He was hella cool. He has the easiest test ever. He gives you all of the answers. He gvives extra credit, and he is an easy grader.
He is nice and easy. He is a little boring, but he knows his stuff and likes to teach.
I really liked him, though he can get kind of long winded. If you can make it through his bad jokes, he's really easy, and gives you the answers to the tests before you take them.
I would recommend him because he gives the answers to the tests and he has interesting information.
Interesting topic, boring professor.
Great teacher, a lil boring, but fill out questions in class, study, keep up on binder, you'll get an A
No Comments
Is very easy, keep up with the study guide and be there for the review section. He gives you the answers to both the midterm and final, all it is is memorization. Even if you miss class on a regular basis it is still easy to get an A
Dr Proyer is very helpful and very easy, just don't get behind on the resource binder, he gives you all the answers to both the mid term and final. Anyone can get an A
its an easy A. I reccomend using a disc instead of paper for the study guide....you will save a lot of ink and paper. you do fun activities in the class.
This class was not hard at all. He gives all the answers for the final and midterm. There is a essay for the class but he doesn't grade hard. There is also a resource folder due at the end of the semester, it is easy. Anyone can get an A
A good fair teacher. His lectures are boring and he only presents the information that supports his own beliefs. His binder textbook was a complete waist of time.
if you want to take a college class that is a waste of time and doesn't teach you ANYTHING, then his class is for you. i started counting the number of times he said "uh" because i was so bored. he also is terrible with spelling, it is embarassing that he is a professor
Dr. Pryor is awesome. I think upper division GE is BS but I did enjoy taking California Studies with him!He has a passion for California and its obvious when he teaches, I learned alot about the "Golden State"
VERY VERY EASY CLASS! After the midterm I realized there was no point of going to class until review day, when he goes over every question. He's an amazing professor. Resource binder took a lot of trees & ink but I will use it in the future when I teach.
He. Can. Not. Spell.
I think I only showed up to class on reviews and tests days. Very easy class but do the folder and paper ahead of time so you don't need to worr about it during your other finals. Easy A
Uh...this class is an easy A, if you can take horrible spelling and dry as dust story telling. It didnt help that my interest in the class was nil. I ditched half the time and only got a B cuz I missed the review session of one test and therefore botched it. He's a nice guy, though.
Forgive him for his spelling, he really does know a lot of stuff. Taking him gets you out of buying a textbook and he practically spoon feeds you the two tests you take with the review sessions. Overall, he's a nice guy and he won't try to kill your GPA.
UUGGHH he is very boring. I stopped going to class after one week and got an A in the class. He gives you midterm and final questions and answers before the tests so all you have to do is memorize. Plus you only need to go to class on review days to get the answers. There is a resource binder that is very easy just takes time. Easy A but boring guy
I definitely recommend this professor! I took this class as an upper GE requirement. Easy class....Don't have to come to class all the time. He gives you a review for all of the tests and all the questions on the review are on the test! Plus there's a review day where you go over all the answers. Easy A...
Lectures are SO BORING. You can definitely do other HW in this class. Tips for getting an A: come to class often. He takes 'random' attendance [since NOONE COMES to is class] which is worth some points, do a little extra cred, work on easy resource binder, make 90-120 flashcards for exams and MEMORIZE MEMORIZE and you'll get a garunteed A
He is a very boring teacher. But he gives a study guide for the midterm and final, and gives all the answers to the study guides as a review. All the test questions come straight from the study guides so they are very helpful
He was very structured, which I really like. The students always knew what to expect every day. He was flexible on due dates, which was great because I had 4 essays due in two days. The grading was fair. Overall, I'd take another class from him anytime.
Attendance is not taken nor is it mandatory. You can come late or not at all and he doesn't mind. Just 2 exams, a time-consuming resource binder & an 8-10 pg paper. He never gives 100% to anyone- even if its that good- which is annoying. o & he doesnt have 1 review day anymore. now he reviews as he goes along so that more ppl come to class!
Dr. Pryor is a great professor that knows his stuff pretty well but sadly he is not good in spelling. He gives you the answers for the SG. The midterm& Final is an easy A!
This class is super easy. Make sure you keep up with the resource folder. It's time consuming and takes time to do. It's easy, but dont hold it off till the last day because it takes a while to complete. He's horrible at spelling but other than that, no complaints! It's an interesting course. Enjoy.
