i love this professor, he made this class interesting and knows what he's talking about. if you really want to learn something then you will enjoy his class, but if you don't like to study, then don't thnk you'll pass his class. He's enthusiastic about what he teaches.

He's awesome..this teacher is a must take...he makes your life easier believe me...i got an "A" as a final grade..2 essays with 3 exams but his exams are awesome..i tried another teacher before and i dropped the same class..just attend the class and you will get the "A".
Best teacher ever!!!i dropped this class with another teacher before i took Dr.Moretta.Dr. Moretta is the best of the best,he's the chairman of the department and he makes your life easy,he helps you to pass, he tells you from the beginning i want you all to pass. Great teacher..Love you Dr. Moretta.
I wish there was a way to clone this guy. I wish there was a mold and an oven that made copies of him and HCC hired all of them to teach all the different subjects. Just an amazing professor. Nice, approachable, talented as a professor and a writer. He is well versed in the topics we covered because he wrote the book being used for instruction.
I love this instructor. AWESOME. He makes history come alive.
Never take this professor, He is careless. Rarely responds emails. He is very confusing and doesn,t gives outline. Do not expect anything from him.
I took him for 1301 and 1302 during summer, he goes easy on you. All my grades were in the 90's. He is pretty laid back, low stress class. I got an A's in both classes, take him. He responded to my emails just fine, not sure what the other reviewer is complaining about :)
Dr moretta is the greatest understanding nicest sweetest teacher ever he is a very good man and he always is willing to help you pass his class his tests are great and he works with you if you need more help he great trust me guys if you want a nice helpful teacher he is the one you wont regret it just try your best N read his books he wrote them
AMAZING PROFESSOR!! I wishd he taught every subject! Clear, interesting, fun, engaging lectures. 3 mltchoice test including final, 2 papers I believe. Book not crucial to have. Wants you to pass! Helpful. Responds to emails great. Head of dept. TAKE HIM!!! You will not regret it. I absoultely hate history & loved his class 3
BEST PROFESSOR EVER!!!!!!!!!!!! TAKE HIM, YOU WONT REGRET IT :)) MAKES HISTORY COME TO LIFE. ALOT ALOT OF READING BUT HE WORKS WITH YOU AS LONG AS YOU PUT FORTH EFFORT! WANTS YOU TO PASS, 3 TEST, 2-3 PAPERS. ATTENDENCE IS MUST. UNDERSTANDING. RESPONDS TO EMAILS. HELPFUL. JUST TAKE HIM ALREADY!
Not easy at all 100 questions test The extra credits don't count on your total grade If you do not care bout your grades take this teacher He is a tough grader makes you buy his book that is hard to find makes you do three books analysis in a short period of time He opens his tests three days only so if you work on the weekend find another class
AMAZING PROFESSOR!!! Professor Moretta is a very charming, very delightful teacher who makes a subject like History exciting! He does a great job at engaging the classroom and will write keywords on the board during his lecture. 3 test multiple choice test, 2-3 papers. Not everything in the test are covered in lectures so be ready to read :)
although he is a nice and funny professor, his test are based upon his lectures and the book. he gives no reviews so you basically have to write every single word that comes out of his mouth and even doing that there are still questions he did not cover. be prepared to read the textbooks. and he is a tough grader for his essays
I really truly enjoyed his class this semester. He is so kind, attentive & really wants the students to do well. He doesn't do multiple choice test make ups but he gives them for the books we read. Lectures are v. Informative and you have to take good notes to pass. If that's impossible, find a studybudy. I will for sure be taking his class again.
He's the best history professor. 3 tests and 2 essays. His test is everything he talked about in class. He explains what's important for him, and what's important for him is important for students. Would definitely take him for HIST 1302
He is one of the funniest professor I have ever had. His lectures are interesting, and he knows his stuff. His test are straight out of the lecture and book, so just pay attention during class. He is also very helpful when answering question.
