Best history teacher I ever had!! I am not a history person but this professor made history very intriguing for me.The format is all discussions and test so there is a lot of reading and writing but you will walk away with a greater understanding of history. The discussions make the class very interactive. Take his class, you will not regret it!

Best teacher I've had in college! There is a lot of writing for the discussions but it comes easily with the way Professor Mack teaches. He is great at leading discussions and helping all students to gain a better understanding of the subject.

Great history teacher. Uses book mainly for tests. Weekly discussions based on analyzing actual historical artifacts just as a historian would. Lots of extra credit opportunities and is always available for you. Uses facebook to interact with students and encourages student interaction. Starting liking the class and ended loving it.

GREAT professor. Assignments were easy, just read the online notes and do your discussions. Only used the book for tests. He is very interactive and gives numerous extra credit oportunites. This is one of the greatest teachers that I have ever came across!!!If you dont like history but you have to take it and want an easy A, take him!!All you have to do is do the quizzes and read chapters, discussions and worksheets for each chapter but it is very easy!!!I highly reccommend him!!

Class was great and easy i took him online. 3 disucssion post -1 10 sent. and 2 response 7 sent. 16 chapter quizzes no time limit, 5-10 questions each. 1 test 25 questions for the final 7-worksheets. Simply put, if you take this class and fail it is completely your fault. This instructor was meant to be a history teacher. He teaches this class unlike you have ever been taught before and makes you look at it in ways you never thought. There are quizzes,discussions and worksheets and one small final exam that he gives a study guide for.

Currenly taking this class online. I enjoy it, and look forward to interesting info that he provides, as it is very insighful. He is very passionate about what he does. The work load is fairy heavy, but not too dificult to comprehend. If you fail this class, it is YOUR FAULT. Heis not the kind of prof who makes it difficult for one to pass.

Truly is an easy A course is mostly discussion questions 1 assignment per week based on the chapters read and the test are never more than 15 questions.There is very little use of the actual textbook needed because most assignments are based off outsourced readings(which you will learn about).Your questions and concerns are responded to promptly.

If you are looking for an easy A and learning something valuable in life, this is the class for you, my friend. This online class will be different from all the others, the discussions are so interesting and interactive, you will learn a whole lot. This professor is the bomb, he will make you like history! The absolute best history class I've ever taken! He does not make you memorize a myriad of dates, places, names, etc. Instead, he encourages you to explore primary sources to learn about history from the time it happened. Take this class! Easy A and tons of extra credit if you just do the work!!

I only have good and great things to say about Dr.Mack. I took him this fall and I received an A. He is very helpful but you must do your work. Quiz and final exam were very easy. The discussion are too, but you must follow the required length. There are weekly discussion in I college, but trust you can do it if you make an efford. He is the best.

I loved this professor! He always posted helpful videos that answered any qustions I ever had. He was very cool in the way he graded his discussions. You could exactly what you felt or thought and as long as you answered his questions and followed to length guidelines you got full credit.

DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE A FULL LOAD. He is a nice professor and all but his work load is insane. I would recommend taking it alone or with not so demanding classes. I am contemplating dropping. History class should not involve this much work.

His quizzes are super easy as long as you read the chapters. Prof. Mack was both resourceful and vibrant. His use of teaching methods was unheard of: 6 quizzes, 3 primary analysis, 7 discussions, and a final exam. Though, this may be true all of it is both feasible and beneficial - in the end I had earned an "A+." Hard work pays off in the end... Simply do the work and you can't go wrong.

Dr. Mack was great! I didn't even touch the book and I barely had any interaction with him --and I still came out with an A. He gives plenty of Extra Credit so there's no reason you should fail. Just follow his instructions with his word requirements and you'll be fine. Wish he taught other subjects!

I took this online and enjoyed it. There is a lot of reading and short quizzes over each chapter(with multiple tries. There were three Primary Analysis assignments. They were time consuming, but very intesting. They required a couple of pages of writing. It's a full workload, but easy class and VERY helpful professor.

Professor Mack is great about laying the groundwork for when examining historic events. This helps the student to place things in context and better understand what factored in decisions by leaders and people. He attempts to show that all issues have multiple facets contributing and history is ever changing and our interpretation of it is too.

Take HIST with MACK! You will not be disappointed. He's very helpful and straightforward. Just do the assignments on time and everything will be good. This is the second History class that I have taken with Professor Mack. He is one of the best professors that I have had at GPC. He outlines each Unit and gives you a step-by-step guide so that you know you have completed all of the posts and assignments. I LOVED both of his courses and if you take him, you won't regret it! This is the first time ever that I enjoy learning History. Each unit he organizes everything you need do in an "Overview Assignment" file with check-box so if it is easy to follow. His lecture videos are short but very to-the-point and interesting. His reading quizzes and exam are easy, but you definitely have to read the book to get an A.

