Great prof! Excellent course! However, low class averages.
excellent prof, good online notes, but very hard exams
Not the best class. VERY long tests. Somewhat hard to relate to, but he tries.
His notes were ok- he really likes Star Trek.
hardest. exams. EVER.
Hard exams, nice guy. Loves Drosophila.
exceedingly hard exams, but an interesting prof... still those exams were absolutely killer
Get to know this prof!! Like everyone has mentioned his exams are killer but fair if you spend the time to understand the details he gives you. One of the few classes that tests you for what you can apply rather than memorize.
What an awesome prof! I thought his exam was kind of fun! He focuses on applications, not details. Seems very enthusiastic about teaching!
Profs who give out candy when you ask good questions are always welcome
he's not so good. smart people are too pretentious
He was an awesome prof. Great exams! Very helpful! He was extremely organized and prepared for class. You call tell he loves to teach!
My favorite prof, he is very smart, very kind and helpful (he takes time to answer ALL questions, even if they have already been asked), and his exams are great because they ask what we have learned, not what we have memorized.
Hardest exams I've EVER had! Try to avoid taking BIOL 207, or at least try to avoid taking it with Locke.
His exams are 100% pure evil... run in the opposite direction if you have him as your prof. I am sure that he is a great researcher but as a teacher he is confusing and makes things overly hard.
Great prof. Interesting. Terrific notes! Actually focuses on knowledge that is applicable to real life, instead of useless theoretical information. Exams weren't that bad... just make sure that you understand material instead of just memorizing.
SMART MAN, BUT I AGREE,WAY TOO PRETENTIOUS. WHEN I WENT FOR HELP HE MADE ME CRY. IF YOU DO BAD ON THE MIDTERM, DONT WORRY THE FINAL ISN'T AS BAD.WOULDN'T RECOMMEND THIS PROF.
He's constantly flustered in class, seems ill-prepared, and explains things in a confusing way. Biggest problem are his disorganized notes. He does, however, go out of his way to accommodate those w/ old textbook additions, which is appreciated.
He cannot teach. He is confusing, and fustrates me in class. Way to much detail when you don't need to learn it.
John Locke was an awesome prof! He was extremely helpful and entertaining. His notes were excellent and it seemed like he really was enthusiastic about teaching. I learned a lot from his class and his exams were awesome - he didn't care how much you could memorize, but how much you could understand!
He's pretty good. Teaches very well, makes class fun and interesting, seems to genuinely care about students

I thought he was absolutely an amazing prof. However my friend didnt think so. Exams are easy if you do all the practice exams he gives you and understand them. SO SO SO much better than allen good. He is experienced and knows how to teach.
Dr. Locke is one of the best genetics profs in the dept. I had him last year for 207 and I thought he was really good. Notes are clear and if you understand and don't memorize-you'll do fine. For those of you that don't like the amount of detail- don't take anymore genetics, b/c that is what it is!
Dr. Locke is a good prof. His teaching is decent, he answers every question from students in class and offers his help (outside of class) whenever needed. His exams really test your problem solving skills which makes them tough. The lab for this class, however, is horrible!!
Dr. Locke is a great professor. I heard that he was supposed to be really hard, but the exams weren't bad.
He's an okay prof...if you do his practice exams you'll be fine. The lab for this class was absolutely horrible though.
Great guy, tried to make class fun, got me interested in genetics for sure. Tailors classes to his students. Very thorough on concepts and exams tough but fair. Great prof.
Seriously, if you want to do well, in Dr. Locke's class, stay up to date and do his sample questions. That lac operon crap with the + or ++ or +++++ pissed me off pretty bad, but his tests are the same every year, so study them and you'll survive. Overall though, this guy totally put me off genetics (maybe it was the lab).
Locke... His exams are hard if you don't do his practice exams. I highly recommend that you do and if you don't understand any of the questions on the practice exam(s), ask him. If you don't, you can bet that you'll see it in the midterm and final since he reuses many of his questions over and over again.
I really liked this class. He does some inclass demonstrations that help get tough concepts across. The Midterm wasn't really that bad (know how to draw the different structures properly!) Really nice guy!

Dr. Locke is a pretty good prof, but this class totally turned me off of genetics! The practice midterms and finals are similar to the actual ones, but the solutions arent given. Go to seminars and you'll do alright, lab final is brutal!
Very fair prof. Do his sample exams! Same types of questions, different numbers. Go to workshop, do all of his problem from the text and read his notes before you get to class. He's a madman flipping his overheads so you have to keep up.Blind memorization won't get you an A in this class, do practise questions, and then find some more to do.
