This class was really disappointing. The course description does not match what the course is really like. A lot of outside time and money is spent on this class and preparing for projects.
I took this class a while back. The expections were fantasically overboard for a jr.college course (non-major science course). It was more like a graduate level course. You have been warned. This guy has no business teaching. Period.
he really takes his class seriously. made the subject somewhat boring. the class was super long, he holds you til the end. the 1st 1/2 of the sem is extremly boring, just lectures. the 2nd 1/2 is more fun bc each class is a field trip somewhere new. but the whole time ur identifying plants. the final is time consuming and hes a very picky grader.
This class was probably my favorite ever, too- Glad I didn't read this before I took the class. But, you are warned! This is not an easy 'A' science class; there is a ton of work to do and you learn a ton, too. Start EARLY on your plant collections. Earlier than you think! If you have a genuine interest in Texas native plants, this class is for you.
Professor was very nice. This class was fun and interesting. I learned alot about the different plant and trees species. You have to study and do not slack around. Attendace is required. Just study and stay focused and you would get an A. Try to get as many points as possible with your quizes and your plant collection. Great professor.
If you don't like to be outside in the heat, going to the creeks/parks, or like plants and trees? Then this class is not for you.I would not recommend you taking this course. Field trips are necessary in order to pass the course. Hope this helped you.
His tests aren't impossible, but if you don't have the textbook memorized don't expect to pass. If you did everything the lab asked for, expect a low B. And if you don't have the lab memorized for lab quizzes, expect to fail. I've taken 5 AP courses and 3 Dual Credit and this is the hardest course I've ever taken. Save yourself the headache. Don't.
He is the WORST proffesor at ACC. I took BIOL 1407 with him and it is impossible to pass his class. 14 people droped after the third test. If you want a W on your transcript take this class. I have a 4.0 GPA so I'm not lazy but he is absolutly insane!
It was practically impossible to get an A in this class. He did seem to lighten up towards the end of the course, but he was too harsh of a grader on lab reports and essay questions. At least half the class or more dropped, only 9 of us completed the class. He even skipped a week and went out of town. If I did it again I'd pick a different teacher.
Take this class at your own risks. This teacher should not be teaching at all. He only pulling a paycheck. I'm glad I dropped his class. He is not a very good teacher. He is a hard grader and his class took up to much of my time. This class was a waste of my money. He is not very helpful and will run off leaving you at the site when you are there.
This is still the best class I have ever taken. John is a wonderful professor and loves what he teaches. Field trips are so much fun. He can really teach you how to identify native plants, I still remember them a year after I took the class. I miss it so much. Just be respectful and take the class seriously. I'm glad the reviews didn't turn me away
This class is the study of native plants in TX. Don't sign up if you don't want to go outside and study plants, press plants and learn plant names (common and scientific) A challenging class but you learn a ton if you do the work. Very enjoyable, hated to see it end. Professor is very knowledgeable.
I took the Texas Native Plants class and loved it. This professor is extremely knowledgeable and taught me so much. I enjoyed our field trips and everyone is amazed at how much I learned about wildflowers, shrubs, and trees. If you study and come to class, no problem.
Native Plants is awesome. It felt so good to do real field work. You do spend a great deal of time in the heat. People are shocked by how much I learned. This class got me the nursery position I was waiting for. Pressing the plants and creating specimen books was fun! Tons of work. Totally worth it. Be punctual, or he will tear you apart.
Worst most unrealistic professor I have ever taken a course with. He is disorganized and unreasonable. Any and all questions were met with irritation. We had 8 people drop the class within the first month and no one that struggled through the rest made an A. He found that acceptable. Be prepared to fail this class no matter how hard you try.
Despite his best intentions, he covers way too much material. Our section ended up way behind schedule due to poor time management on his part and it was the students who suffered. Several exams were given weeks after the material was lectured upon. His test designs are poor and the questions are cryptic to say the least.
