He's great, fun and you learn a lot!

He is really fun and you do learn a lot, although his tests are really hard.

He was awesome. I wound up not even having to take the final because he gave so much XC I had 100%

Fun times in class. every lecture has something to make you laugh.. Plays favorites big time.

He is an excellent teacher! He is extremely fun, and if you take the time to talk to him and get to know him you quickly become one of his favorites...how do u know if you're one of his favorites? He knows your name :)

Even though his tests are difficult, he is very fair. He tries to make his lectures funny. He is very helpful and willing to work with you if you ask for help.

This class is really fun and not that hard. Make sure to go to class the days before holidays or breaks cause he will give extra credit!!

Cool guy and you can be his best friend if you have watermelons growing on your chest, if you know what I mean.

Awesome. On line notes a great help. Likes to have fun in class, energetic, likes students. Tests are hard, but fair. He'll give you all the help you need, all you gotta do is ask. Great guy. Take him if you can for sure.

This proffesor is rally nice. He has clear idea, clear lecture note. The class is so interesting.

Easy B no problem. NEVER went to class but great prof. Knows his stuff and cares about students. He let me finish a test after I forgot to do the back page. Lets you use notesheet after 1st test. Stress-free class! Learn alot.

If it's not in his blackbored notes then its not on the test. Tests are specific but when you get a notesheet, as long as everyone participates, it gets better. Lab is pointless busywork. Always fun though.

A wise instructor. Go for any class with him. He really knows what he is talking about and he is so kind and polite that you won't have choice: you gonna learn.

Very nice guy! All notes are on Blackboard. So all you have to do is study online notes and you'll be fine: No need to buy book or go to class- TRUST ME! Oh yeah & it doesn't hurt if you're cute & flirt w/ him...if you're into that sort of thing...

He was kind of an d!ck head when it came to lab and some of class, but over all he was funny and he does have a nice side to him. If you sit in the front and he learns your name its a good thing. The 3rd test is super hard so study alot for it!

Take Nosek for any class that you can! He is such a nice guy and is all about having fun. All the notes are on blackboard, but I would still recommend going to class. His tests can be kind of hard, but if you know the stuff, you'll be fine.

He is a really nice guy and you feel like you can ask him anything. He's always willing to help. He wants everyone to understand the material. Go to lab, it's just boring, busy work. Class is optional. Just make sure to get the notes off of bb though

Nosek is a funny guy, he makes you think about the environment. I would recommend going to class, he will tell you the stuff that is on the test. His office is always open for questions.

Hilarious. Lectures can drag sometimes but go to them and the tests will be so much easier. You'll do better if you follow along with his printed notes AND take some of you own. Awesome guy, definately take his class.

It's nice having the notes on the internet because every day he just lectures from those notes. This makes it easy to study for exams, because his exams are pretty hard. Lab is pretty easy.

I had him for general bio lab and lecture- Labs are easy- Class is mostly based on the tests..STUDY for them!! He is AN AWESOME man though-VERY good teacher-very clear w/ what he talks about and explains in lecture. Awesome sense of humor also!! (goat)

Lecture notes are on blackboard, very helpful to print them out before lectures. Easy to follow when you have the notes. The first two tests were pretty easy if you studied, 3rd test pretty hard...4th one will have a lot of info..could be tough! Lab is fun/easy...good class!

Real fun teacher, cool guy, wore a dress to class once b/c he lost a bet. Tests aren't bad if you go to class and study a little. Make sure if you take this class he is also your lab teacher.

He makes his tests out to be harder than they are. Lecture is helpful to go to, but not a necessity. I've went to three all semester and pulled a B.. All you have to do is print off the lecture notes and be sure to read and highlight them carefully.. not very hard at all.

First off, go to class, not only do you get extra credit on occasions, but he's really funny. He tries to get to know people and is very helpful. The tests are based on the notes covered in class (placed on blackboard prior to lecture). Very easy and enjoyable. Just be sure to study.