Midterm is a bit time constrained, but the final was much better. Do the practice problems and workshops, and you'll be fine. Dr. Locke is a very good lecturer, very clear, especially if you do the workshop problems.
Awesome prof. that actually made genetics enjoyable. DO THE SAMPLE EXAMS and ask him about any questions you don't understand because those questions will be the ones that come up on your midterm and final. Also, make sure you can do the workshop problems.
Very good prof. Tests are hard but fair. Is pretty helpful when you go to him but know your stuff and be ready to answer questions from him.
Do the practice midterms and finals on his website! He reuses a lot of questions. As well, he does use workshop questions on his exams so if you know how to do all the above, you're fine. The lab turned me off genetics though, I did enjoy the lecture material.
By the time I realized that he was no Good, I was Locked in his class. Dr. Locke uses disorganized and incomplete notes as a crutch. He focuses on Drosophila and humans; useless for non-pre-meds and non-genetics majors. Plants not covered at all. Leaves out important concepts like genomics, sequencing, expression analysis etc. Glazes over PCR.
Locke is a great prof. He seems to genuinely care whether or not his students understand the material, even though it's a difficult course. He's a bit jumpy, but he explains everything clearly. Do the practice exams!
PRACTICE EXAMS!!! I dont think that can be stressed enough with this guy. He re-uses alot of questions from the practice midterms and finals posted on his website. The answers, however, are not posted...so ask him if you dont understand. Also, go to class! His notes are very brief and confusing, you have to add to them as he explains concepts
Extremely overrated. His notes were unclear and not very well-formatted. He doesn't answer questions clearly sometimes. I think the absolute worse were the labs though (He co-authors the lab manual). Terribly boring, not well written, and you often had to stay all three hours. The lab really made me hate genetics.
do old exams, half of the questions were complete repeats, letters and #s were the same in the 3-point cross. notes are pretty good- it's what tests are based on. fine teacher in all
kinda bipolar - somedays during office hrs, he'd be really happy or extremely impatient/irritated w/ students. No hope for you if you only read the notes and do the text Qs. Must do HIS practice exams b/c Qs. are totally diff. Good prof but i wouldn't say he's great.

Horrible. Mid-term was easy, but the final was over the head. You might as well just learn the material yourself at home. He is useless.
LAME. His notes are okay, but I can't stand him as a prof. lectures are incredibly boring, and sometimes very rushed - - exams are brutal.
His notes took some getting used to, exams are tough but do as many previous exams as you can and you should do fine, don't bother going to see him in his office, not only is he a jerk he wont answer your questions in a helpful manner.
He was a decent prof who tried to make genetics fun. For such dry material i think he did a good job. The notes don't help much though and don't bother doing the practise questions from the textbook. You should go to the workshops and do ALL of his practise exams because some of the questions are the exact same! Overall, good prof!
He is a fair prof. just attending lectures aren't enough, you have to try and work out the past exam questions, he is very helpful during office hours (only if you come prepared, don't try to ask questions if you haven't tried working it out). very friendly, and probably one of the best prof in the biol 207 department. Though the labs are boring
Ruined interest in entire field for me. Was not good at explaining concepts; speaks very fast and often trips over his own words. Can be intimidating/rude when asking questions in person.
Dr. Locke is a great prof. I had no interest or knowledge of genetics prior to this class and I got a great mark, and was very interested in what he had to say. He had a lot of interesting examples of concepts, and if you pay close attention he really does make sense. Go to class and do his practice exams, you should do fine!!
Dr. Locke was an incredible instructor. He always answered my e-mail questions quickly and gave very understandable explanations for concepts I didn't quite understand. He's passionate about his field and his enthusiasm shines through in his lectures. He made me love genetics, and I transferred into genet specialization thanks in part to him.
He talks really fast and is not very good at explaining concepts. then again, i've never been a fan of the overhead which he loves. A bit condescending when you ask him questions at his office or after class. he laughs (not in a nice way) when he thinks your questions are stupid.
He's not bad...His exams follow the same pattern but the answers on his website aren't posted so if you don't take the time to try and figure out the problems, its your own fault. Very problem solving based course. His notes are mediocre, he gives you too much information and it's kind of hard to retain. Learn the concepts, don't memorize..
i thought he was pretty good. his exams are exactly the same as previous years, or quite similar. go through all of the previous exams you can because he likes to reuse questions. i had good experiences with contacting him and he was usually helpful for me.
