phillips was really fun, a little spacey at times, but he covered the material well and kept most of us engaged.

Dr. Phillips is an amazing professor! He's hot and lots of fun!!! He can make anything sound interesting!

To those criticizing,wait until you get to either FSU-PC or wherever you are going before deciding you haven't learned anything.You will not be spoon-fed at FSU-PC. If he hadn't given us his lesson plan format,and had us do microteaches I would have been much less prepared.I didn't know the full extent of what he had taught me until later.

Dr Phillips teaches in a different method. The idea is that you have to find the information you need to do the assiment just like you would have to in real life. He dose not spoon feed the students the information. He requires something called self motovation for the student to find the information.

OMG! Dr. Phillips has got to be the best teacher that I've ever had! He doesn't teach the class like we're all babies. You learn the stuff on your own and DISCUSS it in class. I love his classes! The personal experiences only bring the points home!

I have never in my life come across a more caring and dedicated professor. He sincerely cares for the well-being of his students and will go out of his way to help them.

phillips was an easy A...he's really not that bad of a teacher....i dont understand why all these people are so critical...i personally liked his stories and humor...educations classes are about sharing experience and arent meant to be so formal...so stop hating!

I took this class a few years ago, and even though i've left the state of FL and moved elsewhere to get my certification, I still reference back to what I learned in his course. Rock on, Dr Phillips!

Absolutely LOVE Dr. P!! He is so helpful and a great professor! Truely loves what he does and will do anything to see ou succeed! I cannot wait to take him again next semester!! FAVORITE TEACHER EVER!!!!

Fun Class!!!!!

Yes he is brutally honest about the teaching field. We are not going to make a lot of money and sometimes we are going to wonder why we chose this career, however, I think that is the responsible thing to do. He is fun and enertaining.

HE IS SOOOO GREAT. He makes his class and he really lvoes what he does! THis class is so fun and so easy.

Dr. Phillips is AMAZING! No joke he is brillant, and his career EXCITES him!! He's not like most boring professors who read off of their board or powerpoint! He lays it all out on the line for you. Phillips is the best! I've never had a teacher as amazing as him.STUDY! Don't wait until the last minute to do projects either. And go to him for help. He is always willing to help if you ask.

He tells interesting stories about his experiences as a teacher. Attending class is more of a life lesson than anything related to the course. But if you do the study guide the exams will be very easy. Don't worry about deadlines, just get everything in by the last day of class, he is very accommodating and understanding.

Professor Phillips is.... AWESOME! He loves teaching, he loves his students! He knows the information he is teaching. He's made me excited about this course. I was undecided about teaching, but even now with Phillips honesty about the disadvantages of it.. he's inspired me to be in the classroom! :D THE BEST TEACHER EVER!!!!

Dr. P is the best teacher ever. He is always willing to help students with assignments and teaches on such a different level that you do not even realize how much you are learning. I love his class and his teaching style. I will never forget what I have learned from him.

I loved being in Dr. Ps class! He was very helpful & made class fun! I honestly have never met someone taht was so happy to teach. Some students hated that he was very open, but I'm glad he didnt sugarcoat what it is to be a teacher. He has a very realistic approach to teaching different methodology and was always very kind. BEST TEACHER EVER!

At first I was skeptical about all the negatives because I choose all my teachers off this web site. Most of the time they are right. They were so wrong about this teacher. He is the nicest teacher I have ever met. Some topics were boring but I still listened. This class wasn't as serious as my diversity class. Thanks Dr. P. Terri Langston

Dr. P understands the passion of wanting to teach. He is helpful and supportive, & gets to know each of his students. He was our own John Keating from Dead Poets Society. The stories of his own teaching experiences are amusing but helpful. He doesn't sugar coat the reality of being a teacher, but shows us the beauty in being an educator.

Awesome teacher. DO your work and observations and micro teach, you will pass this class. Does not ask for much. Just do your work. Relates his personal experience to the classroom. Does not let you walk into a surprise.

Amazing teacher!!! Cares for his students

This class was a breeze. In addition to several other easy assignments, there are only two tests plus the final. Study guides are straight forward. Tests are scantron. Final is copy and paste from the previous tests.

All around awesome! He makes history interesting and doesn't just give the textbook stories we have all heard through grade school. I've learned a lot and have really enjoyed this class. He makes class very enjoyable and always makes the class laugh! Great professor! Pretty good looking too! Cute accent.

Philips is an awesome teacher who really cares about his students. As long as you try you will pass the class.

I LOVE Dr. Phillips, and look forward to his class every Monday and Wednesday. He's hilarious, you know what he expects, and he gives great advice for us future teachers. I would love to have him for every class.

