Wonderful teacher. I had to work hard in the class but I didn't mind so much because Dr. Lamb made chemistry interesting and enjoyable.
He practically begs you to do well in his class. The class involves CDs and lectures geared at learning while being entertained, practice problems with TAs, and frequent quizzes. If you really put in the effort, you should be able to get a decent grade.
Key: Find a good TA (like Marcus). He wasn't my TA, but I went to his review sessions and got my A that way. Prof Lamb is entertaining, but you are expected to do your hw regularly (and often times there's a lot of reading and CD work) and you tend to cover a lot in lecture. Difficult class.
If you have to take Chem 105 this is probably the guy. Not too many professors guarantee regular explosions in class. Again get a good TA and look out for the tests.
Dr. Lamb is a good man. He does definately want you to do well in his class. His tests can be rather difficult. Exam 3 this semester had a class average of 46% and took me about 5 hours to take. Make sure you have a good TA
He gives you all the tools you need to succeed in the class. It will depend on you. He begs you to do well in the class. Plus you'll see an exploding hydrogen or oxygen balloon nearly every day.
Fun class--he blows stuff up a lot...that's always fun
Tries to make class fun, but doesn't effectively test students knowledge of chemistry.
if you have to take the class, FIND ANOTHER TEACHER. i've heard that wood's pretty good. maybe you should try him. lamb's not a good lecturer and blames us when we don't do well on his tests (the last avg was a 48.. maybe the test was a little too hard? go figure) tough even when you put in the time
This was a difficult class! I got a 5 on the AP and tested out but took it anyway - I still ended up with only a decent grade. Dearden subbed one day and he explained things clearly. Lamb is a fun guy but I wouldn't recommend him for Chem!
The easiest Chem 105 teacher you will find. The curve is huge and there are a ton of free points. My test avg was in the low 60's and I got a B. Whoever complains about this guy should take another Chem 105 teacher first. Cry babies.
best professor i've had. the class is tough because it IS chemistry, but he does a great job teaching and the class is entertaining. gives a lot of free points away, so even though it's difficult, an A is very possible.
You shouldn't take this class from any teacher if you don't want to work hard, so definitely take it from Prof. Lamb if you can. He is very structured, even from the beginning, so you always know what to expect and what work you'll have to do. There are a lot of free points, but expect to work hard for the rest. Get a good T.A.
Chem 105 is a difficult class, but Lamb is probably the best teacher you could have. He keeps lectures entertaining and is fair with grading. Tests were a little unpredictable and definitely hard, but with the help of a knowledgable TA you can do well. He wants his students to get good grades and is willing to help you. Take from Lamb!
HE WAS REALLY HELPFUL BUT HE CERTAINLY WAS NOT DYING TO GIVE EVERYBODY AN A. THE CLASS AVERAGE WAS A C
Dr. Lamb is very clear about what he expects of his students. He's dynamic enough to keep lectures interesting. His tests can be a little hard, but they're possible.
He teaches very clearly but does expect a lot of work out of the students. He pulls no punches at the begining of year and outlines exactly what is expected. If you do the assigned work in your labe the test will seem very familiar to you.
Pretty good prof, but the tests are kind of intense
He makes it seem really easy in class, but the tests are crazy. He keeps saying he wants everyone to get an 'A' in his class, but on his tests he thinks a 68% is a good average...
Dr. Lamb is an amazing teacher for chem 105. I am horrible at the subject and I learned so much from him. He's very fair and reasonable. And even though you have to get 64% or higher to pass, don't worry too much. I barely failed two out of four tests and I bombed another. My best test I got 70% and I still got a C in class. But, WORK HARD!!
Dr. Lamb was by far the best Chem 105 professor I could have had. He is very structured and dynamic. His tests are hard, but he prepares you well for them if you take the time and do the work. You will learn a ton! I highly suggest taking Dr. Lamb.
Chem 105 is going to be hard no matter who you have. Dr. Lamb is probably the best teacher you can have for this class. There are lots of different things that count toward your grade, not just exams. He has you do lots of homework, so be ready for a heavy load, but it's definately worth it. Make sure you really know the material for his tests.
