You will have to work hard for an A but he makes you enjoy the class so it doesn't seem like such hard work.

Really cool guy. He somehow makes really hard stuff seem easy and learnable. He's really passionate about biology. He has a good sense of humor. But this class is a lot of work, and it takes time. I would advise taking a lower bio course first before this one if you aren't sure this is what you want to go into.

Dr. Naggy is the best professor in the world. he helped me a lot! since english is my second language he never bothered to explain me the meaning of any word i asked. he is master in different areas!! u can talk to him about the history, economics, life in general! Dr. Nagy is one of the best teachers you will get! He is extremely thorough as well as helpful. Answers all questions asked in class and out of class. You can tell he is well educated and professional. My advice to you is to study and attend all of his classes because he goes through a lot of material in one day! Tests are tough, but just study!

I had Dr. Nagy a while ago and he is the most inspirational teacher I have ever had. However, the class requires a lot of studying. Not much HW, but labs are lengthy also he hypes up the final a lot, if you go over power points and old tests you should do just fine.

Dr. Nagy is probably the most interesting professor I've ever had. He's also more than willing to help and answer any questions you may have. If you pay attention in lecture, being sure to take detailed notes, and turn in all of your labs (which he does accept late with no docked points), then you'll do just fine.

He can be a bit intimidating because he is very serious, but if you go to him after class or during office hours he is very nice and always willing to help. Dr. Nagy is a very dedicated, fast talking, will make sure you are prepared as if you have gone to Harvard or MIT. He makes you think about everything. Dr. Nagy is brilliant but can be intimidating! Lectures are mandatory but so interesting! He has a very organized structure and a very understandable method of teaching. Go to lectures, take notes on the power points, study those and you will do great. It is a lot of information but as long as you pay attention you will be fine! He is VERY helpful!

Dedicated teacher who is willing to help at any time if you are willing to work hard. Come to class having reviewed the chapter(s) and the powerpoints. Labs go the full time allotted. John Nagy was the most difficult teacher that I have ever had, and also the most intelligent man I have ever met in my life. His classes are unbelievably hard; assignments take hours to complete and there are many per week. All of that being said, it was one of the best classes I have ever taken. If you are in the Biology field, you must take Nagy.

I had him for BIO181 and the BIOAA 298 course, he's brilliant and will tell you exactly what he wants you do for assignments and work. He is absolutely fantastic. I would recommend him to anyone and every one interested in biology. He's also a fast talker, so recording the lectures might be mandatory.

Dr Nagy is super smart and teaches the subject well. He talks really fast so recording the lectures is extremely helpful. This is the first class I have ever felt like I needed a recorder for. He's inspirational and professional. He's really busy all the time though so take advantage of office hours as much as you can. Tests tough, hardly any EC.

Dr Nagy is exeptional! I must say if you leave his course with one thing it would be knowledge. He's always there to help you understand things if they aren't clear for you. Absolutely loved Nagy! If you need BIO181, i recommend his course 100%. You have to attend every lab and lecture to keep up- record lectures with your phone to go over before tests! This class is not an easy A. The key criteria to earning an A in this class (and others) is to study effectively and efficiently. You have to make the time to study to do well in this course. Nagy is truly an exceptional professor. Clearly very educated in his field. This class should only be taken if you are serious about the field. It may be intro biology, but it's definitely strenuous. If you don't show up to lectures, you will miss valuable information.

He is one of my favourite professors, he honestly cares for his students and the subject, and makes the lectures interesting. The first unit is incredibly tough if you don't have some sort of chemistry under your belt. But in my own opinion it got to be better after. Also- TAKE VERY GOOD NOTES it's very important- write everything down, I swear.

Great professor if you actually are a biology major! He knows a lot and ties his medical doctor work into his lectures, super interesting lectures that must be attended to do well. I suggest recording his lectures it really helped and be prepared to grasp whole concepts for short answers test questions. Long tests compared to other bio courses.

Dr. Nagy is such a great prof. It is undeniable that his class is challenging, however the return of knowledge you gain is much larger than you'd imagine. Learn how to graph in excel 7. Pick a good lab GROUP (4 is better divide & conquer). 8. Do lab packet right after class (TIME CONSUMING) 9. Visit office hours

This class feels like a billion pieces of information that you have to remember and it is. You'll definitely want to take notes during lectures and do the recommended readings. He definitely focuses on the medical students future paths. The lab was fun though.

