Awesome teacher, helps you in any ways possible. He is always there to answer your questions and is pretty easy however I did learn a lot about computer graphics and art.
Great personality and knows his stuff too. He made the class fun and taught us a lot too.
Adorable personality and valuable teaching skills. Quite a find. If you can get into his class, take it!
WHAT a cutey!
Nice guy, made the class fun. Subject isn't especially difficult, so he get's to be pretty laid back most of the time.
Great teacher for a student like me who has A LOT of questions.

Very good teacher, helpful...answers questions. Pretty easy class, alot of freedom with your artwort. Nice guy, easy A.
Great teacher. Very helpful. Subject is fun, and his teaching makes it even better.
Very cool guy. I took this class to fill my fine art requirement, and am glad that I did. I learned a lot about art and computers.
cool, easy class. Will help if you need it.
he is such a nice teacher, and he really carries on with the class very well. I had fun, learned a lot, and always was kept on task. Great teacher...funny guy...good class
He's really helpful, nice, and he grades really easy. He works his ass off so bring him lunch one day because he hardly has time to eat.

great teacher. explains everything very well, and is always willing to assist.
what a tight teacher, only turned in one project and went ot class 3 times and gave me a c

One of the easiest teachers, but also one of the best teachers. He really knows what he's doing and really tries to get his students to improve artistically. He's young so he can relate to students better than most professors. Take his classes!
cool teacher doesnt **** its good****
Very awesome class. My final projects came out better than I ever imagined! He really helps his students and gives them the feedom they need to perform their best!Plus he's super hot and a lot of fun! he listens to crazy irish music and its fun! good class! learn a lot more than you ever think you would!
Mr. Pozzi is hella chill! Great class!
cool class. great if you know NOTHING about art like me! stay on his good side and hes really cool.

All our assignments were straight forward and very reasonable. I wasn't too excited about the art history we had to cover, but the exam was really easy if you just spent a little time studying. John's a fun guy and he definatly taught us some useful techniques we could use in our art. :)
Cool class. great professor. very helpful and interested in the material he is teaching.
The best professor I have ever had. Unlike a lot of professors he is unstanding and very helpful. He knows his stuff and has a passion to share it. I recommend him to anyone who wants to have a kickass time and learn a bunch.
The most enjoyable class i've ever had. Pozzi has passion and enthusiasm for what he teaches that shows and spreads to his students. His sense of humor lets us relate to him easily and adds to the appeal of the class. He is there for you, to help, inspire and correct. Students who've never touched Mirage before become amazed at what they can do.
i was amazed how how much i learned in a program i knew nothing about! john is amazing, very enthusiastic and funny!!! one of the best teachers i have ever had. take this class if you have any interest at all in computer art/animation...even if you dont need it!! good time...
Grades art very hard especially on people are only taking it for a GE. I got an A on the midterm and got a C in the class.
I loved this class. Learned a lot and had fun doing it. I had a B in the class and after turning in my final project he gave me an A-. Of course that is because my final project was mother effing tizzight! But seriously, Pozzi's a good teacher and very easy to talk to. Highly recommend this class.
Great Teacher. Especially in lab. Very helpful, although the animation project is difficult. I am an Exercise Physio major and I am horrible at using computers but he was always willing to help me out.
honestly.. pozzi is an awesome teacher. he knows what hes doing, and does it good. he is always willing to help. if you take this class you need to be prepared to work after class alot to get a real good grade. might not be as interesting for those not in the major, but it got me to change mine! completely enjoyable!
Best professor i have ever had!
One of the best teachers i have ever had in my college career. He is extremely helpful and will walk you through the process no matter your skill level. He even helped me on work for another APCG class i was taking. I learned more from that hour spent with him than the entire semester of animation. Grading can be tough if you do a half-assed job.
Mr.Pozzi is an amazing teacher! He is extremely helpful, I am not very talented when it comes to any kind of art, but Pozzi was always willing to help me. I have a new appreciation for computer animation. He is awesome.
Really funny and easy going
Lots of fun and plenty informative. Not bad to look at, either. :)
Perfect!
A very helpful prof who actually seems to enjoy art, unlike a lot of other art teachers. The assignments are demanding (or, can be when coupled with a perfectionist) but totally worth the effort. Feedback could be a little more detailed, but is better than expected with the dozens (hundreds?) of assignments to be graded.
This was the best class i have ever had. Mr. Pozzi made it fun and interesting. I looked forward to going to this class every week. If you work hard, do you best you will pass the class. Its not an easy A class. You need to be prepared to actually try to pass this class. The program we used was so fun!
