Best teacher. Extremely organized. Relates concept to real life. Gives out printed handouts of each lecture. The entire tests are solely based on his handouts. Study the handouts and you will succeed. He is a great teacher. Clear, and reasonable.

For some students it made seem that his lecture notes are not helpful however, for me it was very helpful becuase it guided me towards what I really needed to know for the class. Because studying Bio. is like a mission impossible. To know everything in 12 weeks is an absolute impossibility. I still have his notes and I treasure them like goal.

i agree, he is very funny and of course HOT, but his tests are very difficult, don't really know what to expect and what to study. there are some questions that can be answered due to memorization, but mostly based on your understanding. his notes are clear but you still have to spend some time with the book, to get a clearer picture.

Prof Lopez can teach. He explains his lectures in a way that the majority of the class understand it. He makes his lectures very funny and interesting which really catches ur attention. His quizes are easy BUT his test are really hard esp when ur taking it in a six week course. He can be scary at times, but he is a nice guy underneath his moodiness

He is an amazing teacher but has horrible mood swings. Gives a lot of material, always read ahead and pay attention when he talks... I didnt even use the textbook, only his notes. Towards the end he likes to give quizzes and exams that cover a lot of material on the same day that can change ur grade from an A to a B so be careful and READ AHEAD.

His class is for the studious not the slacker. If you really want to know the subject go with Dr. Lopez and be his "colleague."

He is a nice person but he gives you the course from a medical perspective since he is an MD. As for the tests, two 100 question tests and a practical in 3 days does not give you enough time to study. Very unrealistic. I like the guy and he is very knowledgeable but he expects you to remember the names of the drugs used for certain diseases.

Oh please he is not the worst Prof in KCC. This class is ONLY hard if you make it hard. He basically gives you everything. I don't see what the problem is. He does have a temper in lab; but what instructor doesn't? Let's be serious now!

He is extremely clear and concise. His material is presented in a manner which is relatable to every day life thus making retaining information that much easier. Any "moodswings" I've seen were presented for good reason: texting in his class, speaking over his theory lecture, and/or other disrespectful behavior from students. He's top notch.

I m taking his bio 11 course now for the winter session..... He is so amazing. Best professor in the bio department I ever had. Will take him for future bio 51 class. took Bio11 for winter session he will give you study guide for each lecture and test from there. make sure you write what he says out of context it will be on test too!! he will understand if you are absent. no make up for lab part. little moody if you keep asking same questions but will answer & leave you with no doubt. will take for bio51

had him combined with rozenboym. since she didn't explain the material we did very little hands on in his lab since he had to teach what we were supposed to cover in lecture. he gives out notes and his diagrams are always close to twenty points on the exams so know them well. read his notes before the lecture even if you have him only for lab.

Dr Lopez is a amazing professor! He is very clear about what he expects from his students and you will have to work hard for your grade. He provides powerpoints, lecture notes & real scenarios in the medical setting. Make sure to participate in class and come prepared. His test questions come from his powerpoints so review each in detail!

Dr. Lopez is one of the best professors I have ever had. The BIO12 class I took with him completely changed how I look at the human body. That being said, if you expect an A just for showing up, don't even bother registering for his class, you will have to earn your grade. He is very clear both in his lectures and with the grading policy.

currently taking micro bio with him.. Clear and understanding great professor , provides all packet material needed to know for exams. He is very fair in my opinion, if your a good & focused student dont be afraid to take him you won't be dissapointed.

He knows how to teach, he provide some good slide that will help you with the exam. Don't be aggressive whenever hes giving extra credits. He scream at me for 2 points. Best teacher ever. I have a bachelors and I've had many professors. He is the very best, the nutty professor. I know who wrote the last comment about him yelling about extra credit. Yes he does get moody. He is very passionate about biology and there is not a dull moment. I am sad that class is over and thankful that I've had the chance to be a student in his class.

Doctor Lopez is extremely charismatic, MOODY (okay, usually for a reason ;)) caring and intelligent professor. He will push you to your limits and will gladly help you with any questions OUTSIDE the classroom. He is allergic to gum chewing, stupid questions, being interrupted and hates repeating himself. Took in the summer session. He definitely makes you work for your grade because micro is a hard class, but he cares about each student. He knows he's moody, so don't mention it. He gave some extra credit on exams and quizzes, and I didn't have to write the lab reports, just get tested on the unknown, but that might've been for the short session.

Took him for Biology lab only and it wasnt that bad. He gave out homework which would be easy and help bring your grade up. The quizzes and practicals were based on the notes he would post on blackboard you just need to study hard. He also does extra credit which really helps and is funny. Great professor would take him again.

At first I wanted to drop the class because I didnt do so well on my first exam, but Im happy I stuck it out. The first time around, I didnt take him serious when he said to study only his notes!! I studied from google and textbooks, smh big mistake. Once I started using his notes to study it really made a difference.

His lectures and labs are interesting. There is a lot of information to learn but it is a Bio, anyway you need to read and learn a lot. The notes he gives is very informative, all information that you need to know.