Very enthusiastic and knowledgeable. Very accessible to ask questions of, and very helpful.
He's an enthusiastic professor who loves his subject. Some people really get genetics, and others really don't. In this class, the curve helps you A LOT. I think the midterm average was around 54! DO THE PRACTICE EXAMS. As others have said, the lac operon genotype +/- thing he never really explains well.
He definitely knows what he is talking about, but sometimes he goes over concepts so insanely fast that by the time you realize you didn't understand half of what he said, he is already done another topic. Exams are very similar to practice except he always changes one little thing that makes the question about 10x harder. Definitely not easy exams
Locke goes through concepts fast at times but encourages questions/comments/concerns. Exams like practice ones but with an edge--meaning more difficult
Knowledgeable prof but not very approachable and goes through concepts really quickly. Work through his practice exams and be prepared to solve problems on his tests as opposed to regurgitating information. Course material is interesting so that helps. Also had a lot of microphone trouble during lectures - I think it was the beard!
Wonderful prof! He sometimes explains things in a round'about way, but if you follow in the text book it won't hang you up. Practice midterms were a lot like the real one... but the practice finals were quite different. Excellent prof if you take the time to learn.
Smart man, terrible notes, bad explanations. He is a terribad prof, but a very intelligent person. Posting midterms without the answer keys is like DNA synthesis without a template; there's no way to know if its being done correctly.
Very difficult to follow. His notes were not very organized and he talked very fast and often stumbled/got mixed up, and therefore there were quite a few times where the entire class had to ask him to re explain the concept. Use the practice exams, they were very helpful in prepping.
Locke is very obviously very knowledgeable, but that actually hurts his teaching skills. He goes through difficult concepts as though the class understands them as clearly as he does. Also, he doesn't post the answers to the practice tests. I don't want a hand-out, but seriously, there's no way to know if I'm studying correctly!
Teaches in a VERY roundabout way - can take a 50 min lecture just to get to the point which confuses the whole class. Rushes through hard concepts and dawdles on easy ones. Class demonstrations useless. Turned me off genetics. Inserted some very random questions on tests - know his random examples as he tests things like the shadow fox mutation.
talks very very fast but notes are all on line! he is very helpful during office hours! but is always late for an appointment! test are hard so study and know how to apply what is taught in class... tests are fair
I found this class really hard to follow. Dr. Locke is very very intelligent but he whips through all the lectures leaving everyone dumbfounded and then seems confused as to why no one can answer his questions. Make sure if you dont understand ANY questions you get extra help because you wont find the answers in the notes or text
Worst prof ever. Goes way too fast, concepts are some what unclear. Unhelpful during office hours makes you feel useless. Avoid at all cost.
probably the worst prof I ever had in my four years of university.
HE IS THE WORST PROF EVER! I WANTED TO BE A GENETICIST BUT HE MADE ME CHANGE MY MIND THE FIRST DAY I WENT TO CLASS. HE TEACHES LIKE HE IS IN A HURRY
Good prof. Goes very fast, his writing is messy but the notes are online. Doesn't baby you, expects you to know it, and if you do not know it to go get help. Tests are hard but fair, questions match those that are assigned from textbook. Hard class, but do-able if you have the will to do well
John Locke is good at teaching, but writes the most ridiculous exams. The average for the first midterm was 47. The final was absolutely brutal - questions were thrown at us that we'd never seen before, or had any idea how to do. Even if you study really hard, it won't help as they are not comparable to the textbook practice ones.
Dr. Locke is by far the WORST prof I've had so far. He moves through the material WAY too fast, and his notes make no sense without extensive use of a textbook. His final NUTS. His midterms were extremely difficult as well and he didn't test the concepts he focused on but instead all the minor details. Im changing my major after taking his course..
Tests focus mainly on problem solving (no M/C Q's), which may be difficult for some people to adjust to. Midterm marks were low and the final exam was difficult. Make sure to do the practice exams! That being said, take advantage of his office hours and ask him as many questions as you possibly can!
Dr. Locke was a nice man but his class was extremely hard! Exams were brutal. Almost no one finished the final in less than 3 hours and i suspect that the class average will be very low. Thank god for the curve.
He's a great prof who is very helpful in person. The 2 midterms were difficult but very fair if you knew the lecture material. However, his final was the hardest exam I've written out of my 25 courses so far. Questions out of left field that I had NO idea how to answer, that made no sense! I felt sick til I got my grade--an A+...All hail the curve!
