Mr. Min is OK if you dig juvenile humor.

If you don't attend the class, you don't understand with his online lectures. Attend the class and take notes, you won't miss A's. He explained very well and is very friendly though you finished his classes.

Dr. Min is a perfect professor ever. He believes in success and he encourages students to reach their goals. Don't miss his classes. I will take more classes with him someday.

Here is the deal: attend the class, ask questions, read his notes, do some study groups= A. His tests are easy!

Great teacher If you come to class. He always reviews before the test and as long as you take notes your straight. The main thing in his class is you have to understand the concepts. If you get that its an easy A.

The course was very boring, but this teacher made it fun and interesting. I enjoyed his lectures. And if you understand his lectures, you can do good in all of his exams. There are only two exams (mid-term & final) in both of these courses. He is the best teacher for eco 201 & 202.

John Min is a very entertaining teacher. He would not only make you understand the material, but would make you smile or laugh at the same time. He gave real-life examples for whatever the topic was, and told you exactly what you needed to know for the test.

Skip the book. GO TO CLASS. Pay attention, it's easy to be engaged in his lectures. He's very entertaining and crystal clear. Study his notes from his website. It's a ridiculously easy class if you put any effort in. I only pray I am prepared for future coursework. We'll see.

Dr. Min is one of the outstanding professors in NOVA.He encourage his students to do well not only in his class but also in their life. His examples and lectures are interesting and expose his students to the real and challenging world.in my opinion, he is one of a kind.

Great teacher. Teaches the concepts in ways that they are easy to understand. The only problem is that because he makes the concepts easy to understand he doesn't show the math for what he does.

Prof. Min is a good teacher,but his classes are hard.Two exams are not enough to have your grade because his exams are from topics from nowadays and you have to write in them what you learned from the chapters you've learned! He is an O.K. teacher.I only liked his jokes in class.

I'm a slacker and I got an A, just read over his lecture notes til you feel you understand them. his class is so interesting and he's got real life current examples. I learned more in this class than I did when I took micro at my university, where I struggled to get a C.

Great teacher. I took both classes at the same time in the summer and got an A in both. He will keep you interested and make you laugh. He uses funny stories to help you remember concepts.

You may not learn perfect textbook eco from him but you will learn what the heck is going on in the world. You listen to him then read the text and it will make sense. I did no work in that class except attend his lectures and I got a B. His essay test are awesome. No rote memorization needed. Comprehension he teaches, eco you will learn.

International econ class was better than I expected. No text used but you have many reading assignments... The tests were take home but they took days to complete. I learned alot!!

J.Min is a great! He is incredibly smart & pretty funny. Class was in the comp lab so the lecture notes were online so no textbook! It was pretty easy to follow and you could check email when it was slow.Notes helped a lot for econ classes @GMU.He missed a few classes for lecture @JP Morgan and other firms.I def recommend J.Min for Econ courses.

I enjoyed Dr. Min's class, & felt I gained a solid understanding of Econ. Summer restricts time, which limits the possibility for depth, but outside reading and research were provided. Dr. Min is a smart & interested in the world. I liked class organization, using a library textbook, & his humour. You can tell he wants his students to do flourish.

Exams are usually group take homes, but they were pages long and it took us forver to finish them. gives you 2 papers to write.. but they werent easy. you should def take him if ur majoring in business.. gives good info.. really learned alot!!

John Min is onoe of the best professors at NOVA. His method of teaching puts students at ease which allows them to concentrate on the work at hand. His assignments are difficult, but he allows the class to work in groups. He will hand out practice tests and allow the class to work in groups as well. Take his class if you want to LEARN.

The exams were very difficult but fair. I studied so much but did not get the grade that I wanted. I plan to take his ECO202 in the spring semester. Hope I will do better. He is good but tough!!!

He knows what he's teaching and is very entertaining. However, his tests are tough. You gotta know your stuff because they are not multiple choices. I did not get the grade I wanted to, so now I am sad.

Real world commentary. Humor. This is a professor who not only knows his stuff, but really knows how to teach. If you need Macroeconomics, or even just a Soc Sci credit, I strongly advise taking this class.

Professor Min is the very best. I studied very hard and also learned very much. As he says, "There is no free lunch." I took advantage of his tutors (which he paid for out of his own pocket) and got "A". I feel that I am prepared for UVA.

Oooh what to say about this funny funny little man. He's such a dedicated teacher. Always looked forward to the class because I knew I would learn the material and have fun doing it. He always incorporates real world examples/current issues into his lectures so you get an understanding of the bigger world. Miss that a great deal with the new prof.