Record every lecture. Take notes like you have never taken. Do the study guide that day, then do it again. Nagys class is intense, and he aspects you to keep up. If you are truly passionate about biology, medicine, research TAKE THIS CLASS. Hes is one of the best teachers(if not the best) i've ever had. Put in the work, you wont regret it.

The final is difficult! My advice is to go into the final exam with a high A already. For lab make sure u do the graphs and usually the last question is extra credit. I was able to get about 11 points from this. Every exam has extra credit as well! You can succeed but, it will require re-listening to the lectures while doing the study guides.

Dr Nagy is such a tough lecturer but hes amazing. Study every lecture, and do all the labs since they count for the most. He curves the the final a lot so I somehow got an A after doing terribly on all the exams. Hes such a nice guy and you wont regret taking his class (once its over).

He really thinks we are Uni level which is great but made it very difficult. think the only people who didnt struggle are the advance students. You need to be really prepared for his class. He is very fast, no reviews before test, no homework, just the lectures. For real was not his level

Take CHM130 prior to the course. Record his lectures & labs he low-key give answers away once you play it back! Do the study guides immediately after class do not wait or you will not do well on the exams! The book isn't a must but, reading the chapters BEFORE lecture makes it easier to comprehend the material. Difficult exams but, amazing teacher!

Exceptional professor. Do not expect this class to be easy. Dr. Nagy will push you past what you thought were your limits. It helps to have CHM 130 (or 150) knowledge . Read the chapters before class, record lectures, complete all study guides, and thoroughly review all quizzes before the exams.

In order to succeed, I highly urge you to attend every lecture and take concise notes. Record if you have to. Exams are not curved except the final, but extra credit is offered on each. Do the study guides and study the quizzes. Textbook reading is not necessary as lectures are more important, but provide good background info. Hard yet fair class.

My favorite teacher ever!! This is a difficult class but Nagy is very passionate about the subject and cares so much about his students and their success. His lectures were so captivating, and he explains concepts really well. The class isn't super test heavy, so it's possible to get a good grade as long as you do the homework and pay attention.

Dr. Nagy is hands down one of the best professors Ive had. Even with an online courses, he kept us engaged and was easily accessible. The course is tough and a lot of work, but he gives you every chance to succeed and learn the material. Hes pretty funny too which is always a nice plus! The real deal. He is very knowledgeable in his field. He lays down what is expected from the get go. When he says the test and quizzes are very comprehensive, he means it so pay attention to the lectures. He encourages students to be independent and to be aware of false information in the science world which many science teachers fail to do. Kudos.

Taking this class online is HARD. The quiz and exam formats are super challenging because I think he's worried about cheating issues. But if you put in the work this class will change you. If you just want a grade, take someone else! But if you want one of the best learning experiences in your life and are willing to push yourself, do it!!!

Very accessible for any questions/concerns via email/ office hours. Quiz/test format is extensive writing so you need to study, pay attention and focus to the best of your abilities. Toughest grader Ive had in college Id say. The labs online are HARD and take hours. You learn a lot in this class but it is not for the weak minded/ poor studiers.

Class was hard, specially the Labs. A lot of critical thinking, analyzing, reading, but you learn so much and it is very interesting. This class also opened a door for me to explore other areas as a career. It has made me rethink what I will want to major in. I do NOT recommend taking this class as a 4 week class. Great professor.

When i decuided to take him I was beyond worried because I never took bio, howveer taking his class made me swich my major to bio and made me fall in love with the way he lectured. BIO 181 with Professor Nagy is amazing but extremely hard. If you want an A in this class you need to dedicate several hours each week to this course. Dr. Nagy changed my life. I took his class as a full-time working hairdresser that lacked confidence in any sort of academic potential. He came in with such enthusiasm and told a story about a ballerina who accidentally took his class and is a cardiologist. I've never written on here before because I didn't think any of them were worth rating but Dr. Nagy is a wonderful teacher. I have never been one to like learning and being excited about a subject but he made biology so fun. Took the class in 5-weeks was really fast paced was like a full time job, so be prepared. Exams are hard, Labs were a breeze.

He is very passionate about Biology. I just do not recommend you take his class online, he is a much better and engaged instructor in person. The only credit you get towards a grade are from your exams. He doesnt provide you feedback so its kind of difficult to know if you are understanding the material.

Dr. Nagy is very knowledgeable and passionate about biology. Take the labs taught by him- no one else. Do the in-person class. The homework is mostly textbook based. He answers questions you may have. His class pushes you to be a good learner, and it is very gratifying once you understand the coursework and pass.