He made this course as hard as he possibly could with no way to succeed. Too much material covered and that led to us being rushed and behind schedule most of the semester. The test questions were confusing and went way beyond the scope of the course. Even if you study and work hard, there is no way to make an A in his class.
One of my favorite classes ever. Not easy but worth the work if you do it. I learned so much. I loved being out of a classroom and in the field. Tests aren't easy but so much opportunity for extra credit you can make up for poor test grades. If you don't show up for field trips, it's almost impossible to pass. Funny guy. Serious about his plants.
It's A&P--you expected it to be easy? HA. I don't get the negative reviews of Senter. He's maybe the most helpful and available instructor I've ever had, both in person and via email. If something's not clear, ask him lots of questions. Re-read the chapters. Study your butt off. Hardest "A" I've ever earned in my life, but I'd take him again.
This class was more then learning to I.D. Native and Invasive plants. During the semester you will collect and preserve samples for the two different collection binders that will be due at the end. It's more time consuming then you think, so just keep that it mind. Professor Senter is VERY serious about his plants! DON'T be tardy!!!
I didn't have to take botany -- I did out of interest. I still completely struggled in this class. Questions were met with annoyance and sarcasm. Often times, class got awkward because he was rude. Content was confusing. Would have failed if not for taking my questions to a different bio prof. I'm a Chem major with all As, except for this class.
Gets mad when you ask questions in class and lab When students get even one answer wrong on a test he points it out in the book and says you didn't study hard enough
Test are hard. Lectures are long and boring as he reads off power points. Looks for ways to make you get a lower grade that what you deserve. Not a helpful professor at all. If you ask him a question you never get direct answers and usually become more confused. I would strongly advise to take a different professor of you can.
John is friendly, straight-forward, and no nonsense. The lectures can be a bit tough as he largely reads from PowerPoint. He expects students to prepare themselves by reading and studying. However, he also does what he can to facilitate learning, e.g. evolving lab tasks to improve information retention by students.
The lectures are long. Pay attention. If Mr. Senter repeats something multiple times, it is because he wants you to know the material. You will see that repeated material on a test. You must do well on tests as there are no extra credit opportunities, homework grades, quizzes, etc. to help your grade. Mr. Senter was nice and willing to help.
The subject matter is SO HARD that you need to attend class. Make sure you take advantage of open lab. If you go to Professor Senter's office hours he is such a big help. Listen in the lectures he gives hints about what will be on the test. The biggest thing is this: do the questions in the textbook. Seriously!
John is very passionate about biology and is very knowledgeable. Really great class! There is a lot of work, so stay on top of it and study hard or it will be very difficult. His tests are tough so you have to be prepared! However, he is very generous with extra credit. Great teacher, absolutely loved the class and would take again!!
Great teacher. You will really have to earn your grade. he has a bit of an abrasive personality, but is likable if you get past that. i learned an enormous amount in his class and would take it again just to learn more about the local plant life. if you are not truly passionate about plants find another biology credit.
Prof. Senter was a really good teacher. His tests are though if you don't study and pay attention in class, but if you stay on track youll b fine. He is really nice and smart and wants his students to really learn the material so if you're lazy don't take this class.
Professor Senter is a great professor! He really cares about his students and is always available to go over material that you still might not understand after class or during office hours. He uses a wide variety of lecture techniques so all students with different learning styles can benefit. Show up to class and study!
He is a great professor! He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed. He is also super funny and tries to lighten the lectures up when they get very info-dense. Just go to class and do the prep work/studying and you'll be solid. He knows what he's talking about and is very passionate about the subject.
