The lectures are fun and interesting. You don't have to write any kind of essay or take any kind of essay exam, so if you are not a good writer, that's not a problem at all in this class. Easy fill in the blank tests or multiple choice. Don't buy the book...you won't need it. This makes a good 5th class because you don't have to do anything.

With that being said even though he lectures (although it doesn't seem like he's lecturing because he's really down to earth) about what is going to be on the test you'll still need to read the book. Great professor! By far the most entertaining class I have taken at HCC. Sopchak makes learning psychology very fun & not boring whatsoever. He is constantly cracking jokes and telling us his life stories. There is no homework at all. Just a little note taking and a test after every chapter. This guy is a real gem. Literally the best teacher. He gives you examples from real life to explain things, so you understand!!!! He also is so nice, and genuinely cares for you. I would take this guy again, no doubt. He is also gives little gifts ie.. extra points on tests etc! :)

The BEST professor Ive ever taken!! Absolutely recommend. He gives 5 tests & thats all he grades, drops lowest, gives really inspiring lectures, & is VERY clear on whats going to be on tests. I was once late for a test for an emergency & while explaining it to him he says doesnt matter, just happy youre here & hands me the test. Hes the best

Professor Jack is 1 in a million. Even though psychology isn't my strong point, he made it interesting. Love and respect.

Hes honestly a great professor and I recommend everyone I know to take him. He didnt assign any homework, we had a few tests and they werent that bad. He gives us study guides and theyre basically the tests, he even drops the lowest grade! I would love to take him again.

Didnt think I passed BUT because hes so inspirational I studied harder and passed!! If he feels you have potential hell take you under his wing...... SIMPLY AMAZING!! #loveSopchak

Cool guy. He sparked my interest in Psych. Write down what he tells you to write down and study it a bit before the test and you will get and A. Do yourself a favor and pass on the textbook, I didn't need it in the slightest for both Psych 1 and 2.

Is passionate about teaching and makes sure everyone understands the material presented. Uses real life situations and applies the material to those, makes learning way easier! He is very respectful, caring, funny and very understanding to each students situation.

Very inspiring professor. His use of real life situations helps you to understand the material better. He will tell you exactly what to write in your notes and thats exactly what will be on the test. Do NOT buy the book- he doesn't use it, save your money.

Sopchak, is a well respected Professor. He gives very good lectures of the information that you will need for test. So listen & be sure to take notes and SHOW UP TO CLASS! Participation matters. Plus he tells awesome stories that helps you understand. He is very encouraging & he wants all his students to do great. Test are multiple choice! No HW.

Professor Sopchak 's class is amazing, You have to attends class and take note. English is not my second language, with only his notes I am getting an A- You just have to read your notes. His explanation is clear than the book itself. You would never get bored on his class.

I took Professor Sopchak's class in the spring to replace my previous grade. He breaks down the subject for everyone to understand. Pay attention to his lectures and take notes word-for-word! 90% of his exams are based off of his lectures EXACTLY! Best professor that you will find! Role model of the century!

Aw how I will forever miss Professor Sopchak! I took his off campus class, then covid hit and everything changed. BUT he still meet up with us to drop off & pick up work! The class was so easy he gave us his number if we had any questions or concerns. He is the ABSOLUTE BEST professor ever! (And yes, I added him on Facebook). ;)