VERY COOL AND HELPFUL!!!!
This class was fun and he doesn't grade too harshly.
Pozzi is a great teacher and he is always so helpful and confident that he can help you with anything probably the best thing i heard him say was at the first lecture when he said if you cant draw i can teach you ...it showed how confident he was and how willing he was to help :)
Excellent prof allover!
he is very friendly and always eager to help his students. He also always throws in a bit of strange but funny humor in all the time
Easy and simple to do. As long as you listen and ask him any questions for help, you will do just fine.
One of the best teachers at Chico hands down. one of the best teachers i have ever had. he is helpful, funny, clear, and an amazing teacher. i missed about a month of class (i got lazy and never showed up) but he was still willing to help me catch up on all the stuff i missed and showed me how to do stuff! There should be more teachers like him.
Really fun teacher to have. He has a wealth of knowledge not only in animation but in most any other technology/art related subject. Not to mention he's pretty nice to look at... 0;-D
One of the best teachers I've ever had, got me into the major also. He's always willing to help, great artist and teacher. He's also funny and not bad to look at!
He is very dedicated and passionate about animation and his students. With his crazy music and light-hearted jokes, he makes every class fun and enjoyable. (Oh yeah, and I learned a ton about Mirage and animation, if that's important haha)
If you want to learn computer graphics, John Pozzi is the guy. He is always willing to help you at any time no matter the situation. I recommend this class for everyone. Best teacher i have had at Chico State.
On a scale from 1-10(1 being the worst, 10 best), Pozzi is in the 9 range. To justify this, he is always actively helping students by class demonstrations as well as 1 on 1 help. He would be awarded a 10, but his taste in music is weak. Keep up the good work JP, but change your playlist!
absolutely loved this class!! it was a lot of fun and i learned alot. attendence not required, but you'll probably want to go anyway. great teacher, definitely knows his stuff. i learned alot from him and am switching my major to APCG because of this class
Teaches exactly the way every teacher should teach, but few people do. He actually works with the students and has fun with it, rather than throwing things at you and not caring, like other teachers tend to do. The education system desperately needs more teachers like Pozzi. In fact, I feel inspired to teach too because of him.
John Pozzi is an awesome professor. He genuinely cares about his students and is interested in the subject. He doesn't have tests (in APCG 110) and gives clear rubrics for project grades. While he "guards his As," I worked hard and got an "A" in his class, so it's quite possible. Furthermore, Pozzi is also really quite talented. Two thumbs up.
This was by far my favorite class this semester! He's a very laid back teacher who cares a lot about his students and art. He's also super helpful! He takes the time to show you step by step and makes sure you get it. The class was very very fun, sometimes challenging, but in the best way possible! Would definitely recommend this class :)
He is a great instructor and really helps you try and understand the material. I am not the best artist so i was afraid of getting c's or worse, but i pulled b's on all of the projects, because he can tell if you really tried. to get an A you have to be really good, but if your happy with a b all you have to do is put some effort into the projects
John was pretty awesome. Class was fairly hard but I did well, and as long as you put some effort into your projects you should be fine. He does a good job of being helpful despite having huge classes. Definitely take his class if you can!
Though the class is a bit hard, you just have to put the effort and time into your projects. Overall, he's always willing to help and show you through the steps of making the art you want digitally. Being that he seems pretty young he can actually relate to the students and joke around with them unlike other teachers. Take him if you get the chance
This class was much better than I expected. Teacher was helpful and just willing to get to know his students and help with all their projects. I enjoyed this class even though I had to work hard. Don't expect to do nothing and get by with this class.
Awesome guy. I've had him for several classes, and he's really great. Cares a lot about his students, always willing to give you a hand.
Pozzi is awesome. He is extremely helpful. I hate art and he made this extremely exciting. You forget you are taking another GE class. I highly recommend him.
Pozzi is amazing. His art is incredible and he has helped me grow into a better artist. =] Get him, if you can!!
He is an amazing professor and makes you want to go to class! He makes learning really fun and his projects are also really fun. You just have to finish projects so if you use your time wisely you won't have to go to every class. He is really terrific and take him if you can!
zero complains, great professor
Very Helpful and awesome profeser.
FANTASTIC CLASS!! highly recommend for anybody looking to fill the art GE requirement. He never asks to much of you. Everything is done in the labs because you need to use the software on the comp. All i would say is if you need a GE art class APCG 110 with John Pozzi is the way to go.
Pozzi is a fantastic teacher. He helps students at the drop of a hat, has an awesome sense of humor, and is one of the most knowledgeable professors I've ever met.
