This professor is pretty good. However he has no regular office hours and is difficult to approach. He is somewhat judgemental:diminishes people's career goals. Sometimes he's clear, sometimes he's not. Final exam is impossible, had to curve the grades.
Excellent instructor! Very good at explaining. Wish all of the sci profs were more like him. Talks fast and covers a lot of material so you may want to bring a voice recorder. Don't take his class over the summer unless you are a top-notch bio major.
This man knows his stuff very well. I took a recorder to class everyday to help me study. Always ends class on a good note with a funny story or picture. Did well throughout the course till the final..which is impossible to pass!
A really nice professor. The class is hard but you have quizes weekly which helps. The final exam is IMPOSSIBLE to pass. He curved all the grades. Taking it over summer wasn't bad at all.
All of my friends have little crushes on Dr. Lepri. There's something about him that's sexy. He's also a pretty good professor- you can tell he knows the material in depth and will try to explain further if you need help. It's not an easy class but he doesn't make it more difficult than necessary.

This class is a good barometer for anyone inerested in a health career. Dr. Lepri does have an interesting, dry sense of humor and keeps the material moving even when you think it shouldn't. The final IS NOT impossible. I made an A and there is no curve
The last review is a lie. If there is no curve, how did I make a B+ when he told my course average was an 81?? There's about a 7 point curve in this class folks, unless he's changed how he does the final in 2003?? Overall, if you don't need this class, I wouldn't take it....there are easier ones..
Fun presentation, quirky sense of humor gets through. Presents the material very quickly and with little to no review - reading is ESSENTIAL for this man's class. I'm going to agree with "Bio 277" is a beast. The class is hard, but often very interesting. If you're a hard worker you'll do just fine.
Lepri is the best teacher I have ever had. little quizzes help you out, a lot of people complain just b/c they don't want to study like they should. He's hilarious and easy to pay attention to, e-mail him, he cares about his students. class isnt a beast if u work hard
Quiz avg were a lot higher than Dr. Tomlin's. Makes class fun to be in at 8am. The information is rough, but his notes are very clear and the quizzes are VERY helpful. Try to get better grades from his quizzes b4 tomlin comes in b/c they really drop. Oh, he's cute too!
good sense of humor, but a physiology nazi
i wish he taught more classes. he's a fantastic teacher. and i think i had a crush on him because he had the ability to make me laugh at 8am. makes kidney function exciting!

Great Teacher! I wish I new the material like he does!!!
Great teacher... better than Tomlin... advice: don't miss a SINGLE class!!! don't read the book, use it only to reivew the figure numbers he gives in class... it's a very tough class, but you have to learn how to learn. don't overcomplicate the material.... sit up front!!!
this man could peeling paint interesting...he is a FABULOUS professor, willing to help students, and very thorough in his teachings...and he is absolutely hysterical...and, ladies, if you want to twitch (in good way) first thing in the morning...be SURE you take THIS calss...
Overall Dr. Laepri is one of the most likeable, wonderful, and GENUINE professors I have ever known. The best part he is Great to look at as well! A+
class sucks... he's hot! dont take the class if you actually wanna pass it.
Who says he's hot is crazy...ew. Quizzes are tough, SI doesn't help much, but you don't have to read the book to pass! Funny teacher.
Dr. Lepri's handwriting is atrocious and he talks very fast. Bring a tape recorder and don't skip class. Study, his tests are difficult but not impossible. Ask questions during office hours and use the textbook to reinforce lecture.
This class is not impossible, but you had better respect it. Don't waste time reading, what you need to know, he will tell you. Only use the book to review figures he give in lecture. Dr. Tomlin's quizes seemed a little harder but I think it was because Dr. Lepri was so good at teaching. I agree that this class is a good barometer for health pros.
Dr. Lepri is funny from time to time, but he is a good professor. Just come to class, take notes, and check the figures in the book after that, and you should be fine. The final is more challenging, but I am not sure whether he makes it, or may be Dr. Tomlin, her quizes are hard by the way.
His notes are horrendus, seems to enjoy the fact hes known the material for 20 yrs and were just starting to learn it. Focuses on his terrible jokes more than getting the main points of class over. The Sip leader is by far a better teacher. if u read before class half of what he says might make sense. tomlins a sweetheart so class is only half b
QUIZZES ARE HARD! Leave a lot of time to study.. they are helpful but must have determination! Lepri talks VERY fast and can be hard to understand during lecture...
Wonderful, challenging class that should be respected. It is difficult, but very possible to do well. It requires work; this is not an easy class where you can slide by. Everyday attendence is necessary to pass. Lepri teaches well and makes learning physiology @ 8am entertaining and doable. Work hard and you can do well! Exam IS very possible.