As a person,Dr. Locke is likable. As a prof, not so much. Genetics is NOT easy stuff, and it takes a very talented prof to teach it. He seemed rushed all the time, and would SPEED through the most difficult material...but spend days on stuff like mitosis/meiosis. Final was OUT OF LEFT FIELD. Thank god for the curve. Must study practice tests!
Terrible!!! He does not respect students outside of class. He is rude! He can't teach! Exams were brutal! Do not take biol 107 with him!
I actually found Dr. Locke quite interesting and a good prof. He gave us what we needed to know for exams, yes difficult, but if you do the practice exams he gives, you can be well prepared.
Dr.Locke's class was extremely difficult. The midterms were doable if you practiced and paid attention, but the final was completely different from anything we had seen in class or on the midterms. Huge waste of time for what should be an easy class. Also talks about his lab and drosophila all the time in class.
He's not as bad as some say, however, his class is extremely difficult. He really makes you work for your grade. HOWEVER, textbook is terrible, no solutions to sample midterms/final, and his notes are pointless. His lectures consisted of checking off and underlining things. Failed the first midterm but did great on the second. WORK HARD GO TO PAL!!
Biol 207 is a difficult course that was not made easier by Dr. Locke's inability to explain concepts. Class notes were choppy, confusing, and absolutely useless when it came time to study for midterms/the final. Doesn't provide answer keys to practice exams, and is condescending and borderline rude when you go to his office hours. Do not recommend
Dr. Locke is an OK professor, his exams are very difficult, but they are on concepts in class and the curve can help you. Anytime I approached him he was happy to help, and made concepts clearer than he did in the lecture
attend the PAL sessions and do ALL EXAM PRACTICE QUESTIONS and make sure you understand them!! (he will help you if you don't -very approachable) but He is difficult.. He knows his stuff and he talks to us like we're masters in genetics. The curve is your friend in this class, just attend and keep up with readings.
I found him a very ineffective professor. He knows his stuff but his teaching style is useless and he talks to you like you are experts already, with no learning period. I also found he skips the basic examples and dives into the most complex one he could find, and confuses everyone as a result. I highly recommend you take 207 with a different prof
Terrible prof. He is extremely knoledgeable and it shows in his lectures. I think his research is closely related to this course. But as a teacher he is useless. PAL session are helpful. His exams are imposibble. I recomend another prof for this course.
I dont recomend him at all. He is the most useless prof I ever had
Overall a good professor. Sometimes his explanations are a bit confusing but the notes were well written and all posted online. His notes are all theory and his tests are all problems. If you memorize his practice tests online, the tests are no problem!
May actually be the worst prof I've ever had. Sure his lecture "notes" are posted online, but they are absolutely useless... In lecture he literally scribbles on the notes, and makes circles and check-mark... This prof made me HATE my Major.. If I have him again I will be dropping the course..
He's not the worst prof I've had, but he's not the best. Can't decide if attendance is mandatory or not - some classes you canNOT miss, but most of the time it's the longest 50min of your day. All he does is underline/circle words on his useless slides & the textbook is just as useless. BUT the final was identical to an old one he posted online.
Overall great prof. His online notes are comprehensive so just bring a highlighter and a few coloured pens to class with the notes. The Key to doing good in his exams and class is to do all the practice exams. DO EVERY SINGLE ONE. Very helpful if you go to his office.
Overall great professor. His open door office policy is very helpful and his notes are clear for the most part. Good transition class into more advanced genetics.
One of the most approachable and helpful profs I've had. His notes are a little hard to follow at times but he is always available to answer questions and seems very enthusiastic too. His exams are fair as long as you study the material.
I'm not sure what everyone seems to be complaining about. His notes are a bit vague but the textbook does solidify the material. He genuinely cares about his students and is always willing to help. His practice exams are very, very similar to his midterms/final. If you want an easy, straightforward A.. Get him as a prof.
Very nice and approachable. Replies to emails quickly with detailed answers. He really tries hard to make the material interesting. Love the videos and class demos! (Got all the candies in one class, thank you!) Probably the best prof I've ever had. He's very caring. He really wants us to do well, exam questions come straight from practise exams.
Sorry but he's definitely one of the most unclear profs I've ever had. I feel like if you don't know the material beforehand, you won't understand at all. That being said, his tests are like 99% identical to the past midterms/finals he posts (like seriously). Class is confusing as he scribbles on his notes, but just study past tests and you're good
Lecture itself was okay, but his notes are very incomplete, most of the time studying involves deciphering his notes. his exam was exactly the same as the previous finals from other years. If you just study just those you can get a decent mark.
