Great teacher!I made a B...of course I had to study..this IS college, but he totally takes the time to explain anything you don't understand and he really knows his stuff, and if he doesn't, he'll find the answer!! Take him!

Matula is a GREAT professor. Explains the material very well without making the class boring. Take him, you won't regret it.

Prof. Matula really knows his stuff. Even if there is something that he cant answer, he'll research it and find it out for you! He's younger than most professor's so he really relates to college students! If you want to pass..take him!!!!

Matula is a really good teacher. He makes class interesting. Lab is amazing with this man. Make sure to take his lecture along with lab, if you take lecture with someone else you will regret it.

He keeps practice tests online that are almost word for word on the real tests. Lab is very easy just remember to study at least 20 minutes on memorizing what he tells you. Very helpful on WebCT and keeps all notes, pictures, graphs, and practice tests online for tests and quizzes. EASY AND FUN CLASS!

He is a good teacher but extremly HARD! I study my butt off and got a C. He knows his stuff and he is good at it but his test are a little tricky. I hated his lab test- they were all fill in the blank with huge science words. (and you have to spell the answer right)

He really knows the subject and is cool. You will have to study to get good grades and make sure you study his practice tests, generally some questions come off of them.

Matula is an awesome teacher! I have never been good at science but I managed to pull an A+ in his class. It is a hard class, but he teaches well and puts everything you need to know on WebCT. STUDY A LOT and you will do fine. GREAT teacher!

Great teacher! He teaches you alot and it is the stuff that actually sticks with you. I couldn't not handle the pig dissection though. I ended up dropping it.

He was a great teacher. I had fun, laughed, and learned alot considering Anatomy and Physiology 1 is a tough course in itself. It's really mindwrecking when you put it all together in 5 week mini. He used his awesome correlations to make sense of it all and have it all make sense to me.

Teaches the class as if teaching high schoolers. The class is easy if you pay attention and attend class. Nice guy, but kind of immature. Make sure to study second test from diagrams in the book, test one is straight from practice test. GIVES EXTRA CREDIT!!! Praticals are easy as long as you study slides online. DOES NOT TEACH BIOLOGY 2!!!

Mr.Matula would've been an excellent teacher had he stuck completely to teaching and not cussing.I enjoyed how he made the class interesting,but I didn't approve of his frequent cussing.Other than that,he's good at what he does and knows how to gain the attention of the class.

Mr. Matula was awesome teacher.. he was fun, helpful and knows how to keep his class awake. I wish he would become the next Dr. Wheeler, so that everyone can understand him. He is a smart individual and cares alot about biology in general. He really listens to his students.. His test are strictly on notes and he is helpful if you don't understand.

Hard doesn't care to explain the test.... avoid this instructor.

He is a very interesting teacher and makes the students eager to participate, i just had him for lab so i not sure how is lecture test are but as long as you study for your labs you will do fine, he is very willing to help you and is a really nice person!:)

Good teacher, gets agravated at stupidity. This is college, you do have to study, but he makes class interesting. Micro could be a bit more clear, instead he goes back to A&P If you dont mind the language, he cuses alot...Study take notes, you will pass

I took AP 1 lecture and AP 2 lab from Mr. Matula. I enjoyed each class. I learned a lot. The 3rd lecture test is very tricky. I enjoyed the lab class the most. Mr. Matula was very helpful and he made both courses fun.

GREAT TEACHER! so funny. really does get mad at stupidity. very sarcastic. but easy if you go to class and study for the tests. only opened the book to do the reviews and i got a B. lab class is the same but REALLY study, its ALOT of information for the praticals. weekly tests are easy and help you learn the material. i recommend him!!!!

Smart feller! KNows his stuff. Has great ways to make you understand the material. If not, go ask him in his office. If you work hard, he'll help you. Don't show up stupid, act stupid or sleep in class. You better study and be able to THINK in his classes. Wish my other profs were as much fun. We're all adults in college so cussing is perfectly OK!

Mr. Matula is a great professor. He jokes around a lot but takes his job seriously- he won't just pass you, you MUST come to class, take good notes and STUDY. AP1 is not a joke, the class is really hard and about half the people in my class dropped out. I am a good, dedicated student that studies hard and I barely made an A

Mr. Matula presents material so that it is easy to understand. He has a genuine desire for students to succeed.

Very nice professor. Genuinly cares about his students. Pay attention and dont be absent because what he tells you is all that you need to know. no extra reading in really necessary. Overall very nice and approachable. I would recommend him.

took Matula for AP 2 over 5 weeks...attend class, pay attention, take notes, study what he tells you, and you will do good. he is a great instructor and a truly sincere individual. he's always willing to help you and breaks the material down to where it is hard NOT to understand it.