Professor Senter is a really good professor. I don't understand all the negative comments. If you work hard, study, and go to class there is no reason why you shouldn't get an A. He is a fair grader and everything on his lecture notes and lab practices are on the exams. NO TRICK QUESTIONS. He is straight forward an expects you to know the matetial
IDK why people were so hard on him, he's an amazing professor and really cares about his profession as well as the students. I took this class as a re-take (I went in not caring and only wanted a good grade) but I really have enjoyed the class and the "tough" tests are actually fun, however you really should make the best of open lab times :)
I took Mr. Senter for Intro to A&P; This was my first college-level science class and I was not prepared at all for the workload. This is not a class you should take simply for the credit. Your grade on exams and lab practicals are essential for your grade. He gives you many different tools to help you succeed; lab study guides, lecture notes, etc
Native plants has been my favorite class of all time. John is amazing and completely straightforward in what he expects from students. Don't think you can slide by in this class. However he inspires you to WANT to learn about these plants
I absolutely loved him! This was a great class. Learned a lot during the 6 week class. Mastering a and P is a must! He was funny and his notes correlate with his test. There was no extra unnecessary info. Study his notes. Learn the vocab which is really helpful for your whole career!!!! I recommend him.
If you want to learn more in depth I would not consider taking him. However, If you want an easy A or B his test are not hard. Overall I would not recommend him; his lectures are little boring. He is not a bad professor but his material is a little too superficial.
Professor Senter is Great! A&P isn't your easiest course and you should expect to put some amount of effort into the class. However, Senter presents his material in a very straightforward manner that's easy to follow and understand! His passion for the material is obvious and he's always eager to engage his student's interest in the subject!
All the information you need for the course is accessible through blackboard. Prof. Senter is really great at slowing down and explaining things until it clicks. His lectures can be boring but he makes some jokes in between to keep you focused. A&P is a tough subject but he is excellent at teaching it. Book isn't necessary. Highly recommend
I enjoyed this class, A&P 1, however, every lab you will have a post lab quiz the next day. Tests are okay, not too difficult but you don't have much other influences on your grade, so if you don't do well on tests, it is difficult to bring your grade up. Lab practicals weren't bad, he definitely tells you exactly what he wants you to study.
His lectures are super boring. He reads directly from his outlines you can print off and those come straight from the book. His lab practicals can be confusing and unclear and he's not very approachable. He doesn't offer reviews and expects you to know everything he covers for the tests. You can get an A but it takes a lot of time and effort.
It's clear he loves A&P. His lectures are boring. He doesn't offer reviews, but he's always available in office hours. Definitely go to open lab!
He lectures from a powerpoint but provides the notes for you. The notes didn't include images and got as long as 30 pages. He didn't give a review for exams but they were practically all multiple choice. Attendance(5% of grade) and lab quizzes(10% of grade) can be a double-edged sword. I spent at least 40 hours a week studying for his class.
Professor Senter really knows his stuff. He really understands what he is teaching and that helps him be able to communicate well to the students. He is incredibly helpful in lab and always willing to go the extra mile to explain something the student doesn't understand. But it is a hard class. You have to study, alot. Study online quizzes
I usually never rate professors, but I am hoping this will be helpful to others. All I am going to say is that there are other professors at ACC that are more knowledgeable, and therefore, more beneficial. Attendance was mandatory, so watch out for that as well.
Professor Senter is a really great teacher! He will happily do whatever it takes to make sure his students understand the material. I recommend asking questions and visiting him during his plentiful office hours. His lectures are fairly boring, but he is hilarious so that made class fun! Lab was fun too. Get ready to work HARD and study!
Professor Senter was one of the most difficult professors Ive ever had to work with. If you need accommodations of ANY kind, I do NOT suggest taking his class. He makes his class purposely SO DIFFICULT for his students. He counts off for spelling and the exams are very difficult. I would study for HOURS and barely pass. Please find someone else!
Amazing professor! Has post-lab quizzes that seem tedious, but are extremely helpful for studying in the long run. He knows how to relate topics to the life of a college student to make it interesting. I has this class at 7:30am and I willingly woke up at 5:45am to make it because his class was so wonderful!
