Such an amazing Book of Mormon class! Bro. Parker truly wants you to enjoy reading the Book of Mormon and not have it be a chore. The class is more discussion than lesson and he has a really good sense of humor. If I could take every religion class from Bro. Parker I would!
Keeps the class laughing. Loved the lessons and quotes he would incorporate for the reading blocks. It's all about feeling the spirit and less about the homework.
Brother Parker is amazing! He is smy only 7:45 class and I love his class so much i make sure I get up for it. Homework is not that much. He is super hilarious and is super good at teaching the gospel in a way that isnt boring. I would recommend taking him for religion.
He is an amazing teacher. He knows how teach BoM in the way that makes you wanna learn more. You know what im saying? The insights paper that is due every class is really helpful. It helped me to see what I'm learning from the class. He has got a great sense of humor and omg...I can't even explain. Just take him!!! He really cares about his students
He is AMAZING!!!!!! He is really concerned about you and how your doing. He is funny and he really makes the Book of Mormon understandable. There is no final, you put all of your notes into one word document and turn it in. You do get points for attendance but it's not that bad.
Brother Parker is an excellent teacher! He only cares about making sure you enjoy the class and learn more about the doctrine. He focused solely on learning, no tests or final. Daily assignments and class notes are due in a binder at the end of the semester. Easy.
Brother Parker is an awesome teacher! He makes class fun while learning a ton! The homework is super easy and there aren't any tests or quizzes. All you have to do is go to class and do your homework. I would take his class again in a heartbeat.
Brother Parker is absolutely fantastic! He really wants to help you succeed and so focuses more on the doctrine and the Spirit rather than tests and a difficult final. Every day in class was awesome and he always had great quotes and was able to make the class laugh. Take him!!
I really liked Bro Parker at the beginning of the semester, but over time his class became increasingly boring and I had to drag myself to go. He does have a great sense of humor and gets people laughing, but his knowledge of the gospel seems shallow and his class is always the same. It gets REALLY boring and redundant. Easy A as long as you go
Cool teacher. Just show up for class and do the homework and you get an A.
Great guy. Show up to class, take notes, submit your insight papers before each class, and keep track of all of your stuff. Easy A.
Brother Parker is one of the best professors I have had here! He is very nice and helpful and as long as you do all of your assignments you will get an A.
Bro. Parker was a great teacher! There are assignments due before every class, but they are pretty straight-forward. If you are on time to each class and do all the assignments you will get an A. There were no tests for this class. His lessons were insightful and enjoyable. Not a stickler on having phones in class.
His Family Foundations class is really good, I would highly recommend taking him. You have a lot of reading to do (Conference talks for homework), but thats basically it - no tests. You learn a lot during his class about the family and gender roles, and everything related to marriage and parenting. Very insightful.
Brother Parker is the best person to take family foundations from, no questions asked! all you have to do is show up and read no test, no papers, no notes one project but is super easy and you don't even turn it in to him you just share with someone in class. His style I think gives people a chance to get more out of it then just a grade.
Brother Parker is nice... Maybe too nice. I like teachers that can be forward and not all lovey dovey like most religion teachers are. I want to hear the doctrine. You will hear "I don't know" a lot. He knows the lesson plan very well but if you ask an inspirational question about doctrine he most likely wont have an answer for you you.
The lectures were amazing, very fun to hear personal stories and real life experiences.
The only reason I got an A- and not an A is because of attendance. There are no quizzes. For every class you do the block of reading and write the things you got out of it. It's super easy points, not hard at all. He's a great teacher that cares about you and how you are doing. He's animated- you will love his class.
Brother Parker is an awesome guy. His class is super easy, basically show up with the block read and you'll get an A. I wouldn't recommend taking a super early class, because that can lower your grade. He's awesome, hilarious, and he invites the Spirit. He understands and relates well to college aged students. He makes you want to be better.
Brother Parker is an AWESOME teacher. I've never had one that's so in tune with the spirit and overall such a great guy. Probably one of the most righteous men I've ever met. He's hilarious, will keep you laughing and is super understanding, non-judgemental and overall I got so much out of each and every class.