Pozzi doesnt really teach much but when he does he knows what he's talking about. He is a nice guy and is pretty funny. The class itself was basically self taught with help from other students, but the work wasnt too hard. Due dates are non existent (except be done by the end of the semester, and the grading seems fair. Dont have to go to class!
Pozzi is awesome, let me get that out of the way. Attendance is not mandatory, no books, assignments are turned in the last day...for this class, though, don't expect to see much of him: you get assigned a (former student) tutor to help you. I hope you get a good one, because if you don't, you're going to be in trouble.
This class was very laid back, you didn't even have to go to class most of the time. We got projects do every two weeks, you teach yourself or get help from other students. This class was alright, there shouldn't be a reason you didn't pass. He is a easy grader, but if you do middle work your not going to get an A.
Pozzi is an excellent instructor. The class is very straight forward and self-explanatory. Pozzi is very patient and helpful whenever you ask for help. I'm not a big fan of art, but actually enjoyed this class and was glad I picked it for my GE requirement. I would recommend this instructor to anyone.
ozzi is an awesome teacher. sometimes it is a little hard to get his attention (not his fault with how much he has to do) but when you catch him his advice is very detailed, honest, and helpful. he is a lot of fun and i totally enhoy his class
Great Teacher. I had no intention of doing digital art or animation but this class inspired me to take that path. He really knows what he is doing and if asked for help will really help improve your skills. I had 0 experience with digital art yet i had no problem due to his teaching. Take him if you can especially for general ed.
His teaching wasn't bad, but hard to fallow because of his speed. He helps, but not to much unless you go meet with him. He took a bit to grade projects... Not his fault, but it's hard to see where you stand when you don't have your grades. All in all, I would say take the class if your good with digital art or want to learn.
Pozzi is a great teacher for anyone who likes to be involved and enjoy coming to class. I only took this class to satisfy a GE and on multiple occasions considered changing majors. I would hands down say take this class if you have the opportunity!
He is a great teacher.I am not that good with computers, but he walks you through everything. The first day I was scared and wanted to drop but it got easier. We learn so much so quick but just raise your hand if you start to get lost and he is so helpful!Going to his class is a must or you will get lost, but the great thing is there is no homework
Thank you. Your class was fantastic and you were a wonderful teacher.
Not the most professional teacher but he knows his subject and conveys it really well. You will learn the program.
cool dude. Knew his material and was helpful at making a learning environment in the classroom.
One of the nicest professor in Chico State. This is a computer graphic class, so if you hate art don't take it. I have a hard time drawing on the computer and making animation. On the contrary, this class is 2 hour long. I was able to do my work in class time. It was a great experience in this class.
I have always been interested in art but never really had the skills to create any. The way he explained the different aspects of art really helped and his helpfulness in teaching really made me like this course.
John Pozzi knows his stuff! This guy is always helpful and very knowledgeable! His classes have a steep learning curve, so you have to keep up with him. However, he is ever willing to backtrack and help the students who might have missed something or are not taking the class as part of their major. Highly recommended!
Dude is a bamf. He's super helpful and as long as you come to class and don't screw around like an idiot its a really enjoyable and simple class to take. It improves artistic ability and computer skills. Totally recommend this course.
This guy has a grate sense of humer.Don't need to be affraid to ask questions or just ask for opinions. The best part is how amaizing the projects can come out if you try your hardest.
As a graduating senior, I don't know where I would be without Pozzi. He's always there to help the students learn and always challenges students to do their best. He is knowledgeable about many topics in the CG industry and it shows with the knowledge I've obtained here at Chico State. He's definitely one of the best professors at Chico State!!
He is an amazing professor! He's never afraid to speak his mind, and if you're work is lacking he'll show you how to improve it. I myself have struggled through his class assignments, but he has helped me all the way through it. Did I mention he has a great sense of humor? I recommend this class 100%
Solid art teacher made everything very clear and easy
I am terrible with art, but this class is actually really fun and Pozzi is amazing. You'll be surprised at the things you make during this class.
Fun class and very rewarding! Definitely a must-take for those who want to get to know Photoshop more. He gives honest and helpful feedback, whether you're stuck or just need a second opinion. He encourages students to ask questions and is very approachable. Hands down one of the best art professors I've ever had.
Best art class I've ever had. I suck at drawing and I still made some pretty awesome pieces. Pay attention, listen to his suggestions and ask questions when you have them, it will totally pay off in the end. Not the easiest class but well worth it. Oh, and don't try and do snow in a landscape scene, it's harder than it looks.