I loved taking Prof. Senter and will again for A&P2. Everything is clear cut on grading and what you need to do. He is supportive in answering any questions and has a office you can always stop by in to talk. If you want to know your grade or how to improve, just ask! He makes jokes, his lectures are great and he gives you notes to follow along!
Professor Senter is great!!! His class is difficult, you do really have to work for that grade, but it will be worth it in the end, trust me!! If you are struggling go to him for help. If you put in the effort that you are willing to learn and ask for help, he will notice that! Take advantage of his office hours and open lab. The book helps also!
Professor Senter is caring and helpful. His class was so hard. The lecture was long and boring. If you want to make an A in his class, you have to try your very best.
Horrible professor! Do not take him
Look, this is an extremely hard class. If you truly put in the effort, it is possible to get an A. He gives extra credit and drops your lowest lecture and practical exam IF you do better on your last exam and practical than your lowest grade. He gives extra credit for 100% attendance and donating blood. Take advantage of office hours and open lab.
Senter - fair & one of the most well-organized profs at ACC - deserves a better avg rating, yet it's a tough pre-requisite course needed for many programs, many wash out, causing resentment. Want to crush it? Never skip. Bold type on lab/lecture notes means 100% MEMORIZE! Flash card those vocab words. Photo to study lab models + lab manual keys.
No homework at all, nothing really to prepare you for what exactly is being asked of you on tests or labs. I understand the topic is a hard concept itself, but he makes it extra complicated by not explaining what he requires. Lectures are just reading off a PowerPoint not much teaching, and labs are pretty much on your own. Wouldnt recommend...
Positves: Dr. Senter is very knowledgible and professional. Negatives: I think he made this class harder than it had to be. He will NOT narrow down the information to focus on for the test. No test reviews! Of all of my classes, I gave this one the greatest effort and got the least reward. He seems kind of grumpy and resentful towards students.
Do not take him if you expect a teacher that cares about your academic success. Do not take him ESPECIALLY if you have any learning disability or need student accommodations. He will fight to give you the resources you deserve and need and then call you PRIVILEGED if and when you receive them. Do not take him if there is a pandemic HE WILL GO MIA
Senter was difficult yet fair at the start of the semester, but you definitely had to work for it. Once we moved to online, he didn't communicate for a month and didn't give direction on labs or tests. He seemed mad at students for having to move online and gave no direction. Oh yeah, and he gave no direction.
Overall a good professor. Hes very to the point and the lectures are just him going over the PowerPoints. He doesnt give out any exam review guides which make it difficult to narrow down topics so gets ready to memorize your whole textbook. Just please dont take him during this COVID pandemic as he will disappear and not give guidance.
He is a good professor but the lectures are really boring. But this is a class you have to really study for. You should read and takes notes before lectures. Lab practicals are not too bad but the lecture exams are hard. And the switch to online only didnt help. Plus you only were allowed 50 minutes on the practicals and lecture exams.
I took his online BIOL 2401 (A&P1) which had virtually meeting times. I definitely won't take this guy again. He doesn't answer questions very well and is very often rude/short with students who ask questions. He does give a lot of resources but not in a helpful way. I basically taught myself everything. He just reads off of his powerpoint slides.
I was in his online class because of covid; he didn't change his syllabus or labs to be online-class-friendly. he told us the book isn't necessary but a lot of the test questions came from the book. he also changed our test format without letting us know and made it to where we couldnt go back to check our work before submitting.
Grades on Lectures multiple choose test and Labs fill in the blanks. Spelling counts on the Labs fill in the blanks. No extra credit other then donating blood. Doesn't reply to emails or answers your questions. I don't know why his a professor. He trustfully isn't trying to help us succeed. I beg for extra credit and help with my test anxiety ...
I felt like he didn't care about his students' success. When answering questions, he was often rude and dismissive. I managed to pass but only because I took my learning almost entirely into my own hands. Every lecture was pretty much just him reading from his powerpoint slides.
