Very Easy Teacher. The easiest tests I have ever taken in college. Nice guy, tries to be funny, to lighten up the mood.
great guy and teacher if you can get past the insesent talking and corny jokes.
Jack is the best math teacher I've ever had. He's extremely helpful, kind, and gives a lot of encouragement. He's awesome!
Very great and easy statistic teacher. He explains very clear. My on of the favorite instructors at COD.
Uncle Jack is the Man!! he's a huge sox fan and loves candy!! I had a good time in his class and I learned a lot. I don't know my grade yet but I would take him again!!
Jack is the best teacher in math that I had during my whole life. He is a funny guy that knows what is going on and he tries to help you how ever he can if you do what he says you will get A and He is not scarred to give you an A if you work hard.
Jack's classes have such a good atmosphere, and he explains things well. Jack is a very funny person too, however, he always knows when to stop joking and get serious. A sparkling personality and an awesome teacher!
The best statistics teacher I have ever had. Very helpful and easy one. He always incourages you even though you make mistakes. If you will attend all classes and take notes, you should not have a problem to get an A.

Jack, will surely give you an A if you do the work that he requires. I am not a big math fan, but he explained it all in plain english. Even a Monkey could understand. The best and most helpful teacher on campus. His classes fill up quick, register quick!
this guy is easy. Just study his notes and you will get an "A"
One of the very good teachers for mathematics.
Great teacher best math class ever
he is really good teacher. his notes are really good and easy to understand. when he takes exams, just read his notes, you will very easily get an A. Jack is funny, too. he has nice examples to support.
math seems very easy with him. his tests r based on HIS notes/examples. he will do everything to pass you. recommended!!
Not as easy as many think-- I believe he likes teaching Stats more than calc and precalc. Yet, he is probably the easiest you are going to get at COD. Lets hope stats is easier.
He's an awesome teacher with a great sense of humor. Who knew jokes could be made in Math class?! Great examples, very enthusiastic, and very fair. He won't let you fail if you at least try and go in for help. Very available for it too.
hez a great teacher
u know wat i like about this math prof? he does tells a lot of interesting/funny stories about his life but they do take your mind off the world of math (especially b. calc) so wen you've already taken a "break," you'll be energize again to tackle d' wonderful world of calculus ;)
take this guy!!!!! Mitch Fischer for econ as well!!
he is awesome. my class grade was a 87% and without an itch he gave me an "A" just dont miss any classes and study from his notes. very highly recommended and one of my best teachers that I met in cod.
What a joke. i can't believe your comments. joke joke joke. go sign up for his class and figure it out yourself. yea he talks in his own life, but he can't teach towards the students. too fast. i had to go home and teach myself rereading the book.
Funny guy with random comments. Had him for a summer class but good teacher. Ask him questions and he will help you out. Good notes that are on exam. Quizes and exams are over notes.
he is by far the nicest math teacher at cod this is gurenteed. a couple quizzes which he drops the 2 lowest scores which helps ALOT, & a few tests. your gurenteed to pass if you show a LIL bit of effort.
He is an Easy teacher, but he is very anal during test, walks around all the time making sure no one cheats. Not a nice guy if you push his buttons. he is very unorganized, and when comes to make ups he sucks
I thought he was kind of a weird guy the class itself is easy just review the notes and you should do fine in his tests b/c they're right out of his notes I should warn you though that hes very unorganized and doesnt let you use graphing calcs. only the regular ones are aloud.
Nice teacher with random comments. Just keep up with the notes and study them for tests & quizzes and you should do fine. The best teacher for this class.
This instructor is awesome! He's got a great sense of humor and tends to get off the topic a lot when he's lecturing in class. Just study the class notes and you'll do fine on his quizes & tests. I would reccomend u take him over any other instructor if he's teaching any math course!
Easiest math teacher at COD...must take...all the other teacher give out harcore prblems on the test...jack only gives BASIC problems....if u cant pass Jack's math classes, there no way in hell u would pass a math class taught by someone else....I repeat, ther is no easier math theacher than Jack!
Awesome teacher, makes difficult subject possible. Don't fall behind in this class!!! Tests are straightforward and fair. Pick this teacher!!
One of the nicest teachers and a great person.People think he is easy, well,I saw him do a really advanced calc problem in 2 sec.Students do not apprecite him and they are rude. But he is a GREAT guy.
hes so funny!