A nice guy but was very hard to get a hold off when needed. He assumed that people knew what they were doing before being taught anything. I am not an artsy person at all and he for sure made it clear to me that I wasn't
it's funny because he reads these. pozzi may not be the clearest teacher, but he is definitely the most helpful. if you talk to him and let him see your progress through projects, you will get a good grade. his advice is always gold.
Very helpful and easy going, will work out any problems you have in the class.
Interesting but hard grader. I didn't get any comments from him. If you don't care about your GPA I recommend but do not take this course if you care about your GPA.
He is an awesome teacher. Its not an easy class to get an A and it is time consuming, but he makes you want to show up everyday and although you might not get an A, he is more than willing to meet you halfway. Awesome class and an awesome teacher. He also has a great taste in music.
Pozzi is an amazing professor who really knows how to walk us step by step and make sure everybody is constantly on the same page so that we perform well. The programs we use are very complicated and he makes then a millions times less intimidating. Because of the wonderful experience I have had in this class, I will pursue APCG as my major.
Mr. Pozzi is a great teacher. He really takes teaching seriously and is very passionate about what he teaches. While he expects a lot out of his students he provides all the tools necessary to achieve a good grade. The class did take a lot of work though and demands lots of time working on projects outside of class. I really became a better artist
It is interesting class. Just remind that it would be not easy or difficult to get in A range. It looks easy class but he is harsh when he grade assignments. You sometimes get dissapointed when you get the grades, but if you want to enjoy art take him.
Easy, time consuming, disappointed about my grades.
Great Class, Pozzi is very knowledgeable and good at explaining concepts related to art, personally not being very artistic I was dreading taking this course. However Pozzi made the course enjoyable and entertaining. One thing to note is that attendance on lecture days are vital. If you don't go to classes where he explains a concept, good luck.
Pozzi is good professor. However, I don't know why he gave my projects low score. Do not expect any comments from him after you submitted your assignmnets. Do not think art is easy, so you will get good grades especailly this course.
This class is really easy. I did not go to more than half of the classes, and I ended up getting an A. The projects are easy and fun too. You don't really have to be artistic to get a good grade either, you just have to be creative. Definitely a fun class for me!
Pozzi is an awesome professor. The assignments are graded with a rubric. Follow the guidelines and you'll do well. Attendance is important if you really care about learning ways to make your time efficient. It might be easy to fall behind during in-class tutorials but he is pretty good about keeping everyone at the same pace.
I really loved this class and the teacher was great. He is very enthusiastic and helpful and I never have problems understanding what he is saying. The only thing I think he could improve on is giving more feedback. I didn't get any feedback on anything the entire semester so, other than my grade, I had no idea how I was doing on my assignments.
I didn't get any comments from assignment. It's hard to follow.
He was a really amazing teacher and very inspirational, really helpful and if you took your work seriously in his class and didn't go in with an attitude thinking it will be like any other class you'll definitely get a good grade.
Pozzi is very helpful. if you keep up with him you will learn a lot from this class. i recommend him. plus he is funny in childish way so you wont get bored
Good teacher, very helpful, really knows his stuff. If you pay attention and fallow along, you'll learn a ton. The more effort and attention you put in the more you get out of this. ASK FOR FEED BACK on your work. He has A LOT of good advice an tips and tricks. Fresh from industry, he knows his stuff!
AWESOME INSTRUCTOR. So knowledgable and really knows how to make it understandable for someone with little or no graphic art experience. He has really great feedback, but you need to ask for it! I have recommended this class to everyone I know and I would take any of his classes in a heartbeat.
Really nice teacher but the class moves really fast. Difficult if you don't have prior experience with photoshop. Has a teacher's aid but it's hard to get help to everyone as he moves very fast.
Pozzi is an awesome, helpful teacher. He's extremely clear about what he expects on assignments and projects. The class is easy if you show up every day and start projects EARLY so that you can get feedback before its due. Though there is plenty of time for the assignments, procrastination will destroy you and your art will not be satisfactory.
Pozzi is awesome! Very clear, he does go pretty fast so have a friend or take notes to help you through the harder concepts. Awesome class, take it
Pozzi is one Ultradocious dude! Meaning radical and very awesome! He is super funny, loves to teach, likes to kid around and tell jokes as he does teach. He is very helpful and will give u opinions before u turn work in. Take him for the ge arts requirement, for the fun, and opportunity!
Coolest instructor I ever had so far. He is very helpful, cool, & chill! Easy class if u show up and follow direction step by step. Definitely recommend anyone to take his class.
John pozzi is great he really loves photoshop and is great to learn from, his class is nicely paced but at the same time challenging! I had a great time learning photoshop and made some really cool landscapes!