Prof. Matula is a great teacher and a nice person! I would clearly recommend him to any one needing to take anatomy, he really explains difficult topics and reviews well for the test.

I hated Matual in A&P I, but by mid-A&P II I learned to love him. VERY hard. VERY interesting. VERY funny. Never bored for a second. Lecture tests are demanding. Questions require that you understand it well enough to figure it out by going thru a back door. NOT an easy 'A' - or even an easy 'B.' I learned more than I thot possible. Matula RULES!

He makes the class very interesting and explains everything in ways you can easily understand.

Really fun teacher! he explains things well and in a sensible manner. He passes around an attendance sheet but I wouldn't miss a lecture because you learn so much!! The textbook is good to follow but his notes are very clear and reflect the exams well. His classes are never boring and seems to genuinely like when students ask questions.

Happy I took all 3 of my Science classes with him.. He makes class fun. Never a dull momment in his class. Always there when you need him.. Listen and take lots of notes.. He will use it on his test.. Take him..you will NOT be disapointed...

Material is difficult. But take notes, and print his notes that he gives you on black board. I did the reviews at the end of each chapter and it helped alot of the tests.

I typically make As and made a B in this class, was a little disappointed, but I learned SO much! He is an awesome teacher. Make sure you understand the notes and lecture classes are "magic time" and where your test material comes from. Study hard for the practicals from Blackboard! Make sure you go to the cadaver lab with him, not to be missed

He is so funny and not bad to look at either! He teaches with a passion!

Mr. Matula is awesome. Took him for A&P 1 lecture and A&P 2 lab. He is extremely helpful, all you have to do is ask if you don't understand something. He will keep explaining it to you until you get it. Take LOTS of notes and I would also get a recorder for the class.

His teaching theory and techniques are what make this professor popular amoung students seeking science credits. Matula's class is difficult, but worth it.

Awesome prof! Took him for a&p II and micro. Not an easy A but he tells you exactly what to study for on the test. Got A's and B's. Tests have trick questions but you have to actually LEARN the material. You cant get by memorizing his reviews. He breaks everything down so its easy to make sense. Go to his learning lab if your lost he will help!

This guy loves his job and loves to teach. Makes learning a whole new world of fun. Without a doubt the best instructor I have ever had and that is saying a lot. I've been to many different school and universities. I'd take him again just for fun. Not an easy A but he'll teach you all you need to know to pass the test while making you laugh.

I LOVE Matula! I took him about a year ago. He's hard, but worth it. He loves his job and is absolutely amazing at it. I also laughed a lot. Take notes! Don't miss! Study hard! and you'll do just fine. I wish he would teach all my classes. He's wonderful.

He's a wonderful teacher. He clearly loves his job and it shows with his students. If you take him, you need to study and never miss a class! He works fast to get through all the material so there's extra studying time for the practicals. He is very funny and really cares about his students. Take him no matter what time the class is.

I came back to this school just to take Matula, when I needed more science courses for my degree. I highly recommend him, he is extremely nice and works with his students. He is hands down one of the best instructors I have ever had. I love his stories. He is funny and a good guy in general. Take him if you have the chance.

He is really entertaining. His test are easy if you study all the notes off the board.He is always willing to answer any questions asked, TAKE ADVANTAGE OF THAT.

Great teacher but not the easiest class, u must attend lecture to get all notes for the test. Test are very tricky and must study for the test. I studied very hard for the test and barely managed to pass them with Cs and Bs. Lab is very fun with Mr Matula and very hands on and is much easier than lecture. Lab practicals are rough but just study

Best teacher I have ever had. The class is hard, but he does a great job at making the material as simple to understand as he possibly can. Learned so much in his class. One of the few teachers who can make learning enjoyable.

I love the way he teaches! He is super funny so it makes it pretty easy to remember things. You can text or call him with any questions you have and he will get back to you. If you need help all you have to do is ask and he will be there for you. It is a tough class but he makes it fun and interesting.

The best professor I have ever had. You will not leave his class without laughing. Excellent at making you understand the material. Makes sure you are 100% prepared for exams. You can tell he enjoys teaching and has a passion for this class. Wish I had him as a professor for more classes.

Yes, he is a good professor and definitely made the class interesting, but I found his exams extremely tricky. I loved his lectures and never looked at my watch, but yet I felt overwhelmed when it came time to study and no matter what I studied, there were always questions on the exam that I didn't remember hearing in lecture. I don't know, I just didn't find him as easy as everyone else. He is definitely an interactive professor and made the class fun.