He is a wonderful teacher, I didn't realize how good he was until I took 082 with a different professer and I really appreciated Jack. He makes a difficult subject sooo much easier. Definately take this teacher
hes pretty easy but he gets annoyed by students very fast, if you try to talk to him or ask for help he will make you feel like crap and hes always so damn disorganized and tells these weird stories that are so damn irrelevant
Nice teacher, you can stop by his office and ask questions. Study the notes for the test and quizes.

He's a great teacher. He's open to help you if you need it, and he's much better than other teachers.
This professor is a genius in disguise. His mind is to complex, full of equations, solutions, and analytical caution. But he wants you to understand the concepts and not fear his mathmatical crazed mind.
He won't help you out if you really need it. Just a typical all numbers, by the book teacher. Take someone else.
TAKE THIS PROFESSOR!!! JACK IS AN OUTSTANDING TEACHER, AND HE'S FUNNY =))
He isnt funny at all! he always goes off topic during class and he is very weird! its an easy class but dont miss it cause you wont know whats going on! i personally thought he wasnt very helpful
Make sure you study his notes, and do all your homework, and you are going to do good on quizzes and tests.. He is a very easy grader.. He thinks he is a comedian with korny jokes, which only make him laugh.
Awesome stats teacher! VERY clear on what to study for quizzes and tests. Only need to study his notes, don't know why I bought the book. He even manages to throw in some jokes which many people don't appreciate. He is a great person and takes time to help you if you need it. Highly recommend him for any math course! Easy if you try!
Very easy teacher! He makes a difficult subject very understandable. His tests and quizzes are EXACTLY what he tells you they will be. Note: don't get too lazy....his final is long and hard!
he is clear all right but when you ask a question regarding test he doesnot like it but he is funny and ask exactly what he teaches i wish his grading was easier.
He is a great teacher! His materials are all clear and he makes hard topics easy and understandable. If you study his notes, you will have NO problem getting A in his class. Oh he's funny too. He's the best statistics teacher.
definitely an obsessive compulsive, always had little rituals or ways of doing things no matter how ridiculous. the final, forget about it very difficult. he does know his stuff though.
Took him over the summer. Not an easy class, and this was elementary statistics. Exams are hard, despite the formulas being provided. Do the homework, projects and get decent grades on the exam, and you'll pass no problem.
I didn't like his teaching methods and for me didn't do a good job of clarifying things. I also think he didn't spend enough time preparing us for quizzes/test, he moved on to the next chapter before we took the test.
Cool guy, really knows his stuff. This course is not easy, don't let anyone tell you it is. So if your not ready to work on your own anyway, don't take this course, let alone this teacher. Otherwise class was enjoyable, making dorky jokes was Jack's way of easing the boredom that stats evokes.Seriously, take him if your going to take Logic/Stats.
This guy is not worth taking if you struggle with math. In my opinion he is absolutely worthless, he spends half the class time talking about the stupidest things. They when you try to ask him to explain thing better he gives some half*ssed statement. This guy doesn't know how to teach, to describe him in one word it would be "SOREL" BIG "SOREL"
He can be very boring sometimes but he knows his stuff. He made Business calculus very easy for the whole class. There are 4 test one of which is the final and 6 quizzes. Homework in mot mandatory like other classes but he recommends doing everyother odd. if you want an A in Business Calculus take him!!!!
I think he is a great teacher with a lot to offer students if they will let him. I found his class to be enjoyable and he helped me anyway he could. I read all the negative comments about this professor and I think that they probably did not pass the class because they did not apply themselves. He always offered help to all the students in/out of cl
This guy sucks. DON'T TAKE HIM !!!
IGNORE ALL OTHER COMMENTS>>WHY SO<? BECUZ I TOOK HIM FOR 3 MATH COURSES and really hard math courses too....I HAVE ACED ALL OF THEM! I'm not a genius and its not rocket science! Do ur homework study ur notes and U'll be set for the whole semester! Believe me!! HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!!!!!
Bad teacher, dont bother taking his classes he's kinda looserish and will bore you to death.
Seriously, I have no idea why people are giving him such bad ratings! Pripusich is an AWESOME teacher who really knows his subject! He'll help in any way he can and i've taken him for 2 math classes and have done really well!! I HIGHLY recommend him! He may not be a "cool" guy but i don't think he could make the subject any easier! TAKE HIM!!!