This class was awesome. Learned so much and had a great time. Pozzi is freaking incredible and very talented. (And those SOA fans he resembles juice)
Pozzi made everything crystal clear, and he REALLY helps you to improve your artistic skills! He also moves at a reasonable pace, so if you feel discouraged by how artistic you are, then don't worry! Pozzi's in class tutorials are very helpful! Wish I could write more! This class was amazing! Best APCG instructor out of all of them!
Pozzi truly cares about his students and his work. He is super clear on making sure he answers your question and you understand it. Beyond my expectations of how friendly and kind he was as a professor. Towards the second half of the semester i found myself being in the computer lab hours after class because i was so tuned into my work.
Don't miss a single class. He takes random online attendance that is only open for a few minutes, so you have to go in order to know when to take attendance. If you miss a class you will fall very behind, especially if you begin a new assignment that day.
Amazing down to earth professor who values his relationship with his students and won't hesitate to jump through hoops to help them.
Pozzi's ability to texture scenes and objects is unreal, and he will tell you that everything needs to look like the way it would feel. Even if you had little to no artistic skill, he is willing to work with you f you asked for help in order to benefit your project. He works with everyone, trying his best to help everyone succeed in his class.
This class is way better than any physical art class on paper. I always sucked at art and this class gave me the chance to create some cool works of art. The class is mostly comprised of photoshop so if you already are comfortable with the program it should be even easier for you.
Professor John Pozzi is an eccentric instructor, he has a great amount of depth of knowledge in Photoshop and is always there if we need assistance or guidance in class. He's a really laid back Professor with an excellent teaching technique. This class is great, I give it a ten! Oh! Sometimes he plays music, these are the days to look forward to.
Pozzi is a texturing master, you'll learn very good skills and feedback from him. Pozzi is not only dedicated to his work but mostly to his students , he'll work with any problem or question a student may have. Never miss a day of class because the assignments are very time consuming and his instructions are quick (it's easy to fall behind).
Pozzi is an awesome guy! really funny and always there when anyone needed him. One thing make sure you make it to class and pay attention or else your screwed.
I loved taking his class, very funny and interesting. I looked forward to class, you get to sit back in a dark room with fun music playing and work on a computer. Can not get any better!
Pozzi is great! I had no prior art experience and minimal computer background knowledge and this class taught me everything. This class is tough not knowing basic art concepts, but it is doable. It is also really self rewarding after you complete assignments. If you miss class, you are way behind. Great class overall and great teacher.
Really cares about his students and that they do well in the class. No tests or quizzes and almost no homework as long as you stay focused in class. Attendance is mandatory to get a good grade because it is easy to fall behind if you aren't there. Very fun class and brings out your inner creativity!
Great enthusiasm! Came into this class skeptical and with zero knowledge of Photoshop, etc. His passion shows through his lectures, you can tell he's stoked to be doing his job, and is always open to helping you!
Really helpful and really into what he does. Made something that was intimidating at first very fun and do-able! Great professor.
This is a really fun class. I definitely enjoyed it. It is challenging and you have to go to EVERY CLASS, but going to class is worth it. He definitely makes the class fun and worth going to. If you work hard and put the time into the projects he assigns, you will get a good grade. And go to this office hours! Such a great help!
Pozzi was very helpful. He gave step by step when need and teaching assistants picked up the slack. While I am not happy with the quickness of his grading, he was a pretty good professor.
Extremely laid back and cool guy. He's always in a good mood and is always happy to help you. Make sure to attend every lecture, he'll boost your grade at the end if he sees you put in the effort. It's an easy class to pass but definitely not an easy A
Great and understanding professor
Very fun class. He draws pictures along with the students so you can look up all over the classroom and see what he's drawing. Always in office hours and willing to help when you ask. You don't need any experience in Photoshop, He will show you everything and make sure you understand.
Came into this class with zero knowledge of photoshop and he helped all the way. Moves a bit quickly when showing new skills and projects, and make sure not to skip class because you will fall behind.
He's fun
Pretty strait forward. Learning the programs and functions are the hardest part. Only two weeks per project, so make sure you clock in so extra time when you can, labs always welcome you.
I had not been in contact with any graphics or art exposure for at least 15 years! Jozzi, extremely cool awesome friendly lecturer, who will help u to improve. Importantly is not to skip class as you will find difficulty in catching up. Non-office hours, he will always be there to help. Show positive effort in improving each tasks, u b surprised
He is an amazing professor and wants you to pass. This class is fun and full of creativity. I am not computer savvy and I did very good in this class. At first he does go a little fast when explaining the material but other than that he is great.
