Mr. Philcox is good teacher, his notes are always on the internet for you to look at. He's funny, but his tests can be challenging. He gives reviews but then tend to be extremely general. Ec sometimes. For tests I would suggest looking over all chapter assessments. His "excersices" in class, to help us better understand the material, are funny.

Professor Philcox is a really great guy. He'll help you as much as he can and give you tips if you ask him. His test arent that bad just as long as you look over the chapters. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunites. If you real this prof philcox (its nick) thanks for everything:)

He's a mix between Mr. Rogers and Barney (from the Andy Grifth Show) he's very nice, and helpful. There's homework every now and then...and there's always 10 pts. of extra credit on each test. ^^

He is really nice and understanding. This class is very easy b/c all of the tests come straight from his notes!! Plus, you do not even have to take notes b/c you can get all of them off of his website!! He also gives extra credit essays...I got a total of 115 e.c. points for them and they were SO easy to do!! thats more than a test grade!

I definetely recommend this class and professor. His class is very entertaining and lectures will help to understand the chapter more. But you have to read on your own! Reading the chapters is vital in order to pass the test. There is a lot of class participation and he makes the class enjoyable.

great teacher, he does a little to much of what he calls excersises. But he knows what he is talking about, and he knows everything about this course, awsome teacher, but just be prepared for lots of notes, and lots of survey type excersises. they are fun but get to be too much.

He's such a nice man and he is absolutely the best grader in the world. He gave us extra credit opportunity for up to 125 points. HERE's THE DRAWBACK: attendance is absolutely mandatory, 3 strikes you're out. His lectures are incredibly boring and he assigns as much as two homework assignments per week. If you don't mind then I would recommend him.

Had him for Developmental Psych. Basically an easy class, though attendance is MANDATORY and the tests are quite long. Can get a little dry with PowerPoint lectures each class but he is a very sweet, helpful man with experience. I got an A without having to study an extreme amount. Do the study guides- they'll help a lot.

Very good teacher, nice guy, is very clear and helpful with everything. Tests are not that difficult, but not that simple. But as long as you do your work you will be fine. Plus he gives extra credit bonus papers that are 25 points, and if you do those, then you will be set. Fun and interesting class!

John Philcox is a really good teacher. Their are plenty of worksheets and a project to do for his class that makes the students busy. In his class you will learn. He is the GREATEST teacher I've ever taken. The class is very interactive and he teaches in many different styles. Mr. Philcox shoots straight, he knows his stuff and won't boar you. He wants everyone to do well but won't give up the grades for a pretty face. Show up to learn and be a constructive part of class and you should have no trouble getting an A. You will write a bit but it is just to keep you interested. He makes old school cool. again.

Philcox is nice, says things with a funny accent. His class requires work. You sit in class and go over notes, and have group activities which is the easy part. He gives out homework, which is due on Sundays at 11:30. You have a research paper, about 3-4 tests and extra credit papers. All of his work requires good research. Overall nice guy.

Very understanding professor. He uses different teaching techniques each class to really get the info through to you. I'd def. recommend him. I took him in the summer for a short term and received an A. He's one of those professors that remember your name the first day. It's not hard, but you need to read the material and he does attendance.

Hes the cutest old man ever but so energetic! You will learn so much in his class, you dont need to buy the text book he does everything on powerpoint which is accesible to you. He has a lot of energy but you do not grasp as much information, he made sociology so hard and difficult. He made it very boring, fail many of his test. Good thing is he give alot of extra credit, piles alot of papers every week 1-2 papers if not more.

For Abnormal Psy online each weekly module consists of least one research paper, sometimes two, then a discussion in which you have to post your own & respond to 4 others, a quiz, and sometimes an exam. There's an excessive amount of work, but he is a pretty easy grader once the work is done and he does provide extra credit research papers.