Brother Parker is seriously one of the best teachers I've ever had. He is super funny and always makes you laugh, but he's also very spiritual and grounded. He doesn't pretend he knows it all and when students ask a question that he doesn't know the answer to, he encourages them to find the answer.
He is one of the most energetic Professors I have ever had.
No tests, Easy insight paper for each reading. Easy A. You will learn so much in this class. Brother Parker is so knowledgable about the scriptures and always incredibly prepared for class. I love him, his teaching style, and his class!
I've loved my class with Bro. Parker, he makes class interesting and fun to be in.
Brother Parker is one of my favorite professors I've had. He is so insightful, and his classes help you learn SO much about the gospel without all the extra homework. The only assignments you have are some scripture reading and a super short paper about your thoughts based on the reading, which is actual to your benefit. He genuinely cares for you.
Brother Parker was able to keep me interested the entire semester and makes me wish I wasn't off track next semester. His preparation for his presentations are very visible. He loves the subject and his enthusiasm and honesty in the subject makes even the laziest of student to be interested. Do the little he asks and enjoy a great class!
Brother Parker is such an amazing guy. What I liked most about class is that I didn't feel overwhelmed with homework, so learning about the Gospel was so much better. Plus, he's a funny guy. I looked forward to going to his class everyday.
Brother Parker is awesome! He made class so much fun, and I never felt overwhelmed with homework. You can really tell he puts a lot of work into preparing his lessons. Plus he's funny, which makes class just even better. There is some reading, because well you're reading the scriptures. But overall, amazing class!
Brother Parker is awesome. He makes the class fun. Their is quite a bit of reading, but his lectures are always good. I would definitely take a class from him again if I could. The class isn't hard, as long as you stay on top of your assignments, and he is always willing to answer any questions that you might have.
Excellent teacher who gives inspiring lectures that make you want to be better. Very reasonable workload. Just write a short insight paper every class, which is just about what you learned and maybe some inspired questions or conference quotes. Otherwise, recite articles of faith, take notes, and go to class and that's it.
Brother Parker is a great professor. He is so humble, and is quick to say so when he doesn't have the answer to a doctrinal question. He assigns reading but it's not hard, and he prefers to shape his lectures around what the students want to know and learn rather than being preachy. I would definitely take him again given the opportunity.
Brother Parker is awesome! He is very funny, humble, and honest when he doesn't know the doctrinal answer to something. He has a deep knowledge and genuinely cares for his students. You do a lot of reading in the scriptures, but I think that's expected in a religion class. I definitely recommend Brother Parker.
Brother Parker is the best religion teacher on campus in my opinion! He's not one of those religion teachers who believes in a lot of tests and quizzes to learn. He is all about teaching with the spirit and just inspiring his students to do their best. I learned a lot and absolutely recommend him!
Brother Parker was my favorite this semester. He assigns small papers on the daily reading but they are super simple and really help you understand the scriptures. He makes it a point to let the spirit be the teacher in his class. And the spirit is very present in his classroom. You will love his class.
This is my second semester taking Religion from Parker and I haven't regretted it at all! He brings the spirit and relates every topic to you and your relationship with the Savior. What could be better? The work load is the best--as in you have an insight paper for each class and that's it. No tests. Take him, you won't regret it!
Br. Parker is my favorite religion professor thus far. He knows how to lead a class discussion while keeping everyone's attention, and also the spirit in the room. He is so accepting of everyone, their opinions, and is able to answer everyone's questions. The class load is fantastic, and allows you to focus on the teachings rather than the busywork
Brother Parker is such a great teacher. I took his class twice and enjoyed each of them. He is super funny and the homework that is assigned is very little. The final is all of the homework assignments you did in the semester and class notes. Your classmates "grade" your final and count what you did and you're good! I highly recommend him!
Brother Parker is a great guy and is guided by the Spirit. The first month of this class was amazing. After a while though it got kind of redundant. The homework is the same exact prompt every single class, just a new topic. I found it kind of difficult to get something out of the assignments after a while. His lectures are super great though.