He doesn't know how to teach, run while you can. He's not mean he just not organized. He never has a lesson plan. He's Quizzes are short answer. Doesn't give review sheet. I took him because everything else was closed. Big mistake. Almost everyone failed his first quiz.
This guy is super vague, disorganized and unclear. He is never prepared for his lectures and reads directly off the slides. Tests are similar to previous midterms and finals he posts. There's no point in going to class because his explanations do not make the notes any more clear. Just stay home and read the textbook. Textbook is free though.
Monotone, confuses himself and yeah genetics shouldn't be that hard to understand but he makes that way. Whatever you do DO DO the practice tests he gives and memorize those not the materuial...
Posts notes before hand and you must do a 5 question quiz to access the notes. This doesn't really matter though since you get 5 tries and best mark counts. Sometimes notes are unclear if you skip class but if you pay attention everything makes perfect sense. Tests are 99.9% identical to the previous ones. Didn't even open the (free) textbook.
Dr. Locke is the best biology prof I've ever had. He's a really nice guy and he values understanding the material over being able to crack a super tough exam. I. e. his exams have been the same for the last 14 years and he lets you see all of them. He looks like Santa and has given out free candy more than once.
Favourite prof I've ever had, super enthusiastic, and tests are identical to old exams
Good lord, avoid taking this class at all. He's so knowledgable but can't teach & his exams are hard but similar to previous years. He loves flies. Just dodge.
His notes don't help you at all. His tests are hard, but somewhat similar to the old exams that he posts online. Honestly memorize the old tests or you're screwed.
Had a starwars themed final!!!! Was very similar to the practice finals he uploads but was also very confusing due to him adding certain twists that weren't on the practice ones!
Overall a pretty good professor, not outstanding but very fair. His notes can be a bit confusing but lectures clarify what you need to know. Exams are similar to old ones but can still be difficult. Really nice guy and obviously loves genetics. Looks like Santa too
His notes are clear and everything is written out, but his in class explanation aren't that great. His exams are IDENTICAL to the practice, which I thought was a good thing at first, but then realized that the class is curved, so getting an A meant getting over 95% . Kind of wish I took Harrington instead.
Dr. Locke is a pretty good prof. He can be really confusing sometimes, and go through material fast. However, if you work hard you can get a good grade! He posts a lot of practice midterms and finals and they really help, do them! There was no surprises on the final. Make sure to keep up with the material! The free textbook is helpful.
Dr. Locke is awesome. There are two midterms, a final, and online open book quizzes. If you pay attention and do your work, you will do very well in this class. Dr. Locke was very engaging, and I really enjoyed his classes. Also our final was Star Wars themed this year, so that makes him hands down the greatest prof I've ever had!!
Perhaps it was just the material itself, but I found myself falling asleep in many of his classes (monotone voice). He has some interesting class participation times which help clear up confusion about material. GO TO THE PAL SESSIONS. THEY ARE SO IMPORTANT AND WILL HELP YOU IMMENSELY ON YOUR EXAMS. Will re-explain concepts as many times as needed.
The exams are NOT the same as the previous years - there may be one or two questions that are re-used, but do NOT focus all your time memorizing the previous exams. Exams are horrible, but the averages are so low that its hard to fail. I got 38% on the first midterm and it worked out to be a C+ with the curve.
Locke is vague, confusing, and monotonous. His notes and lectures confuse me and the open textbook is no help (considering he helped to write it). I took GENET 270 as a coreq and I had to use what I learned there to help me with this class. His practice exams are useless because they are all the same and he makes up new questions for you instead.
Just studied his previous exams and was in the 95th percentile for both midterms, of course the questions wont be the exact same as the previous years, but it tests on the same concepts, not really any surprises on the exams.
Notes are enough for a basic understanding but are useless for exams. Go through old midterms and finals if you want to stand a chance on the exams. Some answers will be identical, others not. So understand HOW to do the questions. PAL sessions are useless. Worst lab of my whole undergrad. Time consuming and doesn't help to understand the material.
Notes are not very helpful and lectures are often confusing. I found going to the PAL sessions at least helped me understand larger concepts. Best bet to do good is to study and understand his practice midterms and finals.
This is a hard course, but if you have to take it, take it with Locke. Hes a clear lecturer and his notes are very detailed. GO TO THE PAL SESSIONS!! Saved my life. If you show up to every class and pay attention youll be fine. Only study his practice exams, his real exams are identical to the practice ones, literally sets you up to pass.
