Awesome teacher. All tests are very easy since all the answers come off your take-home tests. You can also share answers with other people. He's also very funny and makes it impossible to not get at least a B.

He is a really good professor who knows what he is talking about. His quizzes can be a bit hard, but he gives enough extra credit for you to pass. The class can be boring sometimes but he tries to keep it interesting.

this guy is GREAT..but you need almost perfect score in everything including attendance to get the A. need almost perfect test scores to get A. tests are 50 home question with random 25 from the home test on the in class test,than randon 50 from home test 1and2 for the midterm.papers gotta b on time

Better psychology professor than the previous one from Fall 2004. He makes the class stress-free, and fun too. YOU determine your grade in the class. One more thing, he engages students in class discussions, instead of giving a boring lecture; which is a +. Highly recommended for a psych professor

I have to say learning about how to teach is better than I thought it would be. In his own words its about "sparking a flame not filling the vessel". His method of teaching may be unusual, but believe it or not you will remember and learn for a lifetime! Do the take home tests & he goes over them!

WONDERFUL professor.he gives 4 take home tests and when it's time to hand them in he'll go over it and and the in class/midterm/final is everything on the take homequizzes.you determing ur grade,theres only 1 presentation and you have extra credit work as well as book work but, very easy A++++...

This guy is so funny! He has 2 rules. You don't have to do anything you don't want to, and you determine your grade using the point system. So, of course you want to do everything you can do to get the "A."He believes in open discussion and communication, so the class sits in a circle for lectures.

I took educational psy with this guy.He 's a very nice guy but his point ystem is crazy.

Just finished summer class with him. EXCELLENT! The point system works YOU DETERMINE YOUR GRADE. You don't do the work, you suffer, not him. You can track your progress daily and always take advantage of the bonus/extra points offered - they are a great BUFFER just in case. I didn't think I would like the class and ended up loving it GREAT SYST

Professor has a point system that is tricky at times. You decide how much work you want to do, and then get the appropriate grade. Quizes are open book, and exams are directly from the quizes. Demands class participation. I personally think the lectures were boring, and he talks to us like we're kids, but he did TRY to keep our attention.

Great teacher with a VERY different grading system. System based on points. Needed 120+ points for an A. Example: 1-2 wrong questions on a 50 question test was 10 points, 3-4 wrong, 7 points, etc. Great since he gives you the questions BEFORE the test! He gives you 100 and chooses 50. Highly recommended.

He teaches so well. He's really easy going. Take him if you have an LD because he understands what LDs are and how to work with them, unlike most of the professors at MCC.

Professor Ramirez is very clear, helpful, and fun the class is easy to follow. He is very specific on the homework, projects and quizzes. I would recommend to register for his classes, Intro, Child and Educational Psy. A GREAT TEACHER:-)

he is a great teacher. he allows you to determine your own grade. You must observe for 25 hours in a school but is not a stickler on it. the point system he uses doesnt seem like it will add up but it will. midterm and final are basically a carboncopy of the take home tests. highly recommended.

I agree people say this is an easy A it is not. the point system stinks you would have to get everything perfect in order to get an A. If you mess up on any of the quiz's or test u are screwed. Beware of this one class the professor is really nice but you get penalyzed if u miss class. NOT AN EASY CLASS TO PASS

He's such a nice prof. There's no suprises in the class because his point system laysout everything u need to do for an A. It's true u have to do perfectly. But, the homework is asking ur opinion, which means you cant get it wrong. There's take home quizes that you can check over with classmates & they're the test questions. Just do what he asks.

Everyone complains about the point system.. its pretty darn easy. Just do the work, review the homequizzes with the class when class starts. Its that easy! I didn't bust my ass and I got a B+. If I applied myself I could have gotten an A. Go for it.

BEST EVER! TAKE HIM IF U want an A. Juss dont miss any classes and do all the easy assignments, save all your quizes cause all the tests questions come from them! Hes funny too ;)

He is pretty much easy but if you don't get all the points, then u don't get A. He doesn't count Exam as getting points if you get more than 5 wrong (45/50) or (20/25). IT's kinda messed up but take him if you can study hard and get everything right in the exam. If you get more than 1 wrong in exam, you don't get all the points, then you won't get

He is a great person and funny but take the class serious as stated his point system sucks when it comes to test so study for the test. He does makes the class fun and enjoyable. I recomend him if you do not want to slack because you will have to work for your grade!

Prof. Ramirez is great!!! He is amusing and actually utilizes many of the teaching strategies you learn in his class. You have to be willing to work for the grade you want... but if you do the work its easy. Like he says you don't have to do anything you dont want to, and he is always willing to compromise with you. He is a great professor and is very good at what he teaches. He grades you on a point system and always has a mato "you don't have to do anything you don't want to" but basically you work for your grade and I definitely reccomend you to take his class.

BEWARE OF HIS GRADING SYSTEM!!!! his point system seems easy at first but in reality you need almost perfect attendance and perfect test scores to get a good grade. he is a sweet and funny guy who relates the material into interesting convos but his grading system seriously sucks and becuase of it i wouldnt take him ever again

Being in John Ramires class was a lot of fun. In all truth it was the easiest class I ever took at MCC. Follow his directions. The idea is if you want an A,earn it. I wish I could take him to Rutgers,because then I know I will learn and have fun at the same time. A great teacher to learn from and take responsibility for ones-self.

The class is a breeze. He's great if you're just taking it for the credits (like me), but if you really want to learn psych than stay away. Your papers don't even have to be good - you get points just for doing them! The easiest of A's.

Prof. R. is by far the memorable of all my instructors from kindergarten to the nursing program I am attending now at Middlesex. He made it so interesting, so much fun. I had been out of school for years but his class was just what I needed to boost my nerve. I'm grateful.

At first I didn't like his teaching style or grading system, but over time I grew to understand the method to his madness. He got most of the students to read the book, though some didn't due to his "sharing" policy (where you get take home quizes, & are supposed to share answers with classmates). Good Teacher!

I had him for educational psy. he made class interesting and fun. We never took notes at all. Four of the test were take home and we had 3 weeks to hand in each of them. You have to do a lot of homework to get an A. The homework is fairly easy. He offers a lot of extra credit assignments.

Ramirez is awesome.. I took him 4 times (Intro Psyc, Child Psyc, Educ Psyc, and Edu 280). His grading is by points and he gives you extra credit to get more points if needed. He is very kind and cares for his students. I wish I could take him again but I already took all the classes he teacher :)

His point system is weird but once you get the hang of it it's all down hill from there. Take home quizzes are straight out of the book but finding answers might be tough. Work is annoying but easy to pass his class nonetheless. And attendance counts BIG TIME! Lots of extra credit! Take him :)