I HAD THE BEST EXPIRIENCE ! I LEARNED SO MUCH, AND HE IS SO COOL. NICE AND FRIENDLY AND FUNNY AT TIMES. GIVES PRENTY OF EXTRA CREDIT FOR AND EASY A BUT EXAMS ARE 100 QUESTIONS LONG.

Very nice teacher, but honestly incredibly boring. A lot of the things on tests/quizzes are not really gone through, though are in book. If you don't read it, you'll probably pass with extra credit. Weekly online quiz and writing assignment with few exceptions. Generous grader. Would take a class with him again, but not this one.

Definitely loved this professor. Knew what he was talking about, has a lot of amazing stories from different places he's worked, very interesting man. Easy easy easy class! Gives a lot of extra credit. Impossible to fail! I got Ds on all my tests, but with all the extra credit made an A in the class.

He's the nicest and most understanding teacher I have had in College. 4 test through out the course (lowest test score is dropped) Homework is once a week, fairly easy (1pg. paper and 10-20question quiz). He also gave a total of probably 7 extra credit assignments. I missed my final and he was considerate enough to let me retake it. LOVE HIM!!!

He is a really nice professor. You have 3 regular exams and he drops the lowest one. On top of that he gives 4 extra credit essays that are worth 25 points each. Then you have the final, which I finished in 24 minutes it was only 50 multiple choice questions. I highly recommend using the study guides. I go an A easily in this class.

Philcox is great! He's such a nice guy and makes jokes. He does powerpoints during class, there are also weekly quizzes and writing assignments, but it is all easy to complete. I never got above a B on the tests, but he offers so much extra credit you can make over a 100% without doing superbly on the tests and quizzes. Take him!

Prof. Philcox is the most caring prof i have had at valencia. always willing to answer any questions. emails you back asap and really cares. makes everything interesting and clear when things are due. EVERYTHING is due sunday at midnight. his tests are hard but he gives you a study guide with everything you need. gives extra credit too! great prof!

He's extremely nice and very laid back. Essay due every sunday but only a 1pg long. Test long, but easy to study for with study guide. Jokes around a lot, just a lot of note taking. Awesome teacher!

Nice and accommodating, but there's no point in coming to class because everything is covered in the book. The class is easy, but the weekly "writing papers" have nothing to do with what is actually covered in class. Randomly calls on students during lectures for questions, which can get tiring / annoying.

Incredibly easy, but also incredibly dry & boring. Reads off of PowerPoints which are available online so going to class is pointless. However attendance is mandatory so enjoy being bored to death. Essays & quizzes due every Sunday night. Tests are long & hard; a lot of the material is not covered in class. Tons of extra credit though.

Super nice & knowledgable, dry humor, interesting class. HEAVY workload: 1-2 page papers a week on broad topics & weekly online chapter quizzes. Does not give a break from HW when there is an exam. This class is a rather easy A, if that's what you're looking for. However, class is extremely boring as he randomly calls on students, and the material covered in class is in the book. (ie: the book pretty much IS the class) There are weekly papers and quizzes due online. They are easy but tedious.

Listen, this professor has SO much to offer. He's had a ton of experience, and has an endless amount of information. I took his hybrid class and I never wanted to skip it. He's a blast. The homework is time consuming, but it's beyond easy. The book isn't needed. TAKE HIM.

The class is okay, he talks and you read the powerpoint slides. He has great stories and some jokes. Can drag at times, while other times it is interesting. The work load is heavy if you have a job. Lots of quizzes and reading from the textbook as homework (about an hour or so to finish). There are also essays. Extra credit is offered.

Philcox is great I took him for General psychology as a hybrid class and ended the class with 113% it had to get lowered lol. He's a great person, funny as well. It is a lot of work but there is extra credit offered. My class attendance policy was that you could miss two classes without it affecting your grade.