Best professor hands down.Makes economics fun and easy to understand Sure his exams are hard but he prepares you for UNIVERSITY level economics. The people who are complaining got bad grades because they either didn't study enough, missed to many classes, or weren't the sharpest tools in the shed. If you really want to learn economics take Dr. Min.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER. You will actually LEARN. He's very funny but his class is hard. Exams are not multiple choice. Exams are short essay. Again, it is hard but you will learn your stuff if you take him.

Wow! The final exam was the most difficult I have taken - ever!! I earned B in my course, but I learned so much. If you want to learn eco than take him. If you are looking for an easy grade to transfer, avoid him at all cost. He is the very BEST.

HE IS THE BEST - IF YOU WANT TO LEARN SOMETHING ABOUT ECONOMIC!! There is no free lunch with Min. He is honest about the grade (not always good). However, he inspires you to do more... Plan to take another class with him.

Took an online (hybrid) class so this review may not apply to others. The course was very intense. We had to read every chapter (18) in 2 months with an online quiz for each (open book), a group project & 3 tests (2 in test centers). All was STRAIGHT from the book but he was cool about extensions (I delayed quizes many times). Online not advised.

What can I say.... I learned much from the class. It was hard but interesting. The teacher was great. He really cared what his students did. He lend his books and paid for tutors out of his pocket to help us pass his grade. I recommend the teacher - if you want to learn something

EXCELLENT PROFESSOR!!! No need for required book; he provides material. Do come to class, take notes, and study!!! It looks easy, but you have to do your part. Lots of help, sample tests, review sessions. He is so much fun and easy to understand. Takes interest in helping everybody. Take his class; I recommend him whole heartly!!!!

Very interesting professor

this professor is nice. not just because he is good teacher, but also because he is approachable. he supports every single student in a way they feel comfortable about the material. this professor has a quick reply time. he is very well educated. his communication skill is all the way up there. he takes times to understand the problem of students.

Great teacher! Read the chapter/notes that he posted on the BB and you will understand the topics, but if you will not read, then the professor will help you to understand like 2*2 equals 4. Prof. Min has a great personality and very interesting teacher. Take his class and you will not regret.

Best Teacher I had in many years! He responded to my emails within 24 hours and really cared about how I was doing in his class. I got C but without Prof Min's help, I would have failed. He gave me 3rd and 4th opportunities to catch up on my missing works. Do take his ELI class - if you are busy. He will work with you.

Dr. Min teaches material that is inevitably dry and technical, but he makes sure to let students know he's there to assist them if they need it. He's a generous grader and you should have no trouble getting an A in his course if you do the course work and study the practice exams he gives. The tests are reasonable and relevant to the coursework.

Dr. Min was very informative and always there to assist students. He will even meet you on campus if you're having issues learning the material. He was clear about assignments and deadlines and is a very generous grader. He always responded to emails within a day. Very happy I took ECO201 with him!

He was the greatest professor I've ever encountered. He always answered my emails within a day, sometimes a few minutes! If I was having trouble with the material, he was always available for help. I wish I would have taken his course in person rather than online, I learn better in the classroom. Either way, he is excellent.

Just as almost everyone else has said, Prof Min gives clear instruction, is very helpful and communicates effectively. He's the best online prof I've come across. Just do the work and take the practice quizzes per his instruction and you'll get an A!

Professor Min is great I took his online course and a in class. Try tang king him in class you will learn so much. Book is required online. The classes at campus he provides all the material. I liked his class so much I decided to major in Econ. He is funny and he explain all the material in a way that you will undestand even the hardest concept.

Professor Min is very responsive and is willing to help and clarify. I took him for both ECO 201 and 202. The courses are structured the same. Homework is through Aplia. There is a group project that isn't so bad but will help your grade a whole lot. 3 exams. 2 proctored and 1 through Aplia.

He's happy to help anytime he can, and he inspired my friend to proceed in the ECO field. Even though I got a B, he helped me with a recommendation letter, which successfully got me into the University of Maryland!!

I took 8 week fall online course with Prof. Min. He is clear about subjects and assignments. Tests are little difficult, but, if prepared it is easy. I encourage students to take online classes, it is for students pace.

Professor Min class amazing. The lecture are great and he is super funny but will definitely not prepare you for the exams that are really though compare to what he is teaching. The exams are set up in a way that the first one is worth 10 points, the second, 20, 30 for the group paper and the final is 40 POINTS. Fail the final, fail the class.

The exam was so tough.... but I learned much. I studied two weeks for the final. Not sure if did well. But, I will take him again.