Dr. Nosek is a really nice guy, and is always being funny. His class is not hard at all, just make sure you have your notes with you during his lectures. He's always willing to help students, and is really a great guy. Study for tests!! They can be very challenging. Always go to the review sessions.

I don't like science at all, but his class was still fun. He gives you the lecture notes and tells you exactly what will be on the test. Take this class if you want an easy science gen ed.

Nosek is the man, uses powerpoint for notes...don't need to buy the book, just study his online notes, and you'll be fine, I did and got a C. He is a really good prof, prolly one of the best at WSU.

this class was easy!! i attended it a total of 5 times and got a B in the class. Do need to study black board notes for the exam. nice guy, if have questions he'll take time to answer them and whatever else he can do to make you understand everything

I took this conservation class cuz i had him in a general bio class previously- b/c he's SO awesome! GREAT prof and SO helpful. The tests are kinda tough- but all you have to do is study for them and you should generally be fine!! TAKE DR. NOSEK!!!!

An awesome guy overall. Go to class and follow along with the lectures. The tests are a little tough, but study the terms and you'll do fine.

BEST professor at winona state. the night before the first exam, he scheduled a review session to answer any of his students' questions...this guy takes time out of his life for his students. a great guy, super nice, and very very intelligent. best prof i've had yet. TAKE HIM FOR EVERYTHING

Easy class, professor is pretty interesting. Has some interesting stories. It's an easy A class if you show up to class everyday and memorize the notes for tests. I wouldn't even buy the book you won't need it.

GO TO CLASS and you will get an A. Unfortunately i didn't care to get up at 8 in the morning EVER and currently have a C...

He puts ALL of his lecture notes on blackboard and explains them thoroughly. Go to class and you will have no problem! He's a nice guy, a little quirkey, but give him a chance and you'll see how fun he is! He is truly one of the most quality professors.

Professor Nosek is awesome. He is extremely helpful and a really nice guy. He has some interesting stories and seems to be into geography. Alot. I was having trouble with a test and he took the time to help me out. He is awesome and definately recommend him.

Prof. Nosek is a very good teacher. If you don't understand something don't hesitate to talk to him. He will go out of his way to help. It is not a really easy class but if you study, and understand the material you'll do fine. Oh and try to get his as your lab theacher.

This class is awesome! Every day is a lecture, but most people surf the net. I got an A and I only attended class about 50% of the time! He is really nice and he really cares about his students! I would definitely take him again!

He's a great prof. He explains material that otherwise to me would have been quite vague. He always holds review sessions in the class period prior to tests, which are not hard if you study the notes well.

Professor Nosek made class simple and interesting. Although you will need to study to do well in this class, like any other class, it is pretty painless. Professor Nosek makes learning about Biology fun!

I HATE science and I was pretty okay with this class. He makes it fun and interesting, and gives notes on blackboard with blanks to fill in during class so it's not too boring. Isn't really necessary to have the book, but it can come in handy if you don't have some notes or charts from lectures. Good prof to take!

He is a really nice Professor!! I helps you out alot in study groups.... hence GO TO THEM, because he answers any questions you have! Don't buy the book, seriously all his exams are right off his notes. I got an A in both Env/Cons and Bio w/o a book. Take him!

Pretty easy class in general. Provides review sessions before the exams, which are easy if you review the notes on Blackboard. Highly recommended.

Hey, this guy was named Professor of the Year last year. That pretty much tells you what you need to know. Take him over any of the others that teach the same class.

Very interesting professor. Very nice and can be funny in lectures and labs. Very helpful and smart. Uses power-point for notes in class, but all the notes are online. Bring your computer!! Lectures can get boring sometimes, but overall he's an awesome teacher. Tests are not too bad. Extra credit opportunities.

I only had Dr. Nosek for lab, but he made it fun! He actually socializes with his students and makes lab so much fun! I would recommend taking him. He's a great guy!