Took half semester; lots of reading but if you do the work you will get an A. Writingdiscussion assignments are short and actually quite interesting. An excellent teacher who is engaged in the class. I took this class in the half semester and got a great deal out of it. Professor Mack inspires thought and discussion among the class even though it is online. I loved this class.

Make sure you do all his homework (discussions) and follow his grading rubric while you do it. Make sure you read the text before taking the quizzes, as they are based on stuff straight out of the book. Do these 2 things, and the class will be a piece of cake. Easy A.

He is helpful, gives extra credit and he is clear on what he expects on the assignments. He give s a grading rubric for every assignment. TAKE HIM!!

PROFESSOR JOHN MACK IS ABSOLUTELY THE BEST HIST. PROFESSOR. His class is very easy, you can expect an A if you complete all the chapter quizzes(you get 3 tries per quiz and take your time very easy questions), and do the discussion posts. He gives no test, only the final. The discussion post are very clear and easy. EASY A WITH PROFESSOR MACK!

Professor John Mack is really clear and grades fast and lets you know how you're doing throughout the semester. He is awesome, if you do something wrong he lets you know and gives you another chance. I recently took Professor Mack's 8 week US history course and loved it! Expect to read and write, but also to learn! I had a lot of fun and didn't think I could enjoy a history class. He makes everything clear and even gives you a weekly checklist to make sure you've finished assignment ! He answers questions quickly and is very helpful! Recommend!

I've taken Professor Mack twice now. Before his class I was awful at history, but he was an AWESOME teacher! I highly recommend him. Just don't get behind on online quizzes and you'll do great. He's always available to help and very specific on his expectations. AMAZING teacher!

Professor John Mack is amazing! I highly recommend him. I took his class for world history 1112, and i am definitely taking him for American history. His assignments are clear and easy. You just have to watch his videos in the beginning of every unit and you will get everything. He responds to emails very fasts and he is so clear in what he wants.

I've taken Professor Mack for both of my history courses. He makes learning history enjoyable even though it is a lot of work. The course is very organized and clear so there shouldn't be any problems. Once you get used to his style, it's not so bad. :) Super Easy A. Highly recommended!

Professor Mack was awesome! Probably my favorite teacher at GPC. Responds very quickly to questions, he has a check list each Unit so you know exactly what you need to do, has extra credit opportunities, and he gives interesting material for you to read. I'll recommend him to anyone!

Great professor to take history with. He teaches more than just history. As long as you make an effort to participate, he grades pretty fairly. A lot of reading involved but it really helps in your understanding of the work

This class was ALOT! He is very clear but sometimes not so much. Assigned a 400 word essay on the topic of your choice but put so many restrictions it was hard to find a topic then came back and asks you to revise it. Lots of EXTRA so be prepared to read everything b/c you cant just write your essay on the subject he asks, there is always more req.

In his half semester online class, a good core of your grade relies on the weekly discussions and chapter quizzes. You write 3 - 4 mini essays a week based on the plethora of primary sources and secondary sources provided in the form of links and the textbook. As long as you commit to doing the work and stay organized, you should be fine.

Great teacher. Dr. Mack genuinely cares about you and you learning. He is always available to help, and is all over social media. He even reminds you to do assignments. He teaches critical thinking skills and makes history interesting with his ability to help you connect it to the present. Highly recommended.

This class is extremely reading heavy. Requires many hours of study per week and active participation. All grading criteria is available at the beginning of the semester. There are no surprises. As long as you ready and participate, you will get a good grade.

If you want to make an A, read the text book, and always write your papers per the rubric.

Professor Mack has been one of my favorite teachers! The workload seems alot to manage in the beginning but once you get into it you realize it is completely manageable. And I work a full-time job and I was taking 2 classes. He provides great feedback, is engaged with his students and has a facebook page to keep in touch with his students.

Online classes are challenging, but not when you have an excellent professor. Professor Mack is always willing to help, is clear on his expectations and gives good feedback. Except to do some work, but if you do it its not difficult to pass. Would take him again without a doubt.

Get ready to read and take notes. He uses crash course videos which are easy to follow. Then lotssssss of reading. But if you take notes and try during discussions he's fair. Grade is always available.

Dr. Mack is responsive to any questions a student presents him. He is a pretty fair grader and allowed my class to have a couple of extended deadlines. He also gave everyone the opportunity to redo quizzes. Honestly, if you are unsuccessful in his class then you have no one to blame but yourself.