I took Mr. Moretta online for History 1301 and when I say this class was a breeze it was too easy. I HATE history, but I passed his class with an A. He has 2 test which are 100 questions each ( answers online) and one 4-5 page paper. The paper was kind of annoying, but just write what you think. I would recommend taking him during the summer online
Never take him. He is terrible. Even though you study very hard, it is really hard to even get a B. He does not care for students. You should buy expensive text books, too.
Professor Moretta's lectures are so engagingInstead of spewing facts from a Power Point, he illustrates history with anecdotes, humor and drama. Even though History 1302 took place at 7pm on Monday, rarely did I nod off or lose focus. Moretta is kind, but unabashedly liberal (if you're conservative, you may find him alienating). Great class.
Loved his lectures! He is hilarious and unapologetically a liberal. So if you're conservative and are considering taking him, heads up lol You will NEED both textbooks. He didn't cover everything in lectures that ended up on the test. If you're concerned about your grade keep communication with him open and he'll work with you.
I LOVE HIS CLASS BEST PROFESSOR EVER! I took his night class which it was from 7:30pm-9:30pm. I would go to his class right after work and I promise you that you would not get tired nor sleepy you wouldn't even realize that you're in class. He is amazing at getting everyone's attention. PLEASE TAKE HIM! You will love his class as much as I did!
He has profound knowledge and knows the best way to demonstrate it. Extremely funny teacher. But get ready to read if you want to pass the class.
Dr. Moretta's lectures were very interesting and informative throughout the spring semester. His energy and passion for U.S. history made you respect the time and effort he made to become an educator/professor. I'm glad I had the opportunity to meet such a remarkable person!
Dr. Moretta is great, i loved him. you must take notes and study to pass! his lectures are interesting and also he is pretty funny!
I love Dr Moretta. He has taught me so much about history, doesn't have you memorize dates, he teaches. he has passion for history is contageous. i m taking him for History 1302. I love his lectures, can't say enough about him.
There are 2 100-qt. exams and 1 5-8 pg essay which are 100pts each, hence the total grade is 300. No exam review. New textbook edition is recommended. The book assigned to us to read is so long and come with tiny font size which make it more difficult to read. I suggest getting the kindle version instead of a paperback copy.
took this professor online for hist 1302 there is only 3 assignments 2 test with 100 questions each and a book analysis he makes you buy his own book called the hippies you need to write a 5 page paper about the book. If you email him he answers kind of rude. if you do not read the book or write the paper you will fail. remember He Wrote the book.
You are required to buy his book (that he wrote) for a 5 page paper. You also need the other book because some of his tests have questions you need to write out. Responds fast. Read the hippie book, learn to use quizlet fast, and you'll be fine.
Took his online class and it was just 2 test and final. You HAVE to buy his book so you can write the essay. There's no weekly assignments due, just test. Doesn't respond to emails promptly.
Great professor! Makes learning history interesting. I am definitely taking him for History 1302
Took him online for 1302 for Fall. Has 2 exams 1 final with 100 questions each and 2 hours to take each. Must write a 5-8 page essay on his book that he wrote which are about Hippies. Can use google for your tests. Buy book on kindle it's cheaper. Didn't need to read the book, I just took parts from each chapter. No need to study. You'll be aight.
The best history professor i've ever had, 2 tests mainly focused on his lectures, the second test you have to read a book which is an easy read, just show up and take good notes and its an easy A. His final we had to read a book(which is very interesting). He makes the class really fun and i was always looking forward to be in his class.
Never take him. He is terrible. Even though you study very hard, it is really hard to even get a c. He does not care for students. You should buy expensive text books, too. you have to buy his book. i took him in class, he only gave us 2 test so that is what are grade reflected. 2 grades, i recieved a F.
Maybe he's better in person. Expectations not clear online. Minimal feedback. Seems to want you to write full scale essays for short answers on tests, without much time. As a result, he told the whole class that we were disappointing, which is not exactly encouraging for future tests. Must read the book he wrote and write 5 pages on it.
The class is super easy, only three tests, but that means if you mess up one, your whole average will also get messed up. The essay part of the exam, he does not gives feedbacks nor tell us what he expects beside "talk about it in depth." He might be nice in person like some other said, but he is a hard grader.