Awesome teacher. Go to class, do your homework, study a little bit prior to the tests and quizes and you'll have an A. Very helpful. Knows his subject. The best math teacher I've had at COD.
tests would be easy if he explained well. he just writes tons of notes on the board w/out explanation. doesnt answer questions fully. if you miss a test it will take forever to makeup. i got a C in his class and im a straight A student. 6 quizzes, 2 dropped. 4 exams. good luck. sometimes funny
He is very cool teacher, very funny, and there are 3 tests which are very important, because each question is worth a lot of points, but studying the notes will almost be enough, because the question are almost directly from the notes. Overall, I do recommend him, because his class was very fun and entertaining.
I enjoyed this class for the most part. Jack likes to crack jokes and keep his class environment pretty easy going. His tests are fairly difficult, but as long as you study the notes and homework problems he will do well. He is one of if not the best math teacher @ COD. Definitely recommended.
This guy is alright, he is a good teacher, as long as you show up for class!
VERY GOOD math teacher! Explains everything thoroughly...makes the class easy to get through. During the summer...3 tests, 3 quizzes with lowest dropped...hw is not collected! Attendance is important tho, because most of the test questions come from the notes! Highly Recommended!
Great professor, keeps the class fun and has a lot of funny stories. The class itself, was very fair, and coming to class is a must, because the class notes are very important for both the tests and the quizzes.
The BEST Math professor at COD! Just study your notes and attend class and you will reap the rewards. He has some great stories to keep the class from becoming mundane. Also, if you are having problems with a certain section, he will gladly help you. I highly recommend Jack to anyone who needs to take a math course at COD!!!
Great teacher! I would highly recommend him for Stats. I took this last summer. It was a fun, easy-going, laid back class. Attendance is a must because the tests and quizzes come from his notes. It's also helpful to do the hw even though its not collected because you'll see the same type of problems on the tests.
okay teacher.
He's the best math teacher I've ever had. I took his class over the summer & it was tough. We went through A LOT of material in a short period of time. Math is my worst subject, but he made it seem very simple. He gives great, precise, step-by-step notes that are very easy to follow. If you attend class and study your notes, you will get an A!
This teacher is really weird! He talks about the most random things during class. The tests and quizzes are not too bad during the course but his final sucks! I took the summer course and the final took 3 hours! I had a B in the class but failed the final and ended up with a C! He's not as easy as everyone says he is! BEWARE!
He is non helpful overall. We had 3 Quizzes(Drops 1)& 4 Exams(Includes final) A LOT OF WORK FOR A SUMMER CLASS! We ALWAYS stayed the 4 HOURS! Don't screw up on the quizzes & exams cause the final is horrible. U basically have to memorize your notes for quizzes & exams, he sucked as a teacher. Every time it rains, he acts as if the world will end.
Very easy class just study the notes and you will be fine. The class is boring though. He's not that helpful he is always in a hurry. Will keep till the last minute of class.
He is not easy at all!!! I been good at math for all my life, untill now. His notes are easy to understand, but the exames and quizess are very very hard(the grades are based on exam n quiz)You have to study very hard and know exactly every thing on the notes and the book. DON'T TAKE HIM!!!
I would say he is not a good teacher at all! he writes bunch of notes all through out the class, tests and quiz questions are harder then homework examples. He talks about a lot of random stuff. And he would never ever let you leave early. Will Keep you in the class til the last minute no matter what. Take him at your own risk!
dont take this class. extremely boring.i couldnt help but fall asleep. talks about the most random and lamest stories. quizes and exams are different from homework. there pretty hard.makes you stay in class till the last minute. its really hard to pay attention in his class. dont take it.
great guy. very clear
Not a good teacher at all. His class lecture are boring just write stuff on the board. Tests and quizzes are extremely hard and nothing like homework. In order to good in the class u need to memorize his notes! Very disorganized. and final is terrible!!
he's a really good teacher. very nice, fair, understanding, and easy. study the notes and you should be all set for an A. i hope he will teach Business Cal one of these days soon maybe fall 2009 or spring 2010!
The Best....!!!!
funny teacher, TALKS WAYYY TO MUCH. he'll never let u out early, kinda of a ****bag on quizzes and tests. most test/quiz questions are from notes or from book. boring class but he tries to make it fun. but he talks about nonsense WAYYYYY to much.
Nice guy, bad teacher. Very boring, hard to follow, quizes and tests are very different from problems in the book, and he doesn't help at all. He's up tight, all points in this class are from quizes/tests, but he's a nice guy.