This teacher is terrible. He makes you feel bad about yourself and makes sure to point out your flaws. He drives me nuts. His class is easy enough, but if you want a teacher to get along with, this is not the man.
Easiest class, yet most spiritual class you could ever take. Took him twice in a row. The best.
Tries to be funny. I wouldn't fall asleep. A paper due each class but he doesn't look at your work. No final, just all the papers due in one. Looks like Carlton Lassiter from PSYCH but has the opposite personality.
Brother Parker is my favorite religion teacher I have ever had. His expectations are clear, and not hard to meet. He does an amazing job teaching about the Bible, and makes it interesting. He's funny, personable, and very understanding. I would highly recommend taking his class.
Brother Parker will answer any questions at the beginning of every class. It leads to good discussion. There is a short insight paper due before every class, and you have to take class notes. That's the only homework. Great teacher. Funny. The kind of religion teacher that makes you want to learn more.
Brother Parker's class was so spiritually uplifting. The class was filled with interesting discussions. He gives it to you straight and actually cares about the student's comments on the topics discussed. His experience with the church provided me with an interesting perspective on the doctrine discussed. Super nice, really funny, genuinely cares.
Brother Parker was one of my favorite professors this semester. Every class he started out by asking if we had any questions. He teaches by the Spirit, & I have loved every one of his classes. He makes going to a 7:45am class worth it. He's very enthusiastic. I loved his stories and object lessons he'd occasionally do.
Best FDREL275 teacher. Literally the easiest course on campus. You just read a few passages of scripture, then write a insight "paper" that can literally be 2-3 sentences before every class period. He definitely cares about the class, and readily admits his class is super easy. Compared to Brother Anderson's class for FDREL250, it's a cakewalk.
I felt like he understands the importance of religion classes in a school setting. He doesn't force anything on you other than a brief reflection paper/reading and lots of love. He runs his lectures based on the needs of the class and always testifies of the Savior. Enjoyable if you go ready to participate and ready to learn from the Spirit.
He listened and understood when I accidently forgot to turn in assignments. On the final, for example, I forgot to write a summary and he allowed me to send it in online as long as it was turned in by the end of the day.
He really focuses on keeping the religion class a space where the spirit is felt. He doesn't grade harshly on any level, all you have to do is show up and turn in your assignments and you will get an A. Each lecture is well prepared and you can really tell he cares about the material he is teaching. Definitely taking another class from him.
Brother Parker is a teacher that I understand. There are some religion teachers that go too fast for me or go too deep in doctrine, but he will go as fast as the students need and only goes as deep as we ask him to so everybody can understand and gain insight from the class.
Best religion teacher. He keeps doctrine simple, but I learned more from this class than any other religion class. You have to do is a short prep assignment for each class, and take notes in class, but no word count, it can be as short as you want. Your final is turning in all your prep assignments and notes compiled. Definitely take this class!!
I normally don't rate professors, but Brother Parker is amazing! He truly cares about his student's success and I have learned so much this semester from his lectures. All you have to do write a short 1 page paper before every class over the reading (which is super easy) and show up to class. Easiest A and you get a lot out of it! HIGHLY recommend.
Oh goodness what can I say?? This man is the best! He is by far the most wonderful, understanding religion teacher I have ever had. Every class period, more than half of class he would just have students ask questions and offer insights. Amazing. I love him so much that I actually am taking more of his classes! You wont regret taking his class!!!!!
To put it simply, there is a reason this is the 5th time I've taken a class from Brother Parker. I love how his classes are geared to teach you to study the scriptures in a meaningful way. He sets up class to resemble something similar to institute rather than a high intensity college course. I 100% recommend him!
Best religion professor I have EVER had. He is amazing! If you show up and do the prep work, easy A and you feel the spirit!!
I really like Brother Parker. I felt like compared to other professors I have taken he had a perfect balance between required work and non-required work. I never felt rushed. The work load is easy which allows you to focus on the Spirit and not just getting credit. The Spirit is present in class. Really humble nice guy who is very approachable.