He's a very funny and nice teacher.I just did not like it when he taught b/c he talks so fast.It almost feels like he is speaking another language. I highly advise taking a tape recorder to each class, especially when he teaches. I made an A in the class so it's possible to pass you just have to put in A LOT of effort and A LOT of time studying
HARD. Allows students to easily cheat from tests and quizes from prior classes. I highly advise that you buy them from someone in order to pass. He says that 100 percent of the quizes come from lecture, watch out that's not always the case! I Love the Class and the Material but It's method of being persented is very poor. He is a Good guy.
This is probably the hardest class I have ever had. I had to put in some serious study time to get a good grade. Prepare to do the same if you want an A. Dr. Lepri is an awesome teacher though and he made taking this as a summer class actually fun. He knows the material and is more than willing to help out if you don't understand.
Funny man, but hard to follow his teaching style.
His teaching style is different than Tomlin and you might want to use a recorder. He tends to say more than he writes. Interesting sense of humor.
VERY hard class, but if you truly want to go into the medical field, you best like this class. Get prepared to study, study and study. Do not miss ONE day. Take a recorder and review lectures directly after class! The class is a blast and if you study your butt of, you will have an A
I really enjoyed Dr. Lepri. He's a humorous guy and the class is definitely not easy. As long as you put in study time after class you should do fine.
Class is fun and interesting. He is funny, entertaining and always willing to answer student's questions. You do have to work hard but this is an upper level bio class.
This class is VERY difficult but interesting. He talks fast so I HIGHLY reccomend using a voice recorder and taking notes by relistening to lecture! Study everything they say to study and study every day! I even reccomend getting a tutor and going to SIP! He is willing to help you too. The final exam is IMPOSSIBLE!!! PS, his jokes are corney, lol.
Physiology is the hardest class I've taken so far - it makes you think in a whole new way. If you have trouble paying attention and getting all the notes down, you should get a recorder. Tests are hard, final is ridiculously hard but it is curved i believe. Lab's easy. Definitely get the book - the picture references help!
Dr. Lepri is a good teacher. He speaks fast so you should bring a recorder. This class is challenging so it will require alot of outside studying, but if you are serious about doing well in the course it is possible. He is a nice person and will stop class to answer any questions that you may have.
I love Dr. Lepri. The material is hard and he goes fast but he is witty and easy to understand. Go to SIP, for a study group and you will get a good grade. Taking a recorder is a good idea because you can catch concepts better the second time around.
He is an expert and it shows in his authority in lectures. Very helpful, but he has high expectations. YOU are responsible for learning the material. Record the lectures and then actually listen to them when you aren't trying to write furiously. Every word is important. Pay attention during clicker questions. He usually gives away the answers.

Professor took valuable class time trying to crack jokes during lectures, but I wasn't lauging when I got my grade!
Dr. Lepri is very experienced in teaching this course. He sometimes goes very fast through his lectures but thats often b/c he is reiterating a important concept, not speaking on new material. With that said still get/share a recorder and listen to them again. With him I used my textbook a lot because he went so fast but not as much with Tomlin.
He split half the semester with another prof and I did much better the second semester. He didn't really like to explain things. He would put pictures up on the powerpoints and briefly mention them. I just struggled to stay awake when he taught... yet alone actually learn somehthing. It is a hard class anyways but I feel like he isn't the best prof
Terrible! He doesn't show willingness to help students at all, denied putting notes on Blackboard (even though his handwriting was horrendous). Expects students to know the material prior to class, inconsistent with tests, questions make NO sense and doesn't review before tests. Overall, his jokes were the worst, don't take this class!
Talks very fast and is very confusing when he teaches. I don't recommend him!
Possibly the easiest bio class I have taken. We are at midterms and I feel like we have learned enough material for the first two weeks, plus he says he is almost done with material. I find the class interesting honestly, we meet once a week and the assignments are online and take no longer than an hour tops. I recommend if you need a 300 level
Get a tutor or avidly search for youtube videos on the topics discussed. Unless you work on your biology vocabulary, most of what Lepri says will go right over your head. You don't need to attend every class, but there are some assignments that you could miss. Online quiz questions HELP A LOT, study them!
This professor is very smart he knows what he is talking about. To bad he's never taught BIO111... he talks so fast and BARELY goes over concepts. Do not take this professors class, I LOVE Biology but I am struggling because he is not good at teaching. Tests are 66% of your grade so don't even think about failing one...
I think Lepri is a good professor. You don't have to go to class every time, but you may miss clicker questions and they count as a grade. This is his 1st time with Bio111 so I think we have a light load. Some of the quiz questions get put directly on the test which is nice. If you take notes, study, and don't just memorize. you will work for an A.