I took this class over winter break-easy A! no attendance is required, hands out study guide for exams, goes over answers as he lectures, 2exams and it's the same exact info thats on the reviews. Resource folder-a bit time consuming but easy! Just complete everything he says and you'll do fine. He's a great professor, I definatly recommend him=)
John Pryor is an AMAZING professor. Sure, his class was easy but I really learned a lot, and retain the information. On his power point presentations there are tons of spell errors, but c'mon he is a Ph.D, you think he could have completed his dissertation with simple spelling errors? I think he does it for fun. Passionate and caring professor!
Good teacher. Tests are EXACTLY the same as the study guides, just with less questions. Stay on top of the resource folder, its super easy just very time consuming if you try and do it all at once. Overall an easy course.
His study guides are exactly what is on the test. He is amazing sometimes lecture seems boring but its not like your going to die boring. He is very knowledgable about the material so any question you have he is more than happy to respond! DEF take him
This class is extremely boring but very easy. His lectures are very boring. The tests are very easy because he gives you a study guide with all the answers. The resource folder is a project you have to do for the class, it's easy but time consuming. He is a very easy grader.
great professor! study guide questions are whats on the tests. the tests are all short answers but if you just study the study guide you'll pass. theres two tests, one paper, and a portfolio due at the end of the semester but do it as you go on through the weeks because new things are posted every week. EASY A!!
Knows his stuff. Everything was interesting. Learning about primates were awesome!
This guy was great. He made the class more interesting by having great intellectual videos and bringing in extra material and engaging us in them. This professor knew his stuff because his lecture was on topic and informational. Best Teacher I had here with the greatest expertise in his field and in the teaching field. Attend class and listen for A
Dr. Pryor is a passionate professor. It's obvious he enjoys teaching the course and his lectures are interesting if you are actually listening. The study guide and exams are EXACTLY the same. There are NO surprises plus he goes over the answers in class and there is a huge extra credit opportunity. This course is definitely an easy A.
Pryor is an amazing professor! I usually hate anthropology, but his lectures made things interesting. Also, he makes it easy because the study guide is exactly like the exam. If you go to class and study you can easily get an A or B
Dr. Pryor is an amazing professor! He reall does get you into the world of anthro and makes it very easy to understand. THE MAN IS SO GOOD WE HAVE NO TEXT BOOK, and the test are easy as long as you go to class and listen to the man! He is out here trying to pass us all and make sure we fall in love with anthro...CANT BEAT THAT! :]!!
Interesting class. Pryor is very striaght forward. Totall 300 point in the class. Exams worth 60, paper 80, folder 100. Exams are super easy. Great GE course.
Go to class and fill out the study guide, make a deck of flash cards and you will have an A on the midterm and final. Put time into the paper and resource folder, you will have an A. Go to the Anthroplogy Club meetings and you will get EC. Good guy, has a lot of funny jokes.
Pryor is one of my favorite Anthro professors at Fresno State! He will give you two study guides that are composed of any possible question that you may see on the midterm or final, and then he goes over each question with the class to make sure that you all have the info correct! Interesting lecture, very intelligent, great class!!!! Recommend!
One of the best teachers in anthro. Very passionate about it. Tells lots of stories and tries to make it interesting for all. Gives two study guides with actual questions from test.one paper you choose topic. no text book, only down fall is making your own. Overall easy and interesting. GO TO CLASS!!! and take notes, makes life easier.
Excellent, highly recommend this internship program. He was a huge help getting me into a great internship, plus I was able to work in the lab sorting through daub, organics, and all that other stuff. I definitely learned a lot. He is very flexible, just make sure you keep him updated on your progress.
Great Upper G.E. class. 1 midterm, 1 paper, resource folder, and a final. Gives 2 study guides with the exact questions. He picks 30 out of the 50 Q's for the tests. Easy A as long as you show up and fill out the study guide. Resource folder is a copy and paste job due at the end of the semester.
Took this class over winter break. Really Easy. He gives you the study guides for both the mid term and final. Someone from a pervious semester made flashcard for the study guides. Cram.com. Easy A and good teacher!
Easy A. 2 Exams, An 8pg paper, and a Resource Folder, which is pretty straightforward and simple. Gives you study guides that consist of up to 80 questions, of which 20 will be on the exam. Make sure to get all the right answers for your study guide. Just memorize the study guide with flash cards and do well on the paper and you should get an A.
The resource folder is the BIGGEST PAIN. Super easy but very time consuming so don't wait till the last minute to do it!! No textbook, exams are based off his lectures and a study guide is given for the exam q's. Every once in a while he asks the class for the answers as a review for everyone. Repetitive!