I have very conflicting feeling towards this class. During his online class we were required to take 3 tests one and 6-8 paper about the book "Hippies"(a book he wrote). For tests he's appeared to be a hard grader that would give little to no feedback. However the only reason I think passed is because he curved my final grade.
Take my advice: Do Not Take His Online Classes.
He didn't stick to his syllabus about his tests. 4 tests total. One of which is a book test over HIS book. Plus you have to read the textbook. He also was sarcastic when students ask him to go over the tests. He talks really fast so you have to have a computer to take notes to keep up with him. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU ARE NOT A HISTORY MAJOR!
Four tests. Tough grader. No good feedback. Did not set us up for success. No word about extra credit. Class average on test one was in the 60's.
This teacher is a hard grader. All these comments regarding his test is true. I love history and grades are in the 60s now. DO NOT TAKE ONLINE I REGRET IT! I just took the second test and it was true or false I think I failed. He barely gives feedback and want you to write essays on the test "in depth" fml smh if I pass this class I'm super lucky!
He went out of his way to help me complete one of my test when I reached out in a timely matter to let him know I was having problem with my internet. He wanted me to success. for that I am grateful.
I took History 1302 online and it was fairly easy. On the exams as long as you have 3- 5 paragraphs on the essay question and give your opinion, some facts and statistics you'll be fine. The book Hippies was an interesting read and it was by him as well.
I am so happy with how this class is going, Dr. Moretta is very nice and responsive not matter how many times I email him with questions. You can tell he cares, even for his online students. If you are needing a History credit, I highly recommend taking his course.
Take him if you are taking a lots classes & need more time to complete things/work or if you don't like to do a lot of work at once. 3 tests. multiple choice 2 essay questions. write essay questions like essay paper material(2 paragraphs) will help you on advice for tests. No assignments. & a final. no book needed. Easy class just write essay good
Dr. Moretta is a great professor. Although I took History 1302 online it was fairly easy. As long as on your essays they are 5 paragraphs, giving facts, statistics and your opinion you'll pass the exams. His book Hippies was an interesting read. The final is over the book, so as long as you read it you'll do fine .
Taking this course online was a plus for me. Not only did it help me mentally, but also helped me with my time management. Professor Moretta is a great professor who he will always stay in touch with the students and will be very clear in his instructions. He has a sense of humor and deserves much respect. I recommend this professor to anybody.
Only 3 exams and a final. First exam included 2 full length essays to be written in addition to multiple choice section. Expectations very unclear as far as detail on the essays, and as a result I nearly failed the first exam. Got better grades after that, but only 3 more grades meant I didn't have a chance to bring my grade up much. Disappointing.
Professor Moretta was amazing. His lectures were awesome, he doest just pulls things from his behind, the man has an PH.D. be prepared to take notes! tests are a breeze if you study your notes! go to class if you miss out on one of his lectures it'll be hard for you to catch up.
BAD TEACHER
Took Dr. Morettas 8wk class online spring 19. It was pretty straight forward as what needed to be done and gave good feedback after every test. If you apply yourself theres no reason you shouldnt get an A. I didnt apply myself the first couple weeks but overall received a B. Also Provides flash cards and other material needed to pass his class.
Professor Moretta is an absolutely amazing teacher who CARES! He is passionate about his work and gives real facts! I loved his class! There is a lot of reading but its simple as long as you read and pay attention during his entertaining lectures! I would take his class 100 times! 3 test and no writing assignments!!!
I took this online so Good thing is the test always have 2 parts 1st is question has answer online Super Easy. Bad thing is 2nd about essay you have to write it in 2 Hours it is just short essay, he grades is fine, not focus on grammar , just give hime your opinion . Make sure your English good. Up to you 2 Hours For essay so take a choose
Dr. moretta is wonderful! He appreciates you as a student & genuinely cares for your success! I wish all my Professors were as engaged and caring as he was! I am so grateful for him & I learned so much!!
Took his online class, good teacher everything was very clear online. Must read textbook and purchase the book he wrote! 3 Exams including a small essay make sure you read textbook and final test are questions from the book he wrote! Responds to his email really quick, I would take him again however, read a little more to get a better grade!