I could not stand this class or him. He was honestly really confused on what he was teaching and would go back an forth between topics. I would get another teacher
Professor Lepri is not a professor i would advise anyone to take! He gives you terrible powerpoint filled with photos from the book & doesnt give you the time to take notes. His tests' and quizzes are not even on anything you learn. You can read the book, study the notes, and review his "study guide" and it will still be incredibly hard to pass.
If you have him as a professor switch ASAP! He was the least helpful teacher I've ever had. He wouldn't make sense in class and during tests all the information covered were things he never went over. Likes to joke but is a terrible teacher.
Does not go into detail with what is being taught. Jokes about failing grades. If you have Lepri you for sure should switch!
Worst professor ever. His quizzes and tests are unnecessarily hard and contain information inappropriate for an intro. bio course. He does not give quizzes back and you must go to office hours to get tests. Even then he does not mark what you missed. His test averages are in the 40s. Takes attendance randomly some days so it is not accurate. AVOID
I think trying to fail 200+ students in a basic bio course must be funny to him. After the avg. on the 2nd test was a 57 he lectured us on how to take better notes instead of doing something useful like accepting his responsibility as a teacher and teaching us better. He is very condescending . I hope this is his last time teaching BIO 111.
Pretty easy, but the in class quizzes and tests are pretty confusing and tough.
His lectures aren't detailed, so you won't learn a lot from them. Most of your learning will have to come from watching khan academy videos. Also, his class average is probably a D or an F. So, whether you want a good grade, or you want to learn biology, it probably just makes sense to take BIO111 with another prof. I hear prof Lamb is good.
Lepri as a teacher is a fun, but his lectures for me is hard to understand. The tests are tough make sure you know what he's teaching.
Lepri is nice and I don't know how he is as a teacher in a regular biology class but don't take Milestones in Science with him. It's super hard.
Unorganized teaching style. Material much harder than would be expected of an introductory class. Would not recommend taking this class with Lepri.
Lepri was an ok guy, but as a teacher he was tough. Rarely did any of our tests actually reflect what he taught in class (which I never missed one of). He easily gets off topic and talks a lot. It was often hard to follow what he was talking about. What did help me was that he, during lecture, will draw diagrams to help. I recommend a tutor!
I really enjoyed this course. Dr. Lepri is an awesome professor! The course material is very interesting. All of the tests are short answer but there are multiple ways to get all of the points-my suggestion is write down anything and everything you know relating to the question. Follow ALL instructions-when it says use 1-2 sentences, don't use more
I do not recommend this class to anyone! There's homework assignments due every week that comes with questions you have to answer in a paragraph or two. Lepri doesn't give you a clear rubric of what he wants in each homework, and he grades very harshly on them. You have 3 tests in the class, which are all short answer/writing intensive.
As a person Mr. Lepri is a nice man, however teaching wise I would not recommend him. The tests are on random materials in the textbook rather than actual material we cover in class, so it's somewhat difficult to be prepared for test day. If you have to take this course, I definitely suggest getting a tutor on the side
This class is the most difficult class I've ever taken-- and this is an INTRODUCTORY course. My grade was determined by only 4 VERY difficult tests. He did do iClicker questions, but it barely helped. He had a different grading system for our class, but most of my class still didn't get the grade they wanted. But, he's a sweet guy who is funny.
Dr. Lepri brings real life examples into his lectures and has a way of making class interesting. This was the honors section of BIO112, so it was to be expected that you would have to work a little harder for your grade. Your exam scores composed the majority of your grade, but I found them relatively straight forward. Love Dr. Lepri.
Had Lepri for BIO 111 Honors. He was a great prof, he always made us laugh. But his tests were very hard, there were only 4 of them and we had 4 quizzes throughout the semester. Your best solace for this class is the textbook, which explains everything in detail. He often goes on tangents as well- record his lectures to remember them.
Lepri is a good man but his lectures are just not so great in my opinion. He reads off and explain the presentation slides, which are always posted online. His wording on the tests are frustrating from time to time. But since it is an honors course he tries to help his students get a B or higher by having group quizzes and rounding grades.
Dr. Lepri is a very outstanding professor. I took his honors Bio 111H and loved every minute of it. In order to do well in his class, you need to pay close attention to the things he says and the slides. The textbook is mostly irrelevant. Take careful notes and be able to conceptualize the information before going into the tests.
Dr. Lepri is an excellent professor. The lecture material is very interesting and tests are short answers and multiple choice. He gives plenty of resources for students to do well on the test. I really enjoyed with him.
Dr. Lepri is one of the greatest professors I've had in the biology department. It is very clear that he loves teaching and is not just teaching so he can do research like other teachers. He is very helpful especially in office hours. His exams are challenging but if you plan to go to professional school this is a great test of expectations!