EASY A, YES! But Oh my goodness, one of the more boring class you will ever take. His monotonous voice will lull you to sleep. By the end of the semester you would have counted over 100s of "ums" in his lectures. Passionate professor about the subject but his instructions are so so so boring! I cannot emphasize enough on how boring it is!
Dr. Pryor is 1 of the BEST professors out there in Fresno State. He is there to help u pass the class; not to fail u. He is always there for u. He replies to emails as soon as he gets it or when he can. I emailed him many times and he replied back very quick. If u messed up on the resource folder, he'll give u another chance to redo it.
Dr. Pryor is very passionate about what he teaches, and it shows. Although, his lectures may be a little dull, he is still a great professor! He strives to see his students succeed, not fail. His class was easy. Show up, take notes & pass his class with an easy A. He gives you a list of possible exam questions and you study from there! Recommend.
Honestly, this class was super easy. One 8-10 page paper (pictures are okay), 1 resource folder, 1 midterm, and 1 final. No homework throughout the semester, just the resource folder which is copy and paste. He is really understanding when it comes to deadlines, just talk to him. No textbook.
Easy Class. One 8-10 research paper (you can chooses from 6 topics), 1 resource folder (copy and paste material), midterm, and final (he gives study guides if its not on the study guide its not on the test). No homework or textbook. offeres extra credit .
Great professor, great GE class. I love that he doesn't overload on assignments/exams, it makes me take time to enjoy the class and learn something new!
1. No text book, make your own its simple. 2. 2 exams 3. 5 page paper 4. gives out LOTS & LOTS of extra credit 5. do not need to show up to class, but if you do he gives out extra points randomly if you do show up 6. notes are not on blackboard 7. print out review sheet
Dr. Pryor is very enthusiastic about subject matter pertaining to his career and academic experience. However, because this class covers a broad range of topics, this comes as a fault to his discussion of anything not related to archaeology specifically. He tends to be less approachable and falls behind on getting back to students for questions.
Professor Proyr is well educated and is passionate about what he teaches, however his lectures are dull. He also has you fill out two study guides that has at least 92- 100 questions, and only 25 questions from each study guide are on each midterm exam and final. The exams are open ended questions, and he also is a tough grader on exams.
He was pretty easy. Lectures were kinda boring, but offered tons of extra credit. But study study study for the tests.
Easy A. Lectures are extremely boring though. Class wasn't mandatory. There will be one midterm & final exam. All questions are from the midterm/final review. Just memorize answers- he answers them in sections on any random given day. One big resource folder due on the last day. Easy, but tedious. Get started on it early as possible.
No textbook. At all. You make your own workbook. He's a really great prof. John really wants you to learn. Totally take a class with him again.
Professor Pryor gives out a lot of extra credit. If you are in need of help he is always willing to help you even if he has a lot of things on his hand. He may get off topic, but the stories are mainly about his experience of his work. He is an amazing professor, but his lectures are kinda boring. If you can get past that you can definitely pass.
took him for both anthro161 and Socsci110. scored A both classes. Both classes workload are same way. 1 midterm, 1 final, EASY 10 page paper, and a resource folder which is just copy and paste (SUPER EASY). u r given a study guide and answers for it. Basically, the test are in your hands. Just Memorize that, do ur work and you will for sure pass!!
I had him for Anthro 161 and I enjoyed the class. He is an easy teacher if you show up and pay attention. He gives you the midterm and final study guides at the beginning of the units and you fill them out as he lectures. He has a paper and a resource folder also, but if you follow the instructions, he's an easy A. I would take this class again.
Lectures were organized, 4-5 hours of movies, no book, & 40+ extra credit points. 1 midterm, one 8-pg paper, 1 resource folder, & 1 final. The resource folder (highest pts) is extremely easy but takes 6-7 hours, and gives you chances to redo them for more points. Study guides' questions are the same on tests, but tests are written & T/F. Fun man,
No textbook, you put together your own but its super easy. He doesnt care if you show up but sometimes hell give extra credit to those who do. Lectures are going to be really boring if you arent an anthro major. Exams werent bad he gives you a study guide.
He's great! Come to class just cuz it's worth it. You'll learn a lot about Native Indians in this class and the history of California. He's passionate and understanding. His assignments are straight forward
Although this class was one of those where you could just skip every single day and still pass as long as you did the small amounts of work, I find it a very sloppy style as you only get graded by so few things. Meaning, if you fail 1 or 2 big assignments, you're capable of getting a C or even fail if you mess up significantly on just a few works.