He is crazy good, very fun and i learned so much. He helped me all the time and knows exactly how to do and would explain to you anything you are thinking you want to include in your projects. I hope I can take his other classes. Probably best teacher and best class i have ever taken so far.
He is really good at helping students. He can go a bit fast at times but is there when you need help on anything. There is not a lot of homework but once you get a project you will be working on it a lot. You're going to get what you put into this class. He know's his stuff and is a great artist.
He seems to love doing his job. He is sometime funny when discussing the class material. Explains what he expects from our projects specifically. Engages with the class often.
I took this class a couple years ago during my Freshmen year. I remember that Pozzi would draw pictures when the students were working on the overhead and it opened my eyes to what some people can do with Photoshop. It was one class I enjoyed attending. Also, the computers in the lab are super fast. Pozzi was very helpful with wise advice.
Super nice, super fun. He really loves his job and his students. He's actively working in the gaming industry so he's always up to date on what's going on. He goes over everything step by step, don't miss class. My only issue is that only 2 assignments are graded so everything is important. I'd like to see more opportunities to earn points.
Can't say anything that hasn't already been said. Great professor!
Pozzi always helps when you need it, the assignments are always clear as to what he wants and expects from you. The assignments seem like you have a lot of time for them, but the deadline approaches fast. He's always either working on some personal art or walking around helping. Fun class and great instructor.
Took CAGD 110 and 117 with Pozzi and I enjoyed both classes. You have to really put the work in and attendance matters. Fun class, I learned a lot on how to improve my drawing and he inspires students to become better. Always there during office hours if you need any help.
Pozzi is awesome. He presents the material as though we are total beginners to the concepts, which I was. I had him for both CAGD 110 and CAGD 117 during the same semester, and I was able to follow along in both classes. He discusses the techniques, presents examples, and draws right along side the students. He gives pointers to those who ask.
Great Instructor. Really knows his stuff. His lectures are easy to follow and are well constructed.
Great Instructor, take John Pozzi if u want to be a successful artist
Pozzi is a very talented and dedicated artist, and his overall personality makes his class fun, and informative.
All of the classes I've taken with Pozzi have been awesome. He helps you understand the material and why it matters. I've learned more about artistic fundamentals from him than from my Art Dept professors. He helps students through problems and grades fairly. Just be aware that he expects you to draw YOUR best, not to the level of the examples.
Amazing professor, will help you with your projects and homework, his classes are never boring and never pointless.. one of my fav. professors so far
Great guy and very approachable. Fun and free flowing class, definitely would take again.
One of my favorite professors! Super friendly and loves to help you with anything. He's super goofy and has a fun sense of humor. So talented as well!
Awesome guy, fun class. Helps you learn how to use Photoshop and apply lighting and texture to your art to give it more depth and realism.
Great instructor. Explains the class and each assignment very easily. If you have a problem or don't fully understand how to do something he works with you one on one. He does an incredible job making sure no one in class falls behind. If you are struggling in his class it is because you never raised your hand. Plus he has a very friendly attitude.
I really enjoyed Pozzi class and he is a kind, hilarious, and a awesome professor. I would not recommend skipping his class because he teaches new material and you wouldn't want to come to class feeling clueless and behind.
good dude
He makes the class interesting for you, all the projects are fun. I didn't know anything about Photoshop and I was never really good at art either but it I learned how to us PS and made some pieces I can be proud of. Gives excellent feedback and tips if you're interested!
Really chill dude. I'm far from being an artist (programmer) but he made the class interesting
Great at explaining things, great professor highly recommend.
Super chill professor and very helpful. Highly recommend his class!
Not bad overall. All my projects were in the mid 80's so it's hard to do really poorly but you're gonna really have to go above and beyond to get an A on the assignments. Make sure you show up to class because if you have perfect attendance he'll bump you up a full letter grade at the end of the semester so I managed to get an A-.
Really helpful and supportive professor. Will go out of his way to help you with anything you need. Real chill personality but still pushes you do work hard.
Teacher is always available to help students. Has a lot of knowledge under his belt and has excellent techniques and style to teach the class. I would like to take his class again, he's a genuine and amazing lecturer.
Pozzi is a nice guy, who is understanding of life hurdles. He is also an amazing teacher, after the first day of class you can tell there is a vast amount of information he has to offer you.
Pozzi is a highly respected instructor at CSU Chico. He definitely cares about his students and is always available to help anyone in animation, concept art, and story. He always stays late after class even if you need help. I highly recommend taking his classes and his lectures are always in-depth and he goes a good pace.