THIS GUY IS GREAT! SUPER CHILL BRINGS UP RANDOM STUFF BEST MATH TEACHER IVE EVER HAD I BEGAN 2 TIME HIM AVERGES ABOUT 5 PROBLEMS IN A 50MIN COUSRSE THIS GUY IS A BEAST! FUNNY! HW AINT MANDATORY ATTENDACE IS UP 2 U, TEST AND QUIZZES R NOT BAD CANT GO WRONG WITH THE GUY
The best of all math teacher. he is humorous, helpful and talks about his life in between the class. He like rat and elephant jokes. If u have one share with him.... Neverthless awesome teacher.....Take him... Highly recommended.
great teacher! he's very helpful and his study guides are just like the tests. He tells a lot of stories, but its a good way to kill time in class.
I truly have to say that I absolutely loved going to professor P's class. He has the BEST sense of humor!!!!! Besides that, hes been teaching for quite a while and he defenitely knows what he is doin. The tests are fairly easy..they are right of the notes so always take notes... one con is that he NEVER ever lets you out early!!!!
Okk so i would not say hes the best professor ever...but he sure is entertaining!! ok attendance is mandatory..he is very uptight..and it is actually very hard to follow along with him... he gives tons and tons of notes.. but the class is easy to pass if you put forth the effort...overall I reccomend him!!!!
I took his Stats and Finite class. the tests are out of the notes he provides in class, his lectures are clear, he wont make you feel like an idiot if you go up and ask for help. the only thing people dont like about him is the stories he tells bc half the time its funny and other its out of no where. Dont get me wrong he's a good man, TAKE HIM!
He needs to teach Math 2134!!!
He was a fabulous teacher. I had taken math three times prior to him and I passed with flying colors. He is really helpful if you have any questions hes always there with answers. Also is funny so it easies any tenions and he actually engages with the class. Quizes are straight from the notes. Take him if you want to pass. :)
When I come to think of it, he is probably the best math teacher I have ever had. I took calc with him and his notes are really organized and you really learn well in his class.
Very easy calculus teacher. Organized notes, makes class fun and easy to understand. He is very helpful as well.
He's a nice and understanding teacher. Sometimes, his explaining was a little hard to understand. Homework isn't mandatory. Your grade is based on 4 tests, and 4 quizzes. Overall, he's a pretty good teacher.
Probably the best math teacher I have ever had. He is easy to learn from and is a very good teacher. You do not need the textbook to do good in class. Just practice all the problems he gives you in his notes because he will most likely use them on the quizes and tests.
Probably the best math teacher I have ever had. He is easy to learn from. You do not need the textbook to do good in class. Just practice all the problems he gives you in his notes because he will most likely use them on the quizes and tests.
I have hated math my entire life, and Stats isn't exactly fun or easy no matter who your prof is, but his clear notes, and the book makes it doable with effort and hard work. Definitely one of the best professors I've had at COD. He's a prof who wants his students to succeed.
Never skips steps while solving - that's soo helpful! Easy to follow, takes his time. Quizzes/exams are middle-of-the-road, not too long or too hard. One word: LEGENDARY.
As far as Math teachers go (and I've had my fair share), this one is top notch. Jack is very through while explaining how to solve various problems. He might put you to sleep sometimes (but it's math, right?!) but between the jokes and the lesson, he is a GREAT teacher. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
Really awesome teacher for pre-calc knows what he is doing, his jokes keep the class intresting, had really fun in his summer class. Definately will take in future if needed for any math classes
One of the best teachers at the C.O.D. Highly recommend him for math courses. He explain the material really well and keep the class interested the whole time. Good job sir.
A really good teacher at COD. Go every step by step, so the notes will be really helpful. Tests will be from these notes. He is the MAN!
Great guy, not an excellent teacher.Notes are clear and helps follow along. He's not really willing to help.Talks WAY too much nonsense and his jokes are AWFUL this happens very often and he loses my attention everytime he does that.He says "indeedy" and cheesy stuff like that. He knows his stuff hes just too cheesy and up tight
Jack is an easy professor if you want an A. His tests come directly from the notes, NOT the assigned homework from the textbook. If you know the notes you know the test. However he does include many, and I mean MANY cheesy jokes and phrases into his lecture, but if you don't mind this, he's not a bad professor
BEST TEACHER AT COD!!! He is so helpful, nice, and can even make you laugh in a stats lecture. Although he has so many great reviews, dont be fooled and think its an easy A. You actually do have to work for your grade, however, he is a very fair teacher
VERY difficult class, but Jack makes it understandable and possible to do well in his class. He's a good instructor (a plus for a math course) and really cares about his students. I had an A going into the final but the final was one of the most difficult tests I've ever taken- you must work for your grade, but he's the best/most fair math teacher.
i took both math 2134 and stats 1635 with him. best teacher ever. just take him you wont regret it. tests come right out of the notes. sometimes the test are super easy that you think that he is trying to trick you. if you need help he will definitely help you.