I took Dr. Moretta for both HIST 1301 and HIST 1302. He is an amazing and fun teacher! He uses his own books for textbooks. His lectures are engaging, amazing and filled with info that will help on tests and essays, so pay attention and take notes! He is also very helpful and cares about your success, so don't be afraid to ask him for help as well!
The worst. Took this professor's online 5 week summer course and truly was upset from the 1st day of class. Purchased books he later mentioned we did not need and agreed was an error on his part. Then we have not work at all. Literally just 2 exams, that are timed & expects us to write 2 essays in each exam not knowing what they will be about.
No assignments just exams. He wants you to give lengthy answers to the essay questions. He provides a hint of the questions before the test. This allows you to get a headstart and ideas of your writing. I reccomend Professor Moretta
I thought he was nice, but he was kind of mean to me, he called me foolish for trying to get an A.
I took John because he had great reviews. However, I do not agree with them at all. He made us purchase his books and then told us that we would only need one of them so I'm now stuck with an online book I will never read; awful feedback, if you even get any; all the answers for his tests are online, but he grades the essay roughly. beware.
Best professor I ever had! Love His lectures and way to teach. His clases are very interesting.
he's a good professor. Four exams, all include long essays. Read your notes and study and youll do fine on the first three. Fourth test is a final on his book which you must read because he makes sure the answers aren't online. only issues is that when he does respond to your emails he can be rude at times and his book is extremely boring.
Took dr moretta online for both hist 1301 & 1302. Whole course consist of 4 exams that's it. No cushion for a slack off . Exams are 50% multiple choice 50% essay ( which he gives a hint of what it'll be about prior to exam opening) so he does expect a solid essay. Multiple choice is on Google , but he expects critical thinking on essays. Great prof
Prof. Moretta made History such a pleasurable experience. This course has been the most enlightening college undertaking I have endeavored to study. It gave me the historical perspective and needed insight to express my personal feelings about the subjects indicated on the three essays written. Excellent professor.
Take Dr. Moretta, he is an outstanding professor! He makes sure not to bog students down with tedious assignments because he understands most are not majoring in History. However, the work given is significant and you will definitely learn something! Only 4 tests but make sure you read and understand the concepts because there will be short essays.
Loved this professor! He truly cares about his students and is very encouraging. There is a lot of reading (it is History, after all), but the workload is fair. He gives you plenty of time to complete assignments, and the required essays as part of the tests are no problem to do because he gives you a head-start on them with hints.
Professor moretta isn't specific about what he wants in an essay came off ass rude . Doesn't give reviews. Basically your paying to learn on your own.
Take this class! You would be crazy not to! He's amazing. He really knows what he's teaching. Go to class and TAKE NOTES! Missing 1 class will guarantee a few wrong Answers on the test. Tests are over EXACTLY what you go over in class.
When grading my assignments, not once was good constructive criticism given. Every comment he made was very condescending and rude.
Dr. John Moretta is a great teacher. He looks out for his student, quick to respond to emails, and ready to help at all time. I took him for Hist 1302, he made me love history, and I gained a lot of knowledge being his student. He made the class so much stress free and you do not need to buy book. All materials are in the modules.
Dr. Moretta is truly a caring professor who will go the extra mile to make sure that his students succeed. I took History 1301 online. To get an A in the class be prepared to read the textbook and all the resources provided. Not an easy A by any means but if you work hard Moretta will take care of you and I am forever grateful for that.
His class is pretty straight forward, take four tests and thats it. He wont ask for extra assignments. You have to study on your own and the tests are every 2 weeks. The textbook isn't really needed since he uploads some helpful and summarized powerpoints on the textbook. Make sure your prepare for the essay question with the essay question hint.
I enjoyed classes with him, he was very enthusiastic and always had something funny to say, his test are a little rough but nothing you cant do if you study good. The only things is that he doesnt ever reply to his emails. I ended up failing his class because he never saw my email where it was attached and by the time I noticed it was too late.