Matula is just about my favorite teacher ever. It is a hard class, but he is so funny. Take all the notes. Record ALL the lectures. Study, study, study. He was always willing to re-explain anything i didn't understand. He took phone calls, meetings, and did tutoring. If he knows you are trying, he will always help you.

Mr. Matula is my favorite professor for science classes. His lectures are very clear and what goes on the board is EXACTLY what's on the tests. However, the tests are still pretty tough. The goal is to fully understand and explain main concepts, not just memorize stuff. He's always willing to help you too, so don't hesitate to ask him.

When I asked him why people say his tests are tricky , his answer was: "Because they memorize flashcards."He's right! His tests are 100% from his notes, but you'll have to fully understand the material in order to avoid to second guessing yourself. It's not hard, but you have to take your time to study! If you don't dedicate, you'll not get an A.

Just had him for Micro. He is an awesome teacher! If you work hard, you will make an A. Micro is a lot of chemistry. I would have a basic biology or chemistry knowledge before take Micro. TAKE MATULA!!

Provides lecture outlines and test reviews that help with test. He seems sarcastic at times, but thats probably just his humor. Hes always willing to help via text or email or in his office for studying. Read your test chapters after lecture, it helps with tests! An A is not impossible. Really recommend for lab. Hes crystal clear in lab..

Matula makes anatomy fun. Be prepared to draw pictures and charts (arrows showing cycles) in your notebook. Read through your book after lecture, something mentioned in passing during class may show up on the test.

You have to understand the material to pass his tests. You have to memorize the notes, as if you were taking an essay exam, and read the book, however, he tests you on everything that is covered in the review. If he says it's not on the test, it's not going to be on there! Best teacher I have ever had!

Had Mr. Matula for AP1 Lab, made drinking from a fire house pretty enjoyable. Honestly this is the one class that goes by to fast. Willing to go the extra mile if you are and help you out. Put forth the effort and study he will know. Not a easy class but can be if you do apply yourself.

I am currently taking Mr. Matula for micro I have an A in the class and our final in on Monday. With that being said I am taking the 5 week class . It's difficult material to start with but Mr Matula makes it easy to understand. If you don't he will be there to explain until you do! Best professor ever! I wish I had taken anatomy with him!

Excellent teacher, very fair, didn't need the text book and still passed with an A. You still need to study because it is a lot of material but i took him for a 5 week summer course and enjoyed every second of it.

I love prof matula. If possible, take all bio courses you can with him. He knows what he is doing and will never grade unfairly. His test are hard but if you pay attention and study your notes like you should, you will be just fine. He is hilarious and always tries to keep he class awake and listening- a real gem.

Tells you what to expect day 1, keep up with him and you will pass the class. I only had him for lab for Anatomy and Physiology but he made it a breeze. Its difficult in that you really have to fight your own brain to memorize everything and thats not his fault.

He's the best teacher I have had in a long time. very understanding and cares about each and every one of his students. although i am happy about he new position as dean i'm sad that he wont be teaching anymore

So far in my experience of professors at ACC, Matula shines as one of the best professors. A man of knowledge, respect, and humor. You will never find yourself dozing off as he is very efficient at teaching and most importantly keeping your attention. My words fall short of my experience in this course. I HIGHLY recommend to anyone.

I would rate Professor Matula as one of my top three favorite teachers. He actually teaches the material and doesn't just read off power points that are provided by the publisher of the text book. He keeps his lectures entertaining and to the point. I took him for A&P 2 and Microbiology and I am taking him again for Nutrition this semester.

Loved taking Professor Matula for A&P 2 lecture. Wish I was able to get him for lab. He is very enthusiastic about teaching, open to questions, genuinely cares about his students. You can always count on him. He even gives out his personal cell phone number on the first day of class, and tells you to use it for any questions. Mr. Matula rocks!

Professor Matula is an awesome professor. He well prepares students for tests and has a way of simplifying information that can be overwhelming and confusing. He is a fun teacher and creates a very relaxed environment in which to learn in while ensuring we learn all thats necessary to succeed.

For A&P one, lab with Matula was awesome! I do not know about his lecture class though. He was extremely helpful with all questions. Sometimes he didnt show up to class unannounced, but it was only a few times. Hes very considerate and caring for his students when he is having a good day; sometimes he could be a little rude.

Professor Matula is by far one of the best professors I have had. He made class fun and interesting. You will definitely get a lot of hands on experience in his class. Quizzes were easy, he tells you exactly what will be on the quiz and what to study. HE IS ALWAYS WILLING TO HELP YOU JUST HAVE TO ASK!!! Highly recommend taking him!