Good, fair teacher. You have to work hard to get an A, but very organized. His tests are more fair now than before, but he's willing to curve. His goal is for everyone to get an A in the class.
Physical science is, by far, the worst class I've taken thus far at BYU. Dr. Lamb tries hard, but isn't able to answer our questions effectively because it's such a huge class. He consistently told us to go to our TAs for help, but guess what...my TA barely speaks English! Dr. Lamb is a nice man, but this class is horrible.
His goofy sense of humor really makes class fun. He enjoys what he teaches and helps to make the subject interesting and applicable.
Dr Lamb is a good teacher and he tries (and sometimes succeeds) to make his class interesting. There is a lot of homework. You have to keep up with the reading in order to do well in his class.
I really liked Dr. Lamb. He taught things very well. The class was hard, but he did all he could to make it a bit easier to understand. I would take him if you are going on in Chemistry.
Good teacher, though tests are quite extensive. Learn a lot and not confusing.
He's a really cool guy. He blows things up daily, once he actaully did a THERMITE reaction in class, and his ChemTutor CD that he supplements the book with is really helpful. You can tell he cares about the students.
Dr. Lamb really wants each of his students to do their best in his class. His tests are pretty hard and there is a lot of work daily, but i couldn't imagine having a different professor. He takes time to make sure you grasp the concepts. He doesn't make you memorize useless knowledge but wants you to know how to find and figure things out.
I absolutely love doctor lamb. He is an excellent teacher and I always look forward to class. I only took one year of regular Chemistry in high school and I had no problem at all adjusting to Chem 105 with him. He's very fair, and his lectures are interesting and entertaining. I would definitely recommend him!
great lectures, entertaing, good guy but has hard tests- like any chem professor, so i say take lamb!
I couldn't recommend a better teacher for chem 105. Everything on the test is covered in class, though you do have to do a lot of work outside of class (welcome to chemistry). very, very organized. I just wish he taught 106 too.
Dr. Lamb is a great professor. He is very clear, and everything he asks you to do helps you learn the material, especially Chem Tutor II. I would definitely recommend him. This is not an easy class, and unless you are a chemistry genius, you probably won't get an A, but Lamb does a great job with a tough subject.
This teacher is verrry hard..the class would not beas hard if he tried to make it easier.he says i want you all to get As but he does nothing about it, if you look at his sylabus , you ll see how the grading scale is the worst!!! it s like 68 to get a d- or sthng ,, this shows how he dsnt care abt his students getting As at all!!! i don' like hi ,
Dr. Lamb has interesting lectures and applies much of what is taught to real experiments. he has a new demonstration every day, and he loves to blow up Hydrogen balloons in class. this class is difficult, so study hard for the tests and final.
He's one of those stereotypical chemistry teachers who lectures in a lab coat and always has something to blow up. he's a funny and quirky guy. I really enjoyed this class.
Great class. Lots of math and the concepts are a lot, but dr. lamb makes chem fun and tries to help everyone understand. the grading is fair, but the tests are hard, but if you know the information it's not so bad and he lets you take in a 3x5 card with anything on it. if you get a good TA then the class will be a lot easier too.
No HS chem background, I spent on average 12 hrs a week studying for the class (B-). The tests are extremely hard and long, 2-3 hrs per test. Also an incredible amount of busy work, even for weekends. Tho he is very tough, if you stay on top of things you will get a great chem foundation. He likes math. If you're looking for a breeze, it isn't him.
He's the best professor i've had. Comparatively he is certainly the best chem teacher. The negative comments ought to be ignored cause he's tight.
Awesome teacher. He tells you exactly what he wants you to know (through weekly quizzes and a lot of homework). Test questions are basically revamped versions of quiz and pratice sheet problems, so use those to study for test. He ain't easy, but he is fair.
He teaches very clearly. He makes sure that you know what to expect and know for a test. Really helps you not just learn but master the concepts. His practice sheets and weekly "mirco-exams" really help you prepare for the bigger exams. Real fair and genuine professor It is a lot of work but he helps you to be able to accomplish it all.