Prof. Mack is a great teacher. You will be reading and writing a lot in this course. But, you have plenty of time to do all the assignments. He has several videos to assist in assignments and the rubric clearly outlines what he is looking for in the assignments. Extra credit was given as well for a bit of a grade boost.

28 (yes, 28) total Reading Quizzes w/ Lockdown Browser, 4 unit discussion essays- 400 words each w/ a total of 12 responses - 200 words each. Final is a 1500 word written Essay.

Great Professor, passionate about teaching, very understanding. Many people say its hard but it not just study and ask for help if needed. He is very understanding and you should make an A in his class if you do the work and communicate. The best history professor I had.

Get ready to read!!!! every week we did a reading quiz and a short essay OR discussion post. he responds fast to emails/texts. I recommend you send him your essays to read before submitting them so he can edit them. He's a great professor. I recommend you to take him!!

Professor Mack is a fantastic professor. Responds almost instantly to your texts, and responds to your email the same day, or the next day if not. There is a great amount of reading but it's nothing you can't comprehend. All you have to do is keep up each week, and do your work to get an A! Amazing professor!

His assignments take a fair amount of time to complete. It's usually the same routine of an assignment and paper every week but it has taught me how to be a better researcher and enjoy history!

I took him for a 4 week summer semester and the class was just fine. 1 worksheet, 5 quizzes, 2 papers, and a discussion for a final. He provided the book, so you didnt have to buy it. My only 2 cons is he puts word minimums on every writing assignment (which got annoying quick) and he can take points off for little stuff; so watch out for that

He provided the text to read and some of them had links to CrashCourse videos. One of the most trivial graders Ive ever experienced. He doesnt even tell you what you lost the points for either. His feedback is just him telling you good job for doing the assignments. His rubrics were infuriating to read. I got an A but, he needs to work on that

THE BEST history professor I've ever had. 5 short papers, over 12 quizzes, and around 4 (heavy) discussion posts. You have to earn it. The only professor who actually has made me remember a lot of key important historical information. He provides the textbook for you, and provides explanation videos to make it less difficult to understand!

He is a very nice and respectful teacher. He is very clear about his grading so as long as you do the work you will get the grade you deserve. His class is mostly discussions (1 a week, 300 words), but do not let that scare you, it's not as hard as you'd think. Everything you need is provided in the textbook(a fairly simple). Take the minimester.

Professor Mack is a great professor. He was so helpful. He was always available when help was needed and he always gave great feedback on how to improve your grades. He wasn't a tough grader and was completely understanding and somewhat flexible. Although the work load was a bit much, he was always encouraging so it was bearable.

Assignments were 2 chapters every other week + quizzes, crash course videos, discussion prompt due every other week. Discussion prompts had word counts of 150-300 words. Extra credit if you submit study guides.

This professor is very organized and caring. His class has a lot of reading but his grading standards are reasonable and he provides feedback on every assignment. I would 100% recommend taking his class if given the opportunity.

Great teacher, but a lot of work. This semester we had two very long study guides (one for each chapter studied) every week and discussion/exams every 3 weeks. He is very approachable and great at communicating. Also, he gave extra credit for attending tutoring sessions, that was great.

Professor Mack is great. His class is clearly laid out in the syllabus, no surprises. He's really interactive, commenting on posts, responding to emails, giving feedback on homework assignments. He does explanation videos for lectures and assignments where his cat makes appearances. The videos are incredibly helpful. I took another course with him.

Best online professor I've taken! He posts weekly videos explaining the directions, giving feedback, and a general review. We had one assignment each week and that was all! The assignments were either worksheets or discussion posts that correlated to the assigned readings/videos for the week. He is passionate and knowledgeable, I'd recommend!

Professor Mack makes history engaging. His class has a fair workload, with an online textbook and helpful resources like Unstuckstudy for efficient prep. Definitely worth taking.

HIST 1111-2 Discussion(Grades though), Multimedia project(Grades okay, as long as you put the work and do the right MLA format) ,3 tests worth 50 points each(Easy) ,Extra credit worth 10 points. Professor is good even if you did bad on Multimedia project and Discussion you can still end up with A, make sure do all work on time to get extra points.

I took his class online, he's a great professor overall. Discussions every week, tests/projects due every two weeks, but limited extra credit. He's a relatively easy grader, just make sure to do the work and follow instructions and the class is easy.

His grading is so confusing. Discussions every week which you need the textbook for in text citations, 2 responses due by Sunday. The responses have prompts. Five projects on the last 5 weeks. He only grades 4 out of the 5. Two papers. His feedback was always confusing, there was always a “but” to everything. I wouldn't say it's a hard class.

Easy A, just do your work and discussion posts, and you're Gucci