Great professor. My first semester at Winona, having already attended the University of Minnesota. He is better then their Biology Professors, and the best here. Definately my favorite. Smart, funny. friendly, helpful. First lab is a crime scene then each lab focuses on a different part of the investigation, very cool. Doc Nosek, you rock!

Funny, insightful, and very nice. I enjoyed his class very much. You don't really need to buy the book as long as you go over his notes online and pay attention in class you will do fine on the tests. Always go to lab! It's easy! I have an A so for and there are 2 more tests to go! Great guy!

awesome lab instructor... crystal clear... I hear his test are killer though I'm 4-5 weeks into the semester and I have a 95% in the class. The lab involves a hands-on "staff murder" investigation...very interesting! you must read the chapter before going to lecture or else there's no point in really going cuz you won't know what he's talking about

I love his teaching methods, and to top it off he's extremely funny. He can be intimidating, though- sometimes he makes you feel a little dumb for asking a question. For the most part, though, he's a great teacher and really easy to understand. Great in lab, too. Tests can be pretty hard, but don't wait till the last second to study! :)

I had him for lab an class hes a really nice guy. He likes to joke around with his students. His class isn't super easy you do have to study for his tests but he dose review sections before all the tests so if you try you can easily get a B or an A.

I had him for General Bio and 241, and he is AMAZING. He posts his lectures online so that you can follow what he's talking about, and he doesn't surprise you with random material! His lectures are easy to understand, & he is the greatest lab teacher ever. He's funny, and even though he's really smart he still knows how to relate to his students.

He is a GREAT professor. Grade is based off of Tests and Labs, if you study his notes you will be fine. Does offer the occasional extra credit. Loved him, classes are somewhat boring but that's just the material. I WOULD DEFINITLY RECOMMEND HIM!

Super easy class... you don't have to read a word out of the textbook - tests rae entirely on notes. Super nice guy - TONS of extracredit.. even though he likes to say he barely gives any. As long as you study the notes - and NOT the night before the test - you'll get an A in the class. Labs are also super easy and you still learn something. :)

Ask for help

Tests are difficult, need to study everytime you take notes in his lectures. Labs are pretty fun though, just make sure that your reports are in depth, his grading is a little tough. Don't bring your laptop to class, you need to write down what he says in order to follow along.

Not my favorite teacher in the world. What is expected of you is VERY clear - study the notes he gives you, word for word, and you can get an A on his tests. Labs aren't too bad. Biggest complaint of the class is that you wind up having 30+ pages of notes to memorize before a test, which is difficult to do unless you study for a long while.

Nosek's exam's are difficult in 241 compared to his 242 class. DO NOT BUY THE BOOK OR THE ONLINE VERSION!! All information for the exams can be found in outlines on D2L and he's really great at giving extra help if you ask. It's definitly a plus if he knows you by name!! This prof is amazing and fun even if his exams are a little difficult.

He's a good guy and gives extra credit! Do NOT buy the book! The only reasons you may need it is if you prefer reading the book or if you want to look at diagrams. The class is easy, as it is only in the 100s and is a lecture. However, STUDY your NOTES! Pay attention to class, as he mentions things for easy points on tests (like his dog's name!)

Awesome Professor. The material is pretty boring, but if you study his notes the tests aren't that bad. But make sure you study! This is not an easy A! And don't buy the book. I cracked it open about three times, just focused on his notes and got an A in the class.

Dr. Nosek is a good professor. His lectures are very straight forward and go by the book. He gives the lecture outlines to the class on D2L so you dont have to take any notes. His exams are based strictly on the powerpoint oulines in lecture. Only bad thing about the class is having to 30-40 pages to study before the exam. Good class overall!

He is one funny character! Make sure you study his powerpoint lectures since his exams are based right off of them. If you need help, he always has time for the students and just overall loves answering questions. There are some days where his lectures are slow, but then he goes and makes the class more enjoyable.