Class is pretty easy, but really boring. He talks a lot about random things and repeats himself a lot. Never used the book and no point doing homework as all his quiz/test problems come from in-class examples.
Class is pretty easy, but really boring. He talks a lot about random things and repeats himself a lot. Rarely uses the book and no point doing homework as all his quiz/test problems come from in-class examples.
Statistics could be a good subject, and extremely useful, but it's hard to care or get anything out of it when the teacher would rather baby you and make everything easier instead of teaching better. REALLY nice guy, but doesn't seem like he really wants to teach, he wants to talk to himself about his life. Class is pointless and drawn out.
Really did NOT enjoy this class, it was extremely boring and he just talks to himself. No class interaction. If you ask a question that he feels is self-explanatory, he gets rude. The class itself isn't too hard, but for tests he says "everything" will be on the test. Towards the end of the semester the tests and quizes are shorter.
I usually hate math, but Uncle Jack made it bearable. Lol but seriously, he is an AWESOME professor. He goes through each and every single step and makes sure each student understands the concepts. His jokes are more on the corny side but they make you laugh regardless. Take him. You won't regret it.
Professor Pripusich is one of the better math teachers at COD. He clearly explains what is on each test and quiz so you are prepared. You just have to show up to class, take notes and study heavily before each exam.
He's an okay teacher. He works well with his students but, he talks A LOT!!! I just wish I didn't miss some of my class time when I was sick because he coves several things in one day's time.
If you want to pass bus calc, take my man Jack
He's amazing at explaining calc! I got a C in PreCalc but did really well in Business Calc. He bases his tests/quizzes off of the notes and drops your two lowest quiz scores. You don't need to do the HW unless you need the extra practice. I've never had someone make math so easy to understand.
He really makes math understandable. His quizzes and tests are literally from the notes he gives us. That means you HAVE to go to class. You only need to use the book for homework, but he doesn't check it. It's only for your benefit.
Reallly nice guy, seriously. Jokes around sometimes and basically you just copy the notes he writes for you.. he almost babies you through the content which is nice because everything is explained well.
he's good at teaching first couple of exams are easy but the other 2 are extremly hard. He teaches one thing in class and throws tricks on the exams. He used to be easy but not anymore. final is killer. . I had a an A through out the whole class but after the 3rd exam i lost it. you grade pretty much based of exams!
Jack is definitely a quirky fellow, if you can get passed his corny elephant jokes and the conversations he was with himself, you should get an A. He is very clear in his notes and what is expected for test and quizzes. He takes off points for the most minuscule errors in your work, even if you end up with the correct answer.
THIS CLASS IS HARD, If you dont show up and slack on studying you will not do that well. With that said John is a great teacher who does a good job of explaining everything very thoroughly. He does lighten the class up with jokes and puns that are stale lol
Very clear in his lectures. Almost does a little too much hand-holding and is repetitive (but I'm realizing a lot of students need this). Quizzes and tests are easy, but the final is long and challenging. I wish he was teaching Calculus next semester because I would definitely take him again.
He goes off topic sometimes, and his jokes may be a little corny but he is the best math teacher I have ever had. If you come to class, pay attention, and take notes you will pass. His notes are easy to understand and you can use them to study for the tests.
Pripusich was one of the best math teachers I've had. Very slow and clear approach to his notes and always makes sure everyone understands what is being taught. You need to attend in order to get the notes as they are the most important tool for studying. Only used the book for practice problems. All points based off of quizzes and tests.
I struggled. Maybe it was because it's my first semester of college. Maybe because my life is more complicated than your average college girl, but he wasn't exactly the (Math) teacher for me. He's a good guy, but the content was difficult for me.
A good teacher
I had him for finite and I thought he was great teacher. His notes are easy to read and if you miss a class you can just ask him for the pages you missed. He does tell really bad jokes, but I think he knows they are not that great. He lets you drop the two lowest quizzes, but if you miss one that counts as a drop, so don't skip those.
Jack is one of the best math professors I've ever had. Go to class, take his notes seriously and you'll be fine. His tests and quizzes are always predictably challenging but never difficult if you do most of the homework for practice (he doesn't collect it for points). He's a bit cheesy but he's a good dude and a great teacher.
