I would recommend no other professor for intro biology. Hands down he best in the department. Quizes weekley, in class and online, funny comic strips on tests, and cooky stories for quizes with "stan the man". You will learn more than you thought, and have more fun than any other class for that semester. He cannot be topped.

I really liked this professor and this class. He uses students as visual aides sometimes, and he gives out reese's cups and extra credit. He has good office hours, review sessions, and TA sessions are also available. But GO TO CLASS. He puts his ppts and key words on Black Board so it makes studying easier.

He teaches this course for Biology majors specifically and I loved it. Really makes you realize why you chose to be a Bio major and the science behind it. I had taken AP Bio in high school and hated it, and did not pass the exam. Dr. Stiller makes this class crystal clear and teaches it in a problem based which makes you dig deeper.

I took his class because many people said he was good. When I started his class, I was freaking out and though it was the most hard class ever. Every single day there is an assignment that you have to do with your group. If your group sucks, you won't know how to do anything. He gives a lot of credit on exams.

Many people like John but I didnt care to much for his teaching style. Hed do a lecture but it only seemed like 10 mins and the rest you did with your table. On exams if everyone puts the same answer hell still give you credit and the person that put the right answer will get extra credit. His exams are writing but hes very lenient

Yes, this class was VERY hard. Yes, the tests were hard. This one was probably one of the hardest classes I had this semester, but I wouldn't take this class with any other professor. I had to retake genetics and when I was trying to find the best professor out there I found Dr, Stiller, initially, I was scared because exams are 75% of the grade. But after the first exam, I found that the slides he covers in class are basically on the exams. Exam 2 was the hardest in both times I took it, so study big for that one. Take him!