Dr. Phillips is a wonderful professor. I have never enjoyed the first half of American history but he some how made the subject enjoyable. You can tell he really cares for his students. His study guides are a bot overwhelming but there is nothing on the tests that he did not cover. Great guy, hopefully I can take History 2 with him.

Phillips is hands down one of the best professors I have ever had. Lesson planning and a micro teach (10-20 minute presentation of a lesson plan) are mandatory but he makes even the most nervous speaker feel comfortable and is ALWAYS willing to give a helping hand. His stories make the lectures more enjoyable! Definitely recommend.

I found Dr. Phillip's class on Intro to Education extremely useful. He relates a lot of practical knowledge and the class allows the student to decide if they really want to be a teacher. The class is a lot of discussion and the rewards for excellent work, as it always is, is richly earned.

Easily one of the best teachers I've ever had. He really cares about you as a person, and will do whatever he can to help you. The observation journals suck, but he's extremely fair when grading them. Tests are super easy, the final is just the two tests combined, 50 questions. Tells you the good and the bad of becoming a teacher. Awesome teacher!!

Great teacher!

Phillips is great. Definitely an easy-A. His lectures are interesting, but he does not post power points or any other study material. No need for the book. Just Google the info and you'll pass fine.

Be prepared to sit in class for at least fifteen minutes waiting on Professor Phillips to show up. He is 10-30 minutes late every day so clearly attendance and timeliness is not of the greatest importance to him. His lectures are a little flighty but if you pay attention and follow directions this should be an easy A.

Dr. Phillips is a good professor, he gives you a topic list that will end up being on the test. Essentially, you can just record his lectures, follow the topics, and then you'll be set for the exam. You may have to write some papers but he is an easy grader. He does come in late, but it's not a big deal b/c you can just learn to show up late also.

Amazing teaching! He is honest with you about what you are about to get into career wise, and he isn't going to sugar coat anything. If you need him you know that you can talk to him and he will try to help. He wants you to succeed, you just have to put in the work!

Dr. Phillips helped me realize that I am going to be an amazing teacher. He helped me see this in's-and-out's of the teaching profession so that I could make an informed decision about my career. The good, bad and ugly. His teaching style is one that encourages you to take responsibility of your own education so do not expect him to micro-manage.

Really good teacher. He does skip around in his lectures a little, but its honestly not bad. He never gets off topic and gives u really detailed answers. only assignments were Three 2 paged essays and the tests. Honestly the Easiest class ive taken in a while. Only minus is that he doesnt do canvas, so you wont know your grades for a LONGGGG time.

Professor Philips is my favorite professor I have ever had! He is the funniest teacher and makes history fun and engaging. He gives 3 or 4 papers and 4 tests with no midterm or final! His tests are all multiple choice and he grades on a curve! The papers are any topic in history and one page of the research and half a page of personal opinion! Easy

Prof. Phillps was one of my favorite history teachers! He made it very interesting! No midterm or final, 4 tests and 4 papers. He gave out curve points like there was no tomorrow on tests (made a 44 on one and he curved it to a 70), gave us our last paper free so we did 3/4. For the study guides, know the main points of each and you should be fine.

I loved this class and Professor Phillips. His lectures were engaging and he gives a study guide for each exam, he will literally tell you what he's gonna ask, or repeat things 2 or 3 times so you know what's on the test. he does a curve for tests and there's no reason to not get an a in this class. I laughed a lot and learned so much!

You do kind of have to teach yourself in this class but I just didn't listen to the lectures and slowly worked on the study guides. Doesn't grade too hard on the essays and tests weren't that bad. very friendly and flexible but don't miss a test because he's not one for showing up on time and never answers his email.

He is a very good professor and if you fail his class it's because your too lazy to put in the effort to listen and take notes.

Phillips is sure to keep lectures interesting and educational. Be sure to come to class prepared to take notes. Grades are based on two essays and unit exams. This past semester exams were curved based on how the entire class performed. A study guide is provided for each unit. Studied a few days before and did fine.

A great guy. Really funny and pretty engaging with the class. He gives a pretty decent curve on his test but I think that it is because he does not have set notes. If you are not in class, you better hope you have a buddy because there is no way to access them online. He did not put any of the tests or essays into canvas, so I was unsure of grades

Good professor very caring! You can tell he enjoys history and likes teaching it however to me his lectures are very mild they teach you most of the study material but the lectures alone are harder for me to remember (adhd) as they don't grab my attention but that's the only downside. He's very kind and provided good content to read from and movies

I hope he never burns his mouth on hot chocolate. Best man ever, I am very grateful for his existence, (he let me make up a test I missed that determined if I passed)