Pro's- He is knowledgeable about the material, he will meet with you for office hours on an appointment basis, extra credit if you donate blood, and attendance is accounted for on final grades. Cons- He's dismissive of your questions, the only grades that count are tests, there's no review before tests, and your can't change your answer on tests.
AWFUL. Had him online during Covid and wow, what an overwhelming class. Hundreds of ppt slides, notes, etc. and only 50 questions a test. 50 minutes, 50 questions and no going back once you have answered. No study guide, no structure literally nothing. Good luck.
DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR. no extra credit, no curve and very monotone. He told us on the first day if you made an A in AP1 you will get a B in his class. If you made a C in AP1 you will fail. Dont waste your money or time.
I had to teach myself almost everything bc he just reads from slides, but bc attendance wasn't mandatory I didn't mind this about him honestly. There are more effective professors out there, but I am taking him again for A&P2, I am a fan of his organization. Only grades: 5 lecture exams, 5 lab practicals. only EC: donate blood. HAVE TO STUDY A LOT!
He gives extra credit if you donate blood. I never came across material on an exam or practical that wasn't discussed in class. He answered emails quickly when I'd have questions. His goal is to help you truly understand the material and not just memorize for an easy grade.
Reads off the PowerPoint verbatim. Test in class are multiple choice, Labs are not and spelling counts. 10 question post lab quiz daily-. Start studying before the semester. Notes provided- detailed-he is not clear when asking for clarification, he just repeats himself. monotoned lecture -he is a terrible teacher in my opinion. open for questions
Lecture heavy, but multiple choice exams. Post lab quiz every lab day 10 questions each. He feeds you 100+ slides to go over on your own two days before and gives you no direction on what you will be tested on or even important. No daily work or homework, exam/quiz based. Very hard to pass even if you spend more than 8+ hr a week on the material.
I am currently in Mr.Senters course and all I got to say is be prepared to learn the information you are given in this course 3 days max, very tough grader, correct spelling matters. No communication skills, doesn't help when confused, teaches ahead of syllabus. It's impossible to work full time while taking this professor would not recommend.
Barely gave enough time to study the material, quizzes every lab, no second chances. He wouldn't communicate or respond to emails students sent him, but when he did, he'd make you feel like you shouldn't have any questions about the course/material. Not very understanding, would not recommend. Grades are based ONLY on exams/quizzes.
Professor Senter is a very great professor and willing to help outside of class, but office hours are limited. The class consists of multiple choice lecture exams & ALL fill in the blank lab practicals and post-lab quizzes (CAREFUL! Spelling matters on practicals & quizzes). No curved grades or makeups. Gives two extra credit opportunities.
He gives no reviews for any test or quiz.
This class is difficult but this will be the case with any good A&P course in my experience so far. What matters is he teaches the material effectively, and imo he does, said material just happens to be very dense. He is quite abrasive and dry however and attendance is a MUST everyday unless you want to miss 2 lab quiz grades per absence.
Knowledgeable but doesn't care about student success. Said the textbook was optional, but referenced it often and didn't provide labeled diagrams for every unit. Poor pacing. Long rambling lectures. Didn't respond to email and was hard to reach during office hours. Only EC was donating blood. Loved the subject material but not the class.
Provides clear expectations at beginning of semester and follows through. Very tough material but that cannot be blamed on him, he makes it as enjoyable as possible with witty remarks and jokes. Provides plenty of opportunities to review materia, you just need to speak up. He will work with you! Looking forward to taking his classes in the future.
He is a great teacher and seems to have a gift for explaining difficult topics very well. His passion for the subject made me enjoy it more, too. He provides help inside and outside the classroom, and I am glad to take another class with him. I also liked his "old school"- set ways. I appreciated his caring disposition and teaching style .
This is a TOUGH class, no matter the teacher. It is designed so that the weak do not make it to the nursing program. I wish I was joking, but I am not. If you want to be in it, this teacher is your guy. He has everything laid out and tells you EXACTLY what you need to know. its just very dense and thick material. Study the top of the lab sheets!