Definently an easy A. Tests are exactly like the notes. Easy grader. Highly recommend.
I understand that Statistics is difficult to teach. He did a pretty decent job at teaching it, though this wasn't nearly as easy as other math classes. He's a good teacher, and I think his teaching style fits most students' learning styles (though it didn't fit mine). The class is very note-dependent so it's important to place priority on notes.
Nice teacher. Makes the class straightforward and to the point. You only need to study the notes to pass. The final was tough though, probably because it was cumulative. I had an A all the way through the class and ended up with a B after the final. There's not much work to do for this class, just study hard for the final.
Wonderful teacher!
The class was extremely easy to pass. All quizzes and test were based on notes given in class. The book is not really needed unless you want extra practice. He drops quizzes. Do the best you can on the first four quizzes and you will not have to worry about the last two. Study quizzes and notes before taking the exam and you will pass with an A.
Took the summer class. 3 exams and 1 cumulative final + 3 quizzes. He is amazing at giving noteslecturing you in class. You should pay 100% attention there. Also do SOME of the hw. The exam questions were from random HW problems and same quiz problems! Very easy to get an A if that is done. I didnt do hw problems so i got a B. :(
Worst teacher of my life. Literally doesn't know what he's doing. His notes don't help at all. You have to teach yourself before every test/quiz. Never reviews with you. He goes way to fast. DO NOT TAKE HIM. I've never hated a teacher so much.
how does he have 4.1 as his score?! he's a horrible teacher. Horrible notes and teaching style. Don't even talk about his grading. You have to have the exact definition and answer because if you don't you will get minus three. The answer will have the same general idea but he doesn't accept it. DONT TAKE HIM UNLESS YOU WANT TO FAIL OR BE CONFUSED
didn't like his teaching style much but if you're good at math hes not the worst option. you copy his notes word for word and then that's your stats bible for the semester. pretty much had to reteach myself everything and i studied my lil booty off but still got an B. grades are based on 4 tests + 4 quizzes (best out of 6) + a cumulative final
One of the better math teachers at the college that for sure. I would gladly take his courses again if i needed another math class. Make sure you come to all of the test days and quiz days otherwise you will fail the class. Homework was not taken for points but there is some given to do on your own.
Professor Pripusich is an excellent math teacher. He explains everything clear-cut. Gives advance notice what materials students should expect on quizzes & exams. To do well, come to class and get ready to take Notes, they will be your study guides for quizzes and exams. 5 quizzes, drops 1 with the lowest score. 4 exams and a cumulative final.
Great professor and super easy class. Quizzes and tests are straight from the notes. Just do the homework if you're unsure. If you ever skip class he also let's you take pictures of the notes. He drops one quiz and will also round a 87 to an A. Take him!!
He's the worst teacher! He doesn't teach he just copies his notes and rushes to get through. He is a really tough grade. On top of that he doesn't assign hw or anything to build up your points, so if you're not doing well on the quizzes and tests you won't pass. Do yourself a favor and don't take him if you want to pass this class.
Friendly and easy to listen to, however he sometimes goes off into tangents. Quizzes and exams are extremely easy, in terms of the questions asked - you still need to know how to do them. One con though, on quizzes / exams, he makes definitions worth 6-8 points (out of 100) and the answer needs to be exact otherwise you lose a lot of points.
goes off on goofy stories too often, but lectures are clear and he is very clear on what will be tested on. Notes are available if you miss class, so you can catch up
He lets you drop one quiz at the end of the term. Quizzes and tests are really easy and the questions are basically covered in the notes. He still has lecture after tests, so don't expect to have exam days where you can just leave afterwards. Likes to tell stories that sometimes take a while. Overall, a really terrific teacher.
Professor Pripusich is a great teacher and that knows how to teach finite math. He explained concepts in an understandable way, and comes to class with a great attitude. I would definitely take another course by Jack, and recommend anyone needing a finite math credit to take him!
Finally a professor who teaches! Bust your tail taking notes & studying, youll have everything. Consistent office hours where great! Nicest guy always there to support & help anyway he can. Tests/quizzes are tricky but if you understand the material youll be fine. It was a pleasure being in his class! A is doable if other teachers are as organized
Honestly one of the best math teachers at cod. Everything covered in the notes tend to usually be on quizzes/tests. He sometimes reviews what type of problems to expect. 5 quizzes lowest gets dropped and 4 tests plus final. Hw isn't collected but I recommend doing because he sometimes uses exact problems on tests. Definitely would take him again.