It's a really tough class, but Dr. Lamb does everything he can to make it an easy class. He really understands the concepts well and has a love for what he is teaching. The lectures were a lot of fun. His tests, however, were really hard and time consuming. Overall, I really enjoyed the class and Dr. Lamb and would recommend him to anyone.
He tries to be as helpful as he can, and really listens to students requests. His lectures are very entertaining for such a boring subject. I would reccomend him to anybody. Make sure you do the homework and check your answers.
Dr. Lamb is very knowledgeable and makes the class interesting. But he is not sympathetic if you have problems getting to class (even university excused absenses don't matter). Small quizzes everyday monitor attendance. Doesn't allow make up (or early) homework to be turned in. But really loves chemistry and likes to teach.
Dr. Lamb's enthusiasm for chemistry and his positive attitude are really contagious. Lectures were great, but you must keep up on your reading to do well on the in-class quizzes. He really cares about your learning and even put together a special CD of his own for extra help. If you're taking this class, take if from Dr. Lamb!
Very good professor. Chemistry can be a hard subject to grasp, but he does a great job at getting it to make sense. The tests are hard, but ok if you do the homework, read the chapters, go to lectures, and study. I highly recommend this professor for chem 105.
Doctor Lamb is amazing. He has an interesting sense of humor and he often laughs at himself, but it is funny once you get used to it. He actually cares about the students and their grades, and he explains things in a very easy-to-understand way.
He is a really good teacher--energetic, has lots of jokes, and genuinely cares about the class doing well. He is fairly interesting as well, which is important for a science class. It's important to go to the TA lab for this class--I got mostly all A's on the tests because I went into the TA lab and had them help me study.
great guy, very fun and interesting lectures- love the magic hat. He is very knowledgeable, approachable, organized and clear. But he demands a lot, you MUST go to class and recitation to get full points, and tests are HARD. You can study forever and you'd be lucky to get a C.It's just a HARD HARD class but Dr. Lamb is great
Hard class that requires CONSTANT effort. wo homework assignments a week and an online quiz only available on the weekends. Reading and review necessary for every class. No curve on grades. Difficult tests, he does throw out a couple questions each test. Very well organized class. Dr. Lamb is a good professor, but he demands WORK! Go to chem lab!
I really enjoyed his class!!! If you go to the class and read the textbook, you will be fine. Tip!!! Take a good note... After I took a good note, I got 98%. His tests are not hard. There are 3 mid tests and one final. All tests are multiple choice!!!!!
This class was awesome. the material was hard but if you put the time in you can get an A. it's a LOT of time though. he was a great teacher. always blowing stuff up and doing chemical reactions. Very interesting and entertaining class.
Dr. Lamb is an awesome teacher. He explains concepts very well. Need Chem 105? This guy has the most experience and you won't regret. Chemistry is a tough subject. I hope you had some chemistry before otherwise you will need to put in a LOT of time. 3x5 note cards allowed on all the tests. I got high A's on every test. All tests are cumulative.
Dr. Lamb made Chem 105 a really good experience. I almost considered switching to Chemical Engineering from Electrical Engineering (almost). I started taking the class the semester before from another teacher that normally teaches Organic Chem and she was awful. Dr. L has a schedule that, if you stick to it, you can get an A no problem.
Excellent Teacher!!! This is a hard class no matter what, but Dr. Lamb makes it very doable! Follow his schedule and you'll do great!
Ok, first of all. Those that have said that this class is "so" easy are those nerds that have a knack for chemistry and everything comes easy to them. Second, this class is NOT easy. Third, the TA's are useless and know next to nothing. They are just there to sit and get paid. Fourth...I don't know, but this class is no easy task.
Dr. Lamb knows exactly what he is talking about and presents the ideas in a very clear manner. He allows students to take in a 3x5 note card into every test and "mistake allowances" on the tests allow you to miss a couple questions without any penalty. I got a 100% in this class because it's organized so well! I strongly suggest Dr. Lamb!
Very great teacher. He does everything in his power to help everyone learn. If you didn't do well in this class it was your own dang fault. He does a great job at explaining difficult concepts. Tests aren't a cake walk, but really test your knowledge of what "he" has taught you.