Prof. Moretta is a great instructor, his essay topics are actually engaging, he appreciates honest opinions, and i would definitely take him again, he responds in a timely manner if you have a question, and he even dropped an essay from one of the tests. if you read the text and write a good essay, you will do fine.
I ABSOLUTELY loved this prof. He and I differ in our political views -he is a dying breed. A prof who is respectful of others views even though they are not his own. He gave amazing feedback on my test essays. Even though we are polar opposites, he was willing to honor my view & was so encouraging. Truly a kind person. Read his book for the final.
We only have tests for this class. No homework so the tests count for a big part of your grade. The tests consist of 2 parts. 25 questions worth 2 points each and then an essay to write which is worth 50 points. Just make sure to read the textbook and write good detailed essays. Overall the class is pretty easy to pass. And the professor is nice.
the important info, 4 Exams for 16 weeks, including final and no extra work. No lockdown browser but he does require an essay of at least 750 for 3 exams, not for the final. You have 3 hrs for exams. He does leave extra notes for each chapters which are helpful. He is a good professor, and if you are able to write a good essay, you will be ok! (:
Amazing lectures !! I really enjoyed his class. All you have in his class are tests and the tests have a short essay. Make sure you give your opinion in the essay!! Professor moretta definitely speaks his mind but is very very respectful and understanding . 100% would take this class again.
I did not like that for my class the final exam was over his book and I read his book several times trying to retain the information. Long story short I did not get a good grade on the final but he is understanding. Also if you have to get the book he wrote it was his thesis so you can read it for free on pdf. Just search the title and author.
Took an 8wk summer sess. Prof Moretta was Great! It is quite a bit of reading, chap. quizzes don't count towards final grade. Each test no more than 26 questions except final 50 questions. there is an essay on every test 250 -500 words easy topics. gives feedback, communicates effectively. gives essay hints before each test.
That's the hardest A I have ever got. I took an summer online class, no homework, total 3 exam + final. The first 3 exams are multiple questions + essay, gives essay hint before exam. But he is a really tough grader. And the final is about his own book that you cannot find answer online. Don't take this class if you want an easy A.
His grading is so dumb, he grades based off how he would write the essay not off if you followed directions. He's kind of a narcissist, he's like obsessed with himself and he's gonna make you buy a book he wrote for the class. The MC questions are easy though, but you have to do an essay with each test.
I was hoping this class would go well for me even though the ratings were average for him. However, this class went immensely terrible for me and my classmates would've agreed with me as well. This professor made us buy a book that he made and couldn't find it online or anywhere and made the final exam about his book. AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!
best history professor I've ever had. I took his online anytime course and it's hard to fail. Just 4 exams, first 3 can easily be studied on Quizlet. Each exam has a 750-1000 word essay, for all he asks is your opinion and not about the facts. He gave kind feedback on my essays and agreed with my views. Final exam is questions about his short book
This professor is great. He only has 4 exams. The first 3 exams are 25-30 MCQ's with an essay of 750-1000+ words. They can be found on Quizlet. Essay is just about your opinion and not about facts. They are easy. The final is about his book. Read the book and the questions are easy. Some can be found online, but all of them come from his book. Easy
50% of the points on all tests are essays. if you're not good at essays (like me) then you will not pass this class. barely uses the actual textbook, made us all buy a book that he wrote himself, and the entire final was just on the book that he wrote. would definitely not take him again.
Most test answers are nothing but a google search away except the final he does require you to get a book that he wrote which at first I was like ew who does that but to my surprise the book was actually a damn good read . He is a great professor and has great topics that truly make you think. I truly think anyone could pass this class with him!
Give your true honest opinion on each essay required for each test. There are three test with 25 multiple choice questions and an essay of 750-1000 words. He does provide hints to prepare for essay but overall all the answers for the MC can be found online. FYI, DO NOT TRUST OUTSIDE SORCE FOR FINAL(cheg has wrong answer). Just read the mans book.
