He is a good prof, and genuinely cares about his job and the students. He is a very close-minded liberal, and likes to argue a bit, but it's fun. He sees conservatives as almost a "curiosity" and he wants to understand them. You will learn a lot from him. I think he is the dept. head now, as well.

Very smart and has a good sense of humor. If you are a conservative, he will let you talk, but be prepared for him to call you out if front of class and defend your faith/political values in tough situations. He has a very cynical attitude about life and it shows. The exams cover a rediculous amount of material and are harder then they need to be.

So he wrote the book for this course so you can't tell him he's wrong about anything in this book because he wrote it even though some things in the book are debatable and wrong. If you plan to pass in this class don't debate the book, try to talk only if you have something intelligent to say and if you have a question or write an email out of luck

Every class is a powerpoint lecture (which makes up the exams). He expects prior knowledge of international affairs, even though this is a 100-level course. He once said, his 200-level course is more of a 100-level; this is vice versa. This course requires more than what a 400-level course requires. Check the syllabus ahead of time.

One of my favorite professors at IUPUI, which is why I have taken four courses with him! Knows his subject, and great at conveying information and engaging students. The students who like him best are the ones who care about learning. Dr McCormick is available, organized, helpful, and responsive, and sets realistic standards and expectations.

Dr. McCormick is highly distinguished and well-respected professor. His expertise in the field is truly remarkable and well-evident. His quizzes are probably the hardest thing, the paper and 2 exams are doable. Clear guide for exams & you should have pre-written answers and will be given fraction of time to upload your answers on the exam day.

Professor Mccormick is a very knowlegeable and intelligent individual, his humor is quite unique, so it might be difficult to get at first, that being said, he is a wordly man, and extremely well articulated in the field of Political Science. He is a tough grader, so skip class and you won't pass.

I have struggled in this class all semester. He will be a harsh grader if you do not actively participate every day in class. He does not explain in depth what he is looking for with his term papers or written exam terms but then grades them very harshly.