He's a funny guy and has such a fun class. He's willing to bring things into class so you can get hands on experience from his lectures. Graded on a midterm, final, a paper, and a resource folder (don't wait last minute to do it) which is all extremely simple. His lectures are fun and he provides tons of extra credit throughout the semester.
Easy A! 2 test, 8 page paper, and a resource folder. Not hard at all! Make sure you print out his study guide and he gives you all the answers in class. The test questions are straight from the study guide. No book!
I would miss this class almost everyday. I missed it for a whole month at one point, I would only show up to take tests. He has a midterm and a final. The resource folder is probably the most time consuming assignment. I waited until the day before it was due to do it. It is possible to finish it in one day but don't wait until the last minute.
Dr. Pryor is not given enough credit. He is a great professor who is passionate about his profession and makes sure you get something out of the course. He grades a midterm and final, a paper, and the resource folder (also offers EC). All simple things to do, just pay attention and put in effort. Attendance is not mandatory, but it pays off to go.
He's a character through and through. Cares about the students, provides many opportunities to succeed and the class itself is straightforward. Whatever you take from him, it'll be likely one of your easier and best classes that semester. Take his class, learn, and move on as it is a GE class. Great guy, the picture of an understanding teacher
Very easy class. 1 essay, 2 tests, 1 resource folder and tons of extra credit. Study guides are given to you, and many different options to choose from when writing the essay.
Pryor is an amazing professor and his lectures are actually pretty interesting if you pay attention. Very few assignments and sg are the answers to both midterm and final. Definitely recommend him !
Like all the other comments the resource folder is the most time consuming, however overall the course is very easy and chill. His exams are straight from the reviews. I just don't like how the review have over 100 question and the exams are only 25-30 question consisting of T/F and free response questions. Start early on resource folder and STUDY!
Dr. Pryor is an understanding and overall great professor. Easy class but do reach out if you are having any problems, he is happy to help. There are 2 tests, one 5 page essay, and a big resource folder. There is even extra credit! Test questions are all from the study guides provided. Take this class with him, you won't regret it!
Professor Pryor was amazing! His lectures are a little long but are funny and easy to follow and understand. The only thing that was a little time consuming was the resource folder, but it's not difficult to complete. He is also very available for help outside of class and provides study guides that are helpful on the test, if you fill them out.
Professor Pryor is very caring towards his students. He'll always send out emails for reminders or clarification on any assignments. He assign 2 exams, one 8-10 page essay (sort of easy), and some small quizzes for extra credit. One big assignment that you'll be doing from the start to end is a resource folder, don't slack on this one.
The class should be offer fully online. Instructor lectures heavy and a lot of work, but doable class.
He is truly one of a kind! Dr. Pryer's classes are fun and informative. You can tell he loves what he does. There's so much extra credit you are almost guaranteed a passing grade. Take a look at his picture on the first floor of the Kremen building.
Dr. Pryor is a nice guy, but his teaching style is very old-school and a bit boring. His classes are VERY lecture heavy with no opportunities to interact with him or other students. The subject matter is actually very interesting, but it's hard to really learn or enjoy the content when you're constantly stressed over taking notes.
Midterm and final were easy, the study guides had the same questions. There's an 8-10 page paper but pictures are included in the page count. One can also choose to do a lesson plan instead of the paper, which is still 8 pages tho. Also, don't procrastinate on the resource folder, it's easy just a lot of work. Lots of lectures but easy class.
2 exams, 1 resource folder, and a 8-10 paper. Self paced and lots of lecture videos. Can be boring but overall he seems like a funny guy. Not too bad and pretty easy. He gives out lots of extra credit so take advantage of it !!
Did not learn anything in this class TBH. Lecture videos were kinda long and not as entertaining so it made learning material tiring. He grades pretty good but there's only 1 paper, 2 midterms, and 1 resource folder. Midterms are short response questions which the study guide for them asks THE SAME QUESTIONS AS THE MIDTERM, so pretty easy.
This class was easy and hardly showed up since attendance wasn't mandatory. Only two exams and a resource folder. The study guide is on quizlet. He talks very quiet and lecture heavy. Def would go to review days tho. Overall, easy class and hella ec opportunities.
Easy class, graded by a few things. Midterm and Final is made up of questions from the study guide.
There are only two midterms, one paper, and one project. I went to class every day before the midterm and realized that I didn't have to. All of the answers were given out the day before the test and only had to be memorized. The class is entirely based on google slides and gets boring after a while. The paper and project were graded very easily.
Great professor. You have a midterm, 8-10 page paper, a resource folder, and a final. Also, there is extra credit.