Dr. Lamb is amazing. He does everything he can to help you learn, and provides many different ways to learn (online, book, in class, etc.) Book reading not 100% necessary, which is nice. I highly recommend this teacher.
If you are lazy and need motivation to study, this is the guy for you. He has a great schedule of outside homework and studying that really lets you master the concepts. Very geeky sense of humor, and the class is tough no matter what, but he is great at explaining everything
Chem 105 is a beast! But Dr. Lamb was awesome. He makes coming to class a lot of fun. He is very helpful if you come to him with questions and is always willing to help. If you can, take Dr. Lamb, you will not regret it. I would highly reccommend him!
Dr. Lamb is amazing!! Chem 105 is an insanely hard class to begin with, but Dr. Lamb makes it bearable. He has a funny sense of humor and always does experiments in class. It is a very organized class. It's still the hardest class I had this semester, but if you have to take it, take it from Dr. Lamb!!
Lamb was probably my favorite professor. He was funny, taught the concepts well, and provided and outstanding learning structure - TAs, animations, online audio, 3D depictions, etc. If you follow his schedule you can get an A. If you take chemistry, take it from Lamb!
THIS CLASS IS VERY HARD AND TIME CONSUMING. Got an ulcer from the class. But I got an A. So if you want to do well, you will have to put forth the effort. He teaches very clear and explains things almost flawlessly. You WILL learn in this class and he WILL prepare you for future science classes. Are you willing to do your part?
Ammazing teacher, cares a lot about you as a student. Keeps it fun. Has a lot of outside work(is not buisy work!). You learn so much! Great profesor! Actually ties in the gospel. Can't say enough good things about him!
worst final you will ever take in the world! I went in a few weeks before the final and he wasnt really willing to help me at all, he offered a suggestion to go over the exam again before turning it in, but didnt offer to help me understand the principles i had missed. The workload for this class is a rediculous amnt of busy work tht dusnt relate
Very good and clear teacher. Lots of work though: online tests, HW 2x a week, online quizzes, tough exams, reviews. It helps you learn. I went in super scared of this class, but found I actually learned a lot and it wasn't that bad getting the concepts. Doing well on the tests... thats another story, but you can easily get 100% on everything else.
Really good at breaking it down to our level. He mad chem tutor, or an online explanation of everything, and gives really good study worksheets to help you learn. Just a hard subject for most. Do everything he asks and go to the open labs a lot and you'll do good. Just have to put in the time.
I don't even have Dr. Lamb and I just have to say he's incredible. In this ridiculously hard class, you're required to watch these ChemTutor videos that Dr. Lamb came up with and I honestly think he is pretty much what has saved most of my grade this semester. This is not an easy course. He made it a little better for everyone.
He's a very good professor, but for sure is the hardest of all of the 105 professors. If you want to learn the most, take it from him. If you want the highest grade possible, take it from not him. The only thing I used the text book for was to do homework that required sample questions from the textbook. that's it. my test score average was 51%. gl
If you are worried about physical science take this class!!! Way better than normal physical science because you examine scientific claims and do not memorize any details about the science. You have to do the work but will get an awesome grade. Even though there is hmwk, tests are easy. Super interesting stuff. Dont miss out
Really really hard class BUT he cares so much about his students. Do everything he tells you and you'll be fine.
Dr. Lamb is seriously incredible. He's extraordinarily clear, and his lectures are simply fantastic! He gives great demonstrations, and his class is fairly easy as long as you keep up. :)
Dr. Lamb is very good at explaining difficult concepts; he cares about his students and keeps the lectures interesting and entertaining.
Professor Lamb expects you to memorize a lot of stuff you will unlearn in later classes. His tests don't assess your understanding of the material, but whether or not you memorized the stuff he asks you to. This class is a waste of time for anyone actually going into the sciences. I recommend taking Chem 111. I learned more and got a better grade.
This was one of the hardest classes I have ever taken, but it certainly wasn't because of Dr. Lamb. He really shows he cares about his students and wants them to do well. But we have to earn our grades and he won't just give them to us. I personally think he's a great teacher and if you have to take this class, take it from Dr. Lamb.
