Teall is a great professor with real life experience. Very dedicated and fair.
Very nice professor. HE KNOWS FINANCE. Smart guy. Teaches a lot of theory.
Very helpful, very knowledgable, and pretty interesting. Tests are NOT easy.
Tough Exams, Gives review sessions, I learned the most in this class
Helpful
Learned a lot, but not enough to pass the mid-term. I had to drop the course.
Great and nice professor. Exams are HARD but just study coursepack! I got an A-
Saved me $120. No book required. Open midterm and final. Hard tests.
Amazing professor. Great class if you want to learn. NOT EASY!
He is wonderful guy but Exams are just pain in the ass...
An absolute must for any serious finance student.
He is one of the best professors in Lubin
Tough; Nice guy; Gives Review Sessions
Best Fianance Prof. at Pace.
Nice guy. Good teacher. Read the Ch. Not for non-FIN majors.
He is very knowledgeable, test is very hard and the 2 tests count 100% of the grade. An easy to fail class. If u think u r very good in finance, then take him, u will learn alot.
This guy speaks a whole other language...Formulas. Almost everything he does is formula and formula manipulation. Mid-term and Final count as your whole grade 50% each but they are not as hard as they sound. He is good take him.
Exams are unreal. You really have to know your stuff.
One of the best finance teacher of Pace. His exams are open notes and quite easy. He does not take attendance, and all the answers of the test are in the handouts he gives. So you just have to come two times to class (one for the midterm final)
Not a good idea
Hard but I learned more than in any other finance course.
Very knowledgeable although he doesn't read from a book, during lectures-it sure seems like he is..needs to invigorate setting to make more interesting. Tests can be difficult; you must study hard; open book test doesn't mean easy A. advise Nam for begin.
Really tough course. Pay attention to the lectures and focus on the Coursepack. The exams, especially the final are killers.
Open book exams but one or two problems will be very hard. He usually give 4-6 problems on exams. Only read packets he give out. Very laidback. Very smart. Very helpful
Excellent professor.Comes to class with just a marker and is able to teach the lecture. Everything is in his brain, he doesnt need his notes like other professors. His coursepack is the BIBLE.Use it, read it, sleep on it - then you will do good on exams.
The class is just quant. If u are good in derivatives this is an easy class for you, if not you will definately have to work ur @#$ out. easy grader
I'm not sure yet whether I'll be repeating this course, but I certainly learned a lot. Know the textbook cold; the text does follow his lectures pretty closely.
Lots of errors in his text book and course pack. Teachs class using an excel spreadsheet even though you can't use Excel on exams. His lectures and writings are very Incoherent.
Great professor, but tough....exams are killers, study hard know the coursepack cold and you should be fine. His door is always open and he is always willing to help. Definitely the best finance professor at Pace...take him if you want to learn something
excellent professor. he helps you with anything AND MAKES TIME NO MATTER WHAT. ONE OF THE BEST PROFESSORS!!!!!!!!!TAKE HIM NO REGRETS.
AWESOME AWESOME AWESOME...MAKES FINANCE THE WAY ITS SUPPOSE TO BE, TAKE HIM AND YOU WILL LOVE THE MATERIAL MORE...MAKES CLASS FUN, KNOWS HIS SUBJECT, AND IS THE BEST PROFESSSOR I HAVE HAD AT PACE
he is the best, except he's really hard on exam...no curve, u screw up on one of the test, u r done
SIMPLY THE BEST!!!! Take him you will not regret it.
Good Professor, but his test are hard. Study the coursepack only ....DO NOT BUY THE BOOK!! Also there are a lot of errors in the course pack, which can be frustrating at times.
excellent course but hard!
Human calculator..moves at the speed of light..i felt dumber after every class
The best Prof. at Pace. If you are here to learn then take his classes, However, if you are here to drink and have fun--think twice. his tests are no joke and there are no curves
Nice guy, but is very confusing and complicated class. He is talented, but he cannot teach. Talks to students, as they are PhDs. Exams are extremely hard. In class, he gives a lot of theory, no practical examples, but expects students to solve problems on the exam. I was not happy.