Mr. Senter is the best professor I've ever had. He responds promptly to emails, provides engaging lectures, and organizes course materials well on Blackboard. His dedication to quality education is evident in his support and expertise. His commitment to student learning benefits all.
Professor Senter is an outstanding biology teacher, dedicated and passionate about the subject. He goes above and beyond to ensure student success. Negative comments are disheartening, but he deserves recognition for his exceptional teaching abilities. I highly recommend his classes for anyone looking to deepen their understanding of biology.
These intro-level classes are made difficult than they really are because they are "weed out" classes. This isn't unique to biology, of course, as most ALL intro classes fit this category. Many topics are a mile wide and an inch deep, and many instructors (not ALL) INTENTIONALLY teach you more then they would EVER ask you on an exam. Look it up.
I absolutely loved this course, not only for the valuable information I learned but also for the incredible professor who taught it. Forget just the class, I would take this course again in a heartbeat just to hear the professor talk. His gift of gab is unmatched, and I could listen to him speak for hours on end.
I took the paired course, which included BIOL 1308, which is Biology Fundamentals. In doing so, the labs and the lectures would not line up, unfortunately. I suggest to only take this class if possible. A Quiz is given twice a week covering what was discussed in the lab, and there are seven exams, each having three chapters of lecture. Good Luck:)
Best professor in the history of professors, Incredible to say the least.
All I can say is WOW. You will learn so much in this class. Pretty easy.
Covers tough but interesting material. Lectures can be monotonous, but profs offers plenty of review opportunities. Unstuck study was a lifesaver for prep - highly recommend!
Paried biology and AP course Not enough time to go over all labs in class. Be prepared to self teach 5-10 hours a week of labs etc. Remember 100 terms for a quiz in 2 days and you might also have a lecture exam same day. You bring it up to much he basically tells you to suck it up. You can pass, just need to spend a min 20-30 hours a week studying
There is no flaw about this class and there is no flaw about Mr. Senter.
Mr. Senter is like a modern-day Patrick Swayze, a unique and kindred spirit. His charming personality makes learning enjoyable and I aspire to be as smart as him one day. He has knowledge in plants, anatomy, biology, and even car mechanics. He is a VERY special man.
I took this class paired with biol 1308, I had to dropped it. I could barely hear the professor on how low he talks, be prepared to spend 20-30 hours studying out of power points and YouTube, felt like I didn't learn anything, practices are very difficult, doesn't give study guide to prepare you for all the material.
Paired 1308- Not enough time to go over all the material. You will still be expected to know it and be tested on it. 100 slide PowerPoint expected to know all of it. No reviews. If you don't have 20-30 hours a week to study outside of class to study/self-teach do not take. I had to drop it. Tough love approach and very unclear on expectations.
Students today don't realize how lucky they are compared to the past or how things were in the olden days. Back then, education was much harder without the necessary tools. For this class u need to study hard and not take your education for granted, as there are successful students who have overcome and passed this class.
Paired 1308- The professor has high expectations and I get it, but his approach was problematic. He mishandled an extra credit issue, which made me feel uncomfortable. He also reacted defensively to questions and showed a lack of empathy for our struggles. His style felt unsupportive and discouraging; it required 20-30 hours of self-teaching.
Paired 1308- He has a unique teaching style that is incredibly motivating. His passion for Anatomy & Physiology is contagious, making students want to become experts in the subject. His challenging classes & tough demeanor pushed me to want to excel and see the material in a new light. Learning from him is a life-changing experience.
Take one of his classes for a confidence boost, then switch professors because he is the hardest but the best. Too many of his classes may result in hair loss. Other professors will seem easier by comparison. 💫
The instructor is very smart but not a good teacher. He doesn't explain material clearly and expects students to figure it out on their own. Weekly tests and timed lab practicals are stressful and not used by other professors. When students ask for help, he just says to study harder. No curve, even if many fail or drop.