Professor Lam is the MAN! His class is not the easiest, but nor is it the beast people will tell you. It's all about keeping up with assignments and making sure you know the material. But, if you don't he will help you! He is always willing to talk to a student and he really, really cares how you are doing. Take Chem from him, he's the man!
Be sure to get Dr. Lamb for this class. He truly cares about students, gives excellent lectures (plans every minute out). Recitation sections incredibly helpful in learning the material. Tests are hard, but totally doable. You MUST keep up and study. This isn't a good class to take if you're lazy. But this class is not NEAR as bad as it sounds.
Chem 105 is a monster of a class. Dr. Lamb isn't the worst but definitely not the best. His lectures are extremely boring and the only way I got anything from this class was from his videos he posts online. When going to see him for help offered none saying, "there's nothing I can do to help you." Not caring of students at all.
Superb teacher. His lectures are amazingly clear and entertaining. This class hands you everything you need to be good at chemistry, although it may take some work. You may use your textbook a lot in 106/7, but I barely cracked mine in 105.
I almost cried after the last lecture because I am going to miss going to Dr. Lamb's lectures. I learned so much this semester and highly recommend Lamb. He loves chemistry and truly cares about teaching his students, a combo that guarantees an awesome professor. It's a tough class, true. But can't imagine going through it w/a different prof.
Professor Lamb is amazing! He can explain the most difficult concepts and answers as many student questions that he has time for. I felt like he truly cared about his students and wanted them to succeed. The tests were hard, but if you really did everything he told you to, you could do well on them. DO ALL THE WORK! He was my favorite teacher.
I had no chemistry nor algebra prior to taking this class and I still managed a B+. But I studied ALOT Lamb is extremely fair and a great teacher. Make sure you get 100% on all Mastering Chemistry and recitation assignments and micro exams cuz they are easy and help a lot at the end. It is a tough class but I wouldn't recommend it from anyone else!
Dr. Lamb is the best! If you're afraid of failing chem 105, Dr.Lamb is the one for you. Lots of work, and it's an overall a hard class, but the work is all directed to maximize learning. Stick to the work schedule, and not only will you get a good grade but learn a lot about chem too!Dr.Lamb makes chem interesting and fun, I fully recommend him!
Dr. Lamb is an excellent teacher and an excellent human being. His class will inspire you, both in the field of chemistry and in daily life. His methods of teaching are clear and easy to follow. As long as you do all the work and put in the time to study, there is no reason you shouldn't get an A.
Dr. Lamb is by far the best professor of chemistry at BYU. The resources he uses to teach chemistry are unbeatable. If you stick to the layout of the class religiously, you WILL GET AN A or A-. but you HAVE to stick to the schedule and not get behind. It's a beastly class. I wasn't a chemistry person before this class, but he helped me to love it!
Dr. Lamb is the best teacher that I have had so far. I used to dread chem but not anymore. He is so helpful. He is very generous with his drop policy, he wants EVERYONE to succeed. And his system of hw is bound to prepare you far his tests. The only reason to that someone would not do good is because they just don't try. TAKE HIS CLASS.
If you want to succeed, take chem with Dr. Lamb. The lectures are interesting and participation based, and every powerpoint is posted online afterward. No test is a surprise as Dr. Lamb is very thorough in covering the content and provides the tools to succeed. His goal is mastery not just understanding of chemistry.
Good class, good teacher. Lots of homework, but it helps on the exams because the exams come from the homework and stuff in class. Hes fair in grading and testing and very funny and interesting to attend. Plus he blows a lot of stuff up which is fun to watch.
Dr. Lamb is one of the best teachers I have had at BYU. He truly cares about the students and whether we succeed. He has a detailed schedule to follow and if you follow it & study, you will get an A in Chem 105. He is very good at explaining, has a good sense of humor when appropriate, and is very involved in the class. Excellent professor.
THE BEST. You have to do work, but you will love the class, do everything you can to get in the class. All my friends have other teachers and it is so much harder and they dont understand it as well. Best professor for Chemistry
Teacher that prepares you for the tests. If you study, you will do well. If you do nothing, you will fail. Funny and entertaining teacher that brought life to his chemistry class.