This class wasn't my favorite as I was expecting to learn more about criminal behavior rather than the justice system. I still enjoyed most of the lectures and Tony is a great person with many stories. He offers a lot of extra credit and it really boosts your grade. I LOVED this proffessor, he had a clear schedule on due dates and graded so quickly. He gave AMAZING feedback, he would write a pargagraph. He was ridiculously nice. There were some timely assignments but they were easy. The tests werent difficult if you read your textbook. 100% recommend you take him!

Prof. Philcox is what happens when you cross an NCIS TV show investigator with someone's ideal white grandpa. He will mention a story of meeting Ted Bundy, and a story about his grandkids in the same class. He's super knowledgeable about pretty much any psychology topic. Just turn in your work.

I took him for the summer A term and I LOVED HIM. He has a clear grading system and puts in grades fairly quickly. Very knowledgeable and caring about teaching. It is easy to get an A if you do your work and put in the effort. A fair amount of homework was given each week but they were easy. Do your work and show up.

Took this class over the summer as a 6 week class, he's an amazing professor gives extra credit and answers to messages quickly. Its an easy A as long as you do all your work and don't slack off. I wish he taught developmental phycology because I would take him again without a doubt

He is absolutely fantastic! I took him for forensic psychology and Im obsessed with it! He brings in lots of great guest speakers and you learn so much from it! All of the papers that he gives you seem like a lot but it really isnt bad. He never gives busy work and I love how you learn a ton just by doing the papers. Five stars!!

There were activities almost every class which was always fun. But there was one paper every week. Only one page each and he was an easy grader but it always felt like a lot to do along with the weekly homework and quizzes. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

Professor John goes out of his way to help his students understand phycology. He gives out good example through out his teaching. He is really clear on what he asks for. He also has many extra credit opportunities. His assignments are a quiz, chapter from learn smart, and a paper every week. He also has 4 bonus papers! He prepares you for exams!

You get a total of 4 100 questions about once a month for the semester. But he goes with the material very thorough with class participation. He helps keep the students focused, interested, and comfortable. Has great humor and I greatly admire him. If you want to learn this subject or you are going to be a psychology major, take him. Extra credit.

Professor Philcox is an amazing teacher who holds very interesting and inspirational lectures. He makes references to the real world which makes it easy to understand. He gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit that will bring your grade up a lot . I did not do well on the exams (70-75) and I still got an A in the end. TAKE HIM!

If you decide to take this professor, know that to pass this class, you're going to have to work for it. Every week there's at least four assignments (Reflection Posts, Chapter Learnsmart, Paper and a Newsflash) due every Sunday by 11 PM. If you wait until 7 PM to start these assignments, you won't finish completing them. There is extra credit!

This is my second time taking one of his classes. He is an amazing teacher, gives always long and caring feedback, quickly responds to emails, and there is always tons of extra credit that he offers. You don't just learn to pass the class, with him you'll learn for life.

I loved this class. Forensic psychology is interesting but Professor Philcox makes it even more interesting. He has a lot of personal stories that he shares about his time involved with criminals and psychology. There are 3 assignments that are due on Sunday each week, super easy just read the book. While Professor Philcox will pile a load of work on you, the work is actually engaging and very insightful! I didn't care much for intro to psych going into it, but the more I learned, the more intrigued I was. I didn't mind putting in the work because I learned so much. He is a great professor! He will give you great feedback on assignments and replies to your questions in a timely manner. You will usually have 4 assignments to complete by the end of each week, fairly easy assignments; he gives 4 extra credit papers to do. Exams do require honorlock!

We had to do a discussion every week which he was lenient on. A short quiz every week as well (10 questions) and 4 exams in total. He gives us a paper to do every other week that are 1 to 2 pages which was fairly easy. At the end of the class he gave us 4 papers that were extra credit. Their were some assignments on McGraw which we also had to do.

Amazing prof! He offers lots of EC that boost your grade a bunch. He does give a lot of assignments weekly but they are really fun and easy. He helps you with any problems you may have and is very understanding and lenient. 4 exams that are pretty long but easy but he does give less time than there are questions. it's still manageable to get an A.