Best math professor at COD, by far! Jack is a great teacher, he knows what he's teaching, and is great at making sure everyone understands the material. No need to buy the book, tests and quizzes are based off of the notes. He lets you take pictures of his notes if you ever miss class. I hope I can take another class with him before I leave COD.
Jack is awesome! The guy is kinda old but hes super funny. Hes been teaching for a long time and he always wants to put smiles on his students faces and see them have fun with the subject. If your taking stats go for Jack!
I took statistics and calculus with him. He's the best math professor at COD. Study notes and you'll get your grade. If I had to take another math class, I would definitely take his class.
This teacher does not teach at all. All he does is put up notes you have to copy and that's it. He doesn't even stop to let us try the examples out, he just writes them up. Also, he said we required a BRAND NEW textbook for the class. We used it once and when I tried to have the school buy it back, I couldn't since it's not being used next semester
good teacher, tell's you whats on exams and quiz. Do not need book, just attend class and copy his lecture notes. Easy A. Best math professor for an A.
Great professor. You will do well if you do the practice problems and treat the lecture notes as your Bible.
Your grade is based on 4 quizzes, 4 exams, and the final. Take good notes and study them well! The same/similar examples show up on the exams. The textbook can be used for extra practice, but the notes are much more useful. He takes attendance at the beginning of class and after break. Very easy to approach with questions or concerns.
Took professor Pripusich for Stats and PreCalc. Basically go to class, copy the notes exactly and study those. Tests/quizzes are literally straight from the notes for the most part. Did not use the book at all, instead used his class examples to study and always ended up well. Grade is based on 4 tests 4 quizzes and 1 final.
Honestly, he wasn't a bad teacher but he wasn't great either. His tests are directly off his notes. The tests aren't bad but he's picky with grading so make sure you do exactly what it says or what he expects.
He talks a lot about stuff that isn't related to the class. His notes are clear though on what you should expect on your quizzes and exams so just study the notes. Honestly you don't need to show up for class if you can get the notes. Oh and he cracks a bunch of cheesy jokes that make your eyes roll.
Jack tries to have a lot of fun with the class, and I really respect him for that. His lectures consist of him writing under the projector and explaining. He does cover a lot of material at once, so I wouldn't advise missing class, but he does allow you to take pictures of the notes you missed. Get ready for some bad jokes!!!
If you struggle with math, than I would highly recommend Prof. Pripusich. He gives very clear lectures. As long and you take awesome notes than you will pass with flying colors. All quizzes and test are based off the examples in the notes! No tricks! Do yourself a favor and take him!
show up to class, and take good notes, and take the time to study after class you will do good! test and quizzes come from notes, so there is no surprise! start off on the right track and you will be fine! notes are long & u do need to study them after class dont buy the book, or do those problems) just follow and do the note examples over and over
Clear and easy lectures. Math is easy for me, so it was a little slower than I am used to, but that is okay, He is a very nice person, I recommend him.
study hard on notes and you will pass with flying color
4 Tests. 5 quizzes but 1 is dropped. And the final. As long as you show up and take good notes you should be fine! Quizzes and tests are based on the notes so as long as you know the notes real well you should pass without a problem. He also seemed like a very nice person. I would definitely recommend him for anyone taking statistics at CoD.
Great guy, probably the best professor at COD. Just study the notes, go to class, and you should be just fine. He makes bus calc easier for students who struggle with math (like me)
He explains things in a very straightforward way. Take good notes, study them, and you should be fine. The book is not necessary to buy, just study his examples. Overall, very good math teacher. Attendance and good note-taking skills are the best way to pass his classes. (Even if you miss class one day, he'll let you take a picture of the notes)
If you miss class a lot, this is not for you. If you show up and do the homework every day, you will have no problem at all. Great professor!
He's got to be one of the most caring professors on campus. I am bad at math and I had an A in his class the entire semester. It is next to impossible not to pass his class. The final IS cumulative but it's very doable if you take notes. He gives great notes so write them down!! The class is graded on 4 exams, 5 quizzes, and the final.
His outline for the semester is very "old fashioned", 4 tests and 5 quizzes. The homework he assigns is optional, sadly it is basically useless when studying for a quiz or test. He basically says to rely on the notes but doesn't narrow it down. He offers examples but uses the same numbers and words for new ones so it gets confusing between chapters
He ain't that bad of a teacher. But I personally don't like his attitude, he is a stubborn guy. I asked him my score on the finals and he didn't tell me. What kind of professor will not tell you your score? He doesn't even post anything on Bb. So it's kind of impossible to know how you did. I really expected B in his class but end up getting C.