The only reason he gives a big workload is to prepare you for the exam. amazing lecturer. you will learn more about life from him than from any other professor.
Amazing teacher. He loves his job and cares about his students. You do something for chem everyday but that makes it easier to grasp the concepts. Prof. Lambs puts a ton of time into this class and you can tell because the structure is so organized. TAKE THE CLASS FROM LAMB!!!
He is by far the best CHEM 105 teacher and he is very animate about his job. You need to do all the HW, do all micro exams, go to the lab and you will do well in his class! I got an A, but it was hard work! Good Luck!
Dr. Lamb is hilarious and makes it a point to have a demonstration every class. If you are a lazy student, you shouldn't even try Chem 105. Keep up with the readings, do the micro-exams, go to Learning Community, and get an "A" no problem. Being strong in algebra is definitely an advantage come test time.
One of the best professors I've ever had. Lamb is a stud. His class is well structured and if you follow the homework and readings he gives you diligently, you will do well in his class. Opportunities for bonus credit and a lot of assignments make it very possible to get an A in the class, even if you only do OK on the tests. Take it from Lamb!
Dr. Lamb is amazing. Any poor grades are a direct result of poor effort on the student's part. Dr. Lamb gives more opportunities to learn and earn a good grade than any teacher I've ever had. He has an amazing structure for the class, and gives ample opportunities to recover from poor tests, quizzes etc. Take this class from LAMB!!!!
Dr. Lamb is amazing! Extremely well structured class. Before this class I sucked at chemistry (and I still do) but I feel like he explained everything so well! Keep up on readings, and ChemTutor assignments - They're important! I performed really bad on tests, and still got a decent grade in the class. Difficult class, but Lamb makes it doable.
Chemistry is a really hard class, but Dr. Lamb has his class very well organized and doable. Plenty of homework, but it helps a TON in the class. Textbook isn't too important, but he gives mini online lectures that help a lot. He is a hilarious teacher, and his lectures are actually interesting. I would definitely recommend him!
Dr. Lamb is seriously one of the best teachers I've ever had. The subject material is pretty difficult for the average college student but Dr. Lamb seems to do everything possible to help everyone understand the material. Definitely try to take 105 from Dr. Lamb.
Dr. Lamb's Chem 105 class is very structured. If you do all the homework, study and go to recitation, you will do well on the tests. Dr. Lamb is always willing to help students. Also, the demonstrations he does in class are awesome!
Dr. Lamb is so awesome!!! He is easily one of the best teachers I have had. I used to dislike chemistry, now I dont. Although chemistry isnt an easy subjuect, Dr. Lamb makes it as simple as possible. He wants to help you as much as possible and wants you to do well. Definitely take from him!!! I was able to get a high A in the class.
Dr. Lamb is the best professor I have EVER had. He makes sense, does awesome demonstrations, is hilarious, and really cares about his students. This is a hard class, but Dr. Lamb does everything he can to help you succeed. Do whatever you can to take this class from him.
Lamb is the man. His class is organized in such a logical and easy to follow way. I caught myself wishing over the course of the semester that all of my other professors had their courses so meticulously organized. He provides you with everything you need to succeed and is an excellent chemist and professor. Highly recommend.
Dr. Lamb is AMAZING. I HATE chemistry, but this has been one of my favorite classes this semester! Dr. Lamb is an incredible teacher. He explains things so well, and sincerely cares about the student and wants each and every one of us to succeed. His class is set up SO well and everything is so organized. Plus he is way funny! Take from him!!!!!!!
Dr. Lamb is an amazing teacher. He really knows what he teaches and he is more than willing to answer any questions. The class covers a ton of material. Attendence is not mandatory but if you desire a somewhat good grade then go to as much class as possible.
This class is a beast but you can do well if you do the work. Dr. Lamb is very good at explaining things, he has the best TAs and you can succeed if you follow his lead. He is very organized. Put in a lot of work, do not take this during a really heavy semester, and practice, practice, practice. There are no surprises on the test, very fair.
He makes the class enjoyable and fun as well as teaching effectively. Lots of resources available that really help. Tests are a beast, but with TA reviews, homework assignments, and quizzes, you have plenty to study and it prepares you well if you put in the effort.