Midterms & finals set up similar to his old tests but you really had to understand how to get the answer. Must study a lot in order to understand concepts, memorization won't help much. PAL sessions were useless (questions didn't meet the standard of the tests). Locke's a great guy though and has open office hours. 207 itself was just brutal.
By far my favourite professor this semester. Very passionate about the topics and very helpful outside of class. Tests very similar to practice exams study concepts as all tests are written. 2 midterms 1 final (loved the final - star wars based genetics test Yes Please!!!!) Tries very hard to make the lectures engaging and interesting.
Great prof! Has an interesting "old man" sense of humour, and is really helpful during his office hours. His midterms are quite tricky, but the curve makes it so that an 80% is an A+. What's great is that he has his own FREE condensed textbook online that helps clarify any concept briefly covered in class.
207 was a ride, man. I'd get destroyed by the exams, go to Locke and successfully argue for 20%, study everything only to be tested on a fraction of it, go through his practice finals and be given the same (except Star Wars themed) final as the practice all while getting 50s on lab assignments. Would not recommend for the faint of heart.
He is trying to be an engaging prof and tries to help students in variety of ways (encourages PAL, squire, always starts class with a Q&A) but 207 is just really heavy and tough.
Locke is a solid professor, his lectures are good and he takes time each class to answer questions, plus his exams are almost exactly like the practice ones! Thing with 207 is you go to the lectures to understand the material, but you go to PAL sessions to know the application, which is crucial for the exams. So - GO TO PAL!
Probably the most straightforward A in a heavy science course that you can get. This man is a gem-- the last 3rd of the course was kind of a mess but if you understand the previous tests, you're SERIOUSLY golden. That's all I ended up doing for the final. He's also pretty funny. It's a tough course but PAL helps and the textbook's free!
Lectures have nothing to do with exams, exams are all written. He only reads off slides during the lecture but does answer a fair amount of questions. His exams are pretty hard, attending lectures is useless, and it does not help that this course is already hard. 10/10 would not recommend and will never take a course with him again.
One of my best bio profs! Always willing to help students outside of class. and he paces the class so students understand the content. The exams are really fair as long as you do the practice finals and review the PAL questions. I hated bio 207 but Locke was a gem!
He reads off his slides completely and his diagrams are SO CONFUSING. He's pretty nice and takes lots of questions. Practice exams have the same concepts covered on the actual exam (not exact same questions though!) I found that he made things much more complicated than they really were but it wasn't too bad.
Biol 207 is a tricky class, John Locke has obviously been teaching it for many years and doesn't really seem to offer any help in terms of understanding difficult concepts. His midterms are a lot harder than the practice he gives, and the only thing that will likely save you grade in this class is the 40% lab portion (with no lab final thank god)
Biol 207 is a hard course, but if you have to take it, take it with Locke. His notes are very detailed, eventually you figure out what's important and what isn't. He gives PLENTY of practice exams though, and there are no surprises on his actual exams. ALWAYS go to PAL, it saves you so much studying and shows you how to apply concepts for the exams
This class is literal death. I changed my major because of it. Locke is the worst prof I have ever had, by far. Save yourself and take this class with someone else if you absolutely need it. The tests are all written and all applied questions. Half of the stuff taught in lecture isn't seen on them and he never fully explains any one concept.
Man is a literal gem. His practice midterms/finals were almost identical to the real things. However, COME TO CLASS!! His slides are detailed but his explanations are super helpful. Bio 207 is a hard course, but taking it w/ Locke is probably the best thing you can do.
Dr. Locke is extremely knowledgable on the material and is honestly a wonderful person. He can be a tough grader because he's a little particular, but he gets grades back really fast. He's always accessible and willing to answer any question, and will explain it until you understand it completely. Also, make sure you go to the PAL sessions!
Locke and load, everyone get ready for a class with John Locke. Overall he is decent and I understand genetics is quite confusing and can be tough to teach. However, his tests are all written and not clear to understand. Office hours are how I survived his class, but he doesn't answer questions clearly. Read his textbook! (It's free)
Material for this class was very easy but his exams were a little hard because he requires VERY specific things to get full marks; even if a question doesn't ask for something it will part of what get's you full marks. Thus, first midterm is hard, but it picks up after! He's a nice guy and super friendly and helpful in person!
Amazing! The course is hard, but he explains it very well, has great notes and cares about your success. He answers all questions before moving on, and is very accessible outside of class. The exams are tough, but he posts multiple practice exams with answer keys that are VERY similar to the real exam so do them and you're fine!
