Professor Payne is so cool! He is dedicated, and goes out of his way to help his students. While a true intellectual, he also makes class fun, and teaches students WHY politics is important to all of us. His tests and quizzes are all take home, and he does not require a term paper. I am so glad I took him, and so glad San Jac hired him!

Great professor and an even better human being. Grades based off of how you improve. Never see anything on quizes/exams that he doesn't mention in class. Lecture is more like a conversation between equals rather than someone just trying to shove a curriculum down your throat. If you take him, no matter your class goals, you will be successful.

Professor Payne has great lectures and discusses issues with us. His article reports were probably the hardest things we had to do all semester and they were still super easy.

Professor Payne was a great professor! He made Texas Government because of his personality and he made it seem like two people talking rather than lecturing to the class. The texbook is very important for this class because he uses take home quizzes and a take home final and all the answers are in the textbook. Easy A if you have the textbook.

This guy is a great online prof! He is always there to help, and he grades assignments quickly so you always know where you stand. I asked him to meet me on campus to discuss how I can improve my grade. Not only did he get me back on track, but he is also an advisor too. He helped me register for the summer. He really cares for his students.

I highly recommend this as an online class. The expectations were very clear and Mr. Payne was very responsive to emails. As long as you do the work on time you should have no trouble passing.

His class consist of 2 weekly assignments: an 2.5 page analysis article report (easiest type of essay in my opinion), and a 10 question quiz with extra credit questions. His lectures are interesting and gives more outside information to the textbook information. And I hate hate essays so if I can A+, you can too, I promise.

I wish I could of chosen more tags because I would of chosen way more than three. Theres no words to express how amazing this professor is. His knowledge and expertise is beyond impeccable and is very great at what he does. I loved that he didnt teach from pp or read from a book. You wont regret him. Super easy. Not much hw at all.

I recommend taking his class. He made Texas government interesting and he does not read off of power points like all other professors do. All quizzes and final exam were to be typed and stapled to be turned in a week in class. You need the textbook for the quizzes. He is very understandable and caring.

In my entire collegiate career, Professor Payne was by far my favorite teacher. He lectures in an engaging way that makes government a class to look forward to. John Payne is an amazing professor. He didn't stack up assignments in our faces at once, he made sure that we had time for every assignment. The textbook will be used for assignments that are at home. He explains everything with detail, unlike most professors.

Took professor John Payne online, and can honestly say he was really good. Never had any trouble, and he provided awesome feedback. As long as you do your weekly assignments, you are guaranteed to make a very good grade. He is always available to his students, and responds very fast.

Professor Payne made learning about the government interesting! A lot of his answers are straight from the textbook (which he allows you to use on tests/quizzes) and he will give you credit if he knows you're trying your best to understand what's going on. Very helpful and thorough, always willing to work with you if you need it!

Professor Payne is one of my favorite professors. This class isn't just an easy A, you will learn so much! Show up to class and submit your work and you will get an A! Loved this class 10/10 recommend. Very easy!! I took it online for 12 week course. Went by very fast can finish it even before that. Always sending reminders. 4 essay test(just by doing them you get 100) , 14 discussion boards/quizzes, and final exam! Very very easy passed with an A!! Gives extra credit opportunities twice.

Professor Payne is very knowledgeable and willing to help every student. Discussion boards every week as well as a small quiz. Throughout the semester you will be given 4 essay tests, just put in the time while following simple directions to get an A. Sends out weekly emails of encouragement and a weekly layout. TAKE THIS PROFESSOR IF YOU CAN!!!!

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful professor Payne is. He cares so deeply about his students and is working quite literally around the clock to grade and make announcements and send super encouraging emails. He also leaves feedback on almost every assignment. His class is really straight forward and was fun to be in and listen to.

Professor Payne is very clear and thorough, and he makes himself available to the students both as a resource of knowledge but also showing that he cares about you and your success in his class. The material can be complicated at times but he makes it relevant to you. You do have to put in some effort but you will not fear passing his class.

The workload wasnt too much just read the textbook, do the quizzes, DBs, and essay tests. Theyre pretty easy if you actually do the work but it can end up being hard if you fall behind. Overall I really liked his class.

Prof. Payne is amazing. PLEASE take his classes. He truly cares about quality education. I am a single mom of 3 and he was able to work around sick kids and my needing to miss class at time. He also gives extra credit ops. I took his honors course and it was an easy A for honors credit. Some reading is needed but can be done in 1 hr or less.

This class was an easy A. He's a good guy and responds quickly. Only thing is his lectures aren't very.. good. I had to teach myself this class. Other than that his class is EASY. Quiz every week along with a discussion board, 3 essay tests (easy), one paper, a graded debate, and an easy final exam. Also so so much extra credit.

MY FAVORITE PROFESSOR! Just do your work, turn it on time and your good to go! Usually everything is due by Sunday! Just make sure you do your discussion boards and answer to your two classmates and you easily get a 100!

I cannot understand why San Jac will not renew this man's contract. He is the BEST professor I have ever had here. I did some looking around - it seems as if the bosses do not like his political beliefs. He NEVER shared those with us! He is a patriot, and deserves to be here.
