Mr. Tenuto is very funny, and the tests aren't difficult at all. If you just show up to class every day you are almost guaranteed an A. Plus, class is fun, so it's not difficult to drag yourself there.

Makes Sociology exciting, which is not an easy task. As far as I'm concerned, I think he is the best teacher CLC has. I've had him for 2 classes, and I'm really happy I took him. Taking Honors with him would be awesome!

pretty much an awesome class. Its easy, yet still informative. As long as you go to class and pay attention (which isn't hard to to b/c this class in entertaining) you will do well. You don't need the textbook, but it's a good read.

I had this guy 2 years ago, during the spring semester of 09'. He had a great sense of humor, and didn't really make his students take pages worht of notes -- like so many other teachers I have had. Basically all you have to do is sit and listen; which works best with me. If you are looking to add a couple more credit hours, I would suggest him.

Good online teacher. Every week you have homework and then two quizzes. Almost to the end of course, you have a a 4-5 page paper. Sends a email every week with stuff concerning the next chapter. You can work a head if wanted. Fun class!

He was a very easy going professor. He always incorporated some joke to make the class fun. You rarely use the book because he always handed out study guides for upcoming test, which he would go over ALL the answers. The final presentation was simple, I even messed up and he covered for me! Took this online class and I really didn't expect to like it - I loved it! The professor was involved which made it more interesting and enjoyable. He was incredibly quick to answer email. This class used he Connect: Sociology portal which raises the bar for all other education portals. I enjoyed the experience because Prof. Tenuto made it fun!

I took an Honors section of this class, and it was great. Tenuto's really easygoing and has a great sense of humor. He uses pop culture and interesting examples to make the class engaging. Some people might be annoyed by his occasional rambling and unholy love of Star Trek, but I thought it was fun. Would recommend him to anyone!

I dislike when an instructor does not give clear guidelines to what they expect and what we will be graded on, then grades poorly due to lack of instruction on their part. EASIEST CLASS EVER! I would take it online instead of in a lecture. He opened the class early and the class didn't even go to the end of the semester it ended about a whole month earlier. The book is free! He is an awesome teacher as well. Each week you only read about 10 pgs. and then take a 20 question test on exactly what you just read. SO EASY!

Amazing Professor. This was my first ONLINE class & it was super easy. I had a quiz every week (Multiple choice, true & false questions). The quizzes are SUPER easy. We had two homework assignments & 1 paper. Homework & paper were SUPER easy. Not over exaggerating either. I didn't study or read the book once & I got an A in the class.

Tenuto is awesome! If I don't leave class without one good laugh, something is wrong. I had no idea what sociology was when I started, but I have learned so much from his class. There are three tests, all multiple choice. One three page ancestry paper that you can submit as many times as you like until you get the grade you want.

He had amazing lectures that made me question my life sometimes. Start your ancestry paper right away.

TAKE THIS CLASS! Mr. Tenuto makes you view the world in a completely different aspect. He is very humorous and grabs your attention from the minute he begins his lecture. He is THE best professor that I have ever taken!

Mr. Tenuto is one of the funniest people I've ever met, let alone had as a professor. His lectures were always informative and hilarious. I always looked forward to his class and left in a good mood. His unbridled love of Star Trek and Star Wars was so refreshing. If you're reading this Mr. Tenuto, you're a splendid person!

I've never had a more down to earth and sensible teacher than Professor Tenuto. He makes his lectures humorous yet interesting. Not exactly sure he's my type in the "hotness" department, but definitely one of my favorite teachers, hands down.

Mr. Tenuto was an amazing Sociology professor. We only had 3 tests and one extensive research paper but he guides you through it. He's incredibly funny and makes the class less boring by relating it to modern world examples.

I took his online class and it was a lot of fun and easy. He is a huge star wars and star trek fan. He makes a lot of references to these movies and provides some pretty cool pics of him and his family with some celebrities. Every week you read the assigned chapters and then take a test. Everything on the tests are from the book. Emails back quick!

Mr Tenuto is a great guy. He made coming to class exciting. The class I was in was only 1 hour, three times a week at 8am. He was able to keep me awake with his humor and interesting lectures. I took this class because it was required, however because of him I am taking the deviance class. He made me want to learn more in this field.

I took his online class because I'm a stay at home mom and limited on times I can go on campus. I wish I took it on campus. His first email to the class, I knew he would be awesome. I'm sure on campus it would have been one of my favorite classes ever. The tests are easy if you do the reading.