It's more effort to fail this class than pass it. For the summer course, it's 3 tests, none cumulative & just based on 4 chapters each. There's a pretty extensive essay part of the tests. Reading in full isn't necessary, there's not THAT much to read but you can get by with just a quick skim. The questions are easy, but you'll need it for the essay
I took his class in 1988. It was more about listening and discussing history. He made it fun. He let us know all the stuff you never read about in high school. A student asked why he became a teacher .He was in the service and his crew couldn't read. He taught them. That gave him the teaching bug . He's just a good guy that teaches great things.
I took his online course, EXTREMELY TEST HEAVY, you can find his main book through online libraries, but his final exam is based solely on the book he wrote himself, which is not available in e-book format. aside from that his class is fine.
3 exams and a final over a book written by the professor. First 3 exams are multiple choice and 750-1000 word essay. He grades tough. Impossible to get an A. Everyone in my class got a B, no matter how bad or good we did. If As are important, skip this prof, if you just need it for pre-reqs, its an easy B.
Comes across as a bit pretentious and a smart aleck
I saw so many 50/50 reviews about this Professor. He is a tough grader but he was not that bad.
Have 4 exams. The half exam is mc questions and the other half is a 750 to 1000-word essay; you only have 3 hours to do it all. The mc questions can be searched on quizlet and Chegg. Nobody can't get an A on the exams. The teacher doesn't clarify or help with the exam. Buy the teacher's book and read 10 chapters for final exam.
He only assigns 4 tests, which are essays and multiple choice. He's a tough grader with the essays, and only gives you three hours to write a 1000-word essay. While he doesn't assign much, it's hard to get a good grade with only those 4 tests.
The only assignments were tests. They consisted of multiple-choice sections that were simple if you read the textbook, and an essay where he wants to hear himself and points, he made only in lectures. Without attending lectures and reading his books, it'll be hard to do well in this class. Requires you buy his books or else tests are impossible.
Dr. Moretta's class was wonderful! One of the best profs. I've ever had and I'm not even a history major; he has cool grandpa energy. His interesting lectures made me want to go to class. Of course you have to put in some work if you want an A...you're in college. 3 tests require 750 word essays that demonstrate critical thinking & are done online.
Go take Dr, Moretta's class! He makes it so simple to make an A. Four tests and that's it! No class discussions, no quizzes, and no papers its every student's dream. Yes, there is an essay at the end of every test but Dr. Moretta is very fair. Trying goes a long way in his class.
DO NOT take him! His feedback for my written exams were "Only stated facts, not opinions." That's it. He comes off pretentious and his book is SO boring. DO NOT bother reading his book. I got a 76 just by googling answers for his final, 50 MC. The three other exams were online except the essay is a hassle. Take someone else.
Dr. M is a highly skilled and experienced professor who has a genuine passion for teaching. He is always willing to go the extra mile to help his students succeed, and he truly cares about their academic and personal growth. He is always willing to work with students who are struggling.
Honestly, I don't understand why people rate him bad, he actually curved my final grade which was surprising. I originally had an 88 but he curved it to a 90 so I would have an A. You'll be fine on these exams if you know how to write opinionated essays.
Took this over the summer and it wasnt bad. 3 papers, he will give you 3 prompts (you choose 1 out of the 3) 3 days before the test so you can have a headstart. Papers 750-1000 word limit and you have to use your imagination and 30-40 multiple choice questions, Can find answers on quizlet. Simple words I didnt try and made an A.
Best history professor I've ever had! Class consists of 2 tests and one essay final. He's not a tough grader and he would make his test really easy for his students to pass. His class is very lecture heavy but he knows how to make it interesting and engaging. Take detail notes and read the textbook here and there and you'll be fine.
In terms of difficulty, his class is not difficult. I took a wintermester course and it consisted of 3 exams with a written portion for each. Pay attention to the instructions and you should be fine. I just rated him low since he left a positive comments saying it was a very well written essay and then proceeded to give me 28 out of 50 points.
This class is relatively easy. It consists of 3 exams that include an essay regarding the chapters we read. He gives very poor feedback on the essay which makes it hard to improve on the next exam. In addition to this, he doesn't have a rubric for us to see what else should be included. On the bright side, he responds fairly quickly.