A main reason I decided to attend Chico State is because of the caring and inspirational nature of Pozzi during one of Chico's Preview Days. I had the privilege of having him for classes in Photoshop, 3D Animation, Concept/Storyboarding, and as an advisor for my Honors Thesis project. All his teachings will carry over well after I've graduated.
For 499H Pozzi became a valuable resource for a special project of mine. He helped improve my story as well as compositing better shots in my storyboard. His critiques are very in-depth. The class can be difficult if the effort is put in. Pozzi helps push your work to the limits. He is highly respectable and I enjoy every lecture he has given me.
The very first assignment with Pozzi was the bouncing ball. I can't stress how much I learned using Maya and the basic principles of animation with this exercise. Pozzi designs his classes in a way where no one falls behind. He pushes students to help out one another. I enjoy his classes since he is not only funny but also inspirational.
Very well respected and inspiring to many of his students. Pozzi is very accessible outside of class, even the semester, he really cares about his students and their work. He responds to email well and always finds a way to help his students improve. If you care about your work, he cares about your work. By far, he is a favorite.
I can't say enough good things about Pozzi. He is a huge help when it comes to improving your artwork. If you ask a question, ask for critiques, he is all about helping. He truly cares for his students and their work. He is very accessible outside of class via email or office hours. I even got some help from him outside of the semester.
Really helpful, holds you accountable for attendance and participation. Grades based on technique and outcome, but if you put the effort in it's an easy pass.
I've struggled to learn the essential elements studios are looking for character animation and felt like I'm lost or confused on that subject of animation. Until Pozzi comes along. With his help, not only did he spark my interest for character animation again, but he also cleared out the haze that's been bothering me for the past 4 years.
He really cares about your work and wants you get improve and get better by the end of the semester and his feedback is always really good.
Pozzi was understanding and caring especially during this year with a pandemic and presidential election. He is available for feedback outside of the classroom and wants your best work so you can improve on your skills.
Professor Pozzi is both knowledgeable and caring. He is pretty lenient in terms of deadlines but still expects a polished final product. He's very helpful if you're struggling, so make sure to take advantage and get feedback often. Easily one of my favorite professors in this major.
Pozzi is definitely a really wonderful Professor. He cares a lot about his students and makes sure that every one of his students is on the same page when it comes to providing animation assignments, gives really good and detailed feedback, and provides good resources for every beginner to advanced animators. My favorite Professor ever.
He paces the class very well. I knew nothing about Maya so when I first took his class it was extremely difficult, but he made it easy to understand.
Professor Pozzi is understanding and great and making sure everyone is at the same level of work! He is great at making time for his students in class and outside if class! Definitely recommend him as skilled art professor he is good about deadlines and helping you meet them! Such a fun class but definitely not an easy A! By well worth taking!
Professor Pozzi is very straightforward on what his teachings are based on and even his grading material. He's very laid back and most of all makes students feel welcomed so it's a class where you can feel comfortable. Attendance is mandatory as a way of making sure you are learning the material. Individual projects are the main focus in class.
Pozzi is a damn good teacher. Nothing in his class is too heavy and I like that. The one gripe I have is that he doesn't give feedback. I know there's a rubric, but I would just like verbal or texted feedback on my work is all. Also, I really hope I can still use PS for free when the semester is over because I want to keep making awesome stuff.
Really enjoyed this class. I am majoring for 3D animation and I am not much of a fan for 2D animation and drawing. This class taught me to love this type of media with a great professor that really cares!
This man goes above and beyond. He teaches with both passion and expertise, he respects the student, he even goes out of his way to change the schedule to accommodate the struggling student. If I could have him for everyone of my classes, I would. This guy deserves a medal!
Amazing professor easy to follow along during class and if you do you wont have to spend much time on homework out of class. If you need any help with anything he is happy to help doesnt matter if you have any experience in art either.
I took an art class with him and he was a great motivation in and out of the class. He helped me push my artistic abilities, and to explore more fields of art, super fun, highly recommend.
John Pozzi is one of the best professors at Chico hands down. CAGD 110 was no freebie for the arts GE requirement you will have to put in work for the projects, but they are paced well with straightforward requirements. Pozzi does a great job of showing/explaining concepts and has the best lectures/workdays. If you are interested at all take it.
Awesome teacher 10/10 would take again provides great feedback and isnt mad when students ask questions. He also is very happy to talk with the students and get to know them which is great! He grades work very fairly and has office hours where you can get more help with your work.
He is the nicest professor I've ever had after 6 years of college. He truly cares about animation and is extremely patient when people have issues. He's friendly and knows a lot about the animation industry and gladly will tell you everything he knows. He spends hours after class helping the students he didn't have time to help during class.
