John is awesome! He didn't have a RMP page when I signed up for his class, but I took a gamble and oh boy did it pay off! The class was online, and was comprised of one weekly homework smartbook, one weekly extra credit discussion, two paper style homeworks, and a midterm and final. The extra credit was a life saver! Couldn't recommend enough!

Professor Pilkinton was awesome. He class is cafeteria style so you can do the assignments you want to earn the grade you want. I loved the flexibility and he was always available to help me out when I asked questions. If you have to take Econ 2010, Id take it from him.

Prof. Pilkington was an awesome guy his class was laid out super well. I'm not good at anything econ but he did a great job in the lectures and the class layout was great so you can get tons of extra credit and didn't have to take the final if you like your grade- its just free points.

Professor Pilkinton was a fantastic educator. I really enjoyed his lectures and wished I could've attended more. He is well organized and clear on what is expected of you to pass his class. He's very flexible when it comes to choosing the assignments you want to do. I would 100% recommend taking Econ from him. UVU needs more professionals like him.

Yes, you have to work for it. The majority is busy work BUT the smartbook chapters help you actually learn the concepts. They are time-consuming but VERY helpful. Make sure you get the 2 projects done, big points there. I struggled at the beginning of the block with personal stuff and reached out to let me turn stuff in late. He's is understanding.

Overall I enjoyed the layout of the course although I don't think I learned all that much.

I had a great experience with him as my professor funny guy and cares about what he teaches. would definitely take him again in the future.

Professor Pilkinson is a super nice guy. I took this course online, but he was always quick to respond and help me when I had questions. He realizes that econ has so many topics to learn that he just lets you pick and choose the assignments you feel will be best for you. Super caring, nice guy. I would recommend.

Great guy he is super funny (dad jokes). There is a bit of work but it is all up to you bc there is way more material than you have to do to get the A+. Be organized with this course bc it is easy to fall behind. All assignments are due Sunday at 11:59 pm. Do not be scared to communicate with him if you need help he is very understanding. (:

Professor Pilkinton is the man. This class was a buffet-style course, so you were able to pick and choose which assignments you wanted to complete for credit. I reached out to him multiple times throughout the semester and Professor Pilkinton always gave great advice/guidance. 10/10 would recommend taking econ from him!

great professor highly recommend, very kind and helpful. fist time with cafeteria style class and loved it, the only thing would be to look at your total points in the class not percentage to see current grade, (thought i was doing a lot better then i was all semester lol) would take again for any class.

Professor Pilkinton was great! Really enjoyed his online class! Was very helpful and involved throughout the whole semester. This class was cafeteria style which I loved. There were weekly assignments due every Sunday, nothing crazy hard. If you set a side time each week and participate you will get a good grade in this class.

Took this class online and honestly didn't have a lot of interaction with Professor Pilkinton. The class is cafeteria style, so getting a certain number of points will have you pass. Professor Pilkinton provides a lot of great resources for you to use in preparing for each module's assignments, and he has interesting lectures too.

Cafeteria-style course. I managed to get enough points by the beginning of November to pass with an A without much effort. If you try hard in the course, you could have enough points to pass with an A before mid-terms. The professor will work with you if you are struggling.

I took the course online, great experience overall. The only real complaint I have is that the online course structure was a little bit confusing, with assignments on at least three or four different platforms. It made it kind of hard to keep track of everything, and I did end up missing a few small assignments along the way.

Took online, there were a lot of assignments but none were very difficult. The whole class opens up at the start I ended up completing the course a couple months early. He has a points threshold that once you reach it you have an A and you don't need to complete anything else. If I had the chance I would take as many classes from him as possible

Everything was outlined with clear expectations. Cafeteria-style so you can choose the assignments that best fit you. Extra Credit is built into the course. Easy to get ahead of schedule. The class is cafeteria course style and is amazing, he gives so many different resources to learn and really emphasizes learning rather than your grade. If you do the assignments you will get an A, it's all up to you what grade you get in this class.

Professor Pilkinton is by far one of the best professors I've had. He is always available via email and will extend any due dates if necessary. He is a very quick responder and cares about his students' grades and wants you to succeed. If you do the assignments you will have a guaranteed A.

Super simple course. Professor Pilkinton was very organized and sent our weekly announcements.

This course had a lot of weekly assignments, but they are all connected and related to each other. Often times I found that after I completed two of the weekly assignments I was able to complete the other four within five minutes each. Don't feel overwhelmed when you see six or seven assignments for the next week.

Professor Pilkington made this online class as good as an online class can be.He grades out of total points rather than percentage. This class did take a lot of my time but he did a good job with applying the subject to the real world and was very helpful when I needed help or had questions.

I took the ECON 2010 class online. There were a lot of assignments each week, but they were manageable! Professor was nice and easy to talk to if you need help!

Professor Plilkinton's online Econ class is very straightforward and enough work to help you learn but not be completely overwhelmed. I liked the he gave us the option of a final/midterm project or a test. His accent is also entertaining in his lectures!

