Can be a bit long winded in class, if you study the material and do the reading (he gives A LOT) the class is not hard.

Lots of reading, pretty in depth and lengthy tests. Multiple choice tests a bonus. Showed us a lot of movies towards the end of the semester, which was pretty nice. Accidently slept through a test once and he let me make it up that week.

a lot of reading, hard multiple choice tests, class can be a bit boring sometimes, try not to fall asleep, especially at 925 in the morning.

This guy is so nice, one of the best for anthro. He gives some reading, but it's really not that hard. He's very fair on tests and if you have a dispute, he'll give you credit. If you are a lazy **** don't take him and go to Trident.

He goes over everything on the test in class. He assigns about 3 chapters and 4 essays for each test, you don't have to read these to make a B+ He is an awesome guy. He shows cool movies!

Very nice guy with a great sense of humor. Tests aren't that bad, less that average amounts of reading, and considers credit for alot of wrong answers. Take him.

Good teacher, nice, and helpful. Anthropology is not all it is cracked up to be and if you are taking it just for the heck of it like I did then think again it brought my GPA down instead of up!

he's a very good professor and loves to teach. his upper level classes are a little bit more difficult than the 101 class but as long as you read the material and listen/come to class, you'll get a good grade.

Beware! I heard he was a great professor from students who had him for 101, but 327 is terrible! He assigns INSANE amounts of reading and says he will explain them, and the lectures are VERY boring. He grades very hard on the essay part of the test, which is usually something he never explained

Dr. Rashford makes the subject very interesting. I was not interested at all in the subject and am now considering a minor in it! A lot of studying and only 3 multiple choice tests including the final! No extra credit so study hard and pay attention and you'll pass!

Wonderful person, easy teacher, very knowledgeable about his subject and excited about teaching. Material is interesting and not at all complicated. Workload quite do-able and tests are very easy. Cares about his students and asks for their opinion when possible. Highly recommended!

Very nice teacher. If you pay attention in class and do the assigned readings you are guaranteed a good grade. Homework consists of assigned readings given well in advance. No quizzes. Two exams and a final exam all worth 1/3 a piece of your final grade.

Speaks softly so sit up front. Class is interesting, but sometimes I would be bored to tears. I got an A because I went to class (attendance is HUGE) and tried to pay as much attention as I could spare. Study hard for the tests and cover all material he tells you to.

He is a great teacher. lots of documentaries. The only thing I did not like was at the end of class if we didn't have any ?'s we would just sit and say nothing until class was over. He keeps you until the very last second of class. If you don't have any questions, you play the staring game with him.

Class seems more like a conversation than a lecture. He is a nice guy who is really interested in anthropology. The tests are easy if you do the reading. There is a lot of it, but he lets you know plenty of time ahead. One of my favorite profs this year!

Dr. Rashford is one of the most intelligent people I have ever met. He really loves Anth. and looovvveeesss Plants. There is alot of reading but there are no papers or essays due during the semester. Tests are fairly easy. All multiple choice. Take Dr. Rashford if you ever have the chance, you won't regret it.

I had Dr. Rashford over ten years ago!! He is the reason I majored in anthro.- a subject he introduced to me. He was (I guess- "is" from reading comments) AMAZING-- brilliant, kind, travelled, good listener, accessible, just all around a great professor!

Very easy class. I would see sweat build on the brows of other students as each test was handed back, but if you do the reading and review it briefly you shouldn't have any major issues. Entertaining films and stories, too. Minor issue with last test: no questions on an assigned book (Forest People) and the essay felt a little like forced praising.

He is a wonderful person...he will help guide you in whatever direction you choose. Dr. Rashford is such a sweet man. He has a lot of expierence with Anthropology and really takes intrest in students learning and understanding of the subject. His slightly hard to understand due to his Jamaican accent, but other then that, if you do the reading and take notes in class, you should be pretty well prepared for his tests.

He's a really nice man, and funny at times, too. I was really interested in learning about Anthropology coming in as a freshman. However, other than the really good videos and documentaries we watched, I found him really boring and repetitive. The class shouldn't be too bad if you study.

This class was the biggest waste of time ever... there are only 2 test and the final which your grade is comprised of and you're basically screwed if you dont get a good grade. Extremely BORING! Monotone voice.. Smart guy.. Horrible Teacher! Dont Recommend for ANYONE!

Origin of agriculture. SO cool. Lecture is fun and we watch great videos. such a nice man with a very interesting background. Take him, he treats his students with the upmost respect yet still keeps it fun by talking about things other teachers would consider taboo (sex, drugs, alcohol) lots of fun but professional and interesting too! take it/him!

Professor Rashford is amazing. He cares so much about his students and the discipline, it makes you just as passionate and interested in Anthropology as he is. I came to the college somewhat considering anth as mm major, and after his class, I was fully swayed to declare it. A truly remarkeable human being.