Honestly one of the best professors at this school. He is willing to help you with anything you need for your animations. He cares about his students and will work with you to not only get a good grade but to make sure you actually learned something from the course. Gives professional feedback on what looks good and what to improve on your artwork.
Pozzi is one of the nicest guys you'll meet at Chico State. He is sociable, gives great feedback, and deeply cares about the success of his students. He will spend an hour with you after class if you need help. He knows what he's talking about and I learned so much about animation during his 340 class. He made in person class very enjoyable.
A very nice professor who is very understanding when mistakes happen. When I messed up on an assignment, he gave me extra time to submit it. As long as you communicate with the professor, show up to class, and work on your projects, this class will be easy. There was never a ton of homework, and we never needed any textbooks for the class.
I wish I could take Mr. Pozzi again. If you're considering taking his class, go register or enroll or whatever it is you need to do to get into his class. I'm limited on words so I'll try to keep this basic. He will teach you the basics, which will allow you to do some amazing work. He is very kind and easy to talk to. You'll learn a lot.
Amazing dude. I did take his class for credit at first but I took it as an elective instead because I enjoyed his class so much. Be aware and understanding that he may not that much help getting to everyone since he is one person. I wish this dude could have more help so that he could get to help everyone as much as he wants with feedback.
Pozzi's awesome! His feedback isn't just helpful; it's the kind that guides you without making you feel down about your work. And let me tell you, his sense of humor is something else! Plus, his humor is on point. Just make sure to follow his instructions and read up on the homework requirements. I'd totally sign up for any class he teaches.
all me and my homies stan Pozzi
A kind, knowledgeable& amazing person. Show up to class&do your assignments with actual effort&don't skip class so you can pass. If you are new to Maya, it won't be easy, so take notes. He made me believe in myself again and gave me hope in animation. If you put in the work and effort, it will show, so do your best&don't be afraid to ask for help.
He has been helpful during and after class the entire semester, constantly giving feedback when asked for, makes good feedback on assignments submitted to canvas that benefited me and allowed me to improve overall. Pozzi has been a wonderful professor, would recommend taking his classes!
You have to actively not show up the entire semester and never turn in any assignments to fail this class. Pozzi is an incredibly understanding professor and is always willing to help, whether it be feedback on projects or extensions on projects. There's not a lot of work, about 5-6 animation projects overall. Highly recommend, he's a homie fr
Actually wants you to learn the skill and gives feedback on what you might need to work on.
Pozzi brings a fun and relaxed energy to class. I can be a slow learner at times and he was always very patient and helpful.
Pozzi is a wonderful teacher, he makes sure you know what's going on and helps you every step of the way. He's sarcastic in a positive way and is never going to be mean, he's honest and very caring. He's the most helpful teacher I've had in my major so far. Highly recommend, wish i had more classes I could take him with.
He's serious about his grading so don't expect an easy A, but he's also incredibly nice and helpful, and always willing to help and offer feedback. He even offered me career advice when I approached him about it. One of the best professors I've had hands down.
Pozzi is an awesome prof - super helpful and patient. The class is manageable if you stay on top of assignments. I found Unstuck AI and the free textbook really helpful for study prep.
John is a pretty cool teacher, he showed us examples of some student-made animations, helped out students with what they were working on when asking for help, and he's really nice.
Pozzi is awesome. Everything you'll need to know is presented during lecture, which usually doesn't take that long. There are only a couple assignments, but they're all worth a lot of points. He's pretty lax with grading the actual motions as long as they look smooth.
Pozzi is a fun and caring professor. His classes are relatively light on work, there may only be a handful of assignments through a semester. Pozzi is always happy to help out and share insight and tips. He is a good teacher and I have learned and practiced a lot this semester.
pozzi was awesome, so nice and the projects were fun. lots of time to work in class and get help. I learned a lot in his class and enjoyed it. Would recommend and would take again!
my fav teacher in the entire art department. has a huge amount of technical knowledge and industry knowledge that is invaluable. his instruction and feedback is some of the best ive had. i took this class twice for credit because i enjoyed it. very easy in the way that he helps you out and is very understanding of outside circumstances
Overall a great experience in class. Not the best class I've ever had but is definitely worth it. The pacing is sporadic however this is remedied by discussing due dates with the class at least a week beforehand. The work load is decently large but the amount of time usually given is enough to loosen time crunches by a comfortable amount.
Pozzi is a very friendly and sweet guy. The course has few assignments so it's easy to mess up your grade if you don't submit some of them! But he's very flexible and always willing to help with anything so it would be very rare to fail the class. It is very obvious he wants his students to succeed. 10/10 professor!