Excellent teacher! You dont need a book for the class. Just butn the notes he gives to memory and next thing you know you wake up with an A under your pillow, its like the tooth fairy be uppin her game, its like she be droppin As. Ayyyyyy.
If you hate math and/or are bad at math like me, TAKE HIM. I usually hate going to math, but honetly I didn't mind it with him. He's very helpful and explains everything thoroughly. I don't know what else to say other than to take him. I'm already registered to take him again.
I took professor J twice, and all I can say is that he is very passionate and caring. He explains the material so well and his tests are exactly like the notes. HW is extra practice which I recommend. If you skip class though, do not take him.
5 quizzes and 5 exams. he asks everything from what you do in class so focused on notes and you will get an an B easily i didnt focused that much so got a c.
John was an amazing instructor. He enjoys what he does and will not hesitate to clear up any confusion. Give yourself at least 2 days to practice all of his board problems for quizzes and tests. Final exam was overwhelming and confusing for part of it. Know the sequence of formulas; they are not in order and many are put in just to confuse you.
Jack is definitely an old-school professor. If you like things to be done online, he is not the professor for you. He does all of his lectures on the overhead projector and hand-writes the notes as he goes. He clearly knows what he is talking about and wants to be there for his students. Overall, a really nice guy who will look out for you.
He is a great teacher. You need to pay full attention in lectures and all of his tests are from the practice problems in your notes. Do not do the homework or get the book! Keep on practicing the example problems and you will do great! He is a very funny guy as well.
**Jack** Pripusich is an amazing professor and I highly recommend taking him! He genuinely wants his students to pass! His in-class notes can be lengthy but they help a lot! He always explains what will be on the tests and quizzes (they are handwritten by him each semester). Taking him for my math courses at COD was the best decision i made!!
Jack is really a great professor. He's very pleasant and easy to get along with, even if his jokes can be a bit goofy. If you show up to class every day and take good notes you should do fine. All the quiz and test problems are similar to what you cover in class. He also provides all the formulas needed which is really helpful. Take his class.
I was skeptical taking him because of his reviews, but after taking him i dont understand why his reviews arent higher. Hes an amazing math teacher and I have a super hard time understanding math. No book needed he gives amazing math notes. Best math teacher Ive had in a LONG time. Highly recommend!!
This teacher does not prepare you for higher-level math courses. Teaches you to the test which does not help you when you transfer to a University. GPA is irrelevant if you are academically unprepared. If you are earning a 2-year degree, choose him. If you are transferring to a 4-year, and need more math, you might want a different teacher.
Professor Jack* is an amazing professor. If you don't attend the class, you can get the notes from him later. Personally, I didn't even bother doing the homework because all of the quizzes and exams were from the notes, so notes is the real key in this class. His lectures are interesting and not boring. I highly recommend him for Stats 1635.
Show up to class and take good notes. Tests and quizzes are very similar to the notes that he writes during class. I would argue that you don't really need the textbook, but it was helpful for extra examples. He is a very good teacher who cares about his students' success. So sad that he's retiring, would love to take more math courses with him.
not very approachable, doesn't really even help you during office hours, touchy, got mad at my friend and I for "putting our pens down too loudly."Grades harshly, but will tell you whats on the quiz/exam for the most part. No assigned hw but he'll give a general idea of what to do from the book. only graded by 4 tests/5quizzes.
doesn't grade for attendance but decides how he'll grade the final based on who comes to class, class is so long and boring that you'll find you teach yourself more than he teaches you. I've gotten an A-B in most of my math classes, and failed his class even though I put in hours of work. Theres a reason he thinks the class is hard, but hes just BAD.
Glad hes retiring,he really just doesntt grade in a way that prepares his students for anything, graded by 4 tests 5 quizzes, and thats it,quizzes are only about 8 question, tests about 12. final was only 19 questions,HOW IS THAT FAIR TO OUR GRADE? its almost impossible to do well if you get test anxiety, because the tests/quizzes are the only grades.
Professor P was a great teacher if you really apply yourself you can get the grade you want. i slacked off in the beginning and at the end was trying to dig myself out of a hole. He really helps you if you ask for it. great professor
Took his 1431 and it was my fault that I did not get a grade better than a C, aside from that he is a great professor, clear and fair grader. Test and Quizzes will be almost exactly like his his lecture notes, so there is no reason to not pass his class unless you skip or don't take notes. He will help everyone pass!