Took the paired BIOL 1308 & A&P I with Senter. He gives outlines and posts everything on Blackboard. Class is hard,?you have to study and teach yourself a lot. He explains things well, is funny, replies fast to emails, and meets during office hours. Tough class, but you'll learn a lot if you put in the work.
I would give him my kidney. Love his energy. Never a boring class. 💫
I failed his class twice, but it felt surprisingly good. He makes failing feel less like a failure. I passed with a different professor, but I love that he is completely his own person and theres no one like him. He is a bit of a rebel. Learning from him is a thrill.
An ok teacher and the material is very difficult!! With only a month left of school, nearly everyone had dropped out of his class! Attendance is necessary, quizzes each day you see him, test and lab practicals are difficult too. I don't recommend taking bio and anatomy at the same time.
Very tough class (paired) 75 percent of people dropped the class. Very dense material and when asking question's answers are unclear. When you bring the difficulty up you're told just to study harder. Need to self-teach a lot of material. Wouldn't recommend the paired course. Lots of the reviews seem like they were left by the professor.
I always praise my professors, but Senter is the best. Even if he doesn't care about me, I deeply appreciate him. I hope he knows the positive impact he has on others. He is so gifted.
If you take Senter's in-person class, everyone will feel anxious at first. But once he enters the room, his calm energy as a leader will put everyone at ease. His class offers a great learning environment, and even if you don't pass, meeting him is valuable.
A mind ignited, a heart ablaze, your lectures charm, a captivating maze. With every word, a spark ignites, our souls find solace in your lights.
Your grade comes from 5 exams and that's it. The exam questions are worded to mislead and are difficult. The fact that this is an intro course is diabolical. Instructor does not lecture, is non-communicative and responds slowly if at all.
He blows off questions because u can always find the answers yourself. He's not there to learn from u; you're there to learn from him
This class is super advanced. You don't need the professor to learn the material in any class, just the guidelines, which are on the ACC website or in the syllabus. He's untouchable, a legend! I loved him and his teaching style.
I liked his voice, it was so calming and I loved the way he taught the material. He is very confident and witty but extremely professional. His teaching ways suck you in and make you want to have him teach all your classes.
You are playing the lottery with this class, you either lose all your $ or win the JACKPOT with him but I feel that either way you win the JACKPOT.
He's so smart, amazing, and the best professor ever! I'll never forget him, he'll always hold a special place in my heart.
Inflexible and inconsistent with the syllabus. Gave a 30-min, 50-question free-response test which was not clearly outlined and absolutely unreasonable. Refused to acknowledge the mistake. Poor communication and unclear expectations. Would not recommend—look for a more reliable professor.
Everyone he teaches turns to gold ✨️ You'll leave his class better than when you entered.
Every now and then people tell me how good my handwriting is..... Secretly, it wasn't until I took Professor Senter's class that I really focused on it. He's so helpful and goes above and beyond to help students improve—something other professors don't always do.
Maybe he hates the nice comments, but seriously, he's brilliant! I loved learning from someone so talented and passionate. He really focuses on his students and is a master of his subject. He should teach at a university. ⭐️
I adored him, both as a person and a professor.I wished he taught all my classes,OR even ran the whole program! I miss his lectures. He's a genius,& his personality is one of a kind.He inspired me tobe better&helped me focus because he was so detail-oriented.He's so observant, suchA beautiful human.I loved him so much.Hated getting another professor.
I've saved all his lectures and listen to them weekly to keep it all fresh. You can download them too, so I can always hear his voice – it's the best! Just like a favorite song, he's like listening to my favorite song. I love his voice, his tone, and how he teaches.
Mr. Senter's the reason I'm going to med school. Seriously, if you want an easy A, skip his class – he'll make you work your butt off. But it's totally worth it. He pushed me so hard I realized I could be a serious academic player. He gave me the confidence to go for my dream, showed me I could do it.