Probably one of the best professors I have ever had at cofc. Im a comm major and took his caribbean class as an elective and I have learned so much it's ridiculous. He's extremely intelligent, funny, kind, and an incredible teacher. He's obsessed with plants(it's kinda adorable) and i feel like he knows everything about anything. LOVED IT.

Had to take Rasford for 101, enjoyed his class most of the time. You can tell he's passionate about anthropology, especially plants and how they relate to people. Tests were mainly multiple choice, not that hard if you take good notes. Plus, he looks like Morgan Freeman and his accent is awesome, so that helped make it more enjoyable. Take him!

Rashford is a good professor, he covers the info throughly and assigns mandatory articles which provide proof of the concepts talked about in class. He is a nice man, with a cool accent, so that helps to maintain interest. My only criticism is that sometimes he doesn't explain concepts fully, but if you talk to him he'll go into more detail.

This professor is very smart and knows what he is talking about, although he loves the topic so much he can get a little carried away sometimes. This class has only 3 test so you have to do good on all of them or you are doomed. He doesn't use the textbook much but you HAVE to read and take notes yourself.

Dr. Rashford is a very nice man. He loves the subject of Anthropology, it is easy to tell. His lectures are good but sometimes drag on and may even be a bit confusing at points. The book is not used during class but I recommend you read the chapters on your own. His tests are challenging but are just multiple choice.

READ THE TEXT BOOK! Tests come from lectures and text book. Definitely learn the vocabulary. Only three tests for your entire grade so make sure to do well. I loved him as a teacher and would def take him again.

You NEED the textbook! Only 3 exams, counthing the final which sucks because there about 75 multiple choice and really hard for me.. but if you just read the textbook and know the terms you'll probably be okay! He loves what he does which is so cute!

Dr. Rashford was awesome. If you go to class, take notes, and pay attention you'll get in A in the class. Read the articles he assigns- they're interesting and he asks about them on tests. Asks if you have questions, answers them. Final is not cumulative. Really enjoyed the class as well as the professor. Take him =)

Dr. Rashford is very sensitive to anyone who contests him intellectually. He takes it as a threat. I also find him a bit pompous. It's probably just a defense mechanism, at least I hope it is. As a senior adult I have thoroughly enjoyed previous professors for the last 3.5 years, but not Dr. Rashford.

He is such an insanely sweet and interesting man. Dr. Rashford is so passionate and makes you interested in the topics he is discussing. I never dreaded class, but also didn't want to miss one because his lectures are important. His tests can be a little difficult because sometimes he doesn't go too detailed into topics. Would highly recommend.

I absolutely love Professor Rashford! His lectures can be kinda dull but he gives all the information you need for the tests in class. Readings are pretty interesting and not super difficult. Really easy to talk to and genuinely a cool person. Look forward to class every time. Only 3 tests and no cumulative final!

I LOVED Dr. Rashford! He was an excellent professor and really knew what he was talking about. However, if you aren't good with lecture-style classes, he's not for you. His lectures were long but interesting and he spoke relatively fast. Do read the articles, they are interesting and will ALWAYS be on the tests! I'd 100% take him again!

Really enjoyed Rashford. You have to come to class to pass. You can easily make an A if you pay attention, take notes, participate, and study the exam review. He doesn't try to trick you on exams. Only 3 exams about 70 -95 questions. The test aren't cumulative. Also, the 3rd exam is taken during your scheduled final time.

I loved Rashford! He was a little boring at the beginning of the semester but it gets better. Your entire grade is 3 tests so make sure you prepare for all 3. I wish I had spent the whole semester recording his lectures because sometimes he speaks too fast to write it down. He's super nice at his office hours and super helpful when clarifying.

Dr. Rashford is the sweetest, funniest guy he cares about his students and is very passionate about Anthropology. It was sometimes a little difficult to hear/keep up with him in class, but his lectures are very interesting & he relates well to students. 3 exams, 2/3 are all multiple choice; the final is multiple choice& one essay. This class is is the definition of boring. This a leture base class. You have to play close attention. He tries to write some of the notes of the board so that you can follow but his hand writing is HORRIBLE. He does review before every test. Attendance is not mandatory but he covers so much information in one dayt hat if you skip you will not pass

I absolutely love Dr. Rashford. His personal stories and his passion for anthropology and plants is truly amazing. Although attendance doesn't affect your grade per se, he does watch who skips class and it does influence how lenient he is with grading tests. I would highly recommend.

I love the class except sometimes I get distracted of how similar he looks to Morgan Freeman. Like I go to class expecting a lecture, but instead I feel like I'm watching a movie in a theater.... had to withdraw because i couldn't get over his looks

Professor Rashford is the most kind and wise professor at cofc. He genuinely loves what he does and cares about his students. I never got above a b- on tests but because i showed up to class and tried I ended with an A-. He is a true Gem, every professor should strive to be like Rashford.
