Just go MOST of the time and read over the outlines for the tests. You can get an A for just being there and paying attention basically. Great teacher - I actually enjoyed his stories and interesting topics.

He made learning fun, even political science was made interesting. He is a very good teacher and actually made me want to learn more. I learned a lot of important information in his class. He was extremely helpful.

Very helpful and energetic. Study packets were very clear & straight forward. Dont buy the book, just do the study guide and go to class, you will do fine. Gives x-tra credit on each quiz. Class goes by fast, and you learn a lot. Great guy all around.

he is great. very unbiased. i expected totally liberal gov. teacher, but was really fair. exellent review of chapter and gives extra credit quizzes. makes poly sci interesting. oh, amd class gets out early most of the time

He makes the class interesting, is willing to work with you, and gives extra credit quizes every week.The lecture are outlined for you, just fill in the blank. and we get out early almost everytime.

We did nothing in this class and never had to read the book. He didn't even grade any of our papers. But we had good class discussions and it was fun. Just a waste of time, seeing as how I wanted to learn about comparative politics. But oh well, easy grade

Makes politics fun to learn about, which I never thought possible. Very cool guy, you feel comfortable participating in discussions. Easy A, but you still learn a lot, because he makes it interesting.

John is an awesome teacher. I never had any interest in Political Science until I took this course. He is very straight forward and his class is very understandable. I learned a lot and he made it fun & interesting. Take him for PS1, you'll be glad you did. Highly recommended! He's very cool!!!

ool teacher, very easy,i never studied for it and got an A, i failed ps1 be4 but i took his 8 week class and his lectures were so clear u dont have to worry about the class anymore.. midterm are online so its like an open book i really recommend him specially if u like USC

I didn't know much about political science till he got me so interested in his discussions and all that he knows about the government. Oh, he is also a lawyer and likes to help out his students.

John is the best teacher ever he is a really nice guy that cares for his students. He makes the class more interesting and making it easier to take notes with powerpoint he gives us the notes in the beginning of each class with a blanks to fill in. The 2 midterms are online and the final too.:)

At first,not interested in this subject.But as course progressed,I came to find the class interesting.Professors' style of teaching and the outstanding amount of class participation were key.Professor Nguyen truly is for the student. I will defintely recommend this class-Thank you Prof.Nguyen

Prof. Nguyen is TIGHT! Defently take his classes, their always upbeat and never boring. Always good debates and some good arguments. He's young so he knows how it is very down to earth with everything and he snowboards.

He is AWESOME! I learned so much about politics and foreign affairs and was not weighted down my test and hard midterms. He was great and I would recommend him to anyone. If you come to class and participate u get an easy A.

Really nice guy and a great instructor. He's young, which is cool because it's someone you can kind of relate to more or less. It's nice to have a professor who knows how to use a computer; the incorporation of blackboard was awesome for tests and quizzes. Easy to get a hold of on AIM or e-mail.

This class employs most participation of any class I've ever had. He lets us out early, but we still stay to discuss. He’s very friendly and I would definitely recommend his class.

Down to earth guy from indiana. very concerned about students and even encourages rating him on this site. doesn't make you stay too long and has some interesting legal perspective on things. we actually got to take t2 and final online and he curved all grades.

Thorough notes, tips, reminders, but sometimes unclear assignments. "Dumbs" down the material and helps relate it to currect issues which is helpful.

If you have no interest in government and politics and need this class as a requirement, this is your man. He will make you interested, or at least make it easy on you. Highly reccomended.

John makes it easy on everyone in class... all the tests and notes are online, which is really great. Offers an extra credit quiz that you can take online before or after class. That aside, he is a GREAT teacher. I highly reccomend him.

Very clear about what he wants you to know- tell you exactly what to study for 2 midterms and final. Gives just one essay project. Extra credit quizzes given before every class for points that can go towards your midterm. Come to class and use your notes, you'll get an A.

Prof. Nguyen made the class so much more interesting than I thought. He explained everything so clearly, and made the material easy to understand. But his tests aren't as easy as everyone makes it out to be.... those were tough. The school needs to give him more classes!

Workload is extremely reasonable, even in an 8-week version of the class. Lectures are clear and straightforward, and he's always available for help online and class is straightforward enough that you wouldn't have great need to visit office hours in-person. I couldn't imagine a better PS1 class.

Mr. Nguyen is awesome! He's straight to the point, fun, and makes things relevant to your life. He's very accessible, so if you ever have any problems he's pretty easy to track down and talk to. This is THE Political Science class to take. Even if it wasn't required, I would have been glad to take this class.

He's great, very understandable, reasonable, and all that good stuff..You actually enjoy going to class and you will learn something to go along with it.

the structure of his class is awsome. he makes it as easy for you as he possibly can. go to class, fill in the notes, and make an easy to follow guide for yourself before taking the test. but don't forget to take the online quizzes that come after each class!

He makes this class very interesting and fun. Quizes are optional... all you need to do is study the handouts for the tests. He is more than willing to assist you if you ask.

Excellent professor. He stresses the importance of the Bill of Rights and although I had him over a year ago, I remember a good deal of it. My only critique is that the class was moderately unchallenging...but with a full load of classes it's hard to complain about that sort of thing.

He is one of the excellent teacher! He gives you tons of extra credit and very frexible about everything(such as due date!). He makes the class interesting even thogh it's politics. You wii learn something, so take him! You won't be regret!!

This course consists mostly of online quizzes that reflect the in-class notes... Totally easy. John is very flexible and helpful with his students. He is willing to give enough extra credit opportunities just so everyone can reach a better grade. An "A" is completely feasible in this class, and I never once wanted to fall asleep... thanks to John!

