John Peter Paul is an amazingly insightful man. He purposely says outrageous things to make his class think and become more active. His classroom style is bit more of a lecture rather than tons of homework. He doesn't expect everyone to be perfect and is lenient with attendance. I would recommended this teacher to anyone.

I'm pretty sure he is crazy. Always mentioning how he gets kicked out of Pubs. He also likes to bash religion, and a lot of other things. He has very strong opinions. In the beginning of the semester he picked on everyone's names or nationality. lol well Even after all that I still liked this class.

He's a real kind of guy. He wants to challenge the way you see the world. Great personality. Really friendly and very upfront with wiseguys. Extreme lectures, very passionate about the subject. You are responsible for reading the textbook. He shows powerpoint slides for each chapter. Write fast! 3 critical questions to answer in groups, very easy.

Wonderful, yet crazy, personality. As a required class he made it a lot more interesting than it has ever been to me. I learned a lot considering his off-topic rants. This is a perfect class for those who aren't into history but would like to learn in a pretty easy and pretty basic way. Mostly lecture but easy w/ textbook. So much fun to listen to.

He is an excellent professors who manages toi keep your interesting. He is brilliant, knows what he is talking about and he can engage students in insightful conversations. Probably one of the best professors I've ever had.

I took Prof. Paul's Western Civ II class and got a A in it. He is a great teacher, rambles a bit, but he is really funny when he does, and you learn a bit about his past in the US Marines and other parts, but in general, he is very passionate about the class. I reckon you ought to take him! Just read the book!!!

He's easy to pass, but you'll find yourself going to his classes because he does such a good job captivating his audience. I'm planning on taking Western Civ 2 just because he makes the topic so interesting. Very knowledgeable and helpful if you have any questions. Reccomended.

if you don't like group projects, i probably wouldn't take him. Starting fall 08 there is going to be 6 group projects per semester. Enthusiastic professor but gets a little off topic sometimes. Nice guy. I received an A. He doesn't say it in the syllabus but if you dont come to class he docks you a letter grade down.

Was excellent with communication, I would email him at 3 in the morning and he replied in minutes. Also helpful in so many manners. He was always willing to get problems solved and he was determined to provide as much knowledge for the class as possible. I'm so happy that I had him as my first college professor.

Easy to understand Teacher. Gives answers to the reviews he gives you so you just have to do the studying. Uses Powerpoints he makes accessible on his homepage for your study preferences. IF you show up to class and decide to leave that day too many times he will get pissed off because he'll think you are a slacker. he has about 3-4 tests.

An absolute character! I loved him! He was so much fun in class. The lectures are off a power point, and that gets boring...but he makes the class interesting. Tests are right from the reviews. Easy enough. Very good class. Highly recommended.

As someone with absolutely no interest in History, this class was something I dreaded until the first day. This professor is inspiring, dynamic, and entertaining. He makes history accessible and relevant. He genuinely cares about his students and it shows. I would recommend him to anyone and intend to take as many of his courses as possible.

JPP is an entertaining teacher who is actually involved in the subject and his students. Pay attention to how many times he makes up words and swears, it's better than television! Always show up for the review, they're very helpful!

I had West Civ 1, and taking West Civ 2 this spring semester.Great teacher,last semester was very easy,come to class when we have a map test and study guides and you will pass.Although he said he is changing up his style on teaching, Reaction Papers, In class disscusions, participation will count as a grade.imo i cant wait for this semester. LEARN!

Favorite professor at SCF. Extremely down to earth, and truly cares about his students, and understands that life happens. VERY passionate about history and loves to share with all his students! There is one test a week on the computer 15 questions very easy. as long as you listen. AMAZING professor, wish they were all like John Peter Paul.

Thje best dam teacher ever

Whether he's jumping up on his desk or darting between maps in the classroom, there is never a dull moment in John Peter Paul's classroom. He is so dedicated to the subject, and teaches it with such a passion that you can't help but also become involved with it. He has an excellent sense of humor, and is an all-around great teacher. "Period."

Highly intelligent individual who will get in-between your ears and make you think. I loved his class. There is really no reason not to get an A. Tests are online and all questions can be found straight out of the book. Map quizzes in class consist of memorization. Such a chill teacher but don't take advantage of his generosity as he's sensitive.

Took it in summer A. Each week had 2 tests 15 questions each multiple choice, 90 min timed. Questions right out of the book. He provided us a quide study. 2 essays and 2 map tests. Gave us opportunity to earn extra credit. This is definitely the class to take in the summer to help out with GPA.

John Peter Paul is a wonderful professor. If you want a history teacher that actually brings life to a class then choose him. He has very good intentions and will not turn down anyone for help. HONESTLY one of my favorite professors Ive ever had. He does not have an ego unlike some others may have said, it is just his humor. He Makes Learning FUN!

John Paul really inspired me to take a better look at the human condition. To learn more about history. He's a great teacher, and wants every student to reach their potential. Class grade consists of 3 inclass map tests. Online Chapter quizzes, one research paper on topic in history, and one art history presentation. I highly recommend him.

Great online teacher! I am taking him again, as he is very clear in what he expects. Do the work and follow directions.Sometimes online classes are unclear and hard to understand but he makes it very clear. I never en had to email him to ask a question. Be on top of what he expects of you and you will be fine!

I took this class not expecting much. just your run of the mill history stuff. I was WRONG. Paul is on my top 5 list of professors I have ever had. Very smart and loves what he does. brings issues Americans tend to "sweep under the rug" to students attention. He's crazy in a good way. Now I refer to cool awesome crazy people as "J.P.P's"

I took his online class but from what I hear I wish I could have taken him on campus! I took his online class during the summer and there was a lot of reading but there is only like 10 true or false quizzes after each chapter and only two discussion posts. Very easy ; got an A. He is also very helpful!!!

I took him for both West Civ. 1 & 2, he's very passionate about what he teaches, and gets better each semester. Easy quizes, but his lectures are brilliant and make you want to learn. The quizes are mostly based of the book. And he grades fair, and is always up for discussion.

JPP is honestly probably the best professor at SCF. He is so very personable and actually cares about his students. JP is the man. he is funny, keeps your attention, and loves all of his students. he makes his history course something that I was looking forward to, every day. highly recommend everyone takes a class with JP at least once! would take him again, any day!

Took Western Civ II online, cool class, consists of chapter exams which are open book and open note and allow retakes. Assignments are really easy, allows retakes on everything.

Professor JPP is so funny! Even if you are not interested in Western Civ directly, just go because it is not a hard class at all! He has very interesting lectures. You have 5 papers to write the whole semester that you get 100 on just for turning it in. He keeps you interested the whole time and is not boring at all.

At first I thought the class was going to be a joke because so many classes are cancelled but all for good reason. This class is an amazing class to take at SCF! John Paul does not focus on students cramming history dates in their head but rather making his lectures fun and memorable. He is very knowledgeable and loves teaching!

He really describes the History of World War II and the Holocaust in a way the class would understand. He brings history into real life examples. Get all of the books he asks you to get. NOT expensive at all Only 5 Reaction papers and a research paper.. It is a Gordon Rule class though So go in depth in your papers.

He is hilarious and knows how to keep students interested. Great lectures, he really cares about students and making a difference. Should be mandatory for all SCF students to take because he incorporates life lessons into history lectures