You learn a lot from Dr. Nosek. He can be frustrating when he brings his personal views into discussions (typically not a good thing), but you definitely learn from him. Be sure to ask ANY questions you have (he loves when you ask plus it helps you know what to study for exams). He's willing to work with students to accommodate to their requests

He's an awesome funny teacher. all of his exams are based on whats gone over in lecture and lab so its best to go to his classes...he gets to know his students so he'll probably know if you're not there so don't expect him to feel sorry for you if your failing and you don't go to class.

Nosek knows what he's talking about and all of the information is relayed in a very efficient manner. The tests were really hard and you definitely needed to study. He doesn't put out any reviews so make sure you know your stuff. We were able to use a cheat sheet on the final which helped quite a bit.

A great human being in general. Fun to be around and interact with, especially in lab. He will know you by first name or nickname eventually. Not easy - not hard, read, do the work, go to class, and that A will be yours. Funny, intelligent, and caring. Other reviews were helpful in selecting this professor over others. You'll have fun if you try!

I really enjoyed this class and would reccommend him to anyone who needs/wants to take a biology class. His exams only come from lectures and there is basically no work out of class/labs. You learn a lot and have a fun time in class.

One of the best bio professors this school has to offer. He is knowledgeable on his topics and will go the extra mile to help a student out. Not the easiest professor but go to class, study from the power points and you'll do fine. He is really friendly too he will know most everybodys name by the end of year. Honestly... The best teacher I have ever had at WSU. He is so helpful with any questions that you have. The tests are straight from his powerpoints and the textbook. He is also very funny and is fanstastic at explaining!! You really have to study but it is worth it.

He is a great teacher!!! He explains everything well and if you have questions...he loves them. You can feed him questions all day long.

Best bio teacher by far! He's really into teaching about his subject and likes to joke around with his students. Ask question because he loves it/keeps him in a good mood and you will obviously learn more. He doesn't really use the textbook which is fine because everything is from his slides. So i recommend printing them out then writing at class!

One of the coolest teachers in the science building. He's super funny and relatively nice (likes to pick on people) but in a good way. has review sessions before tests. Tests are pretty hard, but if you study you'll have limited problems.

John! My boy! He's crazy awesome! One of WSU'S best professors! I would really recommend him to all, makes lectures not so boring! He may pick on you, but that only means he likes you! Must attend Lab but not lecture. Tests are rather hard, but put the time in and you'll be fine! TEAM-JOHN!

John is one of the funniest people you will ever meet. He's very personal if you make an impression on him. Tests are hard so study, take notes, and attend classes. Over-all he's a man everyone should know!

He covers way too much in the 50 minutes we were given. His exams are almost impossible if you don't study for hours upon hours everyday a week prior. His lab is the easiest lab I've ever taken but worth almost no points compared to the exams.

Nosek is a really great person. He is funny and kind but he gets off track quite a lot and his exams are really difficult. Lab is a lot of fun and pretty easy but I wish it had been worth more points. You don't need the text book.

his 8 am's were rough and if he knows your name he will know if you skip or not. He doesn't grade on showing up to class but he did give one 8 am extra credit JUST for showing up so just go ! Yes his tests are hard but what college exam isn't ? take time to study and you will be fine (: TAKE HIM!!!

Hey fellow 185ers, Of course Nosek is hard. You want it dumbed down for you? Hell, you're gonna be teachers someday. And no, we can not all be above average. Duh. Nosek is great, and cares that you actually learn something. I was willing to work with him and he met me more than halfway.

Doc Nos is a great professor. He goes out of his way to reiterate concepts to his students. If you are ever stuck on a concept, he has plenty of office hours for further clarification. Held a review session prior to an exam. Study and you will do great! I wish he taught other courses. Great professor as well as person.

Doc Nosek was my favorite professor my first semester of college. He is very helpful and really makes biology more fun. If you have a chance to take his class take advantage!

