures and talking with students before and after every class. He only grades you on a few works of writing but you can go to him before they are due to have him help correct it for you. Also he isn't afraid to play devil's advocate during debate

Hes SUPER funny and makes class interesting. No tests or quizzes. Only homework and 13 page research essay and final. He does a lot of documentaries/movies. Kind of jumps all over the place. Also doesnt use canvas, has his own website which is kind of hard to navigate.

What a professor! You will regret not taking him. He really made a class which I thought I would dread, be one of my favorite classes ever. Weekly journals which are really easy and a final 10 page paper which you have the whole semester for. Paper is really easy since he makes the grade the average of your rough draft and final draft.

Professor himself is a 10/10. Hes amazing and provides everything you need to pass and more. The only assignments were a journal response and discussion post every week (super easy). The final is a 12 page text analysis essay but this is the only other assignment. Def start early on it but other than that you should take this course with this prof!

Kropf is the man! Dude is honestly hilarious and super easy to talk to. Every week you write a one page minimum personal response on a short article of his choosing and you get graded on competition. Only toughie was doing the 12 page essay at the end of the semester but I grinded it out in a week and got an A. Take him, he's easy to reach 24/7.

You will basically watch documentaries, read articles and say what you taught about them. The last paper of the semester is a little bit difficult but you will have the whole semester to work for it so use this time wisely. Besides that, Professor Kropf is the best PLSC Professor.

Great prof. I took his class in person a year ago and it was amazing. In the online format its less fun, no real engaging discussions. The discussion posts are kind of boring since u arent engaging with anyone is real discussion. One discussion post and one journal a week, one 12 page paper at the end of the semester. Easy A.

LOVE HIM! Discussion posts and journal responses which you get full credit as long as you meet length requirements. No tests/quizzes. Research paper which he grades easy on and you can rewrite for a higher score after his feedback. Overall, such a great guy and super knowledgeable, could not recommend him enough.

Professor Kropf is excellent and helps you not only learn the different IR theories but also applying them to the real world. The readings and lectures are interesting and all of them are posted on Canvas. Office hours also include a lot of fun conversations, and he is very clear about what to follow in the final paper, journal responses, etc.

I am a Political Science major because of Professor Kropf; he is such an inspirational lecturer who provides the class with real world implications for the material covered in class. He does not give tests, midterms, or finals, and that makes the learning all the more powerful! I have taken all of his courses and I would recommend it to everyone!

Professor Kropf is an amazing Professor. I took him for POLSC240 and 250, and he is by far the best professor I have had at DVC. His lectures are very interesting, and his classwork really pushes you to form your own opinions and challenge more mainstream viewpoints. He assigns one large essay, but grades very easily, and gives you plenty of time.

One of the nicest and understanding professors I have had. You have a discussion post and journal each week and a big research paper at the end of the semester. He grades easily and helps you out a lot to ensure your success. His lectures were informative and stuck to the material. He gave extra material for those who wanted to learn more.

You have one journal response and one group discussion every week, for the whole semester, there is only one 15 pages paper needed. I enjoy his lectures so far. An amazing professor! Take him!

I absolutely loved taking his class in international relationships. I loved the fact that he shows us very differing thoughts on subjects and doesn't grade us upon what we believe in but on how we can support them. Awesome class highly recommend.

He's really caring and an easy grader. You have a weekly journal and discussion post. He does assign reading but you're never tested on it. There is one big research paper that is due mid november. As long as you follow his guidelines and do heavy research, the paper is simple to write. No exams in this class and meetings every other week.

Had a really great time in professor's class even though it was online. Actual zoom classes were short but had prerecorded lectures, articles a d documentary videos to read/watch and write about. Final paper is graded twice so you can improve on it. Spent some office hours time to discuss current politics and ideas for research paper.

This class was eye-opening. I learned to view things from multiple perspectives and gained a deeper understanding of our global world. Professor Kropf is very nice and interesting to talk to. There's no exam but only a research paper, and weekly discussion post and journal (350 words). He grades easily. You should get an A if you pay an effort.

The only slightly difficult part of his class was the 15 page research paper, but you have almost all semester to write it and ask him any questions you may have. Genuinely cannot say enough about this man. Undoubtably the greatest educator I have ever seen. Classes are fun. You are in control of your work. He GENUINELY wants to create connections with his students and is INCREDIBLY well educated. You need to put in effort, but with the way his class is structured, it's harder to fail than to get an A.

I am the worst polsci person to go to, yet I received the highest grade on the final paper that is worth most of your grade - you just have to do your research on your own. Prof Kropf is the best and zooms are very short - lasted about 20-30 mins max. I love, love, love this course and I learned so much about the current conflicts in our world.

I took this class as a summer class, and the final which is a research paper, is quite a lot of content, but he helps as best as possible and provides you with all the tools. this guy is on another level. absolutely PHENOMENAL professor, and I loved having him over the summer! he let me pick my own topic for the research paper (which is fairly long, but he grades it pretty leniently) and was always available to talk during office hours.