Take him for ECO 201 and 202 if you want a good grade. Hes very simple and course is very self-explanatory. Took him for ECO 202 and received a B for the course.

Economic is not an easy subject, but professor John Min makes it really easy. He uses everyday life subjects to make an example of what he teaches or even he uses his life ( himself, his family) to create interesting stories. Thus, he makes Economic more down-to-earth and more engaging. He is the one makes me want to major in economics.

TAKE JOHN MIN! His lectures will keep you focused and entertained until the end of class. I recommend him highly!! He teaches you a lot on real life situations. Optional of working with a group or alone. He stopped taking attendance after the third class. Very chill. But do your work if you want a good grade, and he accepts late assignments!

professor Min is really an interesting professor and he makes economics so easy and understandable. however, the tests are heavy and he takes points off on few things. other than that, I learned a lot from him.

I took his hybrid class (50% online/50% in class) so it was very fast paced; However, Professor Min made each lecture count. He uses his own lectures (much better than the book) so book is not really necessary. Two fairly exams (one take home) and a few questions due every 3-4 chapters. Highly recommend his class. Great teacher!

Took his 8 week online course. Weekly homework, take-home final, one group report, 2-3 discussion boards on Blackboard, and 2 exams at the testing center (the quizzes he has on Blackboard are literally the questions on the exams; just make sure you take each chapter quiz on Blackboard more than once b/c it has different questions each time!).

Professor Min explains Economics in a really good way and makes it interesting; however, you need to attend all his classes and listen to his lecture because they are the only thing that will help for the tests which are kinda complicated

I took ECO 202 online over the summer. Do the practice quizzes for each chapter before each test multiple times and you will get an A. Textbook is really helpful and you won't pass without reading it. Mindtap homework is a little time consuming so don't wait till the last minute. The class is easy but you have to put some work into it!

I like the class lectures but the course is very demanding. As others said, he makes you work hard for your grade. But, I am also learning alot for the first time at the school. Don't miss any lectures. They are important.

Hard 8-wk but manageable compared to other online 8-wks

It is an easy class, there is not a lot of homework, but if you pay attention you will learn a lot of economic topics.

Good lectures made the course fun to attend even via Zoom. One of the best lecturers at the college. Do your work. You will be ok.

He is a nice professor during Covid. He has weekly assignments and 3 quizzes. I took this on zoom he was sympathetic. The only problem is the lectures are sometimes hard to understand with no explanation. Also, his notes can get confusing so you better know the material. Overall, good professor I would take him if you find him on the list.

He was a very nice professor, and was always ready to help. The content is difficult but it is doable. Many discussions and lots of reading if you actually want to understand. Exams had the same questions as the quizzes most of the time. Highly recommend his class.

Prof Min is great. I took his 8wk MacroEcon class, and though it wasn't his material, nor did he lecture, he was accessible and gave me his lecture notes for his regular classes. He's very engaged on the discussion boards. I found the math portions difficult without instruction, but the proctored exams didn't focus on them too much.

The lectures were very well organized and helpful with the quizzes and the final exam. John tries to scare you in the beginning. But his class is not that hard. You do need to come to class each week and put in your work.

Enjoyed Min's class last semester. I thought about taking his Micro but I had to take a stat class. I miss his classes. Do take him. You learn much.

I appreciated that my professor prepared for each lecture. Professor Min always tried to link what is happening in real life and news to our lecture topic and discussions. His jokes are somewhat dated. (Not his fault.) But you can tell he cares very much for the class.

Prof. Min is excellent. His lectures are fun and easy to follow, but if something is confusing he will reframe it until you understand. Tests are fair and he prepares you well with study guides the class prior to exam. Group work is mandatory and you have to pick your group on the first day (literally on syllabus day lol). He is an amazing professor! His class is heavily group work based so it is important to communicate with your chosen group. There was 3 quizzes along with the final, one of the quizzes was a take home. He discusses what is on each quiz. Overall I really enjoyed his class and would definitely take him again.

He's a good professor but there is only 6 assignments the whole semester including the final exam. 40% of the class is based on group work and 60% is two quizes and the final exam. His exams are pretty easy and he's a funny lecturer but he left most of the assignments for the last two weeks of the semester.

When it comes to group work don't be afraid to change groups of people aren't doing their share. Professor Min don't use a text book so you have to as he say “peel back the layers” meaning dig deep for understanding. This professor is great! He doesn't do annoying PowerPoint lectures that put you to sleep, the class is more like stand up comedy on economics. Its funny and keeps you engaged. All assignments are posted on his website and recommended for group but not required to be done in groups. If you do the assignments/understand them you will pass the class.