I actually liked Bro. Parker. He's a good guy and I really enjoyed going to his World Religions class twice a week. There's a lot of reading before each class, but it's pretty easy. You do have to prepare a portfolio for the class throughout the semester and complete two projects, but Bro. Parker's flexible about how you want to complete them.
Bro. Parker's teaching is unmatched. His lessons are engaging, he throws in a few jokes once in awhile, and he really goes into depth with the material. Not only does he teach the doctrine of the gospel, he also throws in some of his own opinions as well and makes it very clear to not take it as doctrine. He is very accomidating for special needs.
He is such an amazing professor. If you do not show up to class, it will be very difficult to get the grade that you want. He is super passionate about whatever he teaches, and I can tell that he cares deeply for each of his students. If I could give him a 10/5, I definitely would. If you are not a morning person, this class can be rough.
Brother Parker is super knowledgeable in the gospel. He could pull up a scripture reference to almost anything in a matter of seconds! There is a paper due each class, but it's very easy.
He makes his classes interesting, and lets you decide what you want to learn about. That being said, any religion class, as long as they are the cornerstones required, is an easy A as long as you write your papers every week.
Only religion teacher on campus worth taking. He's down-to-earth, open-minded, and easy to talk to. Yes, he has dad humor, but he's easy to play off of. Homework is simple and straightforward. Just pay attention, it's that easy.
Brother Parker is by far the easiest professor out there. His midterm was just to meet with him for a five minute conversation and get extra credit. He has interesting stuff to share. I wish it was more of a discussion based class but he doesn't really use class involvement. But it is an easy A for sure.
Had to write 2 papers per week on top of the 4+ full chapters of scripture required per class... Yeah he is entertaining and spiritual in class, but if you don't keep up with all the papers or have to miss class a couple times your grade will tank.
Bro Parker is a really cool and understanding guy. He's pretty small town, so I didn't agree with some of the things he said, but I always love to hear different opinions! There's quite a bit of reading, but he grades super kindly. I would totally recommend taking his class:)
He is super awesome! He has such a great perspective and cares so much about each individual student. He is concerned about helping each student develop their testimony of Christ. He focuses on the basics that matter most! Amazing professor and person in general!
A well-rounded, engaging, inspirational teacher!! Love this guy!
Bro. Parker is amazing. He genuinely cares about his students and has such a strong testimony. His lessons are wonderful! he does a lot of discussions and really caters the content to our questions and interests. He spices things up every now and then with object lessons that are engaging. would take this class a million times again!
My all time fav religion prof. He is open and understanding, and is so respectful towards all religions you study in this class. Wish I could take this class from him again! Pretty easy assignments but you learn a lot. Take 351 or any of his classes & you won't regret it!
Brother Parker is an exceptional teacher of the Restoration! He keeps 7:45 class interesting, engaging, and very spiritual. He's energetic, funny, and a good listener. If you are willing, you'll get a lot out of his class.
Brother Parker is very caring and understanding. His class was super easy and as long as you do the two assignments each week it should be an easy A, but it's a lot of reading to do. He is very energetic and got the class to participate, even at 8 am.
Very willing to help. I made the mistake of picking a really early class time, so I would tend to sleep in and accidentally miss class. He was kind enough to reach out to see if I was doing alright.
He is the greatest! We had the best gospel discussions and he was the best!
Seriously the best professor for this class! He had great experiences to share and his lessons were amazing! He is very passionate about the topic and loves to teach. Homework load was not heavy, just had to read a few things to prepare for class and 2 quick & easy projects! Highly recommend for couples or someone about to be married!
I love when he throws the marker at the projector screen XD
Brother Parker was very energetic and made class fun and enjoyable. He is very spiritual and strong in his faith and used that to make class better for everyone.
BEST religion teacher ever!! He makes class so much fun! They assignments before class aren't hard at all. When he is teaching you learn so much! I would take a religion class from him ever semester if I could because he is that good!
This class has been absolutely amazing! Should be required for everyone honestly! He presents material that is respectful and has helped me in my own testimony! Attendance is required and you do have readings before every class but they are so interesting! There is no busy-work and everything is so relevant. Would 100/10 recommend taking his class.