Dr. Nosek was my first biology professor here at Winona, as a student who never did homework at home in high school it was really eye opening for me when I failed my first exam but through his help in what I needed to do I turned the semester around and aced the rest of my exam. Nosek is by no means an easy professor but he wants you to do well!

Nosek is a great professor! His tests are entirely from notes so study those like crazy. Not gonna lie, his tests are difficult but if you study continuously instead of cramming the night before you'll do great. If you have a 100% you don't have to take the final. Super funny guy. Good overall professor, was a relatively easy class to do well in, despite not having taken bio since freshman year of high school. Definitely expect to review material before tests, you will have to study for an A, but is very attainable. Does offer EC under some circumstances which helps as well.

He is by far one of the nicest and most down to earth professors. He is a tough grader, but is a fantastic teacher. Never touched the book all semester. If you follow his lectures you will be fine. Uploads all notes to be printed off if needed. Had his for lab as well and had a blast. I highly recommend taking this class.

Nosek is a fantastic teacher for Basics of Life 241. If you want to do well in the course you need to understand what was covered in lecture because that is EXACTLY what will be on the exams. Usually this means lots of studying outside of class.

Nosek is a funny and has an odd sense of humor. Make sure to know what his dogs and wifes name, they are extra credit on the test. Very lecture heavy and most of the material on the power points are on the exams.

Great professor and a super nice person. This class is very hard but I enjoyed it. He lets you make a cheat sheet for the final and if you have 100% before the final you don't need to take it.

He's such a great guy, and really finds a way to make lectures interesting.

Dr. Nosek is great! Super caring and really engages with his students. He may go fast through lecture, however he does have notes for each lecture on D2L you can follow along with him. Tests can be considered 'hard' but if you study and know major key parts of certain chapters, you will do fine. He tries to make people laugh and enjoy themselves.

Nosek is awesome. He cares about his students and wants them all to pass. You can tell he truly loves teaching biology. The class is very straightforward (based on 4 exams, 14 labs, and a final) and he provides his lecture notes, but they include a lot of information and will require quite some time outside of class to study. Take him!

He is very good guy, help and care his students, and always make the class mood good. He also gives students chance to correct their mistake.

Includes only what he teaches in lecture on the tests so I personally didn't use the textbook to study, only my notes. Has an amazing sense of humor which makes lecture and labs fun and exciting. Tests are a kind of difficult although if you take good notes and study them well then you'll be fine. He also has a very cute dog.

Nosek is a true gem however you really have to be in lecture in order to pass the tests given to you. All tests are based on how far he gets in the lecture, but don't be fooled the man can go through up to 80 slides of information in a 50 minute time-period.

Tough class but anyone who comes to class and puts in the work can succeed and will learn a lot. He puts notes from his lectures on D2L and the exams (multiple choice) are based entirely off of them. I would definitely recommend professor Nosak.

Doc is the bomb! He is hilarious and is one of the main reasons why I passed this class... and I was only in his lab! Very good at explaining things. A professor whose class I actually enjoy going to. Easy to ask questions to, and he really tries to learn your name, which is nice! He's so sweet. 12039572093/10 would recommend :)

I highly recommend! I had him for lab and even though biology is not my strong suit whatsoever, he really made lab entertaining and interesting. Hes extremely kind- the first week of class I noticed how he attempts to learn everyones name. It really makes you feel like part of an actual learning environment.

Dr. Nosek is a great guy and an equally good professor. Information on exams comes directly from his lectures (Attend class!!) and is very willing to review information, answer questions, and takes a personal interest in his students despite the large class size.

The powerpoints used in lecture were mostly from the book, and there was no work from the books. The grades were mainly from tests, he did offer extra credit, which was usually attendance. If you show up to class and pay attention its an easy grade, if you never show up you will struggle. And remember his dog's name.

Dr. Nosek made the class very interesting and fun. He knows a ton and has been all around the world. Uses a slideshow and goes pretty quick through it so be quick with your writing! Test heavy but if you show up for the review day and look back over the slides you'll do just fine.