Great professor! Gives you the option on exams ( only two of them and not comprehensive) to either do a regular multiple-choice test or a project! Your grade depends solely on how many points you earn from the assignments you choose to do. You don't have to do them all!

I took it online and there was a lot of homework but you dont have to do it all. You can pick and choose but the more you do the better your grade will be!

Mr. Pilkinton did a fantastic job (and in a humorous way) of presenting the material in a way that connects to reality and how it's practical. He applies some experience he has had in other careers to help us understand the material better, while also applying it to what we, ourselves, experienece in our daily life. Very fun, kind, and creative!

Professor Pilkinton really cares about his students and economics. You can pick the activities you want to do- which are all McGraw Hill kind of stuff. I found the assignments a little hard to do, but there's a check your work button that allows you to learn backwards if you get it wrong. Overall, great class-- I just wish I had taken it in person.

I took this class online and was one of the easiest online classes I have taken at UVU. Most of the assignments are through McGraw Hill and participation based. Great teacher and great class.

Professor Pilkiton is very enthusiastic and cares about what he does. I took this class online and had no problems. You can't turn in any late work but there are extra credit opportunities. Most of the homework is through Mcgraw Hill and the assignments don't take very long.

Professor Pilkinton is a great professor. Used McGraw-Hill, felt like a lot of busy work- usually about 4 assignments with one really long one and a discussion question each week. He provided online lectures that you could watch anytime that were really helpful- you get stuff done really fast if you watch them, as he explains stuff really clearly.

Professor Pilkinton has a very great structure for his online class. He includes plenty of things to earn extra points and gives you extra stuff to look at to learn more external things about economics. The discussions were also very fun and interesting and you there was no sense of judgement on different views in fact it was encouraged.

Professor Pilkinton is very understanding of external circumstances and will work with you to catch up, if needed. The class has a lot of homework, but it is all straightforward, easy to learn, and easy class.

Professor Pilkinton is really a standup guy. He provides his own teachings on top of the readings for additional help, and is really easy to reach out to and work with. He responds really fast to emails, which is ideal for an online course. Just do your readings and take good notes and you shouldn't have any issues!

This class was great! Professor Pilkinton did great with grading assignments and clearly stating his grading criteria in the syllabus. The assignments were manageable when done every week (due on Sundays). I would recommend this class to anyone willing to keep up on homework each week (which should be most people) :) I learned a lot!

He was great - super easy to connect with, and super helpful when I had a question. It was a fast paced class with tons of work but it was easy to get the grade that I wanted just took a lot of work. Great class, would definitely take it from him again if I needed to.

This is for extra credit in his class :) However, I would have the same review. He is a great teacher. My brother recommended him to me. Test and everything else open note. You are responsible for your own learning.

I am currently taking this class, but professor john Pilkington is great. He understands that you have a life outside of school & uses a really cool grading format that kept me engaged & help me accountable! I love this class, and would definitely take it again.

Pilkinton was awesome! This class is "cafeteria style" which basically means you can just pick and choose what assignments you do. You can either take an exam or write a paper twice a semester, so having the choices to do what you want is great. Easy, low-stress class!

This class was straightforward online. There are a lot of assignments to do every week, but he grades on points. So you only need so many points to get an A. You could finish this class really fast if you dedicated some time to it. The entire class is basically McGraw hill but he has lectures you can watch too! He's a funny guy and good professor!

I took this class hoping for an easy, self-paced online class, and that's what this was. I never interacted with the professor outside of the announcements he would post, but I liked how he added humor to them. The class was cafeteria-style and there was plenty of extra work you didn't have to do. I was never stressed about this class.

I had to retake this class because my last professor wasn't very good and Professor Pilkinton made all the difference! For an online class with no lectures or anything like that, he did an amazing job giving all the information necessary to pass the class and succeed!

He only gave me an A :( He needs to be taken down a peg, far too cocky. People are far too nice to him. (This is my dad) Okay, genuinely it makes me extremely happy whenever he talks about his career as a professor. He's one hell of a great professor and an even better dad. Learned some cool things about economics whenever we chat about it. :)

Loved the discussion posts, they were super fun. Uses Cengage, which is terrible but you get 3 tries on each problem and it takes the best grade. Lectures aren't the most fun but I printed the PowerPoints and wrote notes on them while listening. Great guy, the syllabus might be the funniest one you'll ever read.

ECON 2010 with Prof Pilkinton was so much easier than I expected, especially for an online course. The interactive online activities help to understand the concepts in a real world scenario. The assignments are easy and everything is open note. There are also tons of ways to get extra credit.

You can do the whole class at your own pace. There is no grading categories. Everything is just worth points and there is a threshold you must cross to earn grades. If you earn a set amount you don't even have to take the final. I didn't know this and ended up doing things I did not have to, but nothing was that difficult. Highly recommend.

Easy Class. Easy to follow online. It feels like a lot of work but it isn't. Great guy!