He's a demanding professor, but that doesn't make him a bad one. He's upfront about the challenging nature of his course, its blood, sweat and tears. Many students expect excessive coddling these days, but if that's your expectation, skip this class - it'll be a real wakeup call as it's designed to be rigorous and help students MATURE. 🌟

I've read every comment that was made. Perhaps he preferred teaching about native plants to anatomy. He received a lot more favorable reviews. It's clear that he is amazing at both subjects, but I hope he enjoys teaching Anatomy. Given how beautiful he is, he ought to be able to teach what he loves most.

The iris flower is a versatile and meaningful plant that has captured the imagination of many throughout history. Its beauty, symbolism, and cultural significance make it a beloved flower that continues to inspire and captivate people around the world JUST like professor Senter. 🌟
Professor Senter, who's German and reminds me of the iris flowers I see when I run, is also a runner. It's awesome that he runs instead of walks, which makes him a great professor. I loved hearing that and it explains why he's so healthy and has so much energy for his big class. 🌟
My friends & family even know how incredibly grateful I am for the impact him & his class have had on me.I am so pleased to have had the opportunity to learn from him,As it has truly expanded my mind. Mr. Senter is incredible. I wish I could shrink him down into a little doll to carry around with me in my purse and take to all my other classes.
Professor Senter was a wonderful teacher. He went beyond to make sure his students understand the lecture well. Got partial credit for post lab quiz and practical exam. He responsed very quickly with all the email.
You'll be inspired after taking his class. He's a masterpiece. A walking piece of art. Charming and Intelligent. I recommend his anatomy and physiology or even biology class for all new med students. It's for those who really like to push themselves past their limits. Hes great at communicating, emails are straight to the point/ attend office hrs.
HisCourseProvides a realistic outlook on professional interactions, including w medical professionals who may not prioritize your wellbeing. It focuses on developing resilience & navigating tough situations in the medical field. The class prepares students for the demanding environment, fostering mental fortitude to effectively manage complexities.
I liked Professor Senter a lot. His tests are hard, but he is fantastic about giving back grades quickly and answering questions. He offers free tutoring on Fridays in the lab with the lab models. You need to show up to every class. Since he gives a lot of tests, there maybe a chance to drop a low grade. Don't give up too early; class got easier.
Initial admiration for Senter turned to resentment as his selfish& cold behavior overshadowed his intelligence.Harsh feedback on assignmens & being ignored made me feel discouraged&belittled.I learned to value empathy, understanding, and kindness in education through this experience.grateful forThe opportunity to grow & learn from his shortcomings.
It is disheartening to see others express positive sentiments. I was obsessed with his class until I tookA 2nd one& he was cold to me. It is understandable that I feel upset when my efforts were seemingly disregarded, especially after investingSo much of mydelf in his class. I will always haveThe disappointment&these lingering emotionsTowards him.
My perception of him has shifted; he no longer embodies the artistic ideal I once held, but rather, a representation of darkness. This marks my final communication. I had anticipated a moment of self-awareness and apology, but I now recognize that such a response is unlikely. -SD 💫⭐️💫
Extremely difficult. I would recommend a different professor for AP.
He doesn't add any grades other than lecture exams, lab exams and quiz grades. me personally I am not a good test taker, and even though I knew this material from reading and studying so much, I still reached only a C because of the exams. no study guides. lectures are very by the book, he just reads what off of his powerpoint.
I can sleep better at night after reading these comments. -SD ⭐️
I think many people take this course expecting to get a good grade w/o putting the required work in. Pre-health related courses are notoriously hard, so expect to put in work every day. He is so helpful, offers many options to get help, and is happy to answer questions, but don't expect for it to be easy. If you're determined, you can do it!
A paired course is a FAST course. Once you get the hang of it, his class is actually very straightforward. You have to learn the terminology on your own and it's a lot. His lecture videos are the study guides for the lecture exam, and the lab papers are the study guide for the lab practicals. I wish I could take more of his classes he is so kind.