I would def take Prof Dr Moretta again. Quizzes are all on quizlet but he does grade a bit tough on the essays. If you are a good writer, it will actually be fun as he lets you write in first person. Easy A, TAKE HIM!! He was also very communicative and responds fast to messages
You have to buy his own book for the final exam. He grades his online class's essays (that are on the exams) very harsh. He also does not give feedback for our essays so you wont know what to improve on. No one got an A in our class. Good luck.
He knows history can be boring so he keeps the class involved by asking questions. He's very lecture heavy, no quizzes, no hw, just a few tests. Take notes because his tests are based off of the lectures. Attendance isnt mandatory but he'll give extra credit just for being in class sometimes, so it wouldnt hurt to show up to every class.
As the other reviews have stated, this professor is AMAZING to listen to in class, even for someone who isn't the biggest fan of history. Though he says all of his tests are off lecture only, I would say only half were and the rest were the textbook. He wasn't tech savvy and input incorrect grades for most of my classmates. KEEP THE TEST PAPERS!!!
I had Dr. Moretta for HIST1301 and HIST1302 last year. I enjoyed his class, and I think he's a great professor. He's very understanding of students' situations and talks about history in a way that's easy to understand. He doesn't use presentations and the tests are mostly based off his lectures.
One of the best professors I've had, and the class was pretty easy as well. No homework, just four 50 question exams; most other comments mention a writing portion, but he didn't do that for my class. The lectures were enjoyable and I actually learned the material, not just memorizing. As long as you listen in class and take notes you'll do fine.
Prof Moretta keeps the class engaging with his interactive lectures. Though essay-heavy, the tests are straightforward if you stay on top of the material. Unstuckstudy was a lifesaver for preparing the essays.
As long as you do the reading your fine. We only had to do 4 exams and that was the entire work load for the semester. He leaves feedback with your grades so you can improve. Low maintenance class. He's super understanding. I had some stuff come up and missed an exam. I emailed him about it and he just counted my second exam for 2 grades.
He only has grades for 4 exams. Is a HARD grader and is very sarcastic with his responses. He told us we would have a multiple choice final and it is stated on his syllabus BUT in the last week he said we have to write an essay instead. Not a hard teacher. Just annoying to deal with.
This is a great course to take when the rest of your classes are super time consuming. The only course work is four exams taken throughout the semester. All of his essays prompts are to be written from the viewpoint of a character or historical figure, which is pretty annoying if that's not your strong suit. He gives helpful feedback on essays.
He gives you 4 assignments, which includes a quiz and an essay. He's a tough grader, at first he gave me some stuff to fix and gave me an 81, and the other three said they were really good and gave me an 88 on two of them and a 90. He has no extra credit. Which led me to not get an A.
The most brutal grader ever! He would say you have the best essay and then give you a C without explanation. His class is based on 4 timed quizzes with essays, which you have to write on the spot. No warning of what type of prompts. He tells you to buy his book and midway says you didn't need to buy it. I always get A's but he brought my GPA down.
Pretty chill professor but very tough on grading. You have 3 exams with an essay. He doesn't give good feedback but overall the exams are pretty easy.
This professor is amazing! I had him for History 1302, and he was truly outstanding. He provides all the information we need for exams. The course only had three graded exams, also offered extra practice quizzes, which were helpful. Each exam had about 26 questions and an essay worth 50% of the exam. It wasn't hard at all! definitely recommend him.
I took the 5-week summer course and there were no assignments except for 3 exams, each with a few multiple choice questions and a 750 word first-person POV essay. Super chill professor, and I 100% recommend taking him!
Im taking him for every history class.
don't have to show up ngl but if you don't your gonna fail his class it consist of 3 exams no homework no assignments nothing except his hour long lectures if you don't take notes or record every lecture he gives you will fail his 50 question exams cool dude but if your able to take notes on lectures go for it just not me tho will not recomend
I wish he taught every course! Very informative lectures! He is engaging, gives a lot of details. I have taken him online and in person. Love, love, love. He has reviews in class before an exam, he grades pretty quickly. 10 out of 10. Trust.