Brother Parker is one of the best religion professors out there! This class has been so helpful! I would definitely recommend takin it. You learn so much, and he makes it really fun along the way. Definitely take his class if you can!
I have so much respect for Brother Parker...he's loves what he does and you can feel it in the room. I learned so much in this class and he really strives to help us learn about the gospel and develop our testimonies. Take. This. Class.
Now I know what you are thinking, how is this an easy class if I got a C. Well its because I had taken this spring semester and was lazy and did not put in as much work as I should've. (Oops) ANYWAYS, Brother Parker is super funny. You will enjoy his class for sure. There are a lot of papers but you get what you put in.
I absolutely loved this class, I would take it again. Brother Parker loves the gospel, he loves what he teaches and he loves the Lord. He puts his all into his work and it shows. The energy and spirit he brings to the room is evident to anyone paying attention. Plus he's hilarious, love this guy. Definitely take the class if you can.
I LOVE brother Parker! He makes class enjoyable and is hilarious when teaching. He shows his love for the gospel and makes his teachings spiritual and inspirational. He always answers questions and makes you feel comfortable asking questions. He truly cares for his students and wants each one to succeed.
Brother Parker is a good teacher, he gets very excited about what he's talking about and it shows. He always takes time to answer your questions. His personality made me personally zone out sometimes, but overall he is a really good teacher.
I like my religion teachers to acknowledge hardship in a little bit more of a reverent way. But Brother Parker seems to be a nice guy,
John Parker is uncomfortable with nuance and discussion about LDS material that doesn't fit into his biased views. Keeping everyone in a bubble is his idea of teaching a religion class. If you are a freethinker in any way, you will despise this class. It is uncomfortably--even infuriatingly positive and ignorant. Faith crises will be WORSENED here.
Brother Parker reignites the spark of studying the gospel each and every day. I absolutely adored his slideshows he made for each lecture. You can tell this professor has a deep care for his students and their learning, and he holds a deep connection with the Savior and His doctrine. He loves the scriptures and wants you to as well.
Not a crazy amount of homework, just some readings and writing a small paper on what you learn. Brother Parker is hilarious and I love the way he taught the gospel. You can tell he loves the Savior and what he teaches.
TAKE THIS CLASS FROM HIM! BROTHER PARKER IS AMAZING! He knows so much about the various World Religions. The readings before class are a little hefty, however, I learned SO much! No tests and 3 easy projects. Lots of notes, but the topics are awesome! He is funny, caring, and very informed! I HIGHLY recommend taking this wonderful class from him!!!
Bro. Parker has been the nicest teacher I've met so far! He's really understanding (I struggled with my grades that semester and he was really kind). His class is super easy, it just requires you to submit things on time and be consistent with your attendance. Assignments can be done in like 40 minutes
He is awesome, I would recommend him if you could for every religion class you can take.
Br. Parker is awesome. He loves people who participate. He loves comments and questions. The "homework" isn't really homework. He just wants us to study. He makes a ton of jokes, especially about marriage and dating. He makes references to dating and marriage at least once per class. Personally, I find it super funny and awesome. I love his jokes.
If you're looking for a class where you will learn a lot, laugh, have about 30 minutes of homework a week and basically a guaranteed A, then Brother Parker is for you. His class is meaningful and well-organised. All he cares about is making sure we feel the spirit in his class. No final or big assignments. Only a short paper is due before class.
I LOVE Brother Parker! His class was easy and I learned a lot. He is also pretty funny and a silly guy. His "lectures" are great. He creates 40 slides just to use a few because in the end of the day it's about us and what we want to discuss!! You write insight papers after each class, but they are pretty easy to do. Definitely take his class :D
Brother Parker is the best teacher I have had. His lessons have helped me grow a stronger testimony of the Savior. The assignments aren't hard at all and he cares more that you're learning something about the Savior than meeting word counts for your insight papers.
Brother Parker is awesome!! He makes sure that everyone can understand the topic we are going through, especially when talking about Jesus Christ; he gives his best to solve any questions or concerns. He brings very insightful thoughts and helps everyone willing to ask and receive help.