Excellent teacher. Tough exams. The important thing is that you learn a lot of useful material that you need to do financial analysis for most types of investing. Great course.
AMAZING professor! I loved his lectures, they were very informative. He really goes out of his way for his students, which is good especially if you have a weak math background. Very helpful, but his tests are NO JOKE!!!!!!!!
this is a very good professor, he is very smart and has a lot of knowledge. I learned alot from his class. Exams are hard but made me learn more.
Excellent Teacher. Clear, precise, to the point. Super friendly, great with emails. The material might be a bit hard, but if you go to all his classes and do all the problems, you will be good. Not an easy A, but you will definitely get your money worth. I totally recommend him.
His exams are RIDICULOUSLY HARD but he is an amazing professor. I so enjoyed every class, and even though I didn't get all that great a grade (B-) I learned so much! Thanks, Dr. Teall...u rock!
As a CS student-the material is too hard. The professor is too confident in himself. Tests are extremely hard.
very hard tests hard prof hr thinks you already knows everything so he rashes through the material very fast.HORRIBLE DONT TAKE HIM IF YOU WANT A.I mean if you ant D- TAKE HIM WORST GRADER AND PROF. AT PACE.
teall is very smart, but a little cocky. he sits on a desk for the entire lecture, and teaches everything from this MASSIVELY EXTENSIVE website course page that you must see to believe. i guess he thinks he's real handy with computers, sorry dude, i think MASTERING excel isnt too cool.

Excellent course; Teaches the kind of math that derivatives and fixed income analysts actually use
Even Einstein could not have been this arrogant. He may know his material but it is hard to believe he would ever succeed in the field with his kind of attitude.
Excellent course. For honors and Lubin Leaders students only. The exams were tough, but the course was what expected for the honors program.
Excellent but tough course. We finally learned something other than the CAPM
VERY HARD PROFESSOR BUT, VERY SMART
Ph.d smart but seems to lack real world financial experience. Good at explaining the medium hard stuff, not too clear on the more difficult stuff. He made a dumb comment once, he said LTC failed because younger newer finance Ph.D's out did them. Problem w/that statement was LTC did had 25 PH.d employess- many young and several Nobel prize winners
Stay away from him. He is smart but he doesn't know how to teach. He gives definitions but no exercises. the open book exam was only problems most of the class did not know how to start because we never had one homework to do.
Brilliant! Had to withdraw.
he talks alot, open book exams, no homework. just study his practice exams, you'll be fine. take him if you don't mine him talks at you!
honestly, I think he should be fired. He doesn't teach, all he does is stand there and give you hard problems and smiles and asks "Any questions?" He sucks and he should really learn to teach before he becomes a professor of an honors class.
Good subject but very unclear professor; so is his book full of errors.
The course was hard, but this is why I signed up for it. He was really an excellent teacher. I plan to take his investments course.
The material may be tough, but he explains it well and is always available for help. Has a couple review sessions before each exam. Take him is you want to learn and walk away with a lot of knowledge!
nice guy and willing to help AFTER class..during class i had no idea what was going on. the problem with the class was that it was more like advanced finance-so i couldn't tell you if he's a good teacher b/c he already expected us to know the basic finance material-which i did not..he definitely could have tried to make us understand more.
Decent course with excellent lectures but tough exams
The worst Professor I have ever taken. He seems to have a lot of knowledge, but certainly fails in imparting this knowledge to the students. He speaks about all the highly advanced topics, but never teaches them in a way that a student can understand. And when you a question, he will just pass it on, and will just smile. WORST GRADER.DON'T TAKE HIM
Horrible prof, cannot teach and tests r HARD
tests are open notes but HARD, but if you go to his office hrs, he's always there to help.
This is the best professor in pace university. If you are paying such a high tuition and want to get your moneys worth you should take this professor.
only midterm and final, each worth 50% and are HARD HARD HARD!