I took Dr. Lepri for Vertebrae Reproduction over the spring. I didn't too well on the first exam. I went to his office and he told me what to clearly focus on. Record his lectures because they are so helpful when it comes to studying for the test. He's so passionate about teaching and really wants his students to be successful.
Don't take the class with him. He expects you to know things that are not even mentioned in detail in his slides. He expects you to memorize every word he says and the only grades he gives are quizzes and tests.
This is my 3rd time taking a class with Dr. Lepri. It's very rare to come across college professors who ought to be very inspirational for their students. I feel so honored that I had the opportunity to be taught and learn from him again. Biological clocks is a hard course and lots of writing but the work you put into it really shows in your grade.
When I initially look Lepri for BIO 111 I was not doing that well in the class. He would often speed up and it was difficult at times to take notes during his lectures. However, I was able to pull through with a B! GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS! He's a nice person who will help you if you reach out to him! ALSO, WATCH HIS RECORDED LECTURES! It will help!
Professor Lepri is not tech savy but he is a very passionate professor. His class is intimidating at first but you will succeed if you put in the effort. The best thing to do is review is lectures after class then study all the slides individually before quizzes and tests. I enjoyed being in Dr. Lepri's class.
This class is tough, but so worth it! Dr. Lepri is funny, kind, and passionate. His lectures are based on PowerPoints that he gives his students access to. If you review and study his lectures and PowerPoints you will succeed! I recommend you go to his office hours! He will take time to answer all your questions. I loved this class!
Professor LeprI was a great BIO instructor and a funny one too. His tests and quizzes were all easy to study for as long as you paid attention to his lectures. Dont go off what you read in the textbook, just what he says. He allows for students to retake quizzes in group right after taking it themselves in order to get a higher score, which helps.
I had Dr. Lepri for bio 111/112 honors. I absolutely love him. I take notes from what he says during class and then he posts the powerpoints. He does only grade from quizzes and tests, sometimes a participation grade, but he rounds and gives you an answer every now and then and does group quizzes to help. Hes very sweet, funny, and easy to reach.
Dr. Lepri's class was not great, but it was passable. There was a quiz and a test for each chapter, but those were the only grades. He was also rude sometimes and talked a lot about his personal life. Attend class or else the tests won't make sense. (He does curve a good bit at the end!)
I had a solid background when I took AP Bio so this class wasnt that hard to me but I would admit that the class was pretty challenging to understand because he only has pictures on the slides and he uploads it after each lecture. He gave out few extra credit questions on each quizzes and exams. You have to pay attention to little details.
Professor Lepri is a humourous, caring professor. He offers opportunities for higher quiz grades, with group quizzes. The tests can be a bit difficult, so make sure you pay attention to the little details!
I loved this class because it prepares you for professional school. If you like hormones and reproduction this is the class for you. But if you don't attend class you won't get points or do good on exams. His exams aren't the easiest but doable. We had four presentations, 5 exams and a final paper. Make sure you attend and participate.
I've had Lepri for BIO 111/112H and I love having him as a teacher! While BIO 112 can be hard to grasp, you're given group quizzes to help even out your grade! Furthermore, the tests can be difficult but take note of the figures and research them in the textbook, it'll help! Overall, Lepri is a knowledgeable teacher, try his office hours if lost!
Dr. Lepri is a great teacher overall. His grades were based on 4 quizzes (30%) 4 Exams (60%) and Completing Mastering Biology (10%). Attendance is mandatory; he'll give you bonus questions during the lectures SO YOU MUST GO; Office hours ARE A MUST! Read the book if u want more "knowledge" but mostly FOCUS ON SLIDES AND STUDY THEM!
He truly wants his students to do well, so as long as you review the slides regularly and listen to things he emphasizes during lectures, you'll do just fine on quizzes/exams. He'll often give more questions than he'll actually grade out of to give students wiggle room, and you get to do quizzes again as a group as an opportunity for more points.
99% of class time was wasted. He spent more time talking about his family than he did talking about biology and he won't tell you what to study. He is extremely condescending. Multiple honors students had taken this same class with him before and failed. He clearly does not care about the success of his students. Worst bio professor I've ever had
If you can avoid taking Dr. Lepri, please do. He is unclear on the assignment requirements and will change the rubric on a whim. Also, he is condescending when speaking to students during office hours.
I thoroughly enjoyed every lecture, everything makes sense. If it doesn't make sense he is always available during office hours. If you don't know the material before his office hours and you go to ask for help, leave your pride at the door. He is not condescending, he expects your the best interpretation/ understanding of the topics. Overall great
Dr. Lepri is the best professor that I have encountered throughout my college career. He is extremely intelligent and knowledgeable, but won't make you feel bad if you have questions or do not understand a topic. He recognizes when you go to his office hours and knows who is working hard. He is 100% committed to the education of his students.