Prof. Lamb has been teaching this class for a long time and you can tell he knows how to do it. Good explanations, lots of demonstrations, and the whole course is extremely organized. My only complaint: to do well on the final exam I spent nearly 5 hours in the testing center... I don't think that's ethical :P
Professor Lamb made chemistry so exciting everyday. The class was challenging but he was there every step of they way to help and assist you in any way he could. I felt that although it's probably the largest class on campus, my personal needs were met. He is such an awesome teacher. I loved him
Dr. Lamb is amazing, very clear, tons of help, and he is funny and interesting. This is a hard class, you will do well if you do exactly what he tells you to do. Study his slides, rework microexcams and LC sheets and do all your homework and you can get a high A. Do not take this during heavy semester! Don't take Chem 105 from anyone but Lamb!
The rumors are true! Lamb is the way to go. Not only has he been in the department for years and years, he is still crystal clear on the subject. IT'S A BEAST OF A CLASS. So do whatever means necessary to take it from Lamb. You'll understand the material much better than other professors- I would know, I visited them all prior to taking this class.
Best science teacher I've ever had. Not only in college but in my whole life...Explains difficult concepts clearly and the class is very well organized. You know what you need to do to perform well and there are no curveballs. Class is a lot of work but he's the best professor that teaches 105.
Dr. Lamb makes one of the most difficult college classes clearly structured and well organized. Follow his class outline religiously and you will do well. DO NOT FALL BEHIND.
Professor Lamb was a great teacher. His class was tough, but he does everything he can to help you get a good grade. It takes a lot of work to get a good grade, but if you do the problems out of the back of the book, then you will be ready for the test. I highly recommend him!
I took this class once before and really struggled. I got the lowest grade of my academic career. When I retook it, I took it from Professor Lamb. I LOVE the class. I understand what is going on and did really well in the class. Absolutely recommend him. *Class is not easy, just well presented*
If you have to take CHEM 105 TAKE IT FROM LAMB!!! He is great. Some busy work, mandatory attendance, etc. But it's all worth it. I actually enjoyed the class!
Dr Lamb is so fantastic. This class is HARD, don't get me wrong. I have never received a lower grade on a test than I did on the third midterm. It killed my GPA, but it would have been much worse and much less interesting if I had taken it from anyone else. Don't recommend the class, highly recommend Lamb. Frequent explosions. Singed ceiling. *****
Dr. Lamb was great! I wasn't a huge fan of chemistry before but he really helped me to enjoy it. Like everyone else says, the class is rigorous and requires a ton of work. There is homework everyday but it will prepare you for the tests. If you take chemistry, take it from Lamb.
Dr. Lamb is a great guy! The class is difficult and requires a lot of attention, but he gives you all of the tools to succeed.
Professor Lamb is great. I think this was his last semester teaching though. Expect daily work, i'm not exaggerating, DAILY, or else you won't do very well. 4 tests, lab quizzes, online homework, and in-class quizzes. and also I heard the departmental average for the chem department is supposed to be a 2.7, but you can do well if you try.
I really loved him! He is an adorable guy and he made Chem 105 as easy as it could be. Pretty sure he's done teaching though. Work hard and you're done!
I walked into 105 hating chemistry and walked out of the final absolutely amazed at it thanks to Doctor Lamb. I'm not saying that will happen to all of you but Doctor Lamb is an incredible professor. Explained things clearly. Is organized, funny, and nice. He wants you to get an A you just need to put in the hours and want it bad to get an A.
Best science class I've ever taken, and that's saying a lot. Your success in the class depends on your character; if you take the time to stop and learn the material on your own instead of blindly following others, you will do well. Dr. Lamb teaches very clearly, his lectures are entertaining, and he prepares you well for the test!
If your reading this you must be taking Chem 105 online, and you were surprised that all the lectures were from Dr Lamb, not your professor. Don't worry, he is THE GREATEST Chem 105 teacher he retired a few years ago so you are so lucky you get to learn from him. Follow his advice, especially about practicing every day. Makes this hard class doable