This was by far the best class that I have taken at saddleback! I didnt think I was going to do very good in the class but Professor Nguyen is a great teacher, and very helpful. He made the class very interesting and I would love to take another one of his classes!!

This class was great. I learned so much from John and he made everything interesting. I truly liked attending the class and I always wanted to show up, learn, and work hard. He truly care that you understand the material and is very helpful.

Damn, this guy is by far the easiest teacher I have had in my entire life, you take the all the quizes, and tests (yes including the final) from home. He gives you the notes in advance on the internet, you just fill in the blank like a monkey. He also drops your two lowest test scores and gives your more time than needed for everything summary:EZ-A

as you can see from the comments , this is a good professor, I recommend him 150%. ... by the end of the semester ull get out knowing all material for only half the effort you have to put in other political science class. A MUST TAKE CLASS!

One of the best teachers I've had, can't tell how easy it is to get an A! So nice, really funny, we all have to take this class....make sure to take it with him! and surprisingly you actually learn in his class.

Easy class. Classes usually only last an hour. Each chapter you have a quiz that you take on blackboard and you have 3 total tests (also on blackboard) You're able to use your outlines, notes and book. He is a fair and pretty easy instructor. If you're looking for an easy A I would take him.

John runs a very well structured and entertaing class. He is ALWAYS availiable whether is by email or even instant messanger. if there is ever any questions or concers about any topics in class he is always able to fill you in and help you out! John rocks, and if i was able to take anymore classes from him i would!

John is a great teacher who responds to the students' needs. If you ever have the chance of taking one of his classes, you should. The secert to success is go to class to fill in your notes. By doing so, all that will be on the tests will be covered (and you will have notes on it).

I was scared to take this class...If I woould have known how easy and great it would be I would not still be at saddleback...He is a GREAT professor. Probably one of the best I have ever had! Loved the class and learned a lot that can actually help me in the future!! TAKE HIM!!!

He is a fun teacher when it comes to the boring topic. He was not the easiest teacher and not the hardest teacher. I would of given him a 3 on easiness scale but he does something very fair to your grade when it is time to take the final. It made me rate him 4 on easiness instead of 3 due to that. Won't say what but I will leave it as a surprise.

Good teacher. I took the eight week class and it was short and interesting. The proffesor is organized with lectures and clear.

Few pointers if you take him: He makes the class VERY easy, you do minimal studying. I studied 1 hour a week and got A+. He likes debate and when stupid people speak up. I like how last day he gave us "legal advice". This is great class to take if you have full load and don't want too much thinking

I took this class online and it was sooo easy. There were 5min weekly quizzes and 3 midterms. If you're computer savvy, take this online class and I'm sure you can figure out how to get an A. The only studying I did was putting his powerpoints into notes and reading them over once before the quizzes and tests. If you know computers, take this class

This was a great internet format. Students are encouraged to read the text and then review John's powerpoint lecture presentations which incorporate humor with clear and concise information. This is an excellent introductory and mandatory course EVERYONE should take.

JUST FINISHED AN ONLINE SUMMER SCHOOL CLASS. CLASS WAS ORGANIZED AND INTERESTING. PROFESSOR NGUYEN MADE IT ENJOYABLE.

Great class! John makes it very easy for you to pass and if you don't than stop going to school. You are a wasted seat! I would recommend taking this class on the internet because you can make your own schedule and he makes it very clear on what you have to do. Tons of extra credit and a ton of freebies such as points taken of quizzes and tests!

Use a white board when keeping track of dates for due dates. They are changed so many times you will get confused.

I took his online course. No discussion boards which is great, and quizzes tests are straight from the lectures. I recieved an A in this class and I am definitely not A student. It was a very organized class.

I took his online 8 week course over the summer. It's all done on blackboard. He has PowerPoint notes with his own comments as if you are in the class. Fill in the blank non-mandatory worksheets (word for word from notes). 10 question quiz for each chapter. 2 tests but I think it's 3 now. Easy A. Definitely recommend. I actually learned a lot.

I took the online class, and it was very easy. He is fair in his grading, and the paper is easy. online powerpoints have all the information needed for the quizzes and exams, and make sure you post on the discussion board!! He is pretty good about emailing back, sometimes it takes him awhile, but he's a busy guy!

I was surprised that I ended up really enjoying this subject matter. I took the class online and John had everything very well organized and it was easy to follow. Just get your work done and you will get an A. Good teacher.

I took his online class and it is really easy to understand, very organized, you just have to be organized with schedule to knoe when to take class and submit your paper not to miss deadlines.. I met him too, he is young and a very interesting guy. I dreaded taking political science but he made it fun....thanks John!!!

John is such a great teacher. He plays the Devil's advocate on issues, and doesn't let the class know where he stands on politics, so he really makes you think.

This teacher's class was informative while not overcomplicated and thats saying something in a government class.

He made this class fun and interesting by adding in his personality into the lessons, and as long as you make the effort, he will assist you in any way he can! He is great and I had a wonderful experience being my first college course.

Online class consisted of discussions and quizzes based on PPT lectures. Be careful though, the final is a bit more difficult than the quizzes; wording is different and includes tougher questions. The required essay can be on just about anything political, so the possibilities are endless. Didn't need to contact him, so no problems there.

The teacher doesn't return emails, so don't even bother. Short 10 question quiz after each lesson. 2 major tests: midterm and final, and 1 paper.I would recommend taking him, this is what a online class should be like. You have to copy lecture notes on a power point, but it's not bad. Plus he lets you take the quizes 2 times! Highest grade counts