Very intelligent prof. Most of the time he writes a lot of symbols on board which you are not able to understand after half-way through the semester. But he is very knowledgeable and very good on explaining stuff only if you ask. Exams are okay if you study his dummy exams. Materials are definitely hard but it's worth the money. Definitely.
Hard as hell! An AH of empic portportions Stay away from him from him save your grade
Excellent professor, you will learn a lot. Exams are not easy but if you did your part you'll get a very good grade. Questions target 'confident' student where simple answers will usually do the trick.
boring and very hard. dont take him, u will fail.
Hard course, but the best one that I've taken at Pace.
Tough exams. Excellent lectures, problem sets and notes. Useful project and helpful.
Great course. Learned a lot. Take him if you're more concerned about learning than about getting an easy grade.
Very intelligent. You learn so much, the lectures are interesting. Exams are easier than you'd expect but the man makes you nervous. If you come to class every day and review the material a few days before the exam, you should do good. Review sessions are helpful.
Extermely boring and his tests are very hard. STAY AWAY
Dropped after the midterm. Don't get me wrong, he himself knows this stuff like the back of his head, but there's no guidance and he expects you to know steps one and two, and begins everything at step 3.
The one class that I have taken in Lubin that I learned some useful stuff. Excellent class, tough exams, excellent lectures, okay readings. Worth taking, but only if you aren't in it fot the easy A.
My section was for honors students. This was the first course that I took at Pace that was taught at a level above high school. It was challenging, interesting and absolutely worth the effort.
The professor’s utility for teaching is to feel smarter then the avg person, instead of a genuine desire to teach. He skips step so you’ll be confused. He just makes things seem more difficult then they are. I would avoid him.
His were the hardest exams that I took at Pace. But, I knew that I would have to study like the dickens and this made it possible for me to pass - I think. Excellent class. Not the same stuff I saw in my undergraduate finance courses or other MBA finance courses.
Teall is certainly a smart man who knows a lot about finance. However, he is not that great of a professor. He confuses people and isn't very organized. The midterm and final are impossible (even though you will be studying for at least 15-20hrs). Group project - 3 people/25pgs. Although I deserved a C in the class, he gave me a B-.
Learned math for finance. Wish I had taken this course before FIN 672 and FIN 653. Excellent. I recommend for all finance majors. But it is difficult.
if you have advanced math backround then it is peace of cake. otherwise you ll have hard times exams may take four hours. he is very good teacher but in class you feel like movie producers are shotting Beautiful mind 2.
WARNING: If you're not a math genius; stay away. Teall lives and breathes math. He is a nice guy and will make the lessons fun and interesting, especially if you're a finance major. The midterm is okay and the final was unpassable. Enjoy!
Teall is by all means one of the best prof at Pace. Unlike most of the university’s faculty, he requires his students to use their heads and does not tolerate incompetence. The tests are hard--but he covers all the material in class and the book is not mandatory as all read material is handed out in class.
Pretty quantitative course with a lot of institutional detail Excellent course, learned a lot and got killed on the final. Still passed the course. Nevertheless, I refinitely recommend the professor, at least if you're willing to put in a lot of effort and still not quite make the top grade.
This was not an easy course. But it was very good, I learned a lot and the professor was excellent.
WARNING DO NOT TAKE UNLESS YOU HAVE A PHD IN MATH!! EVERYONE TAKE FULLER HES TEACHING MONDAY NIGHT FALL 07 FIN 351 DO NOT TAKE!!!
HE's GONE FOREVER!!!!
Prof. Teall wasn't always the clearest, but he certainly knew and loved what he was talking about. His enthusiam made you wanna be as skilled as he appeared to be. As student on the fence, he was the one who made me a finance major. He was always accessable, smiling, and willing to talk about your school and professional career. A true professor
I took him for my finance seminar a couple of years ago, and there's no comparison between him and the other finance professors that I took. His course was rigorous, his lectures and written materials were clear and he was all-around outstanding. It's a shame that Pace lost this professor. I certainly wish that they would find someone else as good.