Easy, easy (easy) A+. Open book/note quizzes. 2-3 min/Q for simple multiple-choice. No cumulative final. Easy grading on one 600+ word paper. Only online class Ive taken with no discussion element. Pro: Can work ahead and finish course early. Con: No connection with anybody except the teacher high level of self-discipline required. Book is free.

Professor Tenuto is hilarious & has a good spirit! I took his online course very organized, easy to follow and informative. You don't need to buy a book you'll get access to the online book for free. He is Star Trek crazy, but that made the class so much more enjoyable! I really recommend him and the final paper isn't even bad. The class in general became my favorite.

The greatest teacher for sociology on the planet. I loved every class, every lecture, and every assignment. He understands his students, prepares his lectures well in advance, and is very organized. He was also easy to reach outside of class and would never hurry you or make you feel dumb. If you have the chance to take a class by him, DO IT.

This man gave me chills when he would lecture because he opened your eyes into a different world based on the sociological perspective. Tenuto also had just the right amount of humor to dash on his lectures which kept you on the edge of your seat. You want a professor with passion? Take him, I promise you will not regret it.

I loved taking his class because he is very welcoming to everyone, and you actually learn new ideas tbh. Take him you won't regret it.

His incredible lectures (entertaining, informative, and sometimes necessarily uncomfortable and provocative) really gave me a sense of how to bring Sociology into my own life. He has his views and opinions, but they don't get in the way of his care for the growth of his students - he wants you to be informed, and he makes learning enjoyable.

The best teacher I have had while at CLC. Super easy going and makes lectures fun! He really is an approachable teacher, making time for you anytime you need help. A class I would look forward to and tests and paper weren't stressful. He would give feedback and motivation, as long as you read and pay attention you will be good!

Tenutos humanities modules were always a joy to be a part of. He gave fantastic and gripping lectures which always made me excited to listen to. Historically assignment were always well explained and interesting to do. He was always available to reach out to and gave fantastic feedback

Best teacher ever. He cares so much about us. He is willing to listen and provides the text book since he does not want us to waste money. He also dosent have many assignments. His study guides are just like the tests. He sets you up for success. He cares about our mental health and well being which is why he provides us with so many resources.

Great quirky weird professor. Those are the best ones. Class is very easy, read a chapter then test. I got a C- because I decided to go to the east coast and forgot to turn in 2 whole tests before 1259am. Other than that it would have been an easy A. He's very accessible always emails students and keeps up with grades. TAKE HIS COURSE

If you are thinking on taking John Tenuto for Sociology please do it!! He is amazing at what he teaches he is very funny and very inspirational, assignments are very clear and to the point! If I could take him again I would!

Mr. Tenuto was a great professor, i took the course as COVID hit and the transition from class to online definitely made things different but Tenuto was great in proving as much help and entertaining lectures throughout the whole thing! 10/10 would love to have him in all my classes if it were possible

I have taken Professor Tenuto for two separate class requirements. I enjoy being part of his lectures because he truly cares about his student's well-being. He's super quirky and has a great sense of humor. No hw, just 3 quizzes. His quizzes are JUST like the study guide & fun fact, he tells you what's on the test when we review.

This man is one of the greatest. A fair and understanding professor yet honest and true. It is a same that he will be retiring soon but, I will be sure to teach as he has. Not as a teacher of the art of social structure we based our society on but as a mentor for those who seek to better them self's. P.S Shatner is the best.

To put it simply, Tenuto was the best professor I had this past semester-- in fact, he's one of the best I've had my entire time at CLC! He's nothing short of amazing, and you are guaranteed to laugh during any of his classes. Basically, he's awesome and I STRONGLY suggest taking one of his classes...you definitely won't regret it! :)

Literally one of the best professors I've had in my entire life. His lectures are just really interesting and his hilarious personality just makes it impossible not to listen and learn. You won't even need to take lots of notes because his lectures are super enjoyable. I loved learning about sociology with him. He enriched my mind with knowledge!

Professor is honestly one of the best professor I had every taken in school he funny, caring, and teaches you everything that matters in life. This man taught my how to think critically and applied sociology into real ife situations

Prof. Tenuto is such an easy going and understanding professor. You have very few assignments in the class which was helpful if you have a lot of classes during the semester. I think there was a total of 10 assignments and they were just quizzes which are just like the chapter reviews it is all the same thing, which made the class easy.

Awesome professor, super light workload. One quiz per week and it is always on the textbook chapter.
